In the North-Eastern Administrative District of the capital, construction of a tunnel-type overpass and pedestrian crossing under the fourth Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-4) continues. It will connect Skladochnaya and Dvintsev streets. This was reported by the head of the Department of Construction of Transport and Engineering Infrastructure of the City of Moscow Vasily Desyatkov.
“The facility is over 90 percent complete. Finishing work on the tunnel section is nearing completion. The central section of the overpass was built in three months with the complete dismantling of the railway track when train traffic was stopped in preparation for the launch of MCD-4. Currently, work is being completed on the implementation of architectural design solutions,” added Vasily Desyatkov.
The tunnel with one traffic lane in each direction is being built as part of the first stage of the project to develop the street and road network in the area of Dvintsev and Skladochnaya streets, from Streletskaya street to the Rizhskoye direction of the Moscow railway. And the entire project, in addition to the tunnel and pedestrian crossing, provides for the construction and reconstruction of the street and road network with a total length of 3.6 kilometers.
On the instructions of Sergei Sobyanin, special attention is being paid to the quality of roads and sidewalks in the capital. Each stage of construction work is monitored by inspectors of the Committee for State Construction Supervision of the City of Moscow (Mosgosstroynadzor), the head of the department said Anton Slobodchikov.
“During this period, two on-site inspections were conducted, including with the participation of the subordinate Center of Expertise. Using a set of laboratory and instrumental studies, specialists assessed the compliance of the concrete class in terms of compressive strength, as well as the thickness of the protective layer and the reinforcement pitch with the requirements of the design documentation,” Anton Slobodchikov specified.
Earlier Sergei Sobyanin reported, that the new overpass will become a significant object in the development of the North-Eastern Administrative District. This object will improve transport services to the Butyrsky and Maryina Roshcha districts, where about 135 thousand people live.
