Urgent support is needed for children born from misconduct by personnel serving with the United Nations.
Although progress has been made since 2017 through the establishment of new frameworks, policies and procedures, sexual exploitation and abuse continues to occur across the UN system.
In some instances, children are conceived and left behind in the conflict environments their father was serving at.
Catherine Pollard, the Under-Secretary-General for Management Strategy, Policy and Compliance says that the UN is committed to focusing on tackling this type of misconduct and calls on Member States to also do their part.
