“As the crescent moon appears, thousands of Albertans will be among more than 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide in welcoming the blessed month of Ramadan – a time of fasting, prayer and spiritual renewal.
“Ramadan is a sacred period of self-reflection, devotion and gratitude. From dawn to dusk, Muslims fast as an act of faith and discipline, deepening their connection with Allah through prayer, charity and acts of kindness. It is a month that reminds us of the values of patience, humility and compassion.
“Each evening, families and communities gather to break their fast at iftar, strengthening bonds of unity and sharing in the blessings of sustenance and togetherness. Through generosity and service to others, Ramadan inspires a spirit of giving that uplifts not only those who observe it but entire communities.
“As this holy month begins, I extend my warmest wishes to all who are observing. May this Ramadan bring you peace, spiritual fulfillment and countless blessings.
