“Today thousands of Hindu Albertans will celebrate Holi, the Festival of Colours. This vibrant celebration originated in India but is now recognized around the world as a way to celebrate the arrival of spring and reconnect with community.
“During Holi, the focus is on practicing acceptance, living in harmony with all the earth’s inhabitants, and the triumph of good over evil.
“The colours that represent Holi come from the vibrant powders mixing with water as both are playfully tossed during the celebrations. It is a symbol of the coming hues of spring and the renewal that this time of the year brings to the earth and to our spirits.
“To all who celebrate, may Holi’s colours fill your days with joy and the promise of good times ahead.
