BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) — The total output value of China’s satellite navigation and positioning service industry grew 7.39 percent year on year to reach 575.8 billion yuan (about 79.9 billion U.S. dollars) in 2024.
The data was released on Sunday in a white paper on the development of China’s satellite navigation and positioning service industry in 2025.
According to the white paper, as of the end of 2024, the total number of patent applications in the field of satellite navigation in the country exceeded 129,000, with about 288 million smartphones nationwide supporting the location function provided by the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. -0-
