The acceptance of applications for the “Volunteer of Russia” badge has begun. It will be awarded for the first time. The procedure for rewarding and awarding volunteer (volunteer) activities with the “Volunteer of Russia” badge has been approved by a Government decree.
“The “Volunteer of Russia” badge is a symbol of recognition and respect for people who give their most valuable resource – time. This year, the award is being presented for the first time. I wish success to the applicants and thank them for their dedication to the cause, which our President Vladimir Putin called very important and noble,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister also added that, starting in 2025, the development of volunteer activities will be one of the key areas of the national project “Youth and Children”.
“Over the past 10 years, more and more Russians have been participating in volunteer projects: if previously only 3% of citizens were volunteers, now 28% have joined the volunteer movement. In implementing the national project “Youth and Children”, launched by the President of Russia, we plan to involve 45% of young people in volunteering by 2030. We see that interest among young people in the field of volunteering is growing, from early childhood, children come to the aid of those who need it. The “Volunteer of Russia” award will help to recognize the most active volunteers and inspire others to creative work,” emphasized the head of Rosmolodezh Grigory Gurov.
Federal and regional authorities, as well as organizations, formulate proposals for awarding the award to the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh). Individuals wishing to apply must contact the regional youth committee for subsequent submission of the application to Rosmolodezh. The mandatory documents for submitting an application include an award nomination form, a copy of the passport, consent to the processing of personal data, and a certificate of no criminal record.
Volunteers who have made a significant contribution to volunteer activities in Russia and earned at least 500 volunteer hours on the Dobro.RF platform over the past three years, or people who have performed a heroic act as part of volunteer activities, may apply for the “Volunteer of Russia” badge. In addition, donors (blood, plasma, bone marrow) with extensive donation experience and those who promote the development of bone marrow or stem cell donation may be nominated for the badge.
“The “Volunteer of Russia” badge was established by the Government in development of the updated federal law on support for volunteerism. Every year, the most active volunteers will receive it at the federal level and in the regions. The new award emphasizes the value of the volunteer movement in Russia and the recognition of individual merits at the highest level,” said Artem Metelev, head of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy and head of the Dobro.RF platform.
