Family festivals “Faces”, “Our Yard – Good Neighbors” and “Experts of the Region” offer a rich program of events for city residents of different ages within the framework of the project “Summer in Moscow”. From June to August, they are organized by institutions subordinate to the capital Department of territorial executive authorities.
“In June alone, 33 family festivals were held for city residents – in almost every district of the capital. They united more than nine thousand residents of the districts through creativity, sports, intellectual and sports games,” said
Marina Prozorova, Deputy Head of the Department of Territorial Executive Authorities of Moscow.
During the family festivals “Faces” at least 20 events are held simultaneously. City residents participate in creative and dance master classes, sports races, yoga and Pilates classes, as well as career guidance quests for schoolchildren and students.
“Our Yard — Good Neighbors” combines intellectual games, sports relay races and thematic quizzes. And participants of the “Znatoki Rayon” festival study the sights and history of their district in a quiz format. In addition, Muscovites are invited to join sports and board games, do macrame, beadwork, paint wooden magnets, make compositions from dried flowers or figures from balloons.
“It is especially pleasant to watch how courtyards and squares come to life: cozy concerts, master classes and sports activities are organized there. Creative classes for children are held on such sites. They are especially interested in participating in interactive activities, and it is convenient that they do not have to travel far for this,” noted Irina Malkina, a participant in the festival.
Young people – activists of the Moscow Department of Territorial Executive Authorities – help the organizers of the institutions to carry out the events.
