“Today, Punjabi Albertans and Sikh communities across the province and around the world will come together to celebrate Vaisakhi, marking the spring harvest and the creation of the Khalsa in 1699.
“In honour of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru, many will participate in seva, a selfless act of service performed without expectation of reward, and a core pillar of the Sikh faith.
“To all those celebrating Vaisakhi, I wish you a joyful month filled with pride in your heritage and a strong sense of community.
“Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.”
