As part of the “Days of Historical and Cultural Heritage” campaign, the Museum of Moscow will host an exhibition dedicated to the creative path of artist Alexandra Bychkova and sculptor Sergei Koltsov. Although they were not perceived as a creative tandem in Soviet times, the exhibition allows us to trace the echoes between their artistic languages, combining elements of modernism, decorativeness and classicism.
The exhibition features paintings, sculptures, textile panels, graphics, and design objects from more than 20 museum and private collections. Particular attention is paid to their life between the two capitals — Moscow and Paris — as well as their personal history — letters, photographs, and family archives. The exhibition offers not only a retrospective look at the spouses’ work, but also provides answers to previously unfinished biographical stories, revealing the depth of their internal and artistic dialogue.
