BEIJING, May 15 (Xinhua) — The China Coast Guard (CCG) said on Thursday it has rescued eight foreign fishermen from a distressed vessel in the East China Sea.
The BOC successfully carried out a rescue operation on Tuesday after receiving an emergency report about the fishing vessel “887 EOJIN” from the Republic of Korea, which was in danger of capsizing due to damage to the hull due to large volumes of incoming water.
According to the BOC, the mentioned fishing vessel had been navigating at sea for 20 days prior to the incident.
On Wednesday, the rescued fishermen were handed over to the personnel of a South Korean Coast Guard vessel that was in the same part of the sea area. -0-
