CHENGDU, May 22 (Xinhua) — Four people have been confirmed dead after a roof collapsed at a coal mine in southwest China’s Sichuan Province on May 17, local authorities said Thursday.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Changsha Coal Mine in Wanyuan County-Level City, which is under the jurisdiction of Dazhou Prefectural-Level City. The four people were still missing at the time.

After several days of search and rescue operations, all of them were found, but none of them showed signs of life, rescuers noted.

The mine owner was detained by police. An investigation into the incident is underway.
