DUSHANBE, May 31 (Xinhua) — Shen Yueyue, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairwoman of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Committee on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, visited Tajikistan from May 30 to 31. During the visit, she met with President Emomali Rahmon.
Shen Yueyue conveyed warm greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to E. Rahmon and noted that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the China-Tajikistan comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era has maintained good momentum of development. China is willing to work with Tajikistan to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state and promote in-depth and practical cooperation to build a community with a shared future for China and Tajikistan. China is an activist and participant in global environmental governance and glacier protection, and is willing to work with all parties to fulfill common but differentiated responsibilities and build a clean and beautiful world.
E. Rahmon asked Shen Yueyue to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping and reaffirmed that Tajikistan will actively participate in the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, firmly support the three major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and jointly build the China-Central Asia mechanism. Tajikistan is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields and international cooperation on issues such as combating climate change.
Shen Yueyue attended and delivered a speech at the First International High-Level Conference on Glacier Protection, met with the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli (lower house of parliament) of the Republic of Tajikistan Faizali Idizoda, and also participated in the opening ceremony of the Center for China-Tajik Cooperation on the Prevention of Blindness within the framework of the “Health Express”. –0–
