D-Day: Through My Fingers, A V Corps Feature is a historical short that shares the experience of Jake Larson, a Soldier who landed on Omaha Beach with the first wave during the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
Told in Larson’s own words, the film also features commentary from V Corps Commanding General Lt. Gen. Charles Costanza and U.S. Army Europe and Africa Command Historian Michael Clauss. Together, they provide historical context and insight into Larson’s story; highlighting the scale of the operation, the leadership of Maj. Gen. Leonard T. Gerow, and the cost paid by Soldiers on that pivotal day.
The feature draws a connection between V Corps’ legacy in World War II and its current mission on NATO’s eastern flank. It underscores how partnerships forged on the beaches of Normandy continue to shape allied cooperation 81 years later.
