HARBIN, June 14 (Xinhua) — The meteorological bureau of northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province issued a red alert for heavy rain at 7 a.m. Saturday. Another 30-50 mm of rain is expected in the coming hours in the southern Baiquan County and Bei’an City, where more than 70 mm of rain has already fallen near the Nanhu Reservoir and Shiyuan Reservoir, respectively.
Authorities in these areas are advised to take measures to respond to possible emergency situations in connection with the downpours and, if necessary, promptly evacuate people from dangerous areas. -0-
