Khabarovsk, June 21 (Xinhua) — Direct rail service between the capital of the DPRK, Pyongyang, and Khabarovsk, the administrative center of Russia’s Khabarovsk Krai, was resumed recently.
On Saturday at noon, the first train after a five-year break arrived in Khabarovsk, departing from Pyongyang on the 19th. Travel time is just over two days.
Direct non-stop service between the two cities will be carried out once a month. From Pyongyang the train departs on the 19th and arrives in Khabarovsk on the 21st, from Khabarovsk on the 21st, arriving in Pyongyang on the 23rd of each month.
As reported earlier, passenger rail service between Moscow and Pyongyang resumed on June 17. The train that departed from the capital of the DPRK on that day will arrive in Moscow on June 25. Pyongyang-Moscow is the longest direct rail route in the world. The distance between the capitals of the states is more than 10 thousand km, and the travel time is 8 days.
