Resource Center “Mosvolonter” invites Muscovites to take part in the first in-person educational course onsocial design and intensive training for volunteer organizers “Five Keys”Under the guidance of mentors, students will prepare their projects for grant applications and learn how to manage volunteer teams.

“Trainings, courses, lectures and master classes of Mosvolonter have become a popular tool for developing the competencies of Moscow volunteers. Since the beginning of the year, more than 6.2 thousand Muscovites have completed the training. The new courses expand the opportunities for professional growth of volunteers. They have more gaming technologies and discussions of real cases. The training programs help to create their own projects and find like-minded people, manage volunteer corps of any scale,” said Alexander Levit, director of the Mosvolonter resource center.

For those who are just starting their journey in volunteering, as well as experienced assistants and leaders of volunteer associations, Mosvolonter has developed over 70 free training products over the course of its history – in-person and online courses, manuals and methodological materials.

Summer Meetings for Newbies

The summer half marathon for developing competencies “Mosvolonter” will be held in the capital from July 11 to 31. City residents will test their knowledge of the volunteer movement, gain new experience and offer solutions to real problems prepared by partner organizations. Registration will open on the website Mosvolonter.ru.

Beginning volunteers can join the program on July 12 “Get involved!”. The one-day intensive includes interactive classes, practical exercises, communication and experience exchange. The course will help city residents over 14 years old who just want to join the volunteering or have already become part of the community, master the basic knowledge of volunteering.

Intensive “Five Keys” for volunteer activity organizers will be held on July 17. It will be attended by leaders of volunteer associations in educational institutions and non-profit organizations, as well as city residents who want to gain new knowledge in preparing volunteer corps and managing them.

Muscovites will learn about the main stages of implementing an effective volunteer program: recruitment, preparation, support, motivation, and encouragement. The course will teach how to find volunteers for a team, prepare them for successful completion of tasks, and support the volunteer corps from the beginning to the end of the event. In the second part of the training, the participants will have a group session called “Five Steps of an Organizer.” They will work out a strategy for the actions of a manager in interaction with a volunteer team. Upon completion of the training, the participants will receive a certificate.

To prepare for the intensive course, anyone can take distance learning theory course, including a description of current technologies, universal methods and recommendations in the field of organizing and supporting the activities of volunteer associations.

Secrets of preparing a project for a grant

First intensive coursesocial design will take place from July 26 to 27. Volunteers, authors of youth initiatives and representatives of the non-profit sector aged 14 to 35 can join it.

Participants will learn the intricacies of writing a project application for a grant. Experts will tell you how to correctly formulate a goal and build a structure for your project, analyze the needs of the target audience and develop an event format suitable for participants. Students of the intensive course will learn how to draw up a budget, take risks into account, optimize resources and evaluate their own results.

Under the guidance of mentors, volunteers will be able to finalize a completed project and check the correctness of the grant application. Participants will also try to start developing a new idea from scratch. Those who wish will also receive post-support for their projects in the form of online consultations in the process of preparing an application for the second season of the correspondence competition “Rosmolodezh. Grants”.

Participants will be able to prepare for the intensive course in advance. In the library “Mosvolontera” presented a methodology for developing a socially useful project in the manual “Social design in volunteer activities”.

Organizing volunteer activities and involving volunteers in city events corresponds to the objectives of the national project “Youth and Children” and the federal project “We are together”.
