Specialists from the Moscow City Services Complex have laid over a thousand meters of new gas pipeline in the Voronovo district, completing 50 percent of the total work. This project is part of a large-scale program to develop gas infrastructure in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts. It will ensure reliable and uninterrupted gas supply to growing areas.
The project will involve laying more than two kilometers of high- and medium-pressure pipelines. The work is being carried out using modern trenchless technologies: horizontal directional drilling and auger boring. These methods will minimize interference with urban infrastructure, preserving the road surface and natural landscape.
Horizontal directional drilling allows laying pipes underground along a given trajectory using special installations. First, a pilot well is drilled, then it is expanded to the required parameters, and then a new gas pipeline is pulled. The second method involves laying a gas pipeline using an auger drilling rig. Unlike traditional open-pit work, this technology does not require digging a trench along the entire route. Modern polyethylene pipes are used to lay the gas pipeline. They are highly flexible, durable and long-lasting, resistant to corrosion and temperature fluctuations.
The specialists have already laid more than one kilometer of the gas pipeline. They also installed a new domestically produced cabinet gas pressure control unit, which reduces and stabilizes the gas pressure in the system. As part of the project, automated shut-off devices connected to the central control room of JSC Mosgaz will be installed. This will allow for prompt management of gas flows and a quick response to emergency situations.
The Moscow City Economy Complex noted that the new gas pipeline will provide reliable gas supply and will serve the city for more than 40 years. It meets modern technological standards and environmental regulations.
