In her speech at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new semiconductor plant of the European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company in Dresden on 20 August 2024, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen mentioned that the European Chips Act had already attracted commitments of public and private investments in the order of EUR 115 billion.

• 1.For which projects are funds being contributed by public and private sources to make up this sum, and in what amounts?
• 2.What is the overall breakdown in terms of EU funds, Member State funds and private investment?
• 3.To date, how much has already been disbursed and how much has only been pledged?
