almiller
Premier Ranj Pillai and Minister of Tourism and Culture John Streicker have issued the following statement:
“Since 1976, Heritage Day has been a time for Yukoners to celebrate what makes this territory extraordinary. It’s a chance to reflect on our history, honour our diverse cultures and recognize those who shaped the Yukon we know today.
“Yukon heritage is more than artifacts and stories – it’s a living part of who we are. From preserving sites of cultural and historical importance to supporting efforts to strengthen Yukon First Nations languages to uplifting cultural events, we all play a role in keeping our heritage alive for future generations.
“We thank the dedicated heritage folks who work tirelessly to preserve and share our rich history. A special thank you also goes to the organizers and volunteers of the Yukon Rendezvous Festival for keeping this cherished tradition vibrant and exciting year after year.
“We encourage Yukoners to take part in the festivities and experience all that the Yukon has to offer. Let’s come together to celebrate the creativity, resilience and spirit that make this territory so special.
“Happy Heritage Day!”
