“Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day period leading up to the most important day in the Christian calendar: Easter. Over the next 40 days, more than two million Christians in Alberta will join Christians from around the world in reflecting more closely on the life, teachings and suffering of Jesus Christ.
“As this season of Lent begins, I extend my warmest wishes to all those observing. May this time instill a deeper understanding of God’s grace and mercy, leading to a strengthened faith.”
