  • MIL-OSI USA: Reps. Costa, Kiggans Push for MORE Nurses to Address National Shortage

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Jim Costa Representing 16th District of California

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representatives Jim Costa (CA-21) and Jen Kiggans (VA-02) introduced H.R. 3333 – Magnifying Opportunities to Recruit and Educate (MORE) Nurses Act, bipartisan legislation aimed at addressing the growing nursing shortage nationwide. “The nursing shortage is not just a workforce crisis—it’s a public health emergency,” said Congressman Costa. “In the San Joaquin Valley and across the country, patients are waiting longer for care, and hospitals are operating beyond capacity. My legislation directs the federal government to step up with real solutions to train, recruit, and retain the nurses our communities desperately need.” “As a nurse practitioner, I know the vital role nurses play in communities across the country and have seen firsthand how the ongoing nursing shortage negatively impacts patients,” said Congresswoman Kiggans. “America’s nurses work from sun-up to sundown to provide lifesaving care, and we must do our part to provide them the training they need, prevent burnout in their workforce, and encourage more men and women to take up the profession. The MORE Nurses Act is a critical step to identify the root causes of our nation’s nursing shortage and deliver lasting solutions to support and rebuild our nursing workforce. I am proud to join Congressman Costa in introducing this bipartisan legislation to support our healthcare heroes.” BACKGROUNDThe United States is facing a critical shortfall in nurses, with the Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting a need for more than 275,000 additional nurses by 2030. California is among the hardest-hit states, and the shortage is even more severe in the San Joaquin Valley, where some communities have the lowest nurse-to-patient ratios in the state. A 2024 study by UCSF-Fresno found that the Valley would need to double its number of registered nurses to meet national benchmarks. The MORE Nurses Act will ensure the federal government is employing all the tools at its disposal to bolster the nursing workforce. This legislation directs the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice to take a comprehensive look at the crisis by:

Evaluating trends in the nursing workforce and the capacity of nursing schools to train future professionals.
Identifying barriers contributing to the shortage, particularly in rural and underserved regions.
Reviewing federal programs that support nursing education and promote diversity in the profession; and
Recommending concrete policy solutions to strengthen and expand the nursing pipeline.

The Council’s findings and policy recommendations will be delivered to Congress within one year and made available online to ensure public transparency and engagement from healthcare and education stakeholders.

  • Terror Inc.: How Pakistani Army has hijacked the state acting as an agent of Chaos & Conflict

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

Pakistan’s economy has long ceased to be a level playing field. While democratic institutions, civilian enterprises, and private sector innovation struggle to survive under chronic political instability and fiscal mismanagement, one institution not only survives but thrives i.e. the Pakistani Army. Far from being merely a military force, the army has built an unrivalled corporate empire that operates through a vast network of foundations, front companies, and patronage networks. This economic leviathan has embedded itself across vital sectors including real estate, banking, agribusiness, manufacturing, media, and logistics. Its control is not informal it is institutional, legalized through special exemptions, military-backed land ordinances, and bureaucratic dominance. As a result, the military runs a parallel economy that undermines competition, distorts public policy, and undermines democracy.

The cornerstone of the Pakistan Army’s corporate empire lies in its foundations i.e. semi-governmental yet commercially active entities that were originally set up for the welfare of ex-servicemen but have since evolved into sprawling conglomerates. The Fauji Foundation, founded in 1954, is the most powerful of these entities. Ostensibly a charitable trust, Fauji operates over three dozen subsidiaries including Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC), Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL), Fauji Oil Terminal & Distribution Company (FOTCO), and Askari Bank. FFC alone is one of Pakistan’s largest fertilizer producers, consistently generating billions in revenue and dividends, a significant portion of which goes back to the army. Askari Bank, likewise, operates under military supervision, with its board stacked with retired generals, and acts as a key financial vehicle for other military-affiliated ventures.

Another major player is the Army Welfare Trust (AWT), which controls more than 25 commercial enterprises. These range from AWT Investments and Askari General Insurance to sugar mills, textiles, trucking, and aviation services. In real estate, the Army’s footprint is massive. Through the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), the military has become the largest land developer in Pakistan, with projects in cities like Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Multan, Gujranwala, and Bahawalpur. DHA projects often involve coercive land acquisition, where civilian and minority-owned lands are seized under the pretext of national security or public interest, only to be converted into luxury gated communities for serving and retired officers.

The Pakistan Air Force operates the Shaheen Foundation, which manages diverse assets including FM radio stations, construction companies like Shaheen Builders, travel agencies, and educational institutions. The Pakistan Navy runs the Bahria Foundation, whose holdings include Bahria Maritime Services, Bahria University, and port-related logistics. Together, these four military foundations operate over 100 subsidiaries spanning dozens of industries, including grain storage, packaging, medical services, cement, and even advertising.

Despite being commercial entities, these businesses are shielded from competition and financial scrutiny. They enjoy tax exemptions, priority access to government contracts, and the use of military logistics and infrastructure. Their dominance pushes out private enterprises and distorts the market. Civilian regulators often headed by retired officers fail to hold them accountable. Moreover, much of the income generated is not reinvested into national development but siphoned off for the elite military class. The benefits of these ventures rarely trickle down to the rank-and-file soldiers, let alone the public. Instead, they create a closed-loop economy where military officers retire into boardrooms and continue to wield economic and political influence.

This commercial empire also acts as a platform for political control. The military uses its economic levers to shape media narratives, buy influence in the judiciary, and co-opt politicians. Media groups like the Nawa-i-Waqt Group and Bol News have faced closure or harassment when deviating from military narratives, while ISPR the army’s media wing actively funds propaganda campaigns and online troll armies. Business leaders who fund opposition parties are often subjected to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) probes, tax audits, or asset seizures. Through these tactics, the military consolidates not just wealth but unchallenged authority.

However, the most dangerous and opaque part of the army’s economic footprint lies in its integration with Pakistan’s narco-terror complex. From the days of the Soviet-Afghan war, when the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) under General Akhtar Abdur Rahman facilitated heroin production and smuggling to fund covert Mujahideen operations, the army’s involvement in narcotics has grown into a transnational pipeline. Opium grown in Afghanistan is processed in makeshift labs across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, then transported via Balochistan’s Makran coast and Karachi ports. The logistics for these movements are often handled through military-controlled transport units, particularly those attached to the National Logistics Cell (NLC), which has long enjoyed immunity from customs inspections.

Key individuals who are linked to this drug-financed ecosystem include former ISI chiefs like Hamid Gul and Shuja Pasha, both of whom oversaw extensive intelligence operations involving militant financing during their tenures. The Haqqani Network, long a proxy of the ISI, operated with impunity across the Af-Pak region and controlled smuggling routes for both arms and drugs. Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) have all received funding via hawala channels sourced from narco-trafficking and arms sales. The proceeds are laundered through front charities such as the Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) and ostensibly other organisational fronts registered in Gulf states.

In recent years, the growing convergence between Pakistan’s military and drug cartels operating in the Middle East, particularly in UAE and Oman, has given rise to a “military-narco-intelligence” axis. Front companies tied to retired army officials like Lt. Gen. Javed Nasir (former ISI chief) and certain members of the notorious business family have been implicated in narcotics laundering investigations across the Gulf and UK. The black money generated through this system is used to fund proxy wars in Jammu & Kashmir, Afghanistan, and increasingly Africa, where Pakistani mercenaries are now known to operate in conjunction with both Chinese and Turkish military logistics.

The arms trade is another critical node in this network. Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), based in Wah Cantt, manufactures everything from bullets and grenades to mortars and automatic rifles. While officially intended for the Pakistani military, these arms often find their way into conflict zones. Documented recoveries of POF-manufactured arms in India’s Jammu & Kashmir state, Syria, Libya, and Nigeria underscore how the ISI uses weapon flows to back proxy forces. Smuggling routes operate across the Durand Line, Baluchistan’s desert terrain, and even through diplomatic pouches. Pakistani naval assets, particularly cargo shipments flagged through Bahria Maritime Services, have been used for covert arms transfers. Intelligence intercepts in East Africa and the Persian Gulf have pointed to Pakistani arms deliveries to Hamas and Hezbollah intermediaries.

Pakistan’s terror infrastructure is essentially sustained through this fusion of narco profits, arms trade, and ideological training. Groups like Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), LeT, and JeM have training facilities, safehouses, and logistical support provided by elements within the army or the ISI. Interrogations of captured operatives have repeatedly revealed training stints at army-run camps in Muridke, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad. These groups serve multiple functions, they destabilize India, threaten Afghanistan, and help maintain chaos that justifies international military aid. Even China, despite its Balochistan investments, has turned a blind eye to this nexus, so long as its economic interests remain protected.

The role of state-affiliated institutions in laundering terror funds further reinforces the military’s omnipotence. The Habib Bank scandal in the United States, where the Pakistani bank was fined for facilitating transactions linked to terrorism, was just the tip of the iceberg. Banks like Askari Bank and Summit Bank, both closely tied to military interests, have come under scrutiny for suspicious transactions involving Gulf donors and shell companies. In Karachi, businessmen with ties to the MQM and ISI have also been accused of channelling narcotics profits into real estate and construction firms.

The political consequences of this militarized economy are immense. Civilian governments, lacking control over the purse or arms, are reduced to caretakers. Parliament has little say over defence budgeting. The judiciary, itself often filled with pro-military judges or intimidated through surveillance, rarely challenges army operations. In 2022, the controversial removal of Prime Minister Imran Khan initially backed and later discarded by the military illustrated how no political leader is safe from Rawalpindi’s coercive power once they deviate from script. Khan’s campaign to expose army interference led to mass arrests, internet blackouts, and an orchestrated crackdown, executed with both police and ISI coordination.

The Pakistani military’s role as an agent of regional chaos has long been subsidized by foreign powers seeking to use it as a counterweight to India’s rise. The United States alone has funnelled over $33 billion in military and economic aid to Pakistan since 2001, including $14.5 billion in Coalition Support Funds, much of which empowered the ISI’s proxy terror infrastructure rather than dismantling it. Simultaneously, the IMF has approved 23 bailout programs, the latest being a $1.02 billion package on 9th May 2025, effectively rescuing a bankrupt regime without civilian accountability. China, under the $62 billion CPEC initiative, has fortified its alliance with Pakistan’s military, funding dual-use infrastructure while arming it with drones, radar systems, and port access.

Turkey, too, has become a critical enabler exporting Bayraktar drones, expanding joint training, and backing Islamist networks aligned with Pakistani interests. Following India’s recent precision strikes on Pakistani airbases, including key terror installations in Muridke and Bahawalpur, these powers have grown visibly uneasy, fearing that India’s assertiveness could dismantle the utility of Pakistan as a destabilizing tool. Their aid, veiled as strategic cooperation, in reality props up a militarized state whose primary export is instability used not only to bleed India but also to disrupt the emergence of a multipolar Asia where India could assert sovereignty independent of Western or Chinese-led frameworks i.e. G2 Consensus.

MINSK, May 17 (Xinhua) — The winners of the worldwide competition “Chinese Language Bridge” among students and pupils of senior and junior grades of schools of Belarus were awarded in Minsk on Friday. The ceremony was held at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan noted that this event had become a real holiday for all lovers of the Chinese language in Belarus. “I was deeply impressed by the sincere love of the Belarusian participants for the Chinese language and their brilliant performance at the competition. The “Chinese Language Bridge” has been held for 24 years and has become an important platform for learning the Chinese language, getting to know the Chinese civilization, strengthening mutual understanding and friendship among young people abroad. It has become a kind of calling card of humanitarian exchanges between China and other countries of the world,” Zhang Wenchuan noted.

He also wished the three winners, who will represent Belarus at the final of the “Chinese Language Bridge” competition in China this year, to achieve new successes.

First Deputy Minister of Education of Belarus Alexander Bakhanovich drew attention to the fact that the country has been attaching special importance to popularizing the study of the Chinese language for almost 20 years. “Today, more than 6,000 students in 48 schools and 15 universities study Chinese as a subject. Another 60 schools study Chinese in optional classes,” he said.

According to him, Belarusian schools and universities are provided with all the necessary textbooks for studying the Chinese language. “This year, the Minsk State Linguistic University will have its tenth graduation of Chinese language teachers. For eight years, the Confucius Republican Institute of Chinese Studies of the Belarusian State University has been successfully retraining teachers of comprehensive schools in Chinese. This allows us to provide our schools with highly qualified specialists,” A. Bakhanovich noted.

He recalled that in October 2024, the seventh Confucius Institute in Belarus was opened at the A.A. Kuleshov Mogilev State University. “In the near future, the eighth Confucius Institute is expected to open at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno,” A. Bakhanovich said. –0–

  • MIL-OSI USA: Ranking Member Omar Opening Remarks at Subcommittee Hearing on OSHA’s Mission to Keep Workers Safe

Source: United States House of Representatives – Representative Ilhan Omar (DFL-MN)

WASHINGTON Ranking Member Ilhan Omar (MN-05) delivered the following opening statement at Workforce Protections Subcommittee hearing entitled, “Reclaiming OSHA’s Mission: Ensuring Safety Without Overreach.”

“Thank you, Chairman, and thank you to our witnesses for your testimony today.

“Over the past 100 days, President Trump and his administration have decimated the very agencies and resources that keep workers safe and healthy.  Now, Committee Republicans are following suit by holding this hearing to attack the work of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

“We should all be able to recognize a basic truth: no job should ever be a death sentence.  Workers deserve to come home to their families at the end of the day- not in pain, not in fear, but alive and well.

“To protect that fundamental right, Congress passed landmark safety laws and established important agencies like OSHA, the Mine Safety and Health Administration, and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.  But all three of these agencies have been chronically underfunded since their inception.  And, largely because of that, they have long struggled to robustly defend workers from preventable injuries, illnesses, and death at work.

“In the 54 years since it was established, OSHA has made great strides, but it remains hamstrung by an overly complicated regulatory process, persistent underfunding, and the long, uphill battle of updating standards to reflect scientific advances.

“Despite these constraints, OSHA took action during the Biden Administration and proposed common-sense safeguards, like the heat stress rule, to prevent tragedies in the workplace.   Rather than build on that progress, the Trump Administration is now threatening to dismantle any government program or agency that prioritizes workers’ health and protects workers on the job.

“At one point, DOGE targeted at least 11 OSHA field offices to be permanently shut down – including the only office in Louisiana, located in what is known as ‘Cancer Alley’ due to the presence of over 200 chemical plants and the high rates of cancer in the area. MSHA had at least 30 field offices slated for closure on DOGE’s hit list, including an office created in response to the Upper Big Branch Mine disaster.  And while we face a surge in child labor violations, DOGE is still cutting staff and planning to close 20 Wage and Hour Division offices.

“Shutting down field offices will endanger workers’ lives by cutting off the public from DOL’s most vital services.  This also means severely limiting the geographic coverage of inspectors’ and investigators’ enforcement activities against law-breaking companies and further straining an already resource-strapped DOL.  And it doesn’t stop here.

“On April 1st, nearly the entire NIOSH workforce was placed on leave, with the promise of being fired later this summer by HHS Secretary Kennedy.  In one sweeping move, Secretary Kennedy put 50 years of scientific expertise and public health research at risk.

“DOGE kicked out NIOSH staffers, paid them to not work, and then – after realizing that effectively eliminating NIOSH was a mistake – the Trump Administration started to reverse course and rehire only some of those staffers.  This entire circus was wasteful, expensive, and harmful for workers; a description that could apply to most of DOGE’s actions.

“Workers are not expendable.  They are not a statistic.  OSHA and NIOSH do the essential work of keeping workers safe.  We must fund them properly and strengthen the laws the support their mission.

“In my own district, we are already feeling the consequences of these cuts: The University of Minnesota’s Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety is one of just 18 NIOSH-funded Education and Research Centers in the nation.  It trains the next generation of workplace safety experts in the region and helps protect our workers in high-risk industries.

“Without NIOSH, the invaluable research and workforce development provided by that Center—and others like it across the country—will be lost.  That means fewer trained medical and safety professionals, less research capacity to prevent fatal accidents, and, ultimately, more injuries, more deaths, and more grieving families.

“Democrats are committed to honoring those workers who have been harmed or killed on the job, not just with words, but with action to change the system.

“Recently, Ranking Member Scott, Representative Courtney, and I reintroduced the Protecting America’s Workers Act – a bill that would make long-overdue improvements to the enforcement of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.  This bill would expand coverage to millions of workers currently excluded from the law’s protections and strengthen whistleblower protections.  These reforms are critical to preventing the most serious violations that endanger workers’ safety.

“Democrats are also championing legislation to protect healthcare and social service workers from violence, to make mining safer, and to prevent illness and injury from extreme heat.

“This is what it means to have an agenda to ensure safety.  And with that in mind, I hope that we can have a productive discussion today.

“Thank you, and I yield back.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Reps. Hudson, Pfluger, Balderson Lead Bill to Stop Flawed Social Cost of Energy from Driving Burdensome Regulations

Source: United States House of Representatives – Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Richard Hudson (NC-09), along with Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman August Pfluger (TX-11) and RSC House Energy Action Team Chairman (HEAT) Troy Balderson (OH-12), introduced the Transparency and Honesty in Energy Regulation Act in the House and Senator James Lankford (OK) introduced the legislation in the Senate. This bill would prohibit the federal government from using the flawed social cost of carbon, methane, nitrous oxide, or any other greenhouse gas metric in the rulemaking process.

“The Biden-Harris Administration used every tool at their disposal to advance their radical green agenda. My bill ensures that going forward, no Administration can use inaccurate, unreliable standards to pass dangerous regulations,” said Rep. Hudson.

“For too long, unelected bureaucrats have relied upon biased and flawed research to wage war against American energy producers. To unleash a new era of American energy dominance, we must rein in onerous regulations that hamstring our economy. I thank Representative Hudson, Senator Lankford, and RSC HEAT Chair Balderson for leading this effort to get rid of ‘social cost of carbon’ estimates once and for all,” said RSC Chairman Pfluger.

“As Administrator Zeldin noted last month in his historic deregulatory announcement, social cost of carbon hurts the United States’ global competitiveness and increases our reliance on foreign energy producers. I applaud Representative Hudson and Senator Lankford for leading this important bill,” said RSC HEAT Chairman Balderson.

“Under President Trump, American energy dominance is back, and states like Oklahoma are fueling the charge,” said Sen. Lankford. “This bill pushes back on the Biden Administration’s war on American energy producers by ensuring federal rulemaking is grounded in facts—not flawed models or political agendas. It’s a necessary step to restore transparency, rein in government overreach, and keep American energy competitive.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Aderholt Underscores Strengthening American Health and Well-Being During Hearing with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04)

Washington, D.C. – Today, Robert Aderholt (R-AL), Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies, underscored the critical need to strengthen public health systems and enhance the well-being of Americans. The hearing featured testimony from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who discussed the Department’s FY26 priorities.

“Despite spending nearly $2 trillion annually on health care, America continues to face unacceptable health outcomes,” said Chairman Aderholt. “We need bold, innovative approaches—not simply more spending—to truly improve the health of our citizens. I’m encouraged by Secretary Kennedy’s willingness to bring fresh perspectives and reforms to HHS.”

During his opening remarks, Chairman Aderholt welcomed Secretary Kennedy, noting his recent confirmation and swift engagement in the Administration’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative. Aderholt expressed his hope that Kennedy’s leadership will catalyze needed reforms and restore public trust in health agencies.

Chairman Aderholt specifically highlighted key challenges facing rural communities like those in Alabama—including disproportionately high rates of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, coupled with mounting pressures on rural hospitals and persistent shortages in the health care workforce.

“The health care challenges in rural America are urgent and deeply personal for the communities we serve,” Aderholt noted. “I’m committed to working with Secretary Kennedy to find practical, life-affirming solutions to protect access to care and support our rural hospitals and providers.”

Aderholt also praised the Secretary’s commitment to protecting the sanctity of life and the conscience rights of medical professionals, stating, “As a strong supporter of the right to life, I appreciate Secretary Kennedy’s pledge to uphold these fundamental values.”

During the hearing, Chairman Aderholt raised concerns about previous actions taken under the Biden administration that undermined pro-life protections. He cited reports that the CDC funded abortion-related activities overseas in violation of the Helms Amendment, and that Title X funding had been denied to states for not providing abortion counseling, contrary to their laws.

Additionally, the Congressman acknowledged the public health impact of President Trump’s success in curbing illegal border crossings, including the 54% reduction in fentanyl inflow and a sharp decline in the trafficking of unaccompanied minors. “The President’s actions at the border are not only a national security issue but a public health victory as well,” he said.

The hearing also focused on proposed structural reforms at HHS, including the creation of a new Administration for a Healthy America and efforts to overhaul the National Institutes of Health. Aderholt expressed optimism about these initiatives and reiterated his commitment to a collaborative legislative process.

“Reforming Washington is never easy,” Aderholt concluded, “but we in Congress stand ready to work with the Secretary and the Administration to deliver lasting, meaningful improvements to our health care system.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Kansas City Lawmakers Support National Historic Landmark Designation of Quindaro Townsite

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II (5th District Missouri)

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO), Derek Schmidt (R-KS), and Sharice Davids (D-KS) have called on the National Park Service to designate the Quindaro Townsite in Wyandotte County as a National Historic Landmark. The Kansas City, Kansas site served as a critical entry point for anti-slavery settlers and a sanctuary for those escaping bondage via the Underground Railroad prior to and during the U.S. Civil War.

“The Quindaro Townsite is a vital piece of U.S. history that demonstrates our national commitment to liberty and self-determination, which ought to be celebrated and shared with future generations,” said Congressman Cleaver. “Just as I was proud to introduce the bipartisan Quindaro Townsite National Historic Landmark Act with Reps. Schmidt and Davids, I’m once again honored to advocate for the designation of Quindaro as a National Historic Landmark, preserving this important chapter in America’s story until the end of time.”

“Quindaro is a meaningful part of our region, state, and country’s history,” Congressman Schmidt said. “Recognizing the site as a National Historic Landmark will provide the designation necessary to properly preserve the legacy of this important historical site. I’m proud to lead my fellow Kansas City area lawmakers in this effort.”

“Quindaro is a powerful part of Kansas’ history in the fight for freedom and equality, but for too long, local preservation efforts of this important site have lacked much-needed resources,” Representative Davids said. “I’m proud to work with Representatives Schmidt and Cleaver to ensure this site receives the recognition and protection it deserves through a National Historic Landmark designation.”

Founded in 1857, Quindaro emerged as a beacon for Free-State advocates during the turbulent “Bleeding Kansas” era. Strategically located along the Missouri River, it served as a critical entry point for anti-slavery settlers and a sanctuary for those escaping bondage via the Underground Railroad. The town’s establishment was a collaborative effort among the Wyandot Nation, New England abolitionists, and African American settlers, exemplifying a unique and harmonious multicultural alliance during a period marked by division and conflict.

Beyond its pivotal role in the anti-slavery movement, Quindaro became a nucleus for post-Civil War African American advancement. The establishment of the Quindaro Freedman’s School, later known as Western University, marked a significant milestone as the first Black school west of the Mississippi River. Institutions like Douglass Hospital further underscored the town’s commitment to education and healthcare within the African American community.

Archaeological excavations have unveiled a wealth of artifacts, offering invaluable insights into the daily lives of Quindaro’s diverse inhabitants. The site’s preserved foundations and structures provide a tangible connection to this rich history. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 2002, Quindaro’s significance has been further acknowledged through its designation as a National Commemorative Site in 2019.

In 2023, the lawmakers introduced the Quindaro Townsite National Historic Landmark Act to designate the Quindaro Townsite as a National Historic Landmark.

The official letter from lawmakers is available here.

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II (5th District Missouri)

(Washington, D.C.) – In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week, U.S. Representatives Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) and Sam Graves (R-MO) introduced a resolution in the House of Representatives to recognize the dedication and lasting impact of America’s teachers. This bipartisan resolution highlights the important role that teachers play in shaping the next generation to become productive, responsible, and successful citizens, and encourages every American to show appreciation for the teachers in their life.

“America’s teachers play an invaluable role in shaping our children, and the future of the country, into the resilient, intelligent, and morally virtuous individuals we expect them to become,” said Congressman Cleaver. “During Teacher Appreciation Week, I’m proud to join my friend Sam Graves in introducing this bipartisan resolution to formally recognize the important work educators do in Missouri and all across this great nation. On behalf of the communities we represent and from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your service.”

“Our dedicated teachers go above and beyond to ensure that our children have the best possible education,” said Congressman Graves. “They show up every day to help students succeed, learn, and grow. I’ve been lucky to learn from great teachers throughout my life, and I’ve seen the same impact on my kids and grandkids. Thank you to all of America’s teachers. During Teacher Appreciation Week and every week, we thank the educators who shape our communities and help prepare our children for a successful future.”

Congressman Cleaver has been a strong supporter of public education and American teachers. In 2023, Congressman Cleaver co-introduced the American Teacher Act to incentivize states to establish a K-12 teacher salary requirement of at least $60,000. Additionally, Rep. Cleaver previously called on Governor Parson to strengthen Missouri’s education system by boosting teacher pay. In March, following President Trump’s illegal executive order to dismantle the Department of Education, Cleaver hosted Rep. Bobby Scott (D-VA), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Education and Workforce, in Kansas City to meet with local educators in Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District to discuss the impact of potential cuts to public education.

The bipartisan resolution is cosponsored by Representatives Angie Craig (D-MN), Ed Case (D-HI), and Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR).

  • MIL-OSI USA: Congressman Cleaver, Local Federal Employees Hold Press Conference Condemning Cuts to Federal Workforce

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II (5th District Missouri)

(Kansas City, MO) – Today, U.S. Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (D-MO) held a press conference with local employees from the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Missouri National Education Association (MNEA), National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC), and the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) to highlight the impact of the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s cuts to the federal workforce. More than 30,000 federal workers are employed in Missouri’s Fifth Congressional District, with one economist estimating the region could lose 6,000 good-paying federal jobs, which could wipe out thousands of other jobs in the process.

“The Trump administration and Elon Musk have treated our federal workforce like a disposable expense, rather than the backbone of a functioning democracy,” said Congressman Cleaver. “Slashing jobs, hollowing out agencies, and undermining public service isn’t reform – it’s sabotage. I’m proud to stand with the unions representing the men and women who keep this country running. Today’s gathering is a line in the sand. We’re standing with the workers who’ve been silenced, sidelined, and scapegoated – and we won’t let billionaires hollow out public service under the guise of efficiency without a fight.”

    The basics:

    Where do federal employees work?

    • Federal employees work in every congressional district in the country. In fact, 80 percent of the 2.3 million federal civilian employees work outside the D.C. region. As a result, mass firings have the potential to not only affect government services, but also to disrupt local economies.

What departments employ the most federal employees?

    • Eight departments each employ over 100,000 civilian employees. They are the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Homeland Security, Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, Department of the Air Force, Department of Justice, Department of Treasury, and other Department of Defense employees not included in the branches of the military. Employees at these agencies account for almost 75 percent of the federal civilian workforce, not including U.S. Postal Service workers.

How much money is spent on federal employees?

    • Approximately 4 percent of all federal spending is compensation for civilian employees. In fiscal year 2022, the federal government spent $6.3 trillion in total outlays but only $271 billion was from compensation to civilian employees. For comparison, the gross tax gap from taxes the wealthy owe but refuse to pay is approximately $696 billion, or 2.5 times more than all compensation to civilian employees. Total civilian employee compensation is dwarfed by the amounts that wealthy tax cheats don’t pay in taxes.
    • Moreover, as Congressional Republicans enable DOGE cuts in communities across the country, they are currently working to pass a $4.5 trillion tax cut that overwhelmingly benefits the top 5% of Americans.

  • MIL-OSI USA: Scott: Republican Budget is a Big, Bad Bill

Source: {United States House of Representatives – Congressman Bobby Scott (3rd District of Virginia)

Headline: Scott: Republican Budget is a Big, Bad Bill

WASHINGTON, D.C.:  Congressman Bobby Scott (VA-03) delivered the following statement at the House Budget Committee’s failed markup of Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2025, H. Con. Res. 14, President Trump’s so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill Act”:

Thank you, Mr. Chairman. It’s hard to take my colleagues on the other side of the aisle seriously when they come here and give speech after speech after speech, complaining about the deficit and then support this reconciliation plan that INCREASES the deficit. But this should not come as a surprise because every single Democratic president and presidential administration since Kennedy has left for their Republican successors a better deficit situation than the one they inherited. And every single Republican presidential administration since Nixon has left a WORSE deficit situation for the Democrats than the one they inherited. All without exception.

“So here we go again. A Republican president following a Democratic president. The Republicans are here to make speeches about deficits and debts, and then again set to increase the deficit and national debt just like clockwork. So, the reason we have all this debt is because Democrats have not been able to clean up the Republican messes as quickly as they make them.

“This bill not only increases the deficit, it makes working families pay a price. As the Ranking Member of the Committee on Education and Workforce, I am particularly outraged Republicans want to fund tax cuts for corporations and billionaires by making cuts in educational and nutritional programs. This bill uses taxpayers’ money to take resources from public schools, which serve 90% of students, and divert them to private schools. The bill also harms children’s access to school meal programs and makes it harder for students to afford a college education.

“So, there’s nothing fiscally responsible about this budget and working families and middle-class families will pay the price.

“Programs that keep kids, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities from going hungry and ensure that students receive a quality education should not be on the chopping block. And after weeks of statements from Republican members that the budget they voted for twice does not cut Medicaid, this bill will rip away health care away from millions of Americans using Medicaid and makes health care more expensive for everyone else.

“This Big, Bad Bill is a collection of bad policies. It kicks millions of people off their health care, threatens food security for millions of families, makes it harder for students to afford education, and diverts taxpayer resources from public schools. It does all of this to give corporations and wealthy billionaires a tax cut and then it makes our debt worse. I urge my colleagues to vote no on this legislation.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Schakowsky, Padilla, Merkley Introduce Bicameral Bill to Strengthen Nursing Staff Standards, Improve Patient Care

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (9th District of Illinois)

    Full Text of Bill (PDF)

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, on International Nurses Day, U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky and U.S. Senators Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) introduced the Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act to improve hospital patient care and nurse retention by setting mandatory minimum registered nurse-to-patient staffing ratios.

There are no federal mandates regulating the number of patients a registered nurse (RN) can care for at one time in U.S. hospitals. As a result, RNs are consistently required to care for more patients than is safe, negatively impacting patient outcomes. Studies show that when RNs are forced to care for too many patients at one time, patients are at higher risk of preventable medical errors, avoidable complications, falls and injuries, pressure sores, increased length of hospital stay, higher numbers of hospital readmissions, and death. For each additional surgical patient in a registered nurse’s workload above the baseline nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, the likelihood of patient death within 30 days increases by seven percent.

“I am proud to reintroduce the Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act with Senators Padilla and Merkley that will establish registered nurse-to-patient ratios in hospitals, provide whistleblower protection for nurses who advocate on behalf of their patients, and invest in training and career development to retain hardworking nurses in the workforce,” said Congresswoman Schakowsky. “For years, I’ve talked to exhausted nurses who have said they go home at night, wondering if they forgot to turn a patient because they were stretched far too thin. Study after study shows that safe nurse-to-patient staffing ratios result in higher quality care for patients, lower health care costs, and a better workplace for nurses. It is past time that we act on the evidence, give nurses the support they deserve, and put patients over profits. Let’s get it done!”

“Every patient deserves access to quality care, but the registered nursing staffing crisis across the country is putting patients at risk and leading to preventable health complications, especially in communities of color,” said Senator Padilla. “The numbers are clear: California’s mandatory minimum nurse-to-patient ratio is saving lives. Extending safe staffing at hospitals across the country is long overdue and is essential to retaining our nursing workforce and improving health outcomes.”

“As the husband of a nurse, I’ve seen how our health care heroes give so much to keep communities in Oregon healthy every day,” said Senator Merkley, Co-Chair of the Senate Nursing Caucus. “As we celebrate National Nurses Week, I am committed to fighting for safe staffing levels for both nurses and patients, to enhance the quality of patient care, reduce medical errors, and increase nurse retention. Nurses make the world so much better, one bedside at a time, and Congress must do all it can to tackle the challenges these life-saving professionals face.”

“Nurses are constantly forced by our employers to care for too many patients than is safe. Yet, during National Nurses Week, those same employers hang banners or give out a free cookie to show their appreciation of us. It’s a slap in the face,” said Nancy Hagans, RN and NNU president. “Our patients deserve high-quality care, and nurses have always stood up to protect our patients. It’s time hospital managers are mandated to staff our units safely for our patients’ sake and to actually give nurses the resources and respect we deserve.”

“Nurses know from caring for patients at the bedside, that safe nurse-to-patient staffing ratios save lives. CNA fought for and won legislation in California ensuring safe staffing ratios, and unfortunately two decades later, we are still the only state in the country with a law of its kind,” said Sandy Reding, RN and CNA/NNOC President. “Nurses come to California from all over because of our ratios, and we are proud to continue the fight on the national level until every nurse is guaranteed safe staffing ratios, and our patients and our profession are protected.”

“The understaffing crisis at hospitals and health care facilities puts 60 million older Americans at risk every year,” said Richard Fiesta, Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans. “This legislation will improve patient safety and health outcomes by requiring all healthcare facilities to maintain adequate nurse staffing ratios. Nurses, patients, and family members deserve nothing less.”

“As some in Congress try to cut healthcare to hand tax breaks to billionaires, others are trying to invest in the safe staffing levels needed for high-quality patient care. All too often, patients face interminable delays, overcrowded waiting rooms, and understaffing that puts them in danger. It does not have to be this way. In many cases, we have enough qualified nurses, but they’ve been driven from the bedside by a healthcare system that puts profits over patients. With this bill, Rep. Schakowsky and Sens. Padilla and Merkley give us a path forward that holds hospitals accountable for staffing levels. These standards will improve outcomes for patients, make healthcare careers more sustainable and, in a medical emergency, reassure families that their local hospital is a safe place to get the care they need,” said Randi Weingarten, President, AFT: Education, Healthcare, Public Services.

“Hospitals across the U.S. are faced with an intensifying staffing crisis, leaving dedicated nurses with no choice but to turn to jobs with better working conditions, regrettably leaving the patients they love and care for,” said Martha Baker, RN, Chairperson of the Nurse Alliance of SEIU Healthcare. “Congress needs to pass safe staffing ratios to allow all nurses—regardless of where we live or where we work—to provide the high-quality care that our patients need and deserve.

“One nurse can be responsible for the care of an entire hospital floor — keeping multiple patients alive and on the path to recovery,” said AFSCME President Lee Saunders. “They are truly the front-line heroes of our health care system, but they’re also human. Too often, they’re stretched thin, working exhausting hours that put patient care and their own health at risk. The Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act gives nurses the backup they need to keep themselves and their patients safe and healthy. On behalf of the over 60,000 nurses in our AFSCME family, we thank Senator Padilla and Representative Schakowsky for championing real solutions for care and safety.”

Studies have also found that registered nurse staffing levels in hospitals that serve communities of color are often lower, exacerbating health care disparities. Setting a single standard of nursing care across hospitals would improve outcomes for patients, including patients of color, through reduced readmission rates, increased satisfaction, and better obstetrical outcomes.

Specifically, the Nurse Staffing Standards for Hospital Patient Safety and Quality Care Act would:

    • Require hospitals to annually develop safe staffing plans that meet the bill’s mandated minimum RN staffing ratios and provide for additional staffing based on individual patient care needs;
    • Mandate that hospitals post notices on minimum ratios and maintain records on RN and other staffing;
    • Provide whistleblower protections, including administrative complaint process and cause of action, for nurses who speak out against assignments that are unsafe for the patient or nurse;
    • Authorize the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services to enforce the minimum RN staffing ratios through administrative complaints and civil penalties.

The bill is endorsed by organizations including National Nurses United, California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee, Alliance for Retired Americans, American Federation of Teachers (AFT), SEIU Healthcare, and American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

  • MIL-OSI USA: Congressman Johnson Meets With Local Head Start, SNAP, Medicaid Stakeholders To Discuss Drastic Trump-Republican Cuts

Source: United States House of Representatives – Representative Hank Johnson (GA-04)

Congressman Held Roundtable With Local Stakeholders

STONECREST, GA – On Friday, May 9, Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04) gathered local nonprofits, parents and experts in the field of providing critical services to children in need, including the YMCA, Head Start, Easter Seals, Sheltering Arms and others to discuss the impact of drastic cuts to programs that keep children safe and healthy.

“I’m seeing firsthand what Republican program cuts could jeopardize – it’s a very serious dilemma our country now faces,” said Rep. Johnson. “Are we going to invest in people, or are we going to give tax cuts to those at the top? I’m also struck by how many medical and service providers’ livelihoods are at stake – there are so many people whose job it is to deliver these services. I, for one, am going to keep fighting for these critical programs.”

The Republican budget bill moving through Congress cuts Medicaid and food assistance by $1 trillion, ripping away basic needs programs that help tens of millions of everyday Americans. The Republican budget will cause nearly 14 million Americans to lose their health care and raise health care costs for millions more. Hospitals across America will close, critical services will be cut, and as one of the roundtable participants said, people will die. The Republican budget takes food assistance away from millions of kids, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.

Federal dollars underpin the services upon which all Georgians — including babies and toddlers — rely. Without these dollars, hospitals will continue to close, more children will be food insecure, and parents will be unable to work due to lack of childcare. These funding reductions will harm all Georgians and the state’s economy; however, the effects will be felt most severely by those most vulnerable, including children.

The Congressman was joined by a parent whose Medicaid grants helped his 10-month-old with leukemia and a mother whose twins’ access to Head Start lets her earn a living during the day. Also in attendance Hanah Goldberg, Director of Research and Policy, GEEARS; Alejandra Martinez, Director of Family Services, Sheltering Arms; Andria McMichael, Vice President of Early Learning, YMCA of Metro Atlanta Head Start; Donna Davidson, President & CEO of Easter Seals of North Georgia (ESNG); Polly McKinney, Advocacy Director, Voices for Georgia’s Children; Chad Jones, Vice President for Business Development, View Point Health; Matt Pieper, Chief Executive Officer, Open Hand Atlanta.

“We are worried about any cuts,” said Donna Davidson, President & CEO of Easter Seals of North Georgia. “All of the children in our program, whether its federal funding for Head Start, Medicaid or SNAP – any cuts to those programs would be devastating to so many families that are already dealing with challenges.”

Introduction: The Allure and Risks of Fast Wealth in 2025

In an era where digital side hustles and AI-powered income streams dominate headlines, the idea of building fast wealth in 2025 has never been more appealing—or more confusing. With countless systems promising shortcuts to financial freedom, one platform gaining viral attention is the Fast Wealth program, paired with the Get Dumb Money Works System. It claims to offer a 30-second phone ritual that unlocks subconscious wealth pathways, helping users move from “broke by default” to a wealth-oriented mindset.

But with bold promises come even bolder questions: Is this method truly effective? Can a mindset shift alone lead to passive income and financial breakthroughs? Or is this just another cleverly packaged affiliate marketing funnel?

This in-depth review will explore the complete Fast Wealth ecosystem, examining what’s real, what’s risky, and what users need to know before diving in.

Let’s find out if this is the best Fast Wealth method in 2025—or just another hyped-up shortcut that fails to deliver.

    Understanding the Fast Wealth Program

The Fast Wealth program is marketed as a beginner-friendly solution for those seeking to make money online in 2025. At its core, the platform claims to simplify the often complex world of affiliate marketing and digital income generation. Focusing on mindset shifts and “easy-to-follow steps,” it promises to guide users through a process that allegedly delivers quick and repeatable financial results.

    What the Program Includes

Fast Wealth offers access to a digital portal that features training videos, quick-start guides, and daily rituals. These are designed to help users align their subconscious thoughts with wealth-oriented behaviors. Much of the marketing centers around the idea that wealth creation isn’t just about tactics—it’s about reprogramming how you think and act around money.

Although the material is light on technical depth, it attempts to cover topics such as:

    • Affiliate product promotion strategies
    • Simple funnel templates and copywriting hooks
    • The “Get Dumb Money” 30-second ritual
    • Daily repetition for subconscious habit installation

    Accessibility and Platform

The program is distributed through ClickBank, one of the most well-known digital product marketplaces. This provides a level of payment security and support that many users value, especially when dealing with emerging personal finance products.

    Refund Policy and Pricing

At the time of writing, the Fast Wealth program is available for a one-time fee of $39. It also comes with a 120-day money-back guarantee, promoted as no-questions-asked.

Disclaimer: Always check the official website for the most accurate pricing and refund information. Offers and access terms may change without notice.

    What the Program Promises

The core promise of the Fast Wealth system is speed. By following simple steps and engaging with the Get Dumb Money ritual daily, users are told they can generate results quickly, without needing prior experience, a website, or enormous startup costs. However, specifics on how the actual income is earned remain vague, and the promotional materials rely heavily on emotional appeal rather than data-backed claims.

Discover the 30-second phone ritual claiming to rewire your wealth mindset—start your Fast Wealth journey today before this exclusive offer expires.

Delving into the Get Dumb Money System

The Get Dumb Money System is a central piece of the Fast Wealth platform, promoted as a breakthrough subconscious technique for rewiring the way users think about wealth. Branded as a “30-second phone ritual,” it is designed to be simple, repeatable, and instantly actionable—ideal for those looking to see fast changes without extensive learning curves or heavy workloads.

    What Is the 30-Second Ritual?

At the heart of the system is a short audio or video sequence that users are instructed to engage with daily, typically using their phone. The ritual is framed as a tool to reprogram the subconscious mind by:

    • Interrupting old, scarcity-based thought patterns
    • Installing a new identity rooted in abundance and financial confidence
    • Replacing the default “broke mindset” with what the system calls a “Money Magnet Identity”

It draws on popular behavioral psychology techniques such as visualization, repetition, and affirmations, though no scientific studies are cited within the material to back up the claimed financial outcomes.

Psychological Framing: From Scarcity to Wealth Identity

The creators suggest that most people fail financially because they’ve been unknowingly programmed to self-sabotage. The Get Dumb Money System aims to counteract this through:

    • Daily mental pattern resets
    • Anchoring thoughts of success through simple sensory triggers (like phone rituals)
    • Using repetition to create “automatic abundance behaviors”

While this approach aligns with some foundational theories in neuroscience and self-development, the financial claims tied to it, like attracting money “effortlessly,” should be viewed cautiously.

Disclaimer: While mindset and behavior training may offer personal benefits, there are no guarantees that this will directly result in income generation. Financial success typically requires consistent effort, strategic planning, and a mix of proven actions.

    Why It Appeals

The system’s simplicity is its strongest selling point. With no technical skills required and no lengthy modules to absorb, it attracts those who feel overwhelmed by more complex business models. It also heavily appeals to emotional pain points, like frustration with debt or feeling stuck financially.

However, the lack of transparency about how it connects to actual revenue generation (e.g., affiliate links, ad monetization, digital sales) limits its credibility when evaluated strictly as a wealth-building method.

    Evaluating the Legitimacy

While the Get Dumb Money System and the broader Fast Wealth program are marketed with confidence and urgency, it’s crucial to examine their legitimacy through a more objective lens. Many systems in the “make money online” category walk a fine line between motivation and manipulation, and this one is no exception.

    Common Red Flags

Several warning signs have been raised by users, watchdog reviewers, and independent analysts:

    • Vague implementation steps – Much of the material relies on emotional framing rather than practical, step-by-step strategies.
    • Generic content – Some users report that the advice inside mirrors free content already available through YouTube or public affiliate training forums.
    • Hidden upsells—Although the entry price is low, there are suggestions that additional costs or offers are presented after purchase.
    • Lack of transparency—The system does not have a visible team behind it, and many of the testimonials provided are not independently verified.

    Trust Ratings and External Reviews

Online security and scam-detection platforms have flagged the FastWealth.io and GetDumbMoney.com websites with low trust ratings. This doesn’t automatically confirm a scam, but it does indicate a lack of verifiable reputation, which is especially concerning in the financial advice space.

    For instance:

    • Scam Detector rates FastWealth.io poorly, citing domain anonymity and promotional vagueness.
    • MalwareTips and Infoquu both note patterns that match standard high-risk digital product funnels, such as exaggerated claims, refund overuse, and unsourced testimonials.
    • The language used throughout promotional materials also mirrors known psychological manipulation techniques, often seen in short-term marketing scams.

What Does This Mean for Serious Users?

Those seeking legitimate financial transformation should proceed with caution. While the system may provide motivational value or encourage personal reflection, it does not offer a documented path to income. The real risk lies in confusing “mindset enhancement” with reliable financial models.

The absence of precise business mechanics, such as affiliate commission structures, marketing funnels, or asset-building frameworks, makes it challenging to categorize Fast Wealth as a genuine wealth-building tool.

Disclaimer: Individuals should conduct their research and consider multiple sources of information before investing in any income-generating system. Transparency, documented success stories, and verified user support are key indicators of a program’s credibility.

Ready to ditch the broke mindset? Activate your “Money Magnet Identity” now with the Get Dumb Money ritual. Fast Wealth access just one click away.

    User Experiences and Reviews

User feedback offers some of the most revealing insights into the real-world impact of the Fast Wealth program and the Get Dumb Money System. In a mix of public reviews, blog analyses, and discussion forums, user experiences tend to be polarized, ranging from motivated praise to deep skepticism.

    Positive Impressions

Some early adopters express appreciation for the mindset-shifting elements. These users highlight:

    • A sense of empowerment after engaging with the 30-second ritual daily
    • Motivation to take action on personal goals and financial planning
    • Appreciation for the simplicity of the system, especially for those overwhelmed by traditional business courses

In these cases, it seems the Get Dumb Money System serves as a daily motivator or personal development tool—less of a business method and more of a confidence-building exercise.

    Common Criticisms

However, many users and reviewers raise recurring concerns:

    • Lack of actionable strategies – The system often stops short of providing detailed monetization paths.
    • Recycled concepts – Much of the advice is general and widely available for free in self-help and affiliate marketing spaces.
    • Overreliance on emotional triggers – Critics point to how the sales material leverages fear, shame, or urgency rather than focusing on practical skills.
    • Unexpected upsells or vague guarantees – While a refund is promised, some users claim that the process isn’t as seamless as advertised.

    Expert Commentary

Financial experts tend to view the Get Dumb Money System with caution. Without concrete business frameworks or evidence-based strategies, it falls into the category of motivational marketing, not financial education. Professionals emphasize that sustainable income is built through structured models involving time, effort, and strategy, not just mindset rituals.

Some finance bloggers label the system as a psychological placebo—something that might feel helpful in the short term but lacks the tools for long-term transformation unless paired with real-world income action steps.

Disclaimer: Personal experiences may vary widely depending on expectations and background. While some may benefit from motivational elements, this program should not be mistaken for a proven business model or substitute for proper financial planning.

    The Psychology Behind “Dumb Money”

To understand the full pitch behind the Get Dumb Money System, it’s essential to break down the psychology of the term “dumb money.” While the phrase may sound dismissive, it actually refers to a well-documented concept in behavioral finance, often used to describe the emotional decision-making patterns of retail investors or untrained participants in the financial system.

    What Is Dumb Money?

In financial markets, “dumb money” typically refers to capital invested by individuals who lack institutional insights, real-time data, or technical analysis experience. These investors often:

    • Buy high due to hype or fear of missing out (FOMO)
    • Sell low during market dips driven by panic.
    • Follow viral trends without a long-term strategy.
    • Rely on surface-level promises rather than fundamentals.

The Fast Wealth program leverages this concept by suggesting most people are programmed to operate from a “broke by default” mindset. The Get Dumb Money System claims to rewire this mental default using subconscious rituals and repetition.

Smart Money vs. Dumb Money Behavior

Whereas “dumb money” follows emotions, “smart money” behaves based on:

    • Long-term planning and portfolio diversity
    • Data-backed investment models
    • Consistent financial education
    • Strategic patience, even during downturns

By labeling the old mindset as “dumb money,” the system aims to position its users as future “smart money thinkers”—though it does this without providing direct education on investing, markets, or budgeting.

    Why This Framing Works

Psychologically, this narrative is highly compelling for marketing purposes. It:

    • Creates a clear “us vs. them” identity
    • Encourages people to believe their struggles are due to subconscious conditioning
    • Offers a daily ritual as an easy fix for a complex, deeply rooted issue

While this can inspire change on a surface level, it’s important to distinguish between mindset work and actual financial tools or knowledge.

Disclaimer: Reprogramming mental habits can support personal growth, but it should be paired with financial education and proven wealth strategies for meaningful, lasting outcomes.

    Alternatives to Consider

While the Fast Wealth program and the Get Dumb Money ritual may offer motivational value, those serious about achieving long-term financial results should explore alternative approaches. These alternatives are grounded in transparency, practical action, and well-established principles in personal finance.

    Legitimate Wealth-Building Strategies

There are proven paths to financial growth that don’t rely on hype, secrecy, or vague subconscious reprogramming. Some of the most effective strategies include:

    Financial Education

Learning the basics of budgeting, investing, debt management, and passive income creation remains one of the most reliable ways to build wealth. Many free or low-cost resources exist that offer:

    • Step-by-step guides on affiliate marketing
    • Training on building high-converting websites and funnels
    • Education on digital product creation, freelancing, and real estate
    • Courses on financial literacy, trading, and portfolio diversification

    Diversified Income Streams

Real wealth often comes from multiple, sustainable income sources rather than a single system. Examples include:

    • Affiliate marketing is built on niche content websites or YouTube channels
    • Print-on-demand or drop-shipping businesses with real customer value
    • Creating and selling digital products (e-books, templates, online courses)
    • Long-term investing through index funds, ETFs, or dividend-yielding stocks

    Long-Term Planning

A key contrast to “get rich quick” platforms is the emphasis on patience and strategy. Individuals serious about wealth accumulation in 2025 should consider:

    • Setting realistic financial goals over a 12–36 month period
    • Tracking expenses, income, and performance over time
    • Reinvesting profits back into scalable systems (ad spend, automation tools, etc.)
    • Consulting certified financial advisors for major decisions

    Trusted Platforms and Tools

Instead of relying on one-size-fits-all solutions, users can explore platforms that are widely reviewed and offer community support, transparent pricing, and educational infrastructure. These include:

    • Udemy, Coursera, and Skillshare for learning monetizable skills
    • Shopify and Gumroad for launching online stores or products
    • ConvertKit or Systeme.io for email marketing and digital sales automation
    • Personal finance apps like YNAB or Mint for budgeting and goal tracking

Disclaimer: No single platform or tool guarantees success. Results depend on the time, energy, and strategic thinking each individual brings to the process. Any new system or investment should be researched thoroughly and aligned with your personal goals.

    Conclusion and Final Thoughts

The Fast Wealth program and the Get Dumb Money Works System offer fast financial results through mindset shifts, daily rituals, and simple steps anyone can follow. For beginners overwhelmed by more technical wealth-building paths, the idea of a 30-second phone ritual unlocking a new financial identity may feel empowering and approachable.

However, beneath the polished marketing and motivational messaging, there are critical gaps. The program lacks transparency, provides a limited actionable strategy, and relies heavily on emotional appeal. While mindset plays a role in long-term success, it must be supported by concrete actions, skill-building, and a realistic understanding of how income is actually generated.

Many users will find that the system functions more as a motivational tool than a proven income vehicle. Suppose you’re looking to achieve fast wealth in 2025, truly. In that case, it’s crucial to balance inspiration with education and prioritize platforms and tools with a clear track record of delivering real-world results.

Those serious about transforming their financial life should use discernment, dig deeper than surface-level promises, and commit to models that combine mindset with measurable strategy.

  • MIL-OSI China: Smart steps for futuristic education

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

China calls for cultivating future-ready teachers, classrooms, schools and learning centers to meet the demands of the digital age, according to a white paper released during the 2025 World Digital Education Conference in Wuhan, Hubei province, which concluded on Friday.

The White Paper on China’s Smart Education, issued by the Ministry of Education, declared 2025 the inaugural year of “smart education”, outlining a sweeping vision for transforming the country’s education system through artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is fundamentally reshaping how knowledge is delivered, how students learn, and how education systems are governed, setting a new trajectory for educational reform, it said.

“AI will give teachers new roles and missions,” it said. Educators will be supported by intelligent tools that automate lesson planning and provide tailored instructional materials, easing administrative burdens and allowing more time for creative teaching.

It will also assist in grading and analyzing homework, helping teachers track student progress and offer personalized services. Meanwhile, AI-driven multimodal data systems will evaluate teaching effectiveness, offering targeted recommendations to help instructors continuously improve teaching.

According to the white paper, classrooms can be reimagined in the future, where teachers, students and intelligent machines work seamlessly together. Emerging technologies such as big data, virtual simulations and immersive environments will become central to instruction, fostering greater student engagement and knowledge construction.

Smart schools of the future will use AI across every level of management from resource planning to personalized student evaluation. By analyzing labor market demands, AI can help align regional school programs with economic needs. It can also predict demographic changes to ensure the precise allocation of education resources, the white paper said.

AI-powered tools will offer assessments of well-rounded student development, shifting the focus from rote learning to holistic growth, it added.

In addition, student-centered future learning centers will integrate multimodal technologies to nurture core competencies. These centers will emphasize interdisciplinary and industry-based learning, powered by digital platforms that connect MOOCs, virtual labs and smart textbooks, it said.

Personalized learning will be supported through precise recommendations based on AI profiling and big data analytics, aiming to help individuals adapt and thrive in the AI-driven world.

Apart from technological infrastructure, the white paper highlighted a fundamental shift in educational values and content. Future education is expected to nurture students’ critical thinking, moral integrity and psychological resilience, it said.

Cognitive skills, including innovation and systems thinking, and collaborative problem-solving will become core capabilities for students in the future, the white paper said. It also urges the responsible use of AI in education, calling for ethical guidelines and data privacy protections to prevent misuse.

Chinese foreign trade companies are picking up steam in fulfilling orders after China and the United States announced on Monday that they had reached an agreement to reduce tariffs on each other during trade talks in Geneva, Switzerland.

The influx of orders from the US has posed a challenge to the production and supply capabilities of foreign trade enterprises, business executives said.

Wang Li, general manager of a home furniture company in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, said that her company secured four new orders on Tuesday alone, worth a total value of $300,000, which is close to the total order value of the previous two weeks.

“We have planned to send at least eight containers to the US within the week,” Wang said, adding that she predicts that orders will continue to surge in the following three months.

Zhang Wulin, general manager of a digital technology company in Dongguan, Guangdong, said he has seen a rapid rebound in US orders following the tariff reductions.

“All our sales representatives are now busy with shipping and have no time to count the order volume,” he said.

Yan Longhai, secretary-general of the Guangzhou Cross-Border E-commerce Industry Association, said that based on the association’s customer feedback, orders secured in May have increased by 20 to 40 percent compared with the same period last month.

“Due to the tariff reduction, the orders that were originally suspended will gradually resume,” he said.

Chen Yongjun, a distinguished professor at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, noted that the US remains one of the major trade partners of China. China’s exports to the US represented 14.7 percent of the country’s total in 2024, lower than the 19.2 percent recorded in 2018.

Official data showed that Guangdong, as China’s largest foreign trade province, sold 948.81 billion yuan ($131.65 billion) worth of products to the US last year, with the proportion of exports to the US having fallen to 16.1 percent.

The tariff reductions would help promote trade expansion between the two nations, said Chen. He urged domestic manufacturers to further improve product competitiveness and diversify their global market presence while increasing their presence in the US market.

In Shanghai, Ding Linfeng, general manager of a local sunshade equipment company, said that a US customer had placed an order on Monday evening.

Ding said the US customer was in a hurry to place a new order and hoped that production would be completed within a month, as maritime transportation of goods still takes another month.

Ding said that he received orders worth more than 1 million yuan from the US on the night of the tariff reductions.

Lin Xiaoming, general manager of Yiwu Lincy Lock Industry Co based in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, said that the company has continued to fulfill the contracts previously signed with its US clients following the tariff reductions, as now the tariff is much lower, which results in very high profits for them. “Therefore, they also continue to adhere to the previous contracts,” said Lin, whose company produces locks and exports more than 50,000 locks per day.

“This year, our trade volume with other countries has been consistently increasing. The tariff interruptions have actually helped other countries gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Chinese market,” he said.

The surge in orders from the rest of the world has also promoted the growth of the shipping and logistics industries.

A Shenzhen-based international logistics company’s US route business is experiencing growth, with prices continuing to rise, but container shipments remain tight, said a local shipping executive.

  • MIL-OSI USA: PHOTOS: Amid Federal Funding Cuts & Uncertainty, Senator Peters Visits MSU Biomedical Research Institute to Highlight Importance of Federal Support for Solving Today’s Pressing Healthcare Challenges

    US Senate News:

Source: United States Senator for Michigan Gary Peters
EAST LANSING, MI – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) visited Michigan State University (MSU) to tour the Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (IQ) and highlight the importance of federal funding for solving the most pressing challenges in healthcare. During the tour, MSU faculty and students demonstrated the innovative research and technologies made possible by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and National Science Foundation (NSF), including cancer-sniffing insects, cardiac organoid models and wearable monitoring systems.
Peters was joined by Dr. Christopher Contag, Director of the Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering, and Dr. Jinxing Li, Assistant Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. During a press conference following the tour, Peters underscored the challenges that research institutions like MSU currently face amid federal funding cuts and uncertainty, which are impacting IQ’s ability to continue developing cutting-edge research that keeps Michiganders safe and healthy.
“As we saw firsthand today, the students and faculty at Michigan State University are developing cutting-edge health care solutions that will transform the way we can care for our patients and keep Michiganders healthy. However, recent executive orders made by the current administration have either stalled or completely terminated the federal funding that research institutions like MSU rely on to carry out this important work,” said Senator Peters. “These cuts are a big mistake. That’s why I made it a priority to come to MSU today to highlight how federal investments in research and innovation are effective and invaluable to our society.”
“At IQ, our biomedical research drives bold innovation — from “first-ever discovery” to “first-in-human” application. We’re not just focused on uncovering new biology, technologies, and therapeutic approaches; we’re committed to translating these breakthroughs into real-world impact,” said Dr. Christopher Contag. “I’d like to thank Senator Peters for coming here today to learn more about our mission, which is to lead at the frontier of discovery and be the first to bring those innovations to patients. With vital support from federal funding, we turn transformative ideas into solutions that can improve and save lives.”
“Earlier this year, I was thrilled to learn from a representative of Senator Peters’ office that my research project was set to receive funding from the National Institutes of Health,” said Dr. Jinxing Li. “However, the project has been delayed and is awaiting final funding authorization. Without a reliable funding timeline, we were unable to begin planning or recruiting the talented scientists needed to carry out this critical work. This experience underscores how timely and consistent federal support is essential to sustaining innovation, and we are grateful to Senator Peters for his continued advocacy for science, innovation, and the future of healthcare.”

MSU’s Institute for Quantitative Health Science and Engineering (IQ) integrates a variety of researchers across scientistic disciplines to solves some of today’s most pressing issues in healthcare including cancer research, studying heart defects, and delivering therapies to treat muscular disfunction, all of which are supported by NIH and NSF grant funding. Peters, a graduate of MSU, has remained committed to the continued renewal of these grants and ensuring researchers at MSU and across Michigan have access to this funding. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, Peters secured over $50 billion in the government funding bill that was signed into law last year for the NIH to support biomedical research and support institutions like the IQ Lab.

  • MIL-Evening Report: A life of service: celebrating the career of Luamanuvao Dame Winnie Laban

SPECIAL REPORT: By Moera Tuilaepa-Taylor, RNZ Pacific manager

At this year’s May graduation ceremony, Te Herenga Waka Victoria University’s Luamanuvao Dame Winnie Laban, was awarded an honorary doctorate in recognition for her contribution to education.

Although she has now stepped down from the role, Luamanuvao served as the university’s Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Pasifika, for 14 years. In that time has worked tirelessly to raise Pasifika students’ achievement.

“It’s really important that they [Pasifika students] make the most of the opportunities that education has to offer,” she said.

“Secondly, education teaches you how to write, to research, to critique, but more importantly, become an informed voice and considering what’s happening in society now with AI and also technology and social media, it’s really important that we can tell our stories and share our values, and we counter that by receiving a good education and applying ourselves to do well.”

When asked about the importance of service, Luamanuvao explained “there’s a saying in Samoan, ‘o le ala i le pule o le tautua’ so the road to authority and leadership is through service”.

“And we’ve always been taught how important it is not to indulge in our own individual success, but to always become a voice and support our brothers and sisters, and our families and in our communities who are especially struggling.”

As she accepted her honorary doctorate, she spoke about the importance of women taking on leadership roles.

    ‘Our powerful women’
“Yes, many Pacific people will know how powerful our women are, especially our mothers, our grandmothers, and great grandmothers. We actually come from cultures of very powerful and very strong women . . .  it’s not centered in the individual women. It’s centered on the well-being of our families, and our communities. And that’s what women leadership is all about in the Pacific.”

She did not expect the honourary doctorate from Te Herenga Waka Victoria University because “I’ve always been aspirational for others. And we Pacific people have been brought up that we are the people of the ‘we’ and not the me.”

The number of Pasifika students enrolled at the University, during Luamanuvao’s time as Assistant Vice-Chancellor, increased from 4.70 percent in 2010 to 6.64 pecent in 2024. She said she “would have loved to have doubled that number” so that it was more in line with the number of Pasifika people living in New Zealand.

Two of the initiatives she started, during her time at the University, was the Pasifika Roadshow taking information about university life out to the wider community and the Improving Pasifika Legal Education Project.

Helping Pasifika Law students succeed was very important to her. While Pasifika make up make up only 3 percent of Lawyers, they are overrepresented in the legal system, comprising 12 percent of the prison population.

Another passion of hers was encouraging Pasifika to enter academia. “I think we’ve had an increase in Pacific academics in some areas. For example, with the Faculty of Law, we’ve got two senior Pacific women in lecturer positions . . . We’ve also got four associate professors, and now I’ve finished, there’s also a vacancy for another.”

Prior to her work in education Luamanuvao was the first Pasifika woman to enter New Zealand politics, in 1999.

    First Pacific woman MP
“I was fortunate that when I ran for Parliament, I ran first as a list MP, and as you know, within the parties, they have selection process that are quite robust, and so I became the first Pacific woman MP.”

“What motivated me was the car parts factory that closed in Wainuiomata, and most of the workers were men, but they were also Pacific, Māori and palagi, who basically arrived at work one morning and were told the factory was closing.”

“But what really hit me, and hurt me, that these were not the values of Aotearoa. They’re not the values of our Pacific region. These are human beings, and for many men, particularly, to have a job, it’s about providing for your family. It’s about status.

“So, if factories were going to close down, where was the planning to upskill them so they could continue in employment? None of them wanted to go for the unemployment benefit.

“They wanted to continue in paid work. So it’s those milestones that I make it worthwhile. It’s just a pity, because election cycles are three years, and as you know, people will vote how they want to vote, and if there’s a change, all the hard work you’ve put in gets reversed and but fundamentally, I believe that New Zealand and Pacific people have wonderful values that all of us try to live by, and that will continue to feed the light and ensure that people have a choice.”

Luamanuvao Dame Winnie Laban PhD and her husband Dr Peter Swain. Image: Trudy Logologo/RNZ Pacific

Although she first entered Parliament as a list MP, she subsequently won the Mana electorate seat. She retained the seat ,for the Labour party, from 2002 until she stepped away from politics in 2010.

During that time she was Minister of Pacific Peoples, 2007-2008, and even though Labour was defeated in the 2008 election, she continued to hold the Mana seat by a comfortable margin.

    Mentoring many MPs
Although she has left political life, Luamanuvao has also been involved in mentoring many Pasifika Members of Parliament, and helping them cope with the challenges and opportunities that go with the role.

One of the primary motivators in her life has been the struggles of her parents, who left Samoa in 1954 to build a better future for their children, in New Zealand. She acknowledged that all of her successes can be attributed to her parents and the sacrifices they made.

“Yes, well, I think everybody can look at a genealogy of history of families leaving their homeland to come to Aotearoa, why, to build a better life and opportunities, including education for their children.

“And I often remind our generation of young people now that your parents left their home, for you. And I’ve often reflected because my parents have passed away on the pain of leaving their parents, but there was always this loving generosity in that both my parents were the eldest of huge families.

“They left everything for them, and actually arrived in New Zealand with very little. But there was this determination to succeed.

“Secondly, they are a minority in a country where they’re not the majority, or they are the indigenous people of their country. So also, overcoming those barriers, their hard work, their dreams, but more importantly, the huge love for our communities and fairness and justice was installed in Ken and I my brother, from a very young age, about serving and about giving and about reciprocity.”

Although she has left her role in tertiary education Luamanuvao vows to continue working to support the next generation of Pasifika leaders, in New Zealand and around the Pacific region.

Her lifelong commitment to service, continues as she’s a founding member of The Fale Malae Trust, a group whose vision is to build an internationally significant, landmark Fale Malae on the Wellington waterfront.

  • MIL-OSI Economics: How the Microsoft Secure Future Initiative brings Zero Trust to life

    Source: Microsoft

Headline: How the Microsoft Secure Future Initiative brings Zero Trust to life

In this blog, you’ll learn more about how the Microsoft Secure Future Initiative (SFI)—a real-world case study on Zero Trust—aligns with Zero Trust strategies. We’ll share key updates from the April 2025 SFI progress report and practical Zero Trust guidance to help you strengthen your organization’s security posture. Whether you’re looking to enhance protection, reduce risk, or future-proof your environment, this blog offers actionable insights to support your journey toward a more secure future.

Get started with the Zero Trust security model

The Zero Trust security model offers longstanding, proven benefits. Zero Trust minimizes the attack surface and makes it significantly harder for cyberattackers to gain illicit access, whether from outside or inside an organization’s network. Zero Trust is also great at securing hybrid and remote work environments, helping to facilitate secure modernization efforts. Microsoft strongly believes in these benefits and works diligently to share resources, insights, and tools like Zero Trust workshops with customers. As Microsoft innovates in the Zero Trust space, it shares insights with the technology industry and its customers.

In November of 2023, we launched the Secure Future Initiative—a multiyear effort to revolutionize the way we design, build, test, and operate our products and services in order to achieve the highest security standards. In May 2024, Microsoft expanded the Secure Future Initiative to include six engineering pillars and 28 aligned objectives. Engineering owners were assigned to each pillar and established an initial body of work to advance each objective, articulated as standards and measured as key results. In many cases, these objectives and standards are stringent applications of Zero Trust for Microsoft’s unique requirements as a leading hyper-scale cloud operator, provider of cloud services and products, and as a major enterprise target for bad actors.

    Zero Trust Workshop

A comprehensive technical guide to help customers and partners adopt a Zero Trust strategy and deploy security solutions end-to-end to secure their organizations. Learn more.

Zero Trust: What it means for you

Zero Trust assumes cyberattackers can come from anywhere—inside or outside your network. This means that you must “never trust, always verify.” In practice, it also means every access request must be authenticated, authorized, and continuously validated—giving you greater confidence that only the right people and devices can connect to your resources.

How Microsoft helps you put Zero Trust into action

    • Proven guidance and collaboration: We align with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), The Open Group, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), MITRE, and others, helping our customers benefit from industry-standard frameworks and best practices.
    • End-to-end deployment support: From planning to rollout, Microsoft experts, tools, and partner ecosystem guide customers through each of our six security pillars: identities, endpoints, applications, infrastructure, network, and data.
    • AI-ready security: We’ve extended Zero Trust to cover AI workloads and models, embedding Microsoft solutions and governance controls at every layer, so our customers can innovate confidently.

With this comprehensive approach from Microsoft, customers don’t just learn the principles—they gain the ability to apply them across their environment to help reduce risk, simplify operations, and accelerate secure modernization.

Learnings from the Secure Future Initiative for your Zero Trust journey

Microsoft processes more than 84 trillion security signals every day—from devices and endpoints to cloud services and applications—giving us robust visibility into emerging cyberthreats and attack patterns.1 By integrating data and insights with a “never trust, always verify” approach, the Secure Future Initiative at Microsoft builds on established Zero Trust strategies—turning architecture into practical implementation. Insights from this experience can enable you to expedite your Zero Trust implementations.

    Key insights from SFI

The journey Microsoft has gone on while implementing the Secure Future Initiative surfaced these practical lessons: use them to accelerate your own security improvements.

Read the April 2025 Secure Future Initiative updates

Lesson 1: Set priorities and measure progress

Based on our priorities, we developed six pillars and 28 objectives to help us focus on what truly matters. You can do likewise: analyze your top risks, then group them into a set of measurable objectives. This gives your team a clear roadmap and helps prioritize efforts that move the needle.

Lesson 2: Align culture with security goals

We learned that tools alone don’t stick—people do. The Secure Future Initiative’s emphasis on culture, clear security objectives, ongoing training, and individual performance goals creates accountability. Translate this by embedding security accountability into every role and offering continuous, role-based training.

    Lesson 3: Strengthen security governance

With SFI, integrating Deputy CISOs from key product and functional areas into the Governance Council has advanced security as a core part of development. That makes it more than just a checkpoint, enabling earlier risk mitigation and improved resilience at scale. You can evolve your approach to governance in step with your growth and key functional areas to ensure visibility and accountability. This will help you accelerate Zero Trust maturity and stay ahead of emerging cyberthreats.

Lesson 4: You can’t protect what you can’t see

With the Secure Future Initiative, currently, more than 99% of network devices are logged in a central repository for full lifecycle management. These devices use centralized authentication and audit trails, are configured with Access Control Lists (ACLs) for IPv4/v6 to restrict lateral movement and have safeguards in place to prevent key compromise or abuse. Apply this by developing an inventory of your own environment and implementing isolation, monitoring and secure operations.

Lesson 5: Share learnings and build feedback loops

The Secure Future Initiative is a living case study—sharing progress, learnings, and best practices through reports and blogs. You can also adopt a similar mindset: document what works, share internally and externally (where appropriate), and continuously refine your Zero Trust journey based on your own real-world experiences.

Build secure by design, secure by default, and secure operations

The Secure Future Initiative embeds three foundational principles into everything we do, and you can too:

    • Secure by design: Incorporate threat modeling and risk assessments at the earliest planning phases.
    • Secure by default: Enable guardrails and policies out of the box so users—and cyberattackers—can’t easily disable them.
    • Secure operations: Continuously monitor, test, and iterate on defenses as cyberthreats evolve.

Download our Secure by design: A UX toolkit to integrate these checklists into your development pipelines today.

Key customer takeaways from the April 2025 Secure Future Initiative report

You can learn more about the progress we have made improving our security posture in the April 2025 progress report.

Below are learnings from that report, and examples of how you can improve your security posture by applying the Zero Trust framework and principles.

    1. Protect identities and secrets

Validate controls with attack simulations: Use red team exercises or breach-and-attack-simulation tools to test your identity protections (multifactor authentication, conditional access, just-in-time privilege). Identify gaps, then tune policies and workflows to close them.

    2. Protect tenants and isolate production systems

Map and limit lateral paths: Graph your environment’s trust relationships (subscriptions, resource groups, service connections). Pinpoint where a cyberattacker could “hop,” then apply micro-segmentation, just-in-time network access, or privileged identity management to contain any breach.

    3. Protect networks

Inventory, monitor, and segment: Ensure every device, virtual machine, and service is inventoried and sending telemetry. Lock down network flows with Zero Trust network policies and micro-segmentation. Use continuous monitoring to detect misconfigurations before they become vulnerabilities.

    4. Protect engineering systems

Enforce secure build pipelines: Assign clear code-ownership and integrate security gates into your continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline. Adopt infrastructure-as-code templates with embedded guardrails and automatically remediate any drift from your security baseline.

    5. Monitor and detect threats

Test your detection end-to-end: Regularly run realistic cyberattack simulations (for example, breach-and-attack-simulation, purple team exercises) across all clouds and on-premises environments. Validate that alerts fire correctly and that your security operations center (SOC) workflows drive timely investigation and response.

    6. Accelerate response and remediation

Automate patching at scale: Implement automated operating system (OS) and application updates (Microsoft has deployed automated operating system upgrades to 86% of our first-party Virtual Machine Scale Sets (VMSS)-based services, resulting in more than 91 million upgrades in 2024). Shift left on vulnerability management: integrate scanning and patch-orchestration into your DevOps pipelines.

By adopting these practices, you can harden your Zero Trust posture, reduce risk, and accelerate secure modernization—no matter where you are on your journey.

  • MIL-OSI Global: Trump signed plenty of contracts in the Middle East, but he’s no closer to the two ‘deals’ he really wants

Source: The Conversation – Global Perspectives – By Shahram Akbarzadeh, Director, Middle East Studies Forum (MESF), Deakin University

US President Donald Trump’s visit to Arab states in the Middle East this week generated plenty of multibillion-dollar deals. He said more than US$1 trillion (A$1.5 trillion) worth of deals had been signed with Saudi Arabia alone, though the real total is likely much lower than that.

Qatar also placed an order for 210 Boeing aircraft, a deal worth a reported US$96 billion (A$149 billion). Trump will no doubt present these transactions as a major success for US industry.

The trip also helped counter concerns about US disengagement from the Middle East. For more than a decade, local elites have viewed Washington’s attention as shifting away from the region.

This trip was a reaffirmation of the importance of the Middle East – in particular the Gulf region – to US foreign policy. This is an important signal to send to Middle Eastern leaders who are dealing with competing interests from China and, to a lesser extent, Russia.

And from a political standpoint, Trump’s lifting of sanctions on Syria and meeting with the former rebel, now president, Ahmed al-Sharaa was very significant – both symbolically and practically.

Until recently, al-Sharaa was listed by the United States as a terrorist with a US$10 million (A$15 million) bounty on his head. However, when his forces removed dictator Bashar al-Assad from power in December, he was cautiously welcomed by many in the international community.

The US had invested considerable resources in removing Assad from power, so his fall was cause for celebration, even if it came at the hands of forces the US had deemed terrorists.

This rapid turn-around is dizzying. In practice, the removal of sanctions on Syria opens the doors to foreign investment in the reconstruction of the country following a long civil war.

It also offers an opportunity for Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as well as Turkey, to expand their influence in Syria at the expense of Iran.

For a leader who styles himself a deal-maker, these can all be considered successful outcomes from a three-day trip.

However, Trump avoided wading into the far more delicate diplomatic and political negotiations needed to end Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza and find common ground with Iran on its nuclear program.

No solution in sight for the Palestinians

Trump skirted the ongoing tragedy in Gaza and offered no plans for a diplomatic solution to the war, which drags on with no end in sight.

The president did note his desire to see a normalisation of relations between Arab states and Israel, without acknowledging the key stumbling block.

While Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates have no love for Hamas, the Gaza war and the misery inflicted on the Palestinians have made it impossible for them to overlook the issue. They cannot simply leapfrog Gaza to normalise relations with Israel.

In his first term, Trump hoped the Palestinian issue could be pushed aside to achieve normalisation of relations between Arab states and Israel. This was partially achieved with the Abraham Accords, which saw the UAE and three other Muslim-majority nations normalise relations with Israel.

Trump no doubt believed the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreed to just before his inauguration would stick – he promised as much during the US election campaign.

But after Israel unilaterally broke the ceasefire in March, vowing to press on with its indiscriminate bombing of Gaza, he’s learned the hard way the Palestinian question cannot easily be solved or brushed under the carpet.

The Palestinian aspiration for statehood needs to be addressed as an indispensable step towards a lasting peace and regional stability.

It was telling that Trump did not stop in Israel this week. One former Israeli diplomat says it’s a sign Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lost his leverage with Trump.

There’s nothing that Netanyahu has that Trump wants, needs or [that he] can give him, as opposed to, say, the Saudis, the Qataris, [or] the Emiratis.

    More harsh rhetoric for Iran

Trump also had no new details or initiatives to announce on the Iran nuclear talks, beyond his desire to “make a deal” and his repeat of past threats.

At least four rounds of talks have been held between Iran and the United States since early April. While both sides are positive about the prospects, the US administration seems divided on the intended outcome.

The US Middle East special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have called for the complete dismantling of Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium as a sure safeguard against the potential weaponisation of the nuclear program.

Trump himself, however, has been less categorical. Though he has called for the “total dismantlement” of Iran’s nuclear program, he has also said he’s undecided if Iran should be allowed to continue a civilian enrichment program.

Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium, albeit under international monitoring, is a red line for the authorities in Tehran – they won’t give this up.

The gap between Iran and the US appears to have widened this week following Trump’s attack on Iran as the “most destructive force” in the Middle East. The Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi called Trump’s remarks “pure deception”, and pointed to US support for Israel as the source of instability in the region.

None of this has advanced the prospects of a nuclear deal. And though his visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE was marked by pomp and ceremony, he’ll leave no closer to solving two protracted challenges than when he arrived.

Shahram Akbarzadeh receives funding from Australian Research Council. He is affiliated with the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, a non-profit research centre in Doha, Qatar.

  • MIL-OSI USA: Congressman Amo Stands Firmly Against the Republican Budget Betrayal

Source: US Congressman Gabe Amo (Rhode Island 1st District)

Today, Congressman Gabe Amo worked to amend the disastrous Republican budget to ensure millionaires contribute their fair share.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today in the House Committee on the Budget, Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI) voted against on the disastrous Republican reconciliation package that would kick over 13 million people off their health care, gut food assistance for about 11 million people, and steal the dream of higher education from over 4 million Americans to fund tax breaks for billionaires.

Congressman Amo also introduced a motion to amend this budget betrayal to ensure Republicans fulfill President Trump’s request to make those earning more than a million a year pay their fair share in taxes. Due to hardline Republicans seeking greater cuts to vital services and Democrats sticking together, the bill did not advance out of Committee.

“Rhode Islanders know that cutting health care and food assistance for millions of Americans to give the richest few an extra $82,000 a year is a bad deal,” said Congressman Gabe Amo, a Member of the House Committee on the Budget. “Some Republicans, however, think it does not cut enough, making clear once again that cruelty is their north star. Republicans are betraying working Americans to fund giant tax breaks for their billionaire buddies, so I voted against this bill.”

    BACKGROUND

On April 9, 2025, Amo slammed the Republican budget resolution on the House floor and shared the story of a Rhode Islander in the First Congressional District who would be hurt by Republican cuts.
On February 25, 2025, Amo took to the House Floor to slam the Republican budget resolution that threatens devastating cuts to critical programs.
On February 24, 2025, Amo submitted two amendments to the House Committee on Rules to protect SNAP and affirm that Medicaid is a critical program for more than 306,000 Rhode Island residents. The Republican-controlled House Committee on Rules refused to consider Congressman Amo’s amendments.
During the House Budget Committee markup on February 13, 2025, Amo offered two amendments to support protecting and extending Medicare’s solvency as well as protect SNAP, the Community Eligibility Provision, the School Breakfast Program, and the National School Lunch Program. Republicans voted no.

Governor Primavera and Director of the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care. “I’ve always believed that health care is a human right, and I’m honored to join a community that works every day to make that belief a reality.”

2025 has been declared the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland. On the instructions of the President, this year, for the first time, a championship in professional skills for participants in a special military operation with disabilities will be held within the framework of the Abilympics championships.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Dmitry Grigorenko: Reducing administrative barriers for the implementation of socially significant projects

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Government of the Russian Federation – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The government has expanded the list of areas within the framework of the implementation of the Guillotine 2.0 project, which is aimed at revising and reducing mandatory requirements for the construction and operation of social infrastructure facilities. The project has been implemented since 2024 in such areas as “School”, “Redevelopment (re-equipment) of premises”, “Hospital”, “Runway (airport)”, “Hotel”. To these have been added “Organization of cultural events” and “Development and improvement of the availability of infrastructure for sports”.

“The idea of the “regulatory guillotine” is to reduce redundant and irrelevant norms and rules. The business community is actively involved in this work. Together, we have already reviewed over 300 thousand mandatory requirements, and more than a third of them have been cancelled. Now we have moved on to more targeted work in individual areas with the aim of further reducing administrative barriers to the implementation of social projects,” commented Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko.

For example, within the framework of the “Hotel” direction, the period for checking the grounds for putting a land plot up for auction has been reduced from two months to one. And within five days, the winner of the auction will be required to send a signed contract for the sale and purchase or lease of the land plot. The corresponding changes have been made to the Land Code.

By September 2025, a simplified procedure for connecting to power grids will become available for hotels with 120–200 rooms (medium-sized hotels with energy consumption of up to 670 kW), as is currently the case for facilities with energy consumption of up to 150 kW. The period for reviewing an application for technological connection will be reduced from 20 to 10 days.

A number of changes are planned within the framework of the direction “Organization of cultural events” and “Development and improvement of accessibility of infrastructure for sports activities”. For example, the Government has lifted restrictions on the frequency of free visits to parks, museums and exhibitions for large families. Now large families can visit them free of charge at any convenient time when the institution is open. This rule has become uniform throughout the country. The corresponding Government resolution has already been issued. Also, within the framework of the project, it is planned to eliminate excessive requirements for the preservation of cultural heritage sites. Applications for assignment of sports titles can be submitted electronically.

Large-scale work to revise mandatory requirements for carrying out business activities (the so-called regulatory guillotine) began in 2019 on the instructions of the President. It is carried out jointly with business representatives and the expert community – 43 industry groups have been created. They analyze both old and new mandatory requirements for their redundancy and irrelevance. According to business communities, the annual economic effect of the “regulatory guillotine” is about 200 billion rubles. These groups are also actively involved in the new project – “Guillotine 2.0”.
