  • MIL-OSI: Bitget Launches Second Year of Anti-Scam Month Campaign to Fight Growing Cyber Fraud

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

VICTORIA, Seychelles, June 03, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bitget, the leading cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has officially launched the second year of its Anti-Scam Month, a global initiative run to spread crypto security awareness. In a world where scams have become as sophisticated as the technologies meant to prevent them, Bitget is taking a cultural stand: security is no longer just a backend function; it’s a mindset shared between platforms and people.

Blockchain and Web3 have evolved rapidly, but so have the threats. From phishing links disguised as giveaways to malicious smart contracts concealed behind social media hype, scams have become increasingly creative and less detectable. In 2024 alone, cryptocurrency-related scams resulted in losses exceeding $9.9 billion, representing a 24% annual growth since 2020, according to reports.

Despite Bitcoin reaching new all-time highs and crypto adoption accelerating, the darker corners of the space remain dangerous for the unprepared. This surge of crypto scams, fueled by AI-generated deception and advanced social engineering tactics, shows the urgent need for heightened security awareness and more proactive defenses across the crypto ecosystem.

Since 2024, Bitget has marked every June as Anti-Scam Month to raise security awareness and protect users’ digital assets and personal data. Throughout this June, Bitget is flipping the script, from fear to empowerment. Under the theme Smarter Eyes, Stronger Shields, Bitget’s Anti-Scam Month campaign combines gamified education, community storytelling, and high-engagement content to cultivate a culture of vigilance. The campaign features the launch of the Bitget Anti-Scam Hub, a dedicated microsite that houses interactive resources, the “PFP Smarter Glasses” social media movement, a multi-part Security Blog Series, and the “Smarter Eyes Challenge” mini game.

But this isn’t a solo mission. Bitget has teamed up with a growing network of security experts to amplify the message and build a safer blockchain future. Key collaborators in this initiative include top-tier security firms such as GoPlus, SlowMist, OneKey, BlockSec, and Security Alliance—leaders in identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing on-chain threats, and building protective infrastructure.

In parallel, the campaign is supported by strategic collaborations with other prominent Web3 players such as Bitget Wallet, Morph, and Tapswap. These platforms represent the wider ecosystem’s commitment to a safer Web3, ensuring that users across wallets, apps, and social experiences are empowered with knowledge and protected by design.

But this isn’t just about tools—it’s about trust. “Scams may adapt, but so will we,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. “We’re building for a Web3 future where security isn’t something users hope for—it’s something they’re part of. Anti-Scam Month aligns with our belief that protecting users isn’t just a technical mandate, it’s a shared mission.”

In addition to user-focused engagement, Bitget will publish its 2025 Anti-Scam Report with partners, cybersecurity firm Slowmist, and compliance intelligence platform Elliptic, providing a data-driven examination of the evolving fraud landscape, common attack vectors, and how Bitget’s internal systems are being upgraded to address these threats effectively.

Anti-Scam Month signifies Bitget’s long-term commitment: safety is foundational to the future of cryptocurrency. And in the “dark forest” of Web3, awareness may be the strongest armor we have. The industry is growing, and it’s time our approach to security did too.

During its inaugural Anti-Scam campaign in 2024, Bitget released a report on how Deepfakes may account for 70% of crypto crimes in two years, in addition to running social campaigns in Vietnam to warn about crypto scams and risks. This year, as the cryptospace hits a new benchmark for scams and adoption at the same time, Bitget pledges to work with the global community and renowned security institutions to spread awareness and education.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Pilot project to restrict access to phishing sites launches

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Government of the Russian Federation – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

    Document

    Order of May 31, 2025 No. 1403-r

Starting June 4, 2025, Russia will begin implementing a pilot project to restrict access to phishing sites and applications that are created under the guise of official sites of government agencies and companies, and then used by fraudsters to steal passwords and other personal information of citizens. An order to this effect has been signed.

The goal of the pilot is to create an effective mechanism for identifying and promptly blocking fake Internet resources and applications that may use a domain name very similar to the real one of a government agency, company or bank.

The objectives of the pilot project include developing mechanisms for interaction between various government and non-government structures in identifying and blocking fraudulent websites and applications, as well as preparing proposals for the regulatory consolidation of such mechanisms.

The participants of the pilot project from the state side will be the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Finance, the Federal Tax Service, Rospatent, the Bank of Russia and the Prosecutor General’s Office. The project also involves the participation of the autonomous non-profit organization “Coordination Center for the National Domain of the Internet” and the research institute “Integral”.

The pilot project is scheduled to be completed on March 1, 2026. Its implementation will provide new opportunities to protect citizens from fraudulent activities and enhance their security on the Internet.

The work is being carried out within the framework of the federal project “Cybersecurity Infrastructure”, which is part of the new national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State”.

  • India urges deeper BRICS cooperation for building future-ready digital ecosystem

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

India reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready digital development at the 11th BRICS Communications Ministers’ Meeting held in Brasília, Brazil.

Delivering India’s national statement, Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, Dr. Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar, highlighted the country’s progress in digital governance under the theme set by Brazil’s BRICS presidency—Universal and Meaningful Connectivity, Space Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, and the Digital Ecosystem.

Dr. Chandra Sekhar showcased India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) as a global model for inclusive and transformative digital governance. He underlined the impact of flagship platforms such as Aadhaar and Unified Payments Interface (UPI), stating that Aadhaar has empowered over 950 million Indians with secure digital identity and seamless access to services, while UPI has revolutionised real-time digital payments, contributing to 46 percent of the world’s digital transactions.

He called upon BRICS nations to deepen collaboration and leverage digital public infrastructure for inclusive growth. “India’s DPI model, based on open and interoperable platforms, is a catalyst for good governance, financial inclusion and digital innovation while acting as a safeguard against monopolistic practices,” he added.

Dr. Sekhar also spoke about India’s vibrant startup ecosystem, the growing digital skills network, and progressive legislations such as the Telecommunications Act and the Data Protection Act. Stressing the need for digital trust and user safety, he highlighted India’s Sanchar Saathi initiative to combat telecom-related fraud.

The Minister emphasised the importance of international cooperation in areas such as cybersecurity, data protection and digital integrity, noting that the safety and trustworthiness of interconnected digital societies are crucial for the future.

Reflecting on India’s digital progress, Dr. Sekhar said the country has transitioned from digital divide to digital leadership. He presented the Digital Bharat Nidhi programme as a flagship initiative that has supported projects like BharatNet, which now connects over 2.18 lakh gram panchayats through optical fibre.

He said that India’s indigenous development and mass deployment of 4G and 5G technologies have brought high-speed connectivity to over 95 percent of the population with 4G and more than 80 percent with 5G. India, he noted, also leads the world in affordable data access, with internet data prices as low as 12 cents per gigabyte.

Speaking on the issue of space sustainability, the Minister said, “Space is no longer a distant frontier—it is now a vital part of our digital infrastructure.” He outlined India’s reforms in satellite communication, including streamlined SATCOM regulations and expanded licensing for mobile and IoT satellite services. He urged BRICS nations to work jointly on global issues such as orbital equity, spectrum management and space traffic regulation through cooperation rather than competition.

Addressing environmental sustainability, Dr. Sekhar acknowledged the dual challenges of climate change and rising e-waste. Citing projections from the Global E-Waste Monitor, he warned that global e-waste could reach 82 billion kilograms by 2030. He informed the forum about India’s initiatives like the Green Development Pact from the G20 Summit in Delhi and the Panchamrit goals announced at COP-26. He urged BRICS members to adopt circular economy practices, integrate green energy into ICT infrastructure and support global frameworks like the ITU’s Green Digital Action.

Source: United States House of Representatives – Representative Hank Johnson (GA-04)

Congressman receives “A” on Council for Innovation Promotion Congressional Scorecard for Working to Strengthen America’s IP Ecosystem

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Hank Johnson (GA-04), ranking member of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence and the Internet, announced June 2 that he received an “A” from the Council for Innovation Promotion (C4IP) for consistently introducing and supporting bills and policies that strengthen America’s IP framework.

“Intellectual property laws protect the rights of inventors and creators by granting them patents, trademarks, and copyrights,” said Johnson. “In doing so, these laws boost America’s competitiveness and export growth, create millions of jobs, and affect virtually every segment of the U.S. economy. In many ways, IP laws are the drivers of the American Dream. I will continue to focus on intellectual property policies that foster the innovation and creativity we need to drive human progress. I am proud to represent so many hardworking artists, innovators, and small businesses working to make their dreams a reality.”

C4IP is a bipartisan coalition dedicated to promoting strong and effective intellectual property rights that are necessary for innovation, increased economic competitiveness, and improved lives everywhere.

The Scorecard evaluated Congress across three dimensions: political, legislative, and policy activity. It assesses both current congressional activity and relevant past activity by current members across 116th, 117th and 118th Congresses.

The report highlighted some of Congressman Johnson’s most important legislative priorities, including his SHOP SAFE Act, and bills he’s cosponsored such as the RESTORE Patent Rights Act.

“The United States is not only the world’s largest economy — it is also, by scale and substance, the global leader in innovation and creativity,” the report states. “Indeed, many, if not most, of the revolutionary technologies developed globally over the past half-century originated in the United States. A robust innovation-driven economy relies on a strong system of intellectual property (IP) rights, both now and in the future.”

  • MIL-OSI Global: Internet-enabled orgasms: How teledildonics are changing the way we have sex

Source: The Conversation – Canada – By Madison E. Williams, PhD Student, Experimental Psychology, University of New Brunswick

Sex toys are no longer limited to the analogue dildos and masturbators of the past. Today, they have become increasingly sophisticated.
    (Shutterstock)

Sex toys are fairly common in people’s sex lives, and broadly accessible both online and in brick-and-mortar stores. In the United States, more than 40 per cent of heterosexual women and men have incorporated vibrators into the bedroom.

More than three-quarters of Canadians have used a sex toy with a partner at least once, including vibrators, anal toys and penile masturbators. Reported rates also vary widely across western countries — for instance, 16 per cent of Australians say they’ve used sex toys while up to 52 per cent of people in Germany say they have.

However, sex toys are no longer limited to the analogue dildos and masturbators of the past. Today, they have become increasingly sophisticated.

Internet-connected toys, known as teledildonics, are novel devices designed to enhance sexual experiences by mimicking elements of real human intimacy — such as genital touch, body warmth, synchronized movements or orgasmic sensations — without a partner being physically present.

They can be synced with online pornography, integrated with virtual reality or even controlled remotely by a partner, allowing for intimacy at a distance.

One question remains as this burgeoning technology becomes integrated in individuals’ lives: Can teledildonics promote sexual well-being?

    Why people use sex toys

Research reveals that using sex toys, whether on their own or with a partner, is linked with greater sexual satisfaction. One study also found that using a vaginal vibrator helped women experience stronger arousal, better lubrication and reach orgasm more easily.

People use sex toys for all sorts of reasons. In one Canadian study, the most popular reason people used sex toys was to spice up their sex life with a sexual partner.

Other commonly reported motivations included wanting to boost sexual arousal during masturbation and partnered sex, and to reach orgasm more easily. For a smaller proportion, sex toys also served to help them relax or release tension.

    What about teledildonics?

In one survey, nine per cent of U.S. adults reported they’ve used teledildonics, with more men (15 per cent) reporting usage than women (five per cent) and gender-diverse individuals (13 per cent).

Although more and more people are turning to teledildonic devices, we still know relatively little about why they use them or how they relate to well-being — especially compared to the growing body of research on traditional, non-connected sex toys.

Our research team at the Université du Québec à Montréal surveyed 617 men between the ages of 19 and 75 years old. They were customers of the teledildonics company, Kiiroo, which specializes in interactive, app-connected sex toys, particularly for men, such as masturbatory sleeves and strokers. Kiiroo’s marketing team helped recruit participants for the survey.

This industry collaboration allowed us to explore, for the first time, who uses these devices, why they use them, and how certain usage patterns like using it alone or with a partner may support greater sexual well-being.

More than three-quarters of Canadians have used a sex toy with a partner at least once, including vibrators, anal toys and penile masturbators.
    (Interactive Life Forms/Wikimedia), CC BY-SA

Most of our participants resided in North America (74 per cent) and Europe (22 per cent), while a minority were in Australia, Asia and Central America (three per cent combined). They primarily identified as white (75 per cent), Asian (17 per cent), Latin American (10 per cent) and Black (four per cent).

In our study, nearly all the men used their teledildonic devices alone, but 21 per cent of them also reported incorporating them into partnered sex.

We found that people who use teledildonics with a partner tend to own a greater number of these devices compared to those who use them solely for solo play.

Partnered use was also associated with a higher number of previous sexual partners, which may suggest that greater sexual experience increases one’s comfort in sharing sex toy use with a partner.

Finally, partnered use was associated with greater sexual well-being in men. Those who used their toys with a partner reported having greater sexual desire, more ease in reaching orgasm with a partner and increased confidence as a sexual partner.

In other words, men who use their teledildonics with a partner may experience greater sexual well-being than men who only use their devices alone.

Research reveals that using sex toys, whether on their own or with a partner, is linked with greater sexual satisfaction.
    (Shutterstock)

    Why do men use teledildonics?

Our study was the first to uncover the motivations behind men’s teledildonic sex toy use.

For 57 per cent of the men in our study, teledildonics were used primarily to relax or relieve tension. Just over half also reported using teledildonics to fantasize about sexual activities that are not possible in real life and to increase sexual arousal during masturbation.

More than one third of participants (38 per cent) shared that their teledildonics usage was specifically motivated by the ability to connect their toys with other technologies (like virtual reality headsets or online pornography).

Other motivations for using teledildonics appear to mirror many of those that drive traditional sex toy use, notably relaxation and tension relief and to increase arousal.

    What’s next for teledildonics?

Taken together, these findings offer promising evidence that using teledildonics, particularly with a partner, can have sexual benefits. They also invite us to reflect on how such technologies could improve the sex lives of people facing challenges such as sexual dysfunction, physical disabilities or a lack of access to sexual partners — although further research is needed to understand how teledildonics can meet their specific needs.

In addition, this growing industry raises important questions around data security, ethics and digital consent, including how to address concerns about the devices being hacked or remotely controlled without permission.

Ensuring that these technologies are developed with privacy and safety in mind is essential to maximizing their impact as tools that support sexual well-being in a rapidly changing sexual landscape.

As teledildonics and other sex technologies become more sophisticated, they will continue to transform the future of sex, intimacy and well-being.

    Source: Thales Group

Headline: Cyshield uses Thales technology to launch Egypt’s first connectivity service for eSIM devices

Cyshield, a leading digital solutions company, selected Thales a world leader in secure advanced technologies to launch Egypt’s first-ever eSIM (embedded SIM) connectivity services for consumer and IoT devices. Based in Cairo, Cyshield is supporting Egypt’s four mobile network operators in connecting eSIM devices in the country, optimising the user experience and enabling flexible subscription services for eSIM-enabled smartphones, smartwatches and other IoT devices.

Thales provides Cyshield with its leading eSIM Management platform, to enable fast and secure over-the-air downloads of mobile subscriptions to devices, leveraging proven expertise and capabilities to address sovereignty challenges. In addition, it ensures compliance with the latest consumer and M2M/IoT specifications1 for eSIM solutions, guaranteeing profiles and communication are interoperable and secure.

This new milestone in the development and digitalisation of mobile connectivity allows millions of Egyptians to enjoy the growing range of eSIM-enabled devices. Moreover, because Cyshield supports all the country’s mobile operators, it can take full advantage of the eSIM’s ability to host several mobile subscriptions. For the consumer market, end users can switch between operators and select their preferred subscription package with a single click on their phone. For the M2M/IoT market, Cyshield is becoming the national connectivity hub for smart metering in Egypt and other markets, while also preparing to meet evolving industry standards2 and requirements (GSMA SGP.32 standards).

Within less than five months of its launch, by December 5th, 2024, Cyshield had already completed over 400,000 end-user subscription downloads. Building on this success, the service will be extended to industrial IoT (Internet of Things) applications throughout 2025 and is already fully certified by Egypt’s National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).

“Khaled Taher, Products Director at Cyshield, praised Thales for delivering a secure, GSMA-certified solution that meets both current and future operational needs, while maximizing eSIM technology to enhance user experience and create new commercial opportunities for mobile operators. Likewise, Waleed Ragab, Products Director at Cyshield, highlighted Thales’ expertise and guidance in successfully securing GSMA SAS-SM certification on the first attempt, ensuring swift regulatory compliance and enabling Cyshield to provide a reliable, innovative eSIM connectivity service with exceptional flexibility and convenience for customers.”

Egypt’s first eSIM service is a truly collaborative and sovereign project, bringing together not just Cyshield and Thales, but also the GSMA, NTRA, and all the country’s mobile network operators” said Sherif Barakat, Country Director for Egypt, Thales. “This marks another major leap forward for the eSIM ecosystem, which is expanding at pace in north Africa and across the globe.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Barnwell County man arrested on Child Sexual Abuse Material* chargesRead More

Source: US State of South Carolina

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Steven Jeffrey Lynch, 62, of Blackville, S.C., on three charges connected to the sexual exploitation of minors. Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Barnwell County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General’s Office, also a member of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation.

Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which led them to Lynch. Investigators state Lynch possessed files of child sexual abuse material.

Lynch was arrested on May 28, 2025. He is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree (§16-15-410), a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count.

This case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.

Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.

    * Child sexual abuse material, or CSAM, is a more accurate reflection of the material involved in these heinous and abusive crimes. “Pornography” can imply the child was a consenting participant.  Globally, the term child pornography is being replaced by CSAM for this reason.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: IMF Executive Board Concludes 2025 Article IV Consultation with Cyprus

Source: IMF – News in Russian

    June 2, 2025

    • Growth is expected to decelerate to 2.5 percent in 2025 and stabilize at 3 percent in the medium term as Cyprus shifts towards more investment-driven growth.
    • The fiscal surplus reached an impressive 4.3 percent of GDP in 2024, while public debt declined to 65 percent of GDP. Fiscal policy should continue to prioritize debt reduction to further build buffers against potential shocks.
    • The banking sector boasts substantial capital and liquidity buffers, with financial risks appearing well-contained. The recent tightening of the macroprudential policy stance, will further enhance these financial buffers.

Washington, DC: The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the Article IV Consultation for Cyprus and endorsed the staff appraisal without a meeting.[1] The authorities have consented to the publication of the Staff Report prepared for this consultation.[2]

In 2024, Cyprus’s growth accelerated to 3.4 percent—one of the highest rates in the euro area (EA)—driven by a strong tourism season, continued Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector expansion, and robust public and private consumption. While inflation has remained volatile, it has generally decreased, with headline inflation falling to 2.1 percent by March 2025. Fiscal performance continues to be very strong, with the fiscal surplus increasing to 4.3 percent of GDP in 2024, supported by robust tax revenues. As a result, public debt has declined to 65 percent of GDP by the end of 2024, while cash buffers remain large. Financial conditions remain tight, accompanied by subdued credit growth. Nevertheless, the banking sector possesses sizable capital and liquidity buffers, and overall banking sector risks appear contained.

Growth is expected to moderate to 2.5 percent in 2025 before reaching 3 percent in the medium term, driven by higher investment and structural reforms. Inflation is anticipated to hit the 2 percent target later this year, supported by moderating growth and lower oil prices. Near-term risks are tilted to the downside, including from elevated uncertainty from global trade tensions. In contrast, longer-term risks are more balanced, with risks on insufficient progress on structural reforms acting against the upside potential of Cyprus’s evolving business model.

    Executive Board Assessment

In concluding the 2025 Article IV consultation with Cyprus, Executive Directors endorsed staff’s appraisal, as follows:

Cyprus has demonstrated remarkable economic resilience, with growth among the highest in the EA. This strong performance is underpinned by robust service exports and domestic consumption. The labor market remains tight, characterized by a declining unemployment rate and elevated job vacancy levels. While uncertainties persist, there are indications of potential overheating in the economy. This, along with tariff-related trade disruption, will lead growth to moderate this year. While volatile, inflation is projected to stabilize around 2 percent by the end of the year. The current account deficit is estimated to have moderated in 2024, but the external position is assessed to be weaker than the level implied by fundamentals.

The immediate outlook presents downside risks, while longer-term risks appear more balanced. An escalation of trade conflicts—particularly if this broadened to include services trade and FDI—poses an important downside risk. An escalation of regional tensions, and possible new energy price shocks, could affect FDI, tourism, and inflation. Domestically, there are concerns about further overheating, which may arise from a more accommodative fiscal policy. In the medium-to-long term, investment-driven growth will rely on continuous progress in structural reforms. On the upside, Cyprus’s agile and dynamic economy offers substantial potential for growth.

Cyprus’s strong fiscal position has reduced vulnerabilities. In 2024, the primary fiscal surplus reached 5.6 percent, fueled by significant revenue growth that more than compensated for increased public wages and social transfers. As a result, public debt decreased to 65 percent of GDP by the end of 2024, with substantial cash reserves supporting liquidity. This further increased resilience, built policy space for future shocks, and improved investor sentiment.

Fiscal policy should continue to prioritize debt reduction. Given overheating risks, it is crucial to avoid new discretionary measures that would ease fiscal policy and add to inflationary pressures. Instead, efforts should focus on reducing debt well below 60 percent of GDP, thereby ensuring a robust buffer against potential shocks. The authorities’ commitment to maintaining fiscal surpluses through 2028, as specified in the MTFSP under the new EU economic governance framework, supports this goal.

As spending pressures increase, careful management of fiscal space is essential. The financial commitments required for achieving climate and digital transitions will persist beyond the end of EU RRP funding. Additionally, an aging population will necessitate higher expenditures on pensions and healthcare, alongside other long-term expenditures. As a result, the scope for fiscal loosening in the medium term is constrained.

Public spending should emphasize investment while retaining flexibility in response to economic shocks. Capital expenditures should take precedence to enhance potential growth and facilitate the climate transition. At the same time, expanding current spending—such as increasing public wages, broadening subsidies, or introducing untargeted social programs—should be avoided. Specifically, the authorities should resist further increases to the COLA indexation or new ad-hoc salary increases to contain the existing substantial public-private wage gap and prevent additional pressure on real wage growth.

The banking sector boasts substantial capital and liquidity buffers, with financial risks appearing well-contained. Profitability metrics have reached record highs for the second consecutive year, and capitalization levels are now among the highest in Europe. Despite elevated interest rates, asset quality continues to improve, supported by strong economic growth. Nonetheless, ongoing vigilance is essential, particularly concerning the real estate sector.

Recent tightening of the macroprudential policy stance will enhance financial buffers further. The announced increase in the CCyB will bolster resilience by securing already high capital buffers without adversely affecting credit availability or economic growth. In the future, careful calibration of macroprudential policies should continue to strike a balance between financial stability and effective credit intermediation.

Although legacy NPLs continue to decrease, they remain at elevated levels. Most NPLs have been successfully transitioned away from the banking sector and do not pose a significant issue for financial stability. The ongoing resolution of legacy NPLs is expected to accelerate, given the full operationalization of the foreclosure framework and a strong uptake of the mortgage-to-rent scheme. Resolving legacy NPLs is expected to help mobilize domestic capital.

Structural reforms aimed at enhancing judicial efficiency and boosting labor productivity are vital for fostering long-term growth. With employment levels already high, capital deepening will increasingly drive growth. Consequently, policies must create a stable and streamlined business environment conducive to investment. Additional efforts are required in the judicial sector to strengthen the institutional framework for insolvency and creditor rights and to improve court efficiency. Labor policies should focus on addressing skill gaps and mismatches and engaging remaining segments of the labor force, particularly among youth and the long-term unemployed.

Key energy projects and reforms must be expedited to reduce energy costs, enhance energy security, and fulfill climate commitments. Completing the LNG terminal and improving electricity interconnectedness would represent significant progress toward these objectives. Additionally, increasing competition in the electricity market would help lower costs and emissions through market forces. The planned introduction of green taxation would further facilitate the energy transition.

Maintaining a strong AML framework is vital for mitigating reputational risks and business uncertainty. Ongoing efforts to broaden the definition of obliged entities for AML supervision are commendable. Furthermore, the proposed establishment of the National Sanctions Implementation Unit at the Ministry of Finance will enhance clarity for reporting entities regarding compliance with sanctions.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Fort Pierce Jury Convicts a Louisiana Registered Sex Offender of Various Internet Sex Crimes Involving a Martin County Minor

    Source: US FBI

MIAMI – On May 20, a federal jury sitting in Fort Pierce, Florida convicted Nicolas James Palmisano, 45, of Destrehan, Louisiana, for attempted enticement of a minor, attempted production of visual depictions involving sexual exploitation of a minor, receipt of visual depictions involving sexual exploitation of a minor, transfer of obscene material to a minor, and offense by a registered sex offender.

According to court records and evidence introduced during trial, in 2019, Palmisano was convicted in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana for sexual offenses involving a juvenile. Upon the completion of his four-year prison sentence, Palmisano registered as a sex offender with the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office in the town in which he resided.

In May 2024, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) learned that a minor had images of sexually explicit activity on her cellular phone. An MCSO computer forensic examiner recovered messages, images, and recordings from the minor’s cellular phone that were sent from Palmisano’s cellular number. Despite acknowledging that the minor was 15 years old, Palmisano wrote thousands of sexually explicit messages and sent multiple sexually explicit images, as well as audio and video recordings, of himself between February 22 and May 6, 2024. Palmisano also solicited, and obtained, sexually explicit images from the minor.

In August 2024, members of the FBI and MCSO arrested Palmisano at the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, after he arrived for his annual Sexual Offender Registration review and update. Law enforcement executed a search warrant on Palmisano’s residence and recovered his cellular phone, which was found to contain the sexually explicit material that Palmisano and the minor exchanged.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 25, before U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez. Palmisano faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 35 years up to life in prison, and up to a lifetime of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Hayden P. O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida, acting Special Agent in Charge Brett D. Skiles of FBI Miami, and Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek made the announcement.

FBI Fort Pierce investigated the case, with assistance from MCSO, FBI New Orleans, and St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Fort Pierce Branch Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney Carmen M. Lineberger and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Kahn Obenauf are prosecuting the case.

  • MIL-OSI: ABC arbitrage – Trading update – New elements of the 2025 financial year – increasing Pace of Activity

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

    Paris, June 2 2025 05:45 PM

    ABC arbitrage -Trading update

New elements of the 2025 financial year – increasing Pace of Activity

The purpose of this press release is to factually inform shareholders of any significant new developments regarding the first months of the 2025 fiscal year. As a reminder, to date, the statutory auditors have not yet completed all their work on the first semester of the 2025 fiscal year. The estimates provided in this press release do not replace the audited consolidated financial results for the first semester of the 2025 fiscal year, which will be published on September 23, 2025.

Business activity for the fiscal year 2025

Market parameters during the first months of 2025 are broadly comparable to those of the 2020 financial year, with notably higher volatility than in 2024. As at 31 May 2025, in line with these parameters, the monthly average Pace of Activity for the Group over the first five (5) months is more than 10% higher than the monthly average for the 2020 financial year (see 2020 Results). The Pace of Activity is regularly used in the Group’s communications. It is a non-audited indicator similar to the financial aggregate Net Trading Income1, which reflects a form of gross result (before expenses, taxes, and other specific or exceptional impacts). As a reminder, the Net Trading Income for the 2020 financial year was close to 69 million euros, representing a monthly average of approximately 6 million euros.

Expenditures for 2025 were estimated in the “FY2024” annual presentation, available since the end of March 2025 on the ABC arbitrage website (see Publications/2024 Annual Results Presentations). Based on 2024 expenses, slide 37 outlines the outlook for additional investments in the 2025 financial year, estimated at +3.5 million euros on a full-year basis (personnel and information technology-related expenses). As a reminder, personnel expenses are partly correlated with the Pace of Activity generated by the Group, through discretionary variable bonus distributions.

    Group assets under management

As of today, assets under management stand at 253 million euros, compared with 265 million euros as at January 1st, 2025. This decrease is primarily due to the withdrawal of a European client (12 million euros), which occurred at the end of January. With regard to the impact on management fees, all other things being equal, the effect of this withdrawal on the 2025 fiscal year results will be marginal (less than 0.2 million euros).

    ABC arbitrage shareholding

The Group was informed by Eximium of a downward crossing of the statutory thresholds in place at ABC arbitrage. These thresholds require a disclosure notification each time a 1% ownership threshold is crossed. As at 30 May 2025, Eximium is recorded as holding 5.2% of ABC arbitrage’s share capital. Eximium also stated that it intends to remain above the 5% ownership threshold in the Group’s capital.

  • MIL-OSI Global: Debunking 5 myths about when your devices get wet

Source: The Conversation – USA – By Rachel Plotnick, Associate Professor of Cinema and Media Studies, Indiana University

Consumer technologies get wet as a regular part of everyday life. Shuvro Mojumder/Unsplash , CC BY-SA

Nearly everyone has encountered the unthinkable: Your smartphone landed in the toilet. Or you forgot to take off your smartwatch before jumping into the pool. Or maybe you meant to take those earbuds out of your pocket before running the laundry. What now?

Internet forums are chock-full of advice to dry out that drenched device, but problematic myths about liquid protection and repair make it hard for consumers to separate fact from fiction.

I’m a researcher who studies how technologies play a part in people’s everyday practices and experiences. My new book, “License to Spill: Where Dry Devices Meet Liquid Lives,” explores the wet-dry boundary in how people perceive and treat their electronic devices.

Here are five common myths about getting devices wet:

Myth 1: My device turned back on! It’s fine

While it’s a relief to see your technology rise from the dead, what you can’t see are subtle processes occurring inside, like corrosion. The breakdown of your device’s metal parts due to moisture often happens over time, in a period that can take place days, weeks or months after the offending incident.

That’s why even humidity from moist climates or your steamy shower can make a long-term impact, despite the fact that everything booted up right away after a splash or dunk.

Myth 2: My ‘waterproof’ device can tolerate any kind of wetness

The term “waterproof” is a controversial one – so controversial, in fact, that the Federal Trade Commission has strict rules about using the term in advertising, once even banning it from ad copy selling wristwatches.

Given the vagueness of the term, it’s better to examine different water resistance standards, such as ingress protection, or IP, ratings and MIL-SPEC, or ISO in the case of watches, and to read the fine print about what those standards actually cover.

Myth 3: My device has a great IP rating, so it’s been tested under real-world conditions

Companies often advertise IP ratings as a way to entice consumers to purchase their products, but it’s important to know that these ratings are based on contact with fresh water. If you’re worried about Jacuzzi suds or that tipped-over can of beer, there’s no guarantee that a manufacturer has tested your device in these – often sticky – situations, and an IP rating won’t account for them.

Myth 4: I’ve got some rice in the kitchen. I can fix this myself!

It’s natural to panic and seek out the quickest household solution when a spill or dunk happens, and a cup of rice is still a commonly sought-out option.

However, the rice hack doesn’t work very well, and rice particles can enter the device to cause even further damage. Aside from bringing your device to a professional repairer, you’re better off immediately powering down your product, removing its battery and plug if you can, and letting all the components dry over a day or two.

Myth 5: Well, this device is broken, but I’ve got a warranty to replace it

While you’re pulling your product from its watery grave, you might find relief in the fact that it came with a warranty. Not so fast.

Most traditional consumer technology limited warranties don’t cover liquid damage. These days, you usually need to purchase an add-on warranty, often called Accidental Damage from Handling. Beware, though: Even those policies may limit how many wetness “incidents” or “events” you’re allowed per year.

Air flow is the best way to dry a device that’s taken a dunk. Don’t expose your device directly to rice, cat litter or other particles.

    Keeping it realistic

Water resistance features on devices like laptops, tablets, smartphones and smartwatches have recently improved, but the deck is still often stacked against consumers who must wade through the hype of advertising claims, mystifying classification systems and penalizing policies.

That’s why it’s critical for manufacturers to think carefully and ethically about how their products are designed, marketed and serviced. In terms of design, water resistance is no longer a niche feature meant solely for industrial workers or outdoor adventurers. While it’s unrealistic to expect a device that’s designed to resist every hazard, it’s also unreasonable to ask consumers to tiptoe around the products that provide them with access to critical resources and social support.

It’s important for manufacturers to avoid promising consumers the Moon. Samsung Australia, for instance, paid AU$14 million in penalties for exaggerating its phones’ protection for swimming. It’s certainly fun to watch commercials with Lil Wayne spray a smartphone with champagne or see him dunk it in a fish tank, but if manufacturers are advising against these practices, then they shouldn’t be romanticizing them.

Sure, it’s probably common sense that your phone shouldn’t take a bath in champagne. Yet life is constantly happening around – and with – our devices, from the shower and the kitchen to the gym and the beach. This means that fairer policies around repair, like those promoted by the right-to-repair movement, and warranties should stop treating consumers like they’re “bad” users.

After all, we’re each just one splash away from crying over spilled milk.

    • Findell Capital Management’s proposal to remove CEO Raul Vazquez from the Board would jeopardize the continuity, leadership and business insight needed to continue the Company’s significant progress, and would send a disruptive message to employees and stakeholders.
    • Compared to Mr. Vazquez’s proven leadership and deep understanding of Oportun’s business, Findell Capital’s nominee falls short of the necessary experience and expertise needed to effectively oversee the execution of the Company’s strategic objectives.

Oportun also recently mailed its definitive proxy materials in connection with the Annual Meeting. Stockholders of record as of May 27, 2025 are entitled to vote at the Annual Meeting, which will be held on July 18, 2025.

To ensure Oportun’s progress continues, Oportun’s Board urges stockholders to vote “FOR” Oportun’s two highly qualified nominees Raul Vazquez and Carlos Minetti – using the GREEN proxy card or GREEN voting instruction form. The letter to stockholders, definitive proxy materials and other important information related to the Annual Meeting can be found at VoteForOportun.com.

The full text of the letter to stockholders follows:

    Dear Fellow Stockholders,

The 2025 Annual Meeting of Stockholders (the “Annual Meeting”) of Oportun Financial Corporation (“Oportun” or the “Company”) is scheduled to be held on July 18, 2025. You have an important decision to make to support the continued execution of Oportun’s strategy to drive profitable growth and deliver stockholder value.

Enclosed you will find materials that describe Oportun’s strategy and the progress we have made to streamline the Company’s product portfolio, reduce costs and increase profitability, driven by our experienced management team and overseen by our Board of Directors (the “Board”).

We encourage you to review these materials carefully and vote today FOR each of the Company’s nominees standing for election at the Annual Meeting — Raul Vazquez and Carlos Minetti — using the enclosed GREEN proxy card.

Overview of Oportun & Our History

Over the past 19 years, Oportun has been guided by our mission: to provide inclusive, affordable financial services that empower hardworking people to build better futures.

By offering responsible credit at lower costs than typical alternatives, we serve individuals who are often overlooked and poorly served by traditional financial institutions. This has enabled us to extend over $20 billion in credit and help more than 1.3 million members build credit histories. Our strong customer loyalty is reflected in Net Promoter Scores consistently at or above 75 — well above industry norms.

To provide some background on how our strategy has evolved, we saw a compelling opportunity to extend our impact across underserved communities, deepen our relationship with our loyal members and unlock long-term value for stockholders by expanding our offerings and growing our loan portfolio from $5 million in 2009 to approximately $3 billion today. Supported by robust customer demand for holistic financial solutions as well as favorable credit and market conditions — including low inflation, interest rates, oil prices and unemployment — we embarked on our growth strategy.

We executed our growth strategy with discipline, expanding first into credit cards and then into secured personal loans before acquiring Digit in December of 2021, which added savings, investing and budgeting capabilities to our platform. We delivered strong growth and record aggregate originations in 2021, while maintaining some of the lowest net charge-off and 30+ day delinquency rates in our history.

Beginning in early 2022, however, the world changed — rapidly and unexpectedly. The war in Ukraine triggered a sharp increase in oil and energy prices, and supply chain disruptions contributed to rising and sustained inflation. The Federal Reserve began a series of rate increases to tame inflation, which led to a higher cost of capital for financial services companies. As a result, many financial services companies faced significant pressure, with some going out of business altogether.

Oportun was not immune to those headwinds. Our cost of capital increased significantly and many of our members, who typically have modest incomes and limited savings, were disproportionately affected by rising inflation and a higher cost of living, which impacted their ability to repay loans.

Our Response to Significant Macroeconomic Disruption

The management team and Board determined that our growth-focused strategy was no longer prudent under those economic conditions and took action to reposition the Company. We responded swiftly by shifting our focus from growth to profitability and predictability, realigning our business around our core strengths.

After initially tightening credit in the third quarter of 2021, we proactively announced further significant credit actions during our second quarter 2022 earnings call — despite meeting or exceeding all guidance metrics, including credit. We also announced our intention to significantly reduce operating expense growth to flat in the second half of 2022 compared to the first.

We continued to tighten credit in subsequent quarters, leading to an approximately 600 basis point reduction in first quarter 2025 losses for recent loan vintages compared to early 2022 vintages. We also took decisive steps to reduce our cost structure, including four reductions-in-force and targeted operational streamlining. Those initiatives — which also included non-personnel expense cuts, the exit of capital-intensive products and the sale of our credit card portfolio — eliminated approximately $240 million in annualized expenses.

Today, Oportun is focused on three strategic priorities to drive sustainable, profitable growth:

    • Improving credit outcomes
    • Strengthening business economics
    • Identifying high-quality originations

Our Business Transformation is Yielding Measurable Results

While we recognize that there is more work to do, our team is executing well. Our progress across each of our strategic priorities is evident in our recent financial results.

During the first quarter of 2025, we grew aggregate originations by nearly 40% year-over-year while delivering strong credit metrics, including our fifth consecutive year-over-year decline in 30+ day delinquency rate. Our adjusted operating expense ratio of 13.3% was also our second lowest ever as a public company, underscoring our ongoing focus on expense discipline.

Supported by a more efficient cost structure and improved credit performance, we believe Oportun is well-positioned to deliver strong financial results in 2025. We continue to expect 2025 adjusted EPS guidance of $1.10 to $1.30 reflecting year-over-year growth of 53% to 81%.

The market has recognized our progress: our total stockholder returns have significantly outperformed our peers and the broader markets year-to-date, over the last six months and over the past year.

Today, Oportun is stronger, more resilient and more focused than it was three years ago. We are confident in our ability to deliver sustainable, profitable growth going forward.

    Our Board & Governance

At this year’s Annual Meeting, Oportun is nominating two candidates for election to the Board: Raul Vazquez, Oportun’s CEO, and Carlos Minetti, one of our independent directors.

As Oportun’s CEO, Mr. Vazquez has unique insight into the day-to-day operation of our business and has been instrumental in leading Oportun through its transformation as well as through several credit and economic cycles. As a significant stockholder, his interests are strongly aligned with those of our investors, reinforcing his commitment to long-term success.

Mr. Minetti is one of the Board’s newest directors, having been appointed in February 2024. He has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, including expertise in consumer lending and credit risk. He has held leadership roles at companies like Stripe, Discover and American Express.

If elected, Mr. Vazquez and Mr. Minetti will serve alongside the Company’s six other directors, each of whom has played an important role in overseeing our progress. These directors bring critical expertise in areas that are essential to our business, including financial services, credit risk, consumer lending, government regulation, capital markets and technology.

In addition to the election of directors, stockholders can also vote at this year’s Annual Meeting on proposals to amend the Company’s governing documents to declassify the Board and allow stockholders to amend and approve amendments to our governing documents with a simple majority vote. These two proposals reflect our ongoing commitment to effective oversight and governance and, if approved, would enhance stockholder rights and strengthen accountability.

    This Year’s Annual Meeting

Despite the meaningful progress we have made, one of our stockholders, Findell Capital Management, LLC (together with its affiliates, “Findell”) is once again pursuing a proxy contest, this time seeking to remove our CEO from the Board and replace him with its own candidate.

Over the last several years, we have engaged extensively with Findell in good faith. Since the beginning of 2023, members of the Board and management team have had dozens of interactions with Findell’s principal to understand his perspective and explore areas for alignment.

We have objectively considered Findell’s suggestions and embraced more than a few of its recommendations, including recently when we determined to reduce the size of the Board and appoint a new Lead Independent Director after the Annual Meeting. We have also independently undertaken initiatives consistent with Findell’s feedback, including reducing expenses, streamlining our business and enhancing our corporate governance profile.

We do not believe Findell’s nominee is a suitable replacement for Mr. Vazquez. Removing our CEO from the Board would jeopardize the continuity, leadership and business insight we need to continue the significant progress we’ve made, and would send a disruptive message to our employees and other stakeholders.

Thank you for your support and investment in Oportun as we continue to work to create value on behalf of all stakeholders.

    Sincerely,
The Oportun Financial Corporation Board of Directors

    Non-GAAP Financial Measures
This communication includes the presentation and discussion of certain financial measures that are not calculated in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”).

Adjusted Net Income is a non-GAAP financial measure defined as net income adjusted to eliminate the effect of certain items. We believe that Adjusted Net Income is an important measure of operating performance because it allows management, investors, and our Board of Directors to evaluate and compare our operating results, including return on capital and operating efficiencies, from period to period, excluding the after-tax impact of non-cash, stock-based compensation expense and certain non-recurring charges.

Adjusted Earnings (Loss) Per Share is a non-GAAP financial measure defined as Adjusted Net Income divided by weighted average diluted shares outstanding. We believe Adjusted Earnings (Loss) Per Share is an important measure because it allows management, investors and our Board of Directors to evaluate the operating results, operating trends and profitability of the business in relation to diluted adjusted weighted-average shares outstanding.

Adjusted Operating Expense is a non-GAAP financial measure defined as total operating expenses adjusted to exclude stock-based compensation expense and certain non-recurring charges, such as expenses associated with our workforce optimization, and other non-recurring charges. Other non-recurring charges include litigation reserve, impairment charges, and debt amendment costs related to our corporate financing facility. We believe Adjusted Operating Expense is an important measure because it allows management, investors and our Board of Directors to evaluate and compare our operating costs from period to period, excluding the impact of non-cash, stock-based compensation expense and certain non-recurring charges.

Adjusted Operating Expense Ratio is a non-GAAP financial measure defined as Adjusted Operating Expense divided by Average Daily Principal Balance. We believe Adjusted Operating Expense Ratio is an important measure because it allows management, investors and our Board of Directors to evaluate how efficiently we are managing costs relative to revenue and Average Daily Principal Balance.

  • MIL-OSI United Nations: Republic of Moldova: National Roadmap for Critical Infrastructure Resilience

    Source: UNISDR Disaster Risk Reduction

The Republic of Moldova: National Roadmap for Critical Infrastructure Resilience report assesses vulnerabilities of Moldova’s critical infrastructure systems against disaster risks, including systemic and cascading impacts, as well as interdependencies during disruptions. It identifies gaps and proposes improvements in policies, regulations, and their implementation, along with areas for enhanced coordination across sectors and governance levels. The report outlines cross-sectoral and sector-specific Resilience Action Plans, balancing short-term preparedness with long-term strategies, aligning with Moldova’s National Disaster Risk Reduction Strategy and the EU National Accession Programme.

This report was co-financed within the framework of the Polish development cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, as part of the “Strengthening critical infrastructure resilience in the Republic of Moldova” project. The project applied the global methodology on infrastructure resilience reviews developed by UNDRR and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure to assess the resilience of Moldova’s critical infrastructure, focusing on energy, ICT, transport, and water sectors. Moldova became the first country in Europe and Central Asia to adopt this approach, which has been implemented in Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America.

The project was supported by a Technical Working Group co-chaired by UNDRR and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, comprising representatives from six ministries, the State Chancellery, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, and the Agency for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre, along with UN agencies and civil society organizations. The initiative included consultations, webinars, and workshops, such as the stress test and resilience scorecard workshop.

Cybersecurity experts and policymakers from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Caucasus and Mongolia explored cyber norms and confidence-building measures (CBMs) at a workshop in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, organized by the OSCE Transnational Threats Department on 27 and 28 May.
The 21 workshop participants discussed the use of and nexus between CBMs — a key element of how states build transparency, co-operation and trust in cyberspace — and cyber norms, which set standards for responsible state conduct.
“The OSCE is the first regional organization to develop and adopt CBMs for cyberspace, providing practical steps and voluntary actions designed to increase transparency, foster communication and build trust. This workshop has been designed with a cross-regional perspective, particularly seeking to highlight good practices from the ASEAN region. I am pleased that we have many expert speakers from ASEAN and the OSCE contributing their valuable insight,” said Alena Kupchyna, OSCE Co-ordinator of Activities to Address Transnational Threats, in her opening remarks.
Through expert-led discussions, the workshop explored national and regional strategies and challenges, highlighting areas for possible future joint efforts. It also facilitated an inter-regional exchange of good practices with experts from Southeast Asia and provided a platform for closer co-operation.
“Mongolia attaches great importance to international collaboration, mutual trust, and the exchange of best practices, which are more vital than ever in safeguarding the integrity and resilience of our shared cyberspace. We have been a steadfast supporter and active participant in confidence-building measures led by the United Nations, the OSCE, and the ASEAN Regional Forum, contributing to regional peace, trust, and security,” said P. Altan-Od, State Secretary of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications of Mongolia.
During an exercise involving a fictitious cyber incident, participants put their theoretical knowledge to the test. They explored how to use international norms and CBMs during an incident and the role of national preparedness and regional co-operation in responding to cyber threats.
“Cyber confidence-building measures are not just diplomatic niceties — they are essential instruments of peace and security in the digital age. As the cyber domain continues to grow in importance, the need for structured, co-operative approaches to prevent conflict and enhance collective resilience is urgent,” said Marius Stucki, Counsellor, Deputy Head of the Political Section of the Embassy of Switzerland in the People’s Republic of China.
The workshop was delivered as part of the OSCE extrabudgetary project, “Activities and customized support for the implementation of OSCE cyber/ICT security confidence-building measures”, with financial support from Switzerland.

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

    Press Release
Vodafone Qatar selects Nokia in major network modernization deal to drive expanded 5G coverage, reliability, and services

    • The deal entails Core modernization, expanded 5G capacity, and enhanced broadband to strengthen network reliability, service offering, and efficiency.

    2 June 2025
Espoo, Finland – Nokia today announced a major agreement with Vodafone Qatar to lead a nationwide network modernization that will enable the operator to deliver faster, more secure, and highly adaptable 5G services to consumers and businesses across the country, while preparing the network for next-generation innovations.

In a major expansion of the two companies’ partnership, Vodafone Qatar will leverage Nokia’s end-to-end technology to boost network capacity and reduce latency while accelerating time-to-market with new capabilities and introducing greater agility through automation and enhanced security measures.

As demand for high-speed connectivity surges in Qatar’s rapidly growing digital economy where the ICT sector is forecast to grow at an 8.5% annual rate through 2030, the operator is committed to meet those needs. Nokia’s solutions will help transform the network with intelligent broadband access, new enterprise offerings provided through 5G slicing, and infrastructure that can easily evolve as digital applications advance.

“Vodafone Qatar continuously embraces new opportunities to deploy emerging technologies as part of its commitment to driving digital transformation in Qatar, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. Our work with Nokia enables us to become more agile and responsive to the evolving needs of customers and businesses. By integrating advanced fiber, mobile, and cloud capabilities, we are shaping a smarter, more secure network that can support everything from customized home Wi-Fi to the latest enterprise technologies,” said Sheikh Hamad Abdulla Jassim Al-Thani, Chief Executive Officer, Vodafone Qatar.

“This collaboration reflects the depth of our portfolio and the strength of our partnership with Vodafone Qatar. Through more flexible scaling, reliability, and near zero-touch automation that our advanced core and broadband solutions deliver, Nokia will provide greater network agility and service offerings, and provide our partner with all the tools they need to more efficiently manage and extract greater value from their network assets,” said Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services, Nokia.

Nokia’s multi-cloud core software solutions, including Packet Core, Converged Charging, and Networks Data Analytics Function, running on the latest cloud technologies will bring cloud-native grade automation, agility, and scalability to Vodafone Qatar’s multi-access core network.

Nokia Digital Operations software will boost the operator’s journey towards fully autonomous networks with end-to-end orchestration, 5G slicing automation, and AI-driven assurance, enabling rapid delivery and highest reliability of services.

Nokia’s integration of automation across IP and optical networks, provided by NSP, combined with a five-year managed services agreement for core operations, will help accelerate service rollouts, reduce costs, and ensure a future-ready network architecture.

Together, these advancements will set a new standard for end-to-end digital transformation in Qatar and reaffirm Nokia’s position as a trusted technology partner for service providers worldwide.

  • Man attacks Colorado crowd with firebombs, 6 people injured

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

Six people were injured on Sunday when a 45-year-old man yelled “Free Palestine” and threw incendiary devices into a crowd in Boulder, Colorado where a demonstration to remember the Israeli hostages who remain in Gaza was taking place, authorities said.

Six victims aged between 67 and 88 years old were transported to hospitals, the FBI special agent in charge of the Denver Field Office, Mark Michalek, said. At least one of them was in a critical condition, authorities said.

“As a result of these preliminary facts, it is clear that this is a targeted act of violence and the FBI is investigating this as an act of terrorism,” Michalek said.

Michalek named the suspect as Mohamed Soliman, who was hospitalized shortly after the attack.

FBI Director Kash Patel also described the incident as a “targeted terror attack,” and Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said it appeared to be “a hate crime given the group that was targeted.” Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn said he did not believe anyone else was involved.

“We’re fairly confident we have the lone suspect in custody,” he said.

The attack took place on the Pearl Street Mall, a popular pedestrian shopping district in the shadow of the University of Colorado, during an event organized by Run for Their Lives, an organization devoted to drawing attention to the hostages seized in the aftermath of Hamas’s 2023 attack on Israel.

In a statement, the group said the walks have been held every week since then for the hostages, “without any violent incidents until today.”

The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the United States over Israel’s war in Gaza, which has spurred both an increase in antisemitic hate crime as well as moves by conservative supporters of Israel led by President Donald Trump to brand pro-Palestinian protests as antisemitic. His administration has detained protesters of the war without charge and cut off funding to elite U.S. universities that have permitted such demonstrations.

In a post to X, a social network, Trump’s deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller said Soliman had overstayed his visa and been allowed to work by the previous administration. He said it was further evidence of the need to “fully reverse” what he described as “suicidal migration.”

When asked about Soliman, the Department of Homeland Security said more information would be provided as it became available.

    VICTIMS BURNED

Brooke Coffman, a 19-year-old at the University of Colorado who witnessed the Boulder incident, said she saw four women lying or sitting on the ground with burns on their legs. One of them appeared to have been badly burned on most of her body and had been wrapped in a flag by someone, she said.

She described seeing a man whom she presumed to be the attacker standing in the courtyard shirtless, holding a glass bottle of clear liquid and shouting.

“Everybody is yelling, ‘get water, get water,’” Coffman said.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, a prominent Jewish Democrat, said it was an antisemitic attack.

“This is horrifying, and this cannot continue. We must stand up to antisemitism,” he said on X.

The attack follows last month’s arrest of a Chicago-born man in the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C. Someone opened fire on a group of people leaving an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee, an advocacy group that fights antisemitism and supports Israel.

The shooting fueled polarization in the United States over the war in Gaza between supporters of Israel and pro-Palestinian demonstrators.

Colorado Governor Jared Polis posted on social media that it was “unfathomable that the Jewish community is facing another terror attack here in Boulder.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Scanlon, Raskin, Jayapal, Crockett, Nadler, Johnson, McBath Statement on DOJ Targeting of Representative McIver

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon(PA-5)

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (PA-05), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, today joined Reps. Jamie Raskin (MD-08), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Ranking Member of the Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Subcommittee, Jasmine Crockett (TX-30), Ranking Member of the Oversight Subcommittee, Jerrold Nadler (NY-10), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, Hank Johnson (GA-04), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet, and Lucy McBath (GA-07), Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Crime and Federal Government Surveillance, in releasing the following statement in response to Justice’s (DOJ) unfounded targeting of Representative LaMonica McIver (NJ-10):

“The targeting of Representative McIver is a blatant attempt to intimidate Members of Congress and to block our oversight of this administration’s actions, which have been enjoined more than 150 times by federal courts. We stand by Representative McIver’s exercise of her constitutional rights and duties. If you come for the legal rights of one of us, you come for the rights of all of us.

“Members of Congress have the right to conduct oversight, full stop — whether that’s holding Cabinet officials accountable or visiting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities. Representative McIver was performing her proper oversight role, a role she was elected by the American people to do — and even participated in a one-hour tour after the incident occurred.

“Charging Members of Congress for doing our jobs is a dangerous precedent to set. It reveals the increasingly authoritarian nature of this Administration and its relentless, illegal attempts to suppress any dissent or oversight, including from judges, Members of Congress, and the American people, which check lawless executive power. Representative McIver has our full support, and we will do everything in our power to help fight this outrageous threat to our constitutional system.”

    Background:

Section 527 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118-47) explicitly states that the Department of Homeland Security cannot prevent Members of Congress from “entering, for the purpose of conducting oversight, any facility operated by or for the Department of Homeland Security used to detain or otherwise house aliens […]. The law goes on to state that “Nothing in this section may be construed to require a Member of Congress to provide prior notice of the intent to enter a facility […] for the purpose of conducting oversight.”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Congressman Van Drew Releases Statement on the Passage of the Reconciliation Package through the House

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Jeff Van Drew (NJ02)

Washington, DC –Today, Congressman Van Drew discussed the passage of H.R. 1, the budget reconciliation.

“This morning, House Republicans passed the budget reconciliation package,” said Congressman Van Drew. “I want to make it clear that in this bill there are NO cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security for the people these programs were designed to serve. I have been deeply disturbed by the misinformation the left has been circulating surrounding this bill, so I wanted to take the opportunity to give you a breakdown of what is being said versus what is actually true.”

    Medicaid-

FICTION: Millions of eligible Americans will lose their coverage.

FACT: Medicaid for eligible individuals remains fully funded and protected.

    • Children, seniors, the disabled, pregnant women, and working families remain fully protected.
    • The bill ends loopholes that allow illegal immigrants to access Medicaid.
    • The bill enacts work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents—20 hours a week of work/volunteer requirements, including online courses.
    • The estimate of eligible Americans losing coverage comes from a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projection which assumes no compliance with these work requirements over 10 years which is just not realistic.

    Medicare-

FICTION: Medicare is being slashed by $500 billion.

FACT: Medicare remains untouched, unharmed, and fully funded.

    • The $500 billion figure comes from a technical scoring mechanism, not from any policy that is actually in the bill. There will be no cuts.
    • House Republicans are already preparing a waiver to the mechanism so no Medicare cuts will ever take effect under this bill.

    Social Security-

FICTION: This bill cuts Social Security benefits.

FACT: There are no changes to eligibility, benefits, or payment schedules.

    • Not one line of the bill touches Social Security at all.
    • The bill even includes a $4,000 tax deduction for individuals over 65, offering relief to our seniors.
    • Some may be curious why ‘No Tax on Social Security’ was not included:
      • A Senate rule, the Byrd rule, prohibits non-budgetary items like Social Security changes from being included in a reconciliation bill to ensure that reconciliation legislation focuses strictly on budget-related changes.
    • In light of this, I recently introduced H.R. 904, the No Tax on Social Security Act, which would provide much-needed relief for our seniors. I will not give up on this fight to stop taxing Social Security benefits. We need to get this done.

    Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)-

FICTION: SNAP benefits are being slashed.

FACT: SNAP remains fully funded and intact under the legislation.

    • Vulnerable Americans, including children, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities, will not see a reduction in access to SNAP benefits.
    • The reforms apply only to able-bodied adults without dependents and are aimed at increasing accountability.
    • The reforms focus solely on reducing administrative costs, not cutting benefits.
    • The legislation rebalances the cost-sharing structure between the federal government and the states to improve oversight, reduce fraud, ensure benefits go only to eligible recipients, and protect the long-term sustainability of the program.
    • States with high payment error rates exceeding 10% will now have to share in the cost of those administrative errors, ensuring that the money is not wasted and that it is actually going to the people who deserve and need it.

“I do want to note the version the House voted on is not the final version of the bill. There will be changes as it now moves to the Senate before final passage and signature into law,” Congressman Van Drew continued. “I have been heavily involved in negotiations for the House version of this bill, and I will continue to closely monitor the bill as changes are made in the Senate to ensure there are no cuts to the programs our people rely on. I have said it before, and I will say it again: we owe it to hardworking American families to ensure these vital programs remain strong and funded.”

Other Key Provisions of the Bill Include:

    • Locking in the 2017 Trump tax cuts to prevent a 22% tax increase on working families
    • Eliminating federal taxes on tips, overtime pay, and car loan interest
    • Repealing Biden’s Green New Deal mandates, EV rules, and environmental slush funds
    • Resuming oil and gas leasing on federal lands and streamlining energy permitting
    • Investing over $140 billion in border security—the largest investment in U.S. history
    • Completing the border wall and enabling over 1 million deportations annually
    • Hiring 10,000 new ICE personnel and expanding detention capacity to 100,000 beds
    • Modernizing national defense with nearly $144 billion in military investments
    • Achieving over $1.5 trillion in net deficit reduction—the largest in nearly 30 years

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Dmitry Chernyshenko: Children and youth of Russia have a huge number of paths, but even more opportunities

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Government of the Russian Federation – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

At the “Movement of the First” festival at VDNKh, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the participants on Children’s Day, discussed their projects with schoolchildren, greeted the “Eaglets of Russia” and assessed the work of the sports zone.

A presentation of four socially significant projects by Russian high school students took place in the lecture hall of the Znanie Society. The discussion was also attended by the general director of the Znanie Society, Maxim Dreval.

“Friends, you have a huge number of paths, but even more opportunities, because President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin gave us an order – this is a whole national goal: to create conditions for the realization of opportunities, the disclosure of your talents. Today we have gathered here to consider some of the projects that you are doing. All of them are very interesting and deserve that we listen to them together. We will definitely think about how to support the most successful projects,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

A student of Lyceum No. 1 of the Krasnoarmeysky District of Volgograd, finalist of the All-Russian competition “Knowledge. Lecturer” Alesya Zhuk presented the project “Made with Care in Russia”. Its mission is to promote the preservation and popularization of traditional folk crafts and trades. The idea is aimed at creating an all-Russian database of artisans and an interactive map of the origin of crafts.

Dmitry Chernyshenko said that it is important to decide within the framework of what large event to hold such a festival of traditional crafts, to think through the mechanics and program.

A student of Bauman Engineering School No. 1580 in Shatura, Alexandra Zhelnova, and a student of Moscow School No. 727, Margarita Starostina, presented the project “Pro podderzhki” – a service for supporting teenagers and their parents. The high school students want to create a tool that will distract children from the negative influence of the Internet, direct them to development and creativity, and help parents improve their relationships with their children.

The Deputy Prime Minister drew attention to the importance of ensuring the protection of personal data, the anonymity of users, and also recommended adding functionality with the ability to find activities to one’s liking.

Muscovite Daniil Makatrov, a student at the Classical Boarding School of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, spoke about smart sensors for sports analytics using artificial intelligence – YouChip. The product significantly increases the efficiency of players and coaches, reduces the number of errors and speeds up decision-making by members of a sports club. The creator of the project is confident that the solution is applicable in any game sport, and the technology will be useful in industry, logistics, and other areas.

Dmitry Chernyshenko gave recommendations on the commercialization of the project and noted that he would instruct the Ministry of Sports to consider the possibility of subsidizing in order to make the technology accessible to schools.

Maria Aleksandrova, a student of the V. M. Komarov School with Advanced Study of English in Zvezdny Gorodok, Moscow Region, a finalist of the All-Russian competition “Knowledge. Lecturer”, presented the “Promkod” project. This is a new tourist platform for schoolchildren, parents and teachers, where enterprises from 13 industrial sectors will be presented, available for school excursions.

The Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the federal project “Professionality” and announced plans to give its partner companies the opportunity to become familiar with the “Promcode”.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the depth and professional level of the projects’ preparation: “It turned out that you are helping to implement the President’s order, for which a separate national project “Youth and Children” was created. Thank you very much!”

In addition, at the “Movement of the First” festival, Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated the “Orlyat Rossii” on Children’s Day and joining the “Movement of the First”:

“Now you will always be first! Thanks to our President, you have a huge number of opportunities to realize your talents. And we will try to make it happen for you.”

Together with the deputy chairman of the board of the “Movement of the First”, Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny, the deputy prime minister assessed the sports zone, including phygital. Thus, the festival hosts the sites of the “Healthy Fatherland” movement, the Spartak football club, the Rugby Sports Federation, the Drone Racing Federation, the Gymnastics Federation and the Boxing Federation.

Don’t Miss Out: Start Automated Trading with Trade 350’s Proven AI Signals Now!

If one notices the trends in the cryptocurrency market, one can see that most of the people involved in storing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are now moving into those transactions. Interestingly, this trend has been visible since 2017. So, what led to this transformation?

    What Is Trade 350 App?

Trade 350 App is a digital currency trading platform that ensures safe trading on global cryptocurrency exchanges. Following a quick and thorough analysis of market volatility, members can access charts and tables on their account pages. Traders with cryptocurrency experts rely on this trading platform for accurate data analysis as such huge amounts of data cannot be collected, processed, and analyzed.
Trade 350 App bills itself as a next-generation trading solution that leverages machine-learning algorithms to identify high-probability opportunities across Forex, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and equities. Founded in 2023 by a team of former quants and software engineers, Trade 350 aims to democratize sophisticated algorithmic strategies once reserved for hedge funds and institutional traders.

    • Core proposition: Turnkey, AI-powered signals for retail traders.
    • Supported markets: Major forex pairs (EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY), top cryptos (BTC, ETH, XRP), indices (S&P 500, NASDAQ), and commodities (gold, oil).
    • Minimum deposit: $250 USD (or local equivalent).
    • Platforms: Web dashboard plus native iOS/Android apps.
    • Languages: English, Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Portuguese.

From a high level, Trade 350’s pitch is simple: eliminate guesswork, automate trade execution, and maximize risk-adjusted returns. But ambitious marketing claims warrant a closer look—especially when unregulated brokers are notorious for opacity.

How Trade 350’s AI Engine Works
At the heart of Trade 350 is a multi-layer neural-network engine trained on years of historical price data, technical indicators, and real-time sentiment signals (social media trends, news headlines). Key components include:

    1. Data ingestion layer
      • Feeds: Tick-level order-book snapshots, minute-bar OHLC data, macroeconomic calendar events, social sentiment APIs.
      • Refresh rate: Sub-second for price data; 1–5 seconds for sentiment.
    2. Feature engineering & pattern recognition
      • Technical filters: Moving-average crossovers, RSI divergences, Bollinger Band squeezes.
      • Seasonal factors: Day-of-week and month-of-year patterns.
      • Sentiment overlays: News-driven volatility spikes, Twitter-derived bullish/bearish sentiment.
    3. Signal generation module
      • Ensemble of classifiers (random forests, gradient boosting, LSTM networks) votes on entry signals.
      • Risk scoring: Each signal is given a probability score (0–100%) and a recommended position size.
    4. Order management & execution
      • API integration with partner brokers for sub-100 ms order execution.
      • Smart order routing to minimize slippage.

    Why it matters:
A genuinely robust AI engine can adapt to shifting market regimes—bull cycles, bear markets, sideways consolidations—whereas static rule-based “signal” products often fail under stress. Users should, however, be mindful that no AI can predict “black swan” events (e.g., flash crashes, geopolitical shocks).

This only takes a few milliseconds, so members of this trading platform can trade before the market takes the next step.

The software’s built-in time-hop function allows traders to advance 0.01 seconds in the cryptocurrency market. This software allows them to predict future market positions with 100% accuracy and offers reliable trading opportunities.

Setting the parameters to one’s liking keeps one in control of one’s operations.

It provides people with 24/7 online customer service. The team is happy to answer any questions or concerns about how the program works. The customer service team investigates and provides the correct information and resolves all queries.

    Quick registration

Trade 350 Apps also offer fast withdrawals. Withdrawal requests are processed in approximately one day. Traders always receive their income in their bank accounts.

    Low deposit

People have to deposit a basic amount of $250 with a Trade 350 App. It is seed capital. One can make thousands with this investment. Also, keep in mind that the investment is directly proportional to profit. Therefore, as one continues to increase their trading capital, the profits will continue to increase proportionally.

    Cost-effective

The Bitcoin trading platform is free. No registrations, withdrawals, subscriptions or other hidden costs will be deducted. The developer will charge people a small “maintenance fee.” The program will deduct this as a small percentage of the income. These maintenance costs are used to provide an updated and error-free version of the software.

    Trading Modes: Demo vs. Live
Trade 350 offers two distinct modes:

    • Demo Mode
      • Virtual balance (default $10,000 play money).
      • Full access to AI signals and all trading tools.
      • Ideal for newcomers to learn signal interpretation and order execution.
    • Live Mode
      • Real-money trading.
      • Adjustable risk parameters (see Section 6).
      • Access to same AI signals as demo but with real-world execution constraints (slippage, broker latency).

Best practice: Begin in demo to fine-tune your settings and understand drawdowns. Transition to live only when consistently profitable on paper.

    FAQs

Is Trade 350 App a scam?
No—evidence from withdrawals, Trustpilot ratings, and expert reviews points to a legitimate, albeit unregulated, broker platform.
How much can I realistically earn?
Performance varies widely with settings; users report 5–15% monthly on moderate risk settings—but past performance is no guarantee.
What happens if Trade 350 goes offline?
With custodial funds held by partner brokers, your balance remains with those brokers. Trade 350’s role is signal generation and order routing.
Can I withdraw my original deposit anytime?
Yes—withdrawals incur no fees and typically process within 48 hours, subject to your bank’s timelines.

Do you want to gain experience while trading software?

No, you don’t need to be an experienced trader when trading with the Trade 350 App software. An easy-to-use program for beginners that anyone can use to earn passive returns. We do everything from market research to profit recording.
Does Trade 350 offer educational resources?
Yes—webinars, tutorials, and a knowledge base covering technical indicators, AI fundamentals, and platform navigation.

Can I take advantage of market volatility when trading CFDs?

Yes, you can take advantage of market volatility in CFD trading. However, it is not easy for the human mind to accurately predict the future position of the market. In most cases, human predictions are wrong. This is not the case with trading software such as Trade 350 Apps, which can accurately predict and record profits.

How much time should you spend on the platform per day?

You don’t have to spend hours on the platform to monitor your trades as the software does all the work for you. You can focus on your main task and other aspects of your life as Trade 350 Apps execute profitable trades for you around the clock.

You can log in for 20 minutes a day, change trading parameters and withdraw your profits.

    Fees, Spreads & Pricing Structure
Trade 350’s revenue model is simple:

    • Spreads only: No subscription or platform fees.
    • Typical spreads:
      • Forex major pairs: 0.8 – 1.5 pips
      • Crypto (BTC/USD): 0.10% – 0.20%
      • Indices: 0.5 – 1.0 index points

By relying solely on spreads, Trade 350 aligns its interests with active trading volume—higher client activity bolsters revenue without nickel-and-diming through extra commissions.
Hidden costs? None disclosed—users only pay the buy-sell spread. Always check real-time spreads on the platform before placing large trades, as volatility can widen spreads temporarily.

    RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH FUTURES TRADING
Futures transactions involve high risk. The amount of the initial margin is low compared to the value of the futures contract, so that transactions are “leveraged” or “geared”. A relatively small market movement has a proportionately larger impact on the funds that you have deposited or have to pay: this can work both for you and against you. You may experience the total loss of the initial margin funds as well as any additional funds deposited in the system. If the market develops in a way that is contrary to your position or if margins are increased, you may be asked to pay significant additional funds at short notice to maintain your position. In this case it may also happen that your broker account is in the red and you thus have to make payments beyond the initial investment.
    RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTRONIC TRADING
Before you begin carrying out transactions with an electronic system, you should carefully review the rules and provisions of the stock exchange offering the system, or of the financial instruments listed that you intend to trade, as well as your broker’s conditions. Online trading has inherent risks due to system responses/reaction times and access times that may vary due to market conditions, system performance and other factors, and on which you have no influence. You should be aware of these additional risks in electronic trading before you carry out investment transactions.

For each watch, probabilities for particular events inside the watch (listed above in each table) are determined by the issuing forecaster. The “Low” category contains probability values ranging from less than 2% to 20% (EF2-EF5 tornadoes), less than 5% to 20% (all other probabilities), “Moderate” from 30% to 60%, and “High” from 70% to greater than 95%. High values are bolded and lighter in color to provide awareness of an increased threat for a particular event.
