  • MIL-OSI Security: Two Washington Men Sentenced to 70 Years in Prison for Producing and Distributing Child Sexual Abuse Material

Source: Office of United States Attorneys

Spokane, Washington – Acting United States Attorney Richard R. Barker announced that on May 27, 2025, Tony J. Bolen, age 44, and Casey Allen Greer, age 48, were sentenced for Production of Child Pornography, Conspiracy to Produce Child Pornography, and Commission of a Felony Sex Offense by an Individual Required to Register as a Sex Offender. Greer was additionally sentenced for Distribution of Child Pornography, and Bolen was sentenced for Receipt and Transportation of Child Pornography. Bolen and Greer were convicted of these crimes on November 25, 2024, following a jury trial. United States District Judge Mary K. Dimke sentenced both men to 70 years in prison, followed by a life term of supervised release.  Judge Dimke also imposed a $5,000 assessment under the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, as to both men, and ordered Greer to pay $18,500 in restitution to victims.

According to court documents and information disclosed at trial and sentencing, beginning in October 2021, and continuing to December 2021, Bolen and Greer worked together to produce image and video files depicting the sexual abuse of a young child that Greer had sexually abused as early as May 2021. Bolen and Greer discussed when Greer would have access to the minor and how Greer would medicate the victim to ensure the victim’s compliance during the sexual abuse. During one such communication, Greer advised that the medication he had administered to the victim had not worked.  He stated that he needed something like chloroform to keep the victim from fighting him.  Nonetheless, Greer repeatedly sent images and videos of the sexual abuse to Bolen. In written text messages, Bolen directed Greer to sexually abuse the victim in a specific way, record the abuse, and send it to him.

Bolen and Greer both have prior Washington State convictions for Child Molestation. Because of these convictions, Bolen and Greer were required under state and federal law to register as sex offenders at the time of the above-listed offenses.

At sentencing, Judge Dimke advised both defendants that the conduct they engaged in was heinous and victimized both the child involved, the child’s family, and the community at large.  She stated that the intention of the 70-year sentence imposed for each defendant is to ensure that neither man was ever released back into the community.  She spoke directly to the victim and the victim’s family, thanking them for their confidence and patience with the justice system.  Judge Dimke also spoke directly to the victim, stating, “You are strong.  You are brave…this does not define you.  You have a very bright future ahead of you.”

“The defendants’ actions in this case were nothing short of horrific. They subjected a young child to unspeakable abuse, using sleep-inducing substances to control and exploit their victim,” stated Acting U.S. Attorney Barker. I am deeply grateful to Assistant United States Attorneys Ann Wick and Laurel Holland, whose tireless efforts and personal sacrifices were instrumental in bringing these offenders to justice. Trials like this one are emotionally grueling, but AUSAs Wick and Holland remained unwavering in their commitment to the victim and to the pursuit of justice. Because of this extraordinary dedication, Mr. Bolen and Mr. Greer will never again have the opportunity to harm another child.”

AUSA Ann Wick, one of the lead prosecutors, added, “I am profoundly moved by the bravery of victims in cases like this one. Their courage in this case has ensured that two repeat sex offenders will no longer have the chance to harm innocent children. Justice was served because of the victim’s strength.”

“These significant sentences represent a step toward justice for the immense harm these two individuals inflicted on the victim and their family,” said ICE Homeland Security Investigations Seattle acting Special Agent in Charge Matthew Murphy. “HSI and our partners remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable, and we will continue to ensure that those who commit such heinous crimes are held fully accountable.”

“Exceptional sentencing is appropriate for exceptionally heinous criminal acts.  Certainly, those who take sexual advantage of our young and vulnerable must be removed from our streets and communities and the Washington State Patrol appreciates the many agencies involved in the successful investigation, capture, and prosecution of these dangerous individuals,” stated Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit https://www.justice.gov/psc.

This case was investigated jointly by Homeland Security Investigations, the Washington State Patrol, and Spokane Police Department, as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Ann T. Wick and Laurel J. Holland.

China Focus: China builds satellite constellations to enable smart connectivity from space

With four new satellites launched this month to expand the Tianqi constellation, China is accelerating a presence in low-Earth orbit to support its surging demand for smart device connectivity.

Following SpaceX’s lead, an increasing number of Chinese aerospace firms have begun constructing Starlink-style satellite networks over the past years. Some of these commercial space firms are specifically targeting the development of critical digital infrastructure for IoT (Internet of Things) connectivity.

Tianqi, a satellite constellation developed and operated by GuoDianGaoKe Technology, has now reached its first phase with 37 satellites in orbit, forming a global network that provides services for smart cities, marine monitoring, emergency communications and environmental monitoring.

Upon the deployment of these four satellites, the constellation’s revisit time will be shortened to just five minutes, representing a 37.5 percent enhancement in its operational efficiency, which is vital for facilitating real-time data transmission.

“Tianqi has filled a technological gap in China’s low-orbit IoT satellite field. Its technical systems, performance and terminal indicators have reached internationally leading levels,” said Lyu Qiang, chairman of the Beijing-based firm.

Tianqi is now exploring the expansion into consumer markets, including smartphones, smart vehicles and wearable devices. The company plans to design and launch additional satellites in its second phase, aimed at enhancing consumer-level applications.

    CAR CONNECTIVITY

Another commercial satellite constellation project, funded by a leading Chinese automaker, is set to revolutionize intelligent connectivity for road vehicles from space.

Geely’s Future Mobility Constellation, developed by commercial space subsidiary Geespace, has placed 30 satellites across three orbital planes. The constellation expanded last September with the launch of an additional 10 satellites.

This deployment enables 90 percent global coverage, making it the first Chinese commercial space enterprise to offer low-orbit satellite communication services to international users.

The constellation is focusing on scenarios in intelligent driving, smart mobility and consumer electronics, said Wang Yang, founder and CEO of Geespace.

It has a three-phase plan: 72 satellites for global real-time data communication in Phase One, 264 satellites for direct smartphone connectivity in Phase Two, and 5,676 satellites for global broadband services in Phase Three, according to Wang.

Supported by the constellation, some Geely’s Zeekr and Galaxy electric vehicles now feature space communication. Users can send and receive messages via satellite when ground networks are disrupted.

In June last year, Geely’s satellite constellation initiated international commercial operations in parts of the Middle East, and it plans to extend services to North Africa by 2025. This expansion marked a milestone for Chinese commercial space firms on the international stage.

Industry analysts note that satellite networks are particularly valuable for autonomous driving applications, as they provide reliable connectivity in areas where traditional networks are unavailable.

According to Grand View Research, the global autonomous driving market is projected to reach 557 billion U.S. dollars by 2030. The Chinese satellite constellation is positioning itself to capture a significant market share by partnering with multiple car manufacturers.

Geespace has established a state-of-the-art factory in Taizhou, a city in eastern China, leveraging modular design and intelligent manufacturing technologies. This facility is engineered to cut production costs by 45 percent and can produce 1 to 2 satellites per day, with an annual capacity of up to 500 satellites.

Another rapidly growing economic sector in China is also creating huge opportunities for low-Earth orbit satellite internet, as the increasing number of drones relies on low-altitude intelligent networking.

China is accelerating the development of low-altitude intelligent networking infrastructure and advancing the research and construction of 5G/5G-A, Beidou navigation, and satellite internet technologies.

“Low-altitude intelligent networking, as the digital foundation for the low-altitude economy, can ensure the safe operation of low-altitude aircraft,” said Lu Feng, a researcher from a Beijing technology research institute.

    Source: Microsoft

Headline: AI in process manufacturing: From operational gains to strategic advantage

80% of manufacturers are exploring AI.1 Here’s how leaders are moving from pilots to measurable impact.

We see tremendous AI adoption across process manufacturing industries. The focus is shifting from experimenting with pilots to implementing AI in a way that delivers real business value. Leaders are now focused on how to get started and how to ensure a clear return on investment. Artificial Intelligence in Process Manufacturing: Preparing for an AI Future, a new manufacturing signals industry report published by Microsoft with research by IoT Analytics, presents insights into how manufacturers in process industries prioritize technology today and where AI fits into the picture. The report provides valuable insights for navigating the implementation of AI.

Get the Artificial Intelligence in Process Manufacturing report

AI adoption is accelerating and entering a new phase

AI is gaining real traction in process manufacturing. Building on investments in Internet of Things (IoT), automation, and advanced process controls, manufacturers are focused on how AI can drive enterprise-wide decision-making and long-term value. This shift is no longer about if AI is worth pursuing—it’s about how to start effectively and drive measurable impact. As manufacturers move from pilot programs to broader deployment, the opportunity extends beyond task-level automation. AI is enabling predictive, real-time decision making across operations, research and development (R&D), and the supply chain—unlocking value that legacy systems can’t deliver alone. From my conversations with customers, the biggest barrier to generative AI isn’t the technology, it’s getting the data right.

This next phase of AI adoption depends on strong data foundations, grounded in enterprise data and context, with clear business alignment, and an organization-wide readiness to operationalize insights. Manufacturers that get this right are already seeing the results.

AI is supporting real business priorities

AI is helping manufacturers tackle two of their top business priorities: improving operational efficiency and driving revenue growth. By reducing waste, minimizing downtime, and optimizing output, AI-powered insights enable targeted operational improvements. The same data intelligence also fuels research and development (R&D), accelerates time-to-market, and uncovers opportunities for market expansion and business differentiation. One global chemical company reported that AI helped reduce the time-to-market for molecular enhancements from six months to just six to eight weeks1—a powerful example of how operational innovation translates into business acceleration.

The signals report also explores how industrial AI drives benefits beyond cost and throughput, from better data integration to improved customer satisfaction—ultimately enabling smarter, faster decisions across the value chain.

AI use cases with measurable business impact

The signals report surfaces real-world use cases where AI is delivering measurable results—not just technical improvements, but business transformation. From reducing downtime to accelerating product development, industrial leaders are applying AI in areas such as:

    • Process optimization
    • Sustainability, energy efficiency, and waste reduction
    • Research and development
    • Predictive maintenance and analytics

Adoption is scaling fast: 80% of manufacturers surveyed are either using or planning to adopt generative AI. These solutions are driving change across every level of the organization—from frontline operations to management decision-making.

A rubber and plastics manufacturer reported significant improvements to plastic design for more efficient production. A chemical company achieved a 90% reduction in demand forecasting costs and dramatically accelerated knowledge retrieval—enabling users to access answers in seconds instead of days.1 And in the words of one life sciences organization: “Our employees have more power to support farmers, help cure diseases and see consumers healthier.”1

These examples offer a compelling view into how industrial AI is already reshaping core operations, creating value well beyond the pilot stage.

    Addressing security and complexity head-on

As more manufacturers embrace AI, leading organizations are not just navigating challenges—they’re building the strategies to overcome them. The signals report highlights two areas that require thoughtful planning: security and system complexity.

Security remains a key consideration. Nearly half of respondents say concerns around data protection—from IP theft to regulatory compliance—impact their AI adoption decisions. In industries where uptime, safety, and proprietary processes are critical, protecting sensitive data is non-negotiable.

Fortunately, security and AI aren’t mutually exclusive. Companies are investing in responsible AI practices, secure architectures, and governance models that enable innovation without compromising protection.

Complexity is the other major hurdle. Legacy systems often lack interoperability, and introducing AI may require adapting long-standing workflows. But many manufacturers are proving that modernization is possible—and that the payoff is worth it.

The signals report offers guidance on how to approach these challenges with the right foundation, so AI becomes a source of advantage, not friction.

    Laying the foundation

Successful AI adoption requires a strong governance framework—it’s not about experimenting endlessly with every possible AI use case but rather focusing on the most strategic use cases that will deliver business value. Building this framework requires the right foundation to scale impact over time. Leading manufacturers are taking a structured approach: aligning AI investments to business goals, modernizing infrastructure, and investing in the skills needed to sustain innovation.

The signals report outlines four practical steps manufacturers are taking to move from isolated pilots to enterprise-wide transformation:

    • Identify business needs
    • Embrace structural flexibility
    • Get the data in order
    • Use AI to develop workforce capabilities

These are more than recommendations—they reflect what real manufacturers are doing to turn AI into a competitive advantage. And for many, AI is no longer optional, but essential to unlocking the next wave of efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness. The signals report brings each step to life with examples from the field.

  • MIL-OSI Economics: One Year In: How the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo Is Changing the Way People Do Laundry

    Source: Samsung

Since debuting in February 2024, Samsung Electronics’ Bespoke AI Laundry Combo1 has sold more than 100,000 units in Korea and won 21 major awards,2 building a strong presence in the all-in-one washer-dryer market.

Designed to boost convenience and make smarter use of time and space, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo is reshaping daily life. Samsung Newsroom took an inside look at how that transformation is taking place and why.

Wash and Dry in One Go — A Simpler Routine for Better Living
According to a Samsung survey3 of 206 buyers in Korea who purchased all-in-one washer-dryers released in 2024, respondents cited the following top reasons for their purchase — no laundry transfer needed (23%), saving space (21%), single installation for both washing and drying (12%), and one-step operation from wash to dry (11%).

As laundry becomes simpler and more convenient, how and when people do it is evolving. Compared to before purchasing all-in-one models, people are washing their clothes more frequently. Dual-income households, in particular, are increasingly doing their laundry on weeknights after work.

As washing and drying are completed in a single automated cycle, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo allows users to simply load their clothes, press start and walk away. There’s no need to wait around or manually move wet clothes to a separate dryer. Furthermore, the Auto Open Door feature even opens the door automatically once drying is complete, releasing moisture quickly and enhancing hygiene and convenience.

Simple Setup, Smarter Use of Space and AI-Optimized Cycles
The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo also offers improved space efficiency and greater flexibility in installation. Unlike conventional setups that require separate space for both washer and dryer units, the all-in-one unit reduces spatial demand by around 40%,4 with no need to stack two machines or place them side-by-side. Its lower height also allows for extra shelving in laundry or utility rooms.

▲ The Bespoke AI Laundry Combo reduces spatial demand by around 40% compared to conventional washer and dryer setups.

In addition, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo’s AI-powered features significantly boost efficiency. AI Wash & Dry5 automatically selects the best wash and dry settings based on weight, fabric type and soil level, removing the need for manual configuration.

In the survey, customers in Korea expressed high satisfaction6 with features like the Flex Auto Dispense System7 (91%) and AI Energy Mode8 (89%). The Flex Auto Dispense System adjusts the detergent amount to suit the load of laundry when detergent is pre-filled in the compartment, reducing maintenance hassle and preventing overuse or underuse of detergent, which is a common issue with conventional washing machines.

Energy efficiency has also improved, as the 2025 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo consumes 45% less electricity per kilogram than the minimum required for top-rated front-load washers in Korea.9 With AI Energy Mode, users can reduce energy consumption by up to 60% without compromising performance.10

Samsung continues to drive the popularization of all-in-one washer-dryers by introducing products with industry-leading drying capacity.11 The 2025 Bespoke AI Laundry Combo increases capacity by 3kg to a total of 18kg, while reducing drying time by 20 minutes to complete a full wash-and-dry cycle in as little as 79 minutes.12

“We are committed to introducing more products like the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo that bring meaningful changes to users’ daily lives,” said Jong-Hun Sung, Vice President and Head of Clothing Care R&D Group at Digital Appliances (DA) Business, Samsung Electronics. “With our innovative technology and focus on personalized user experiences, we aim to open a new chapter in home appliances.”

As laundry becomes an increasingly seamless experience, Samsung will continue to enable a smarter, more convenient way of living, one cycle at a time.

  • MIL-OSI USA: Fresno Man Pleads Guilty to Multiple Child Exploitation Offenses

Source: US State of North Dakota

A California man pleaded guilty today to sexual exploitation of children and distribution and receipt of child pornography.

According to court documents, Monico Erich Gastelo, 43, of Fresno, sexually exploited children using different methods. For example, in January 2019, Gastelo created a social media account where he claimed to be an 18-year-old boy. Gastelo then used the account to converse with at least one minor and request sexually explicit content from them.

“Today’s plea should serve as a reminder of the Justice Department’s commitment to securing justice for victims of online child sexual exploitation,” said Matthew R. Galeotti, Head of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “I am grateful for the efforts of the investigators and prosecutors who continue to work tirelessly to investigate and prosecute those who harm children.”

“Not only did this defendant revictimize abused children depicted in the images, but attempted to victimize actual children within his orbit,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith for the Eastern District of California. “The U.S. Attorney’s Office will continue to prioritize the prosecution of child sexual predators.”

“Today’s guilty plea represents our agents’ and analysts’ continued focus on targeting predators who exploit children online,” said Special Agent in Charge Tatum King of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) San Francisco. “Through collaboration with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Fresno Police Department and the Central Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, we will make every effort to identify, locate, and arrest these criminals to help prevent the harm that they cause to our children. We appreciate the prosecutorial work by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California and the Justice Department’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) in furtherance of this investigation.”

Between Jan. 1, 2020, and March 23, 2020, Gastelo communicated with other individuals who were sexually attracted to children on Wickr, Snapchat, and Telegram. He sent and received multiple images and videos of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on these platforms. Forensic review of Gastelo’s phones showed that he had over 1,500 images and videos of suspected CSAM.

Gastelo’s conduct escalated in May of 2020. A minor victim reported to law enforcement that he had been sexually exploited online and that an individual, who was later identified to be Gastelo, had added him on Snapchat. Gastelo sent over a dozen images of his penis to the minor victim and insisted that the minor victim send back CSAM of himself.

Gastelo pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of children and one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 8, 2025 and faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison up to 30 years in prison on the sexual exploitation count and a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison up to 20 years in prison on the distribution and receipt count. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The Fresno County Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security investigated the case.

Trial Attorney McKenzie Hightower of CEOS and Assistant U.S. Attorney David Gappa for the Eastern District of California are prosecuting the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. • MIL-OSI USA: Rep. Dan Goldman Leads Bipartisan Effort to Protect Federal Judges From Doxxing and Threats

Source: US Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10)

Bipartisan Appropriations Letter Urges Congress to Fund Grant to Scrub Judges’ Personal Information from the Internet

Threats Against Judges Have Risen Over 100% in the Last 6 Weeks, Coinciding with Harsh Rhetoric from Trump Administration

    Read the Letter Here

Washington, D.C – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) and Congresswoman Mikie Sherill (NJ-11) led a bipartisan group of 39 of their colleagues in writing to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science Chairman Hal Rogers (KY-05) and Ranking Member Grace Meng (NY-06) requesting that they provide $10 million for a program within the bipartisan Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act of 2022 for state and local governments to remove the personal information of federal judges and their families from the internet, such as property tax records that would list addresses.

“As Donald Trump has escalated his attacks on federal judges, their safety and security are increasingly at risk. If judges alter their decisions out of fear for the safety of themselves and their families, then we no longer live under the rule of law,” Congressman Dan Goldman said. In order to enhance the security of federal judges, it is vital for Congress to fund this essential grant program and ensure that sensitive personal information, including home addresses, financial records, and details about family members, is kept private.”

Between 2015 and 2021, threats against federal judges rose by more than 450%, from 926 incidents in 2015 to 4,511 in 2021. The Trump administration’s recent rhetoric against individual judges who have rendered unfavorable rulings has only supercharged that trend, with threats against judges rising over 100% in the last six weeks alone.

“Time is of the essence in implementing the Anderl Act’s protections for our federal judges and their families, as members of the Federal judiciary have been exposed to an increased number of personal threats in connection to their role,” the Members wrote.

Named after Daniel Anderl—the son of a federal judge who was murdered by a disgruntled attorney who obtained the judge’s home address online—the law’s provisions authorizing anti-doxxing grants for state and local governments have never been funded.

“The importance of the Anderl Act to our federal judiciary and to our federal legal system cannot be overstated. It is critical that Congress take action to protect all our public servants on the federal bench and prevent this type of violence and threats in the future. Our judiciary, and by extension, our democracy, cannot continue to bear this burden alone,” the Members concluded.

Read the letter here or below:

Dear Chair Rogers and Ranking Member Meng:

As you begin consideration of the Fiscal Year 2026 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, we ask that within the accounts funding the Department of Justice State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance account, you provide $10 million for the state and local government grant program authorized in Section 5934(c) of the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act of 2022 (Public Law 117-263).

This program permits the Attorney General to make grants to States or units of local governments so they can remove personal information about federal judges and their families from their websites, such as property tax records that would list federal judges’ addresses.

Time is of the essence in implementing the Anderl Act’s protections for our federal judges and their families, as members of the Federal judiciary have been exposed to an increased number of personal threats in connection to their role.  Testifying before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and the Federal Government in February of this year, U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald Davis said that threats against federal judges have doubled in the past 3 years. In fact, from 2015 to 2021, threats against federal court personnel jumped more than 450 percent, from 926 incidents recorded in 2015 to 4,511 incidents in 2021.

Among the incidents demonstrating the unfortunate urgency of these measures is the 2020 murder of Daniel Anderl, for whom the legislation was named. The 20-year-old son of New Jersey District Judge Esther Salas, Daniel was shot and killed at home by a disgruntled lawyer who found the judge’s address on the internet and also critically wounded Judge Salas’ husband.

After Judge James Robart’s 2017 decision to block former President Trump’s travel ban, critics posted the judge’s home phone and address online. Judge Robart received 40,000 messages, 1,100 of which were serious enough to be investigated, and so many death threats that U.S. marshals set up camp around his house. Additionally, in 2022, a California man was indicted for attempting to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. An FBI affidavit stated that the would-be assassin found Justice Kavanaugh’s address online.

In his annual year-end report in December, Chief Justice Roberts warned about the rising number of threats to the judiciary’s independence, including calls for violence against judges and “dangerous” suggestions by elected officials to disregard court rulings they disagree with. This warning was followed by another by the U.S. Marshals to federal judges indicating an “unusually high threat level” in March. The importance of the Anderl Act to our federal judiciary and to our federal legal system cannot be overstated. It is critical that Congress take action to protect all our public servants on the federal bench and prevent this type of violence and threats in the future. Our judiciary, and by extension, our democracy, cannot continue to bear this burden alone.

Thank you for your consideration of this important request.

Home Newsroom AG Labrador Announces 25 Year Sentence for Burley Man in Child Pornography Case

BOISE — Attorney General Raúl Labrador has announced that Tyrell Howell, 28, was convicted of two (2) counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child by Distributing Sexually Exploitative Material (Child Pornography). The Distribution of Sexually Exploitative Material is a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison. Howell was sentenced on May 19, 2025, by Cassia County District Judge Blaine P. Cannon. “There is no place in Idaho for those who trade in the vile exploitation of children,” said Attorney General Labrador. “This sentence reflects the seriousness of the crime and the commitment of my office to protect Idaho’s most vulnerable. I am grateful for the collaborative efforts of our Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and local law enforcement in bringing this predator to justice. We will continue to pursue those who prey on children with the full weight of the law.” In approximately September of 2024, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit received a CyberTip that an online account, later identified as belonging to Howell, was being used on multiple occasions in June and July of 2024 to exchange Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM), also known as Child Pornography, with other online users. Detective Sam Kuoha was able to obtain account information from the electronic service provider (ESP), which identified Howell as the account’s owner. Based on the information obtained from the ESP, Detective Kuoha was able to identify two (2) other CyberTips associated with Howell’s information from 2020 and 2022. After obtaining search warrants, officers searched Howell’s home and digital devices. Forensic examiners from the Office of the Attorney General were able to locate multiple files of CSAM and chat logs showing the exchange of CSAM with other individuals through online platforms. Many of these files depicted minor children, predominantly prepubescent females, as young as approximately two (2) years of age, and some of these files depicted children engaged in violent sex acts with adults. Judge Cannon sentenced Howell to a total of twenty-five (25) years in prison. Howell will be eligible for parole after five (5) years. Howell will have to register as a sex offender pursuant to Idaho law.  Detective Sam Kuoha with Rupert Police Department, who serves as an ICAC affiliate in the Attorney General’s ICAC Unit, led the investigation. Detective Kuoha and the Rupert Police Department were assisted by the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cassia County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General James Haws.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Former Coach and Child Predator Sentenced for Sexual Crimes Against Three Minor Children

Source: Office of United States Attorneys

TULSA, Okla. – Today, U.S. District Judge Sara E. Hill sentenced Brandon Earl Presley, 30, of Bixby, for two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in Indian Country, two counts of Abusive Sexual Contact with a Minor in Indian Country,  and one count each of Production of Child Pornography, and Possession of Child Pornography. Judge Hill ordered Presley to serve 264 months imprisonment, followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Upon his release, Presley will also be required to register as a sex offender.

“Presley is a child predator who used his position as a coach to groom and seek out minor children through social media. His actions were undetected until someone had the courage to report him,” said U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson. “I want to encourage parents and teens to learn about the dangers of social media.”

Law enforcement began investigating a tip that Presley had sex with a 14-year-old on a college campus during a high school track meet. The tip included a photo of Presley from social media and described how Presley would often hang out in his car or help at high school track practice or meets.

While investigating the tip, law enforcement discovered a photo Presley took while sexually abusing an unknown minor child. Law enforcement found the location of the minor child and discovered that the child was only 13 years old. Presley chatted with the minor child through social media. When the minor child was at home alone, Presley showed the minor child pornography for “education,” coerced the minor child to engage in sexual activity, and photographed it. Court records show that Presley admitted to sexually abusing the minor child, taking a photo of the sexual abuse, and keeping the photo.

During the investigation, law enforcement discovered that Presley had other minor victims.

In the summer of 2022, Presley found another 13-year-old minor victim online through social media. He lied to the minor victim, stating he was 18 years old. Presley attempted to coerce the minor child to engage in sexually explicit activity. Court records show that Presley admitted to abusive sexual contact with the minor child.

Presley further admitted to abusive sexual contact and sexual abuse of a 15-year-old minor victim in 2019, which led to his termination as an assistant football coach. He approached the minor at school, groomed and coerced her using social media. When Presley convinced the minor child to meet, he showed her a video of himself engaging in sexual activity to “teach” the minor. He repeatedly told the minor not to tell anyone.

Presley is a citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation and will remain in custody pending transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

Homeland Security Investigations, the Bixby Police Department, the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Norman Police Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kate Brandon, Alicia Hockenbury, and Elliot Anderson prosecuted the case.

• MIL-OSI Security: Recidivist Sex Offender Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison on Attempted Enticement, Child Pornography Charges

    Source: US FBI

PROVIDENCE – A recidivist sex offender has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for attempting to entice a minor and attempting to transfer obscene material to two minor boys, announced Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom.

Nicholas Sannicandro, 35, of Warwick, was sentenced today by U.S. District Court Judge Mary S. McElroy, to 360 months of incarceration to be followed by a term of 15 years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty on May 8. 2024, to two counts of attempted inducement of a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity, two counts of attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor, one count of possession and access with intent to view child pornography, and one count of commission of an offense by a registered sex offender.

“The lengthy sentenced imposed today ensures that this defendant will not be able to continue his abhorrent conduct of victimizing children,” commented Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom. “This office and our law enforcement partners are committed to working together so that individuals who victimize children are held to account and that resources are available to those they harm.”

“Simply put, Nicholas Sannicandro is a predator,” said Kimberly Milka, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division. “This repeat sex offender admitted to devising a twisted scheme to lure children into his clutches so he could sexually abuse and exploit them. Today’s sentence ensures he’ll stay locked up where he can’t victimize anyone else for a good long time. The FBI is committed to finding predators like him and bringing them to justice while also ensuring those they’ve victimized are safe and well-supported.”

Sannicandro previously admitted to a federal judge that beginning in January 2021, he began separate communications with the two minor boys in Florida whom he met through an Instagram account. The communications turned sexually explicit, and Sannicandro requested that the boys send him sexually explicit videos of themselves.

Sannicandro attempted to arrange a meeting with someone whom he believed to be one of the boys, proposing that they engage in illicit sexual activity. The communications were, in fact, with an undercover law enforcement officer who had taken over the boy’s account. In those communications, Sannicandro invited the boy to visit him in Rhode Island, discussed sexual acts that Sannicandro wanted to engage in with the boy, and sent videos of himself engaged in sexual activity.

Sannicandro was arrested in Warwick on June 22, 2021, where he was expecting to meet with the boy. A cell phone seized from Sannicandro was found to contain images and videos of child sexual abuse material.

Court records document that Sannicandro was convicted on three previous occasions in matters involving child sexual abuse material and attempted dissemination of obscene material to minors. He was a registered sex offender at the time of his arrest in June 2021.

This most recent case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Denise M. Barton and John P. McAdams.

The matter was investigated by the FBI and North Port, FL, Police Department, with significant assistance from members of the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the Warwick Police Department for their assistance in the arrest of Sannicandro.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. • MIL-OSI Security: Claremore Man Convicted of Sexually Abusing a Minor and Abusive Sexual Contact of Two Minors

    Source: US FBI

TULSA, Okla. – A federal jury yesterday convicted Ryan Duke Haight, 45, of Sexual Abuse of a Minor in Indian Country and two counts of Abusive Sexual Contact with a Minor in Indian Country, announced U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.

At trial, the jury heard the testimony of the two minor victims, who were 14 and 15 years old at the time of the offenses, as well as other individuals. According to evidence presented at trial, Haight began making sexual comments to the 14-year-old victim in the summer of 2023. Haight also began touching the minor victim on the buttocks, claiming it was an accident, and played with the seam of her panties. He even told the victim that he preferred “butts” over “boobs,” which was why he liked the victim. In the spring of 2024, Haight’s physical contact escalated. On multiple occasions, while driving the victim home, Haight rested his hand on the victim’s leg and touched her underneath her clothing. Then in July 2024, Haight told the victim he wanted to give her a massage as his “prize” for winning a bet. While massaging the victim, Haight sexually abused her.

Also in July 2024, Haight sought out the second victim at a Fourth of July party at his home. The second victim was 15 years old. During the party, Haight reached under the victim’s clothing to touch her bra strap and purposefully touched the minor’s buttocks. He later called her a “vagina” for being scared of a spider. When Haight testified, he admitted that he called the second victim a “gina,” and claimed that the term was a “buzz word the teens were saying,” that meant vagina, and he was trying to fit in with the teenagers. Haight also told the second victim that she “owed him” because he removed the spider for her.

While awaiting trial, Haight was allowed to remain on bond. After the guilty verdict was returned, Haight was taken into custody, where he will await sentencing, which will be scheduled for a later date.

The FBI and the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephen Scaife and Kate Brandon prosecuted the case.

Mason Benoist, age 24, was sentenced to six years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.

Benoist was indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2024. He pleaded guilty on February 5, 2025.

The conviction stems from Benoist receiving and possessing child pornography using his mobile phone in April 2022. • MIL-OSI: Rapsodo Elevates Its Golf Performance Tracking with Introduction of Two New Club Data Metrics on the MLM2PRO

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

ST. LOUIS, May 28, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Rapsodo, a leading sports data and performance technology company, has added two new key club data metrics, club path and angle of attack, to its award-winning mobile launch monitor, the Rapsodo MLM2PRO. The additions bring the total number of key golf metrics available through the Rapsodo MLM2PRO to 15 for users with an MLM2PRO premium membership. The additions complement Club Head Speed and Smash Factor to round out the best performance indicators to help any golfer understand and improve their swing for shot accuracy, consistency and distance.

Club path measures the direction the club head moves at the moment of impact relative to the target line. Having a positive club path indicates that the club head is moving from the inside to the outside of the target line. Conversely, a negative value indicates movement to the left, outside to inside. Avoiding the extremes and maintaining a more neutral club path is optimal for improved accuracy and increased distance.

Angle of Attack refers to the vertical direction the club head moves at impact. The angle can be positive or negative and is key to optimizing distance and trajectory. For example, a driver performs best in an upward motion, or positive angle of attack, because it optimizes ball launch, reduces spin and increases the total carry, allowing for a higher, more controlled ball flight for distance. Irons are typically optimized with a downward strike, or negative angle of attack. The downward strike with an iron is key for controlling spin and trajectory, helping the ball land solidly on the green instead of bouncing off to the sand.

The addition of the new metrics continues to prove Rapsodo’s commitment to innovating its products and delivering unparalleled performance. Golfers of all skill levels can enjoy top-tier, instant, detailed feedback at their fingertips to help lower their scores. The all-in-one device also offers access to 30,000 simulated courses, providing professional-grade, multi-dimensional views of golf courses worldwide, to practice anywhere, anytime.

“These new key golf metrics not only expand the performance of club data available to our users, but they also reinforce our promise to continually innovate and deliver more value through the MLM2PRO Premium Membership platform,” said Pete Gibbons, director of golf at Rapsodo. “Using the MLM2PRO to perfect one’s swing can help even the most novice of golfers shave off three to four bad shots a round, which could be the difference between breaking 100 for the first time. For experienced golfers, perfecting these metrics could take their game into the upper 4% of all golfers, breaking 80.”

All MLM2PRO ($699.99) devices include a free 45-day trial of the MLM2PRO Premium Membership. The annual membership is $199, and a lifetime membership is $499. The new metrics will be delivered to existing users through a firmware and app update.

  • MIL-OSI Africa: Tackling human trafficking

    Source: South Africa News Agency

Gone are the days when human trafficking felt like an obscure crime that occurs under the cover of night in far off places we have never heard of.

Every so often we hear of suspected human trafficking cases, and it is likely that you and I could have already interacted with a trafficked person(s) without even knowing it.

This as police rescued 44 illegal immigrants who were found locked in a house in Gauteng’s Parkmore suburb recently.

It was also reported in March that over 30 Ethiopian nationals were able to escape from a house in Johannesburg’s Lombardy East. In that case, it is suspected that the 30 were victims of a human trafficking syndicate.

In January, over 20 Ethiopians were rescued from a house in Johannesburg. The rescue followed a similar one in August 2024 where 82 Ethiopians were also found at a house in Johannesburg.

Additionally, human trafficking does not only take place on home soil. In March, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) confirmed that 23 South Africans who were part of a group of 7000 people from various countries, were rescued from Myanmar.

Before leaving South African shores in 2024, the men and women were lured by an employment agency to Thailand under the pretences of lucrative jobs that were advertised on various social media platforms.
According to DIRCO, the adverts promised the victims good salaries, free accommodation, comprehensive travel expenses, and other lucrative benefits. However, once in Thailand, they were transported to Myanmar against their will.

They were held captive for more than four months in a cybercrime compound in Myanmar, which borders Thailand.

“The crime of human trafficking is a hidden one. It is a very different one in the sense that you are given promises of a better life through whatever means elsewhere. You wilfully participate in those engagements without knowing that as soon as you arrive at your destination, what you have been promised is no longer there,” said Deputy Director-General (DDG) Lucky Mohalaba.

Mohalaba is the DDG for Court Administration at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DOJ&CD).

“The courts are currently dealing with those matters [of human trafficking] and it ranges from sexual exploitation to forced labour,” he said in an interview with SAnews.

    Legislation

He added that there are other forms of crimes in relation to the “Trafficking in Persons Act which may include harbouring, transporting [and] assisting in whatever form that those who have been trafficked are able to be moved around within our borders.”

This as the objects of South Africa’s Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act 2013, among others, are to give effect to the country’s obligations concerning the trafficking of persons in terms of international agreements and to provide for the prevention of trafficking in persons and for the protection of and assistance to victims of trafficking, among others.

According to the legislation, any person who delivers, recruits, transports, transfers, harbours, sells, exchanges, leases or receives another person within or across the borders of the Republic, by means of the threat of harm, abduction and kidnapping among others, for the purpose of any form or manner of exploitation, is guilty of the offence of trafficking in persons.

It also states that any person who adopts a child, facilitated or secured through legal or illegal means; or concludes a forced marriage with another person, within or across the borders of the Republic, for exploitation purposes of that child or other person in any form, is guilty of an offence.

A person convicted of an offence of trafficking (by delivering, recruiting, transporting transferring harbouring and selling among others another person by means of a threat of harm, fraud and kidnapping among others, is liable to a fine not exceeding R100 million or imprisonment, including imprisonment for life, or such imprisonment without the option of a fine or both.

According to the National Prosecuting Agency, the passing of the trafficking legislation is a result of South Africa’s ratification of the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children.

Additionally, the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC) said the protocol -which was adopted by the United Nations in November 2000 – is the world’s primary legal instrument to combat human trafficking.

Mohalaba stressed that government is tackling human trafficking.

“What we can say to the public is that government is doing quite a lot of work in relation to this matter. But working together with civil society as well as communities, as a department we are of the view that we can do a lot to further curb instances and the incidence of trafficking in persons in South Africa,” he said from his office at the DOJ&CD.

    Increased effort

There is tangible evidence that the work government is doing in this area is paying off with the county having moved to a better spot on the United States of America’s (USA) annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report.

In 2024, South Africa moved from Tier 2 Watch List of the report to Tier 2.

Released in June last year, the report, which is available on the US Department of State website among others, notes that while South Africa does not “fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking… [it] is making significant efforts to do so.”

“The government demonstrated overall increasing efforts compared with the previous reporting period; therefore South Africa was upgraded to Tier 2. These efforts included increasing prosecutions of traffickers; identifying and referring more trafficking victims to protection services; and increasing the number of shelters available to assist trafficking victims,” the report stated.

It also took note of government’s National Inter-Ministerial Committee for Trafficking in Persons (NICTIP) to strengthen anti-trafficking efforts which included the Border Management Authority, the Anti-Money Laundering Integrated Task Team and the Financial Intelligence Center.

He said that work done includes ensuring that there is domestic legislation in place that deals with trafficking in persons and that the country has in place mechanisms to identify, assess victims or suspected victims of trafficking and ensuring that there are shelters to accommodate victims while court processes continue.

“As a result of our responses, we moved to Tier 2 as these are some of the issues the country has addressed. Of course, our aim is to ensure that we move a level higher up which will include putting more effort into ensuring that there’s appropriate training for officials that are dealing with these matters.  We are working on this,” he explained.

According to the TIP, the placement of countries into various tiers is not based on the size of a country’s problem “but on the extent of government efforts to meet the Trafficking Victims Protection Act’s (TVPA) minimum standards for the elimination of human trafficking.”

These standards include the prohibition of severe forms of trafficking in person and punishing acts of such trafficking.
Tier 2 Watch List countries are those whose governments don’t fully meet the TVPA’s minimum standards but are making moves to “bring themselves into compliance” with the standards.

Tier 2 countries are those whose governments do not fully meet the minimum standards but are making significant efforts to bring themselves into compliance. Additionally, Tier 1 countries are those in which governments fully meet the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking.

The TIP also has Tier 3 countries whereby governments do not fully meet the minimum standards and are not making significant efforts to do so.

Mohalaba added that the NICTIP which the department and the NPA are co-chairing, is “seized with coordinating a lot of efforts around the trafficking in persons across the country.”

“It also includes NGOs [non-government organisations] who take part in the discussions so that all of us working together are able to move our country forward and prevent this scourge in trafficking of persons.”

The report however flagged several issues including that law enforcement did not have the capacity and training to refer victims of trafficking to care and that victim services remained insufficient among others.

The report states that over “180 countries have ratified or acceded to the United Nations (UN) Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons (the UN TIP Protocol), which defines trafficking in persons and contains obligations to prevent and combat the crime.”

    Collaboration

South Africa’s Parliament passed the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons, 2013 Act which came into operation in August 2015.

“Again, we must appreciate the collaboration amongst the law enforcement agencies and particularly communities and civil society to ensure that these serious matters are addressed.

The act requires the DOJ&CD to develop the draft National and Policy Framework (NPF) which also requires the Minister of Justice to table the approved NPF in Parliament within one year after the commencement of the Act.

Added to that, the NFP is to be reviewed within three years after its publication in the government gazette and at least once every five years thereafter. The first NPF was approved by the Justice Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) cluster in 2019 with the revised one having been approved by Cabinet in August 2023. It was tabled in Parliament in February 2024.

The framework comprises four pillars – namely: prevention, protection, prosecution and partnerships.

“Trafficking is an international crime, and States have been encouraged to put in laws that deal with this. We are using the NFP to compliment the legislation working together with civil society to make sure that we combat and deal with issues of trafficking in persons,” said the DDG.

The NPF states that trafficking in persons is a “serious crime and a grave violation of human rights posing a serious challenge to communities and to society at large.”

In the document, government states that it is committed to preventing trafficking, as well as to assist and protect victims and to prosecute perpetrators.

“People go to great lengths to ensure that when people are trafficked, that it falls within the ambit of organised crime. We really want to appeal to the public that we should be vigilant when we see instances of people being trafficked in our villages, townships, in towns or any other areas we see the potential of people being trafficked,” said the DDG.

He added that the review of the policy framework will be made in 2027.

“As a country, we remain resolute in working with whichever country across the globe to ensure that the issues of trafficking in persons are actually made a priority across the world.” –SAnews.gov.za

  • MIL-OSI: MEXC Futures Grid Bot Sets Traders on Fast-Track to Yields Under Multiple Market Conditions

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

VICTORIA, Seychelles, May 28, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — MEXC, a leading global cryptocurrency exchange, has taken center stage on the crypto market with the release of the Futures Grid Bot on May 21, 2025. The new product provides users with a host of advantages and is unique as a market offering with an entry threshold as low as 10 USDT and high leverage rates for improved capital efficiency.

The MEXC Futures Grid Bot is an advanced trading instrument that opens up entirely new opportunities for traders in terms of leveraging available assets via innovative approaches. The principle of grid trading relies on applying a fully automated strategy that lets traders set multiple equidistant buy and sell orders within a predetermined price range. The given method allows traders to generate profits based on any market sentiment and at lowered risks.

Traders who rely on the Futures Grid Bot yield profits by taking advantage of market-induced price fluctuations. This lets traders use the Futures Grid Bot to generate profits, regardless of bull or bear markets.

MEXC designed the Futures Grid Bot with a number of distinct advantages, which make it highly attractive to a wide range of trader audiences. Apart from the low entry threshold, the bot grants high leverage rations, uninterrupted operation, and low transaction fees.

Among the potential users of the bot are short-sell traders, giving them effective risk dispersal in case of market falls. Leveraged traders and those seeking risk mitigation can also benefit from the Futures Grid Bot, as it can help them distribute dense orders. The automated nature of the bot makes it ideal for full-time traders, freeing them from monitoring their trades nonstop. Novice traders will find the Futures Grid Bot an excellent stepping stone into their trading careers, considering its low 10 USDT entry threshold and that the instrument automatically adjusts its parameters to suit their modes.

The workflow of the Futures Grid Bot has been intentionally simplified and streamlined to ensure that both novice and professional traders can use its interface with minimal navigation. In order to initiate their first trade with the Futures Grid Bot, users must first determine the price range of their orders within the price range that suits their requirements. The next step is setting the trade intervals into an equidistant grid and placing buy and sell orders within each grid cell. Futures Grid Bot takes over as the final step, launching automated buy-low and sell-high orders.

The MEXC exchange is confident that the Futures Grid Bot will prove to be a valuable addition to the platform’s ever-expanding range of products. The functionality of the bot and its ability to allow traders to generate positive yields under different market conditions makes it an attractive instrument for both novice and professional users, upping the exchange’s market status and audience inflow.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Since the beginning of the year, residents of the capital have paid more than nine million bills in the My Payments service

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

Every year, residents of the capital increasingly use the My Payments service on mos.ru and in city mobile applications. In the capital Department of Information Technology noted that due to the constant development of the service, its demand is growing: since the beginning of 2025 alone, city residents have paid about 9.2 million bills with its help. This is eight percent more than for the same period last year.

Most often, city residents used the service to pay bills for kindergarten and after-school programs, housing and communal services using a single payment document (SPD), electricity, home telephone and Internet, and also to top up schoolchildren’s Moskvenok cards.

“The My Payments service provides residents of the capital with the opportunity to pay for more than nine thousand services of municipal and commercial organizations using convenient payment instruments. Over seven and a half years of operation, city residents have paid more than 115 million bills using it. At the same time, the service is constantly evolving: for example, last year, an additional method of paying bills was introduced for users using the fast payment system, functions were added for viewing the balance and purchasing travel tickets for public transport, as well as receiving and paying water bills not included in the EPD. Already this year, the service has new options for convenient payment for travel on the M-12, Central Ring Road and Western High-Speed Diameter highways, as well as setting up notifications about the issuance of new bills from the EPD for non-residential premises. For users of the service, these are additional opportunities to promptly receive information about the receipt of new bills and save time on paying them,” said Vladimir Novikov, Director of the Department for Support of Citywide Payment Systems of the Moscow Department of Information Technology.

    Find accounts

The My Payments service automatically finds unpaid invoices if the user has a standard or full account on the mos.ru portal, and the necessary data is filled in the personal account. The more information about the documents the user adds, the more complete the information in the service will be. If this is not enough, you can find the required account and simultaneously enter the information directly in the service. To do this, use the widgets “Documents and data”, “Account by UIN” or“TC Certificate”. To avoid missing a payment, you can set up a subscription to receive notifications aboutnew accounts. After this, information about them will be automatically sent by e-mail or as push notifications in the mobile applications “Gosuslugi Moskvy” and “My Moscow”.

Batch payment, templates and auto payments

Reducing the time it takes to pay regular advance payments will help templates. You can also use the service set up auto payment according to a schedule, an invoice or a balance threshold. And if you need to pay several invoices at once, you can use the function in the service one-time (package) payment.

The auto payment function is also available in charity service on the mos.ru portal. To set it up, after authorization and the first donation, you need to select the amount and set up a regular write-off. The charity service presents verified funds that support seriously ill children and adults, lonely people and families in difficult life situations, homeless cats and dogs, as well as environmental, scientific and educational projects and initiatives. On the project page, city residents can support any program or choose several – in this case, the donation amount will be divided equally among everyone.

Paying bills via the fast payment system

Paying bills through the fast payment system (FPS) frees city residents from the need to provide bank card details. And until January 10, 2026, when using the FPS in the My Payments service on the mos.ru portal, residents of the capital can pay bills without commission, as well as receive cashback in the amount of one percent of the payment amount (when paying for services of certain categories through the FPS). To do this, you must register in the loyalty program on the website before making a payment VAYPRETET.ru. Cashback in rubles will be automatically returned within a minute to the bank account from which the payment was made through the SBP. The promotion is carried out by the National Payment Card System – the operational payment and clearing center of the SBP. You can find out more about the organizer, terms and rules of the promotion on the website VAYPRETET.ru, as well as in the instructions on the mos.ru portal. If any questions arise, participants of the action can contact the support service of the mos.ru portal in the section “Feedback” and by calling the hotline: 7 495 539-55-55 (24-hour information and reference service for the provision of government services).

Detailed information about all the possibilities of the My Payments service can be found ininstructions.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Dunklin County Woman Sentenced for Aiding $565,000 Fraud

Source: Office of United States Attorneys

CAPE GIRARDEAU – U.S. District Judge on Tuesday sentenced a money mule to fifteen months imprisonment for moving $565,000 in stolen funds.

Sheri L. Reeves acted as a money courier or “money mule,” transferring money obtained by fraud to others. On June 9, 2020, Reeves opened an account at a Bank of America branch in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and later added the name of the fraud victim to the account. Reeves’ co-conspirators used fraudulently obtained account information to access the victim’s account and transfer a total of $565,000 to Reeves’ account. She then sent the money to others using cashier’s checks obtained in Tennessee and Arkansas and via a CoinFlip cryptocurrency ATM in Dunklin County.  She also sent her account information to others and withdrew or attempted to withdraw the proceeds in cash or by check, her plea agreement says.

Despite being warned by the FBI, Reeves continued to assist in the commission of financial crimes.

Reeves, 55, of Kennett, in Dunklin County, pleaded guilty in November in U.S. District Court in Cape Girardeau to one count of aiding and abetting bank fraud, one count of conspiracy to commit wire and mail fraud and one count of wire fraud. In addition to the sentence of fifteen months imprisonment, Reeves was ordered to pay $565,000 in restitution to the Bank of America, and to serve a term of five years supervised release upon her release from imprisonment.

The case was investigated by the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Hahn prosecuted the case.

If you believe you are participating in a money mule scheme or a victim of one, please contact the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaints Center at ic3.gov or contact your local FBI office.

There are 440 city-subordinate libraries in Moscow. Since the beginning of the year, readers have borrowed almost 3.2 million publications from them. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

“Modern Moscow libraries are comfortable multi-format spaces that attract about 10 million people annually. Visitors take books and periodicals, participate in clubs and sections, work in co-working spaces, participate in master classes and meetings with writers,” said Natalia Sergunina.

    From creative circles to festivals

Over the past few years, the capital’s library network has changed noticeably: institutions have become popular city centers for self-development and creativity. Last year, renovations were completed 13 Moscow librariesAs part of the comprehensive renovation, the premises are being put in order, modern equipment is being purchased, access to wireless Internet is being provided, and the book collections are being replenished.

More than 30 thousand events are held annually in the capital’s libraries, which attract both city residents and tourists. Everyone is invited to cultural events, festivals, concerts and performances.

Visitors of all ages are invited to join clubs and sections — vocal, literary and poetic, dance, theater, music, environmental and local history. In addition, reading rooms become part of large-scale projects. Among them are the “Biblionight” campaign and the “Red Square” book festival.

    Step-by-step digitalization

The library modernization program began in 2018. First, they were connected to a common information system. This allowed the introduction of a single library card (SLC) for all sites. In total, about 1.3 million SLCs have already been issued, 62 thousand of which have been issued since January of this year.

Another important stage in the digitalization of the library network is the launch of the “Moscow Libraries” service, where you can search for and reserve the books you need. It currently features 15 million publications. Thanks to the online platform, city residents have ordered more than 800 thousand books. Here, users can extend the shelf life of literature, get acquainted with thematic selections, and receive personal recommendations from artificial intelligence.

    History and Innovation

While becoming even more modern and attractive, libraries retain their identity and individuality.

For example, the Central City Children’s Library named after A.P. Gaidar is one of the oldest reading rooms for the younger generation in the capital. Its collection contains about 200 thousand books. The library runs the Moscow Summer Reading Program for Children and Teenagers, the Thoughtful Reader contest of reviews and comments, and publishes catalogs of recommended literature.

The Central Universal Scientific Library named after N.A. Nekrasov is the largest public city reading room in Moscow. Its collection includes more than a million publications in different languages. Play readings, thematic festivals, exhibitions and excursions are held here.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Jasper County Man Pleads Guilty to Child Sexual Exploitation

Source: Office of United States Attorneys

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A Carthage, Mo., man pleaded guilty in federal court today to charges related to the sexual exploitation of a child.

Uriah Behl, 40, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge M. Douglas Harpool, to one count of sexual exploitation of children. By pleading guilty today, Behl admitted to secretly recording a naked juvenile in the shower.

The investigation began when the Jasper County, Missouri, Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) received a call reporting that a camera had been found in a community shower room in Carthage, Mo. Witnesses found a cell phone in the cabinet under the bathroom sink, recording through a crack in the open cabinet door. Several videos were found on the phone, containing multiple victims, including a juvenile.

In a post-Miranda interview, Behl admitted to JCSO officers that he had set the phone up to record the whole room, including the shower, when motion was detected. Behl claimed that he did not intend to record the juvenile victim; however, clips from the videos focused on portions of the video depicting the juvenile victim naked, with their genitals exposed.

Behl gave JCSO officers consent to search the phone he was using to record and the cell phone he used for calls and texting. A forensic search of the phones found over an hour of videos from the shower room, several clips from those videos containing the naked juvenile victim, multiple searches for child pornography, as well as 161 images depicting child pornography downloaded from the internet.

Under federal statutes, Behl is subject to a sentence of at least 15 and up to 30 years in federal prison without parole. The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes, as the sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the court based on the advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.

Behl will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison and will be subject to federal and state sex offender registration requirements, which may apply throughout his life.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie L. Wan. It was investigated by the Jasper County, Mo., Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force.

    * Child sexual abuse material, or CSAM, is a more accurate reflection of the material involved in these heinous and abusive crimes. “Pornography” can imply the child was a consenting participant.  Globally, the term child pornography is being replaced by CSAM for this reason.
