  • MIL-OSI Europe: Written question – Public procurement: when Brussels finances a company penalised for dumping – E-002587/2025

    Source: European Parliament

    Question for written answer  E-002587/2025
    to the Commission
    Rule 144
    Virginie Joron (PfE)

In 2016, the Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty of 4 % on imports of tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron originating in India. On 22 November 2023, Ursula von der Leyen and her administration decided to impose anti-dumping duties of 16 % on Electrosteel. According to the Commission, this Indian company has a 30 % share of the water pipe market in France and benefits from export subsidies of 6 % at home[1].

The Commission found evidence that the weight of the goods had been misreported. Despite the fact that correct reporting of weights is essential to ensure that dumping margins are accurately calculated, the Commission has refused to check the previous imports for possible fraud and recover any duties not collected since 2016.

    • 1.By underreporting the weight of its pipes, the company evaded the duties it should have paid. Why has the Commission refused to carry out an investigation and recover the cost of this fraud?
    • 2.One project in Isère – funded by Brussels and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, and valued at EUR 8 million – has purchased pipes from this non-EU company[2]. Why is the Commission financing a non-EU company that has committed subsidy fraud and that it has penalised for dumping?
    • 3.Why does the Commission not prohibit, in EU public procurement, purchases of products from non-EU companies found to have engaged in dumping or fraud?

  • MIL-OSI Europe: Written question – Dispute between Türkiye and Germany on Traditional Specialities Guaranteed status for döner – E-002591/2025

    Source: European Parliament

    Question for written answer  E-002591/2025
    to the Commission
    Rule 144
    Kosma Złotowski (ECR)

In April 2024, Türkiye submitted an application to the Commission for döner to be granted Traditional Specialities Guaranteed status (TSG). If this status were to be granted, kebab would have to be prepared and served following a strictly defined Turkish recipe, among other things requiring specific marinated meats to be used.

Germany, where Turkish migrants popularised döner kebab in the 1970s, opposed the request, arguing that the dish has become integral to German culinary culture and can be found in a range of forms that reflect the country’s own diversity. The German method of preparing döner kebab has gained widespread popularity across Europe, especially in Poland where research shows that the kebab industry is worth over PLN 2.5 billion, with Poles consuming up to 5 million kebabs every day. Kebabs are now served in a variety of ways, including vegetarian versions.

The Commission gave the two parties six months to reach a compromise. However, no such understanding was reached and the Commission committed to making a decision itself as to whether or not döner kebab would be granted TSG status.

    • 1.Why has the Commission still not made a final decision in this case and when will it do so?
    • 2.If TSG status is granted to döner kebabs, will it really become obligatory to follow one specific recipe across the EU and, if so, will regional variations of the dish be recognised as their own specialities?
    • 3.What action will the Commission take if Member States object to the decision to grant TSG status?

  • MIL-OSI Europe: Answer to a written question – Turkish airlines must respect the ICAO or otherwise be banned from operating in EU airspace – E-000823/2025(ASW)

    Source: European Parliament

The Commission is aware of flights by Turkish air carriers between Ercan Airport and Türkiye even though the airport has not been designated by the Republic of Cyprus, in accordance with Article 68 of the Chicago Convention, for use for international air services.

Moreover, in the absence of an air services agreement in force between the Republic of Cyprus and Türkiye, such operations are not permitted, in accordance with Article 6 of the same Convention.

The Commission considers that in line with the 2024 Türkiye Report[1] which sets out Türkiye’s obligations on the normalisation of relations with Cyprus, Türkiye is expected to actively support negotiations on a fair, comprehensive and viable settlement of the Cyprus issue, in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions and the EU’s founding principles and acquis.

As for potential sanctions by the Commission, it should be noted that there is no agreement on air services between the EU and Türkiye. Such an agreement might allow the Commission to directly address the situation and adopt measures on such air carriers.

Air services between the Member States and Türkiye (including those operated by Turkish air carriers) are currently governed by the respective air services agreements in force between Member States and Türkiye.

Any decision on adopting restrictive measures (sanctions) under the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy is for the Council to make under Article 31 Treaty on European Union[2].

According to the Italian news agency ANSA, among the injured were 12 police officers, six firefighters and three rescue workers who arrived at the scene after the first explosion of lesser power, which was followed by repeated detonations.

Two people are in critical condition and are currently on life support, while six others have been assigned a “code red” status, the highest level of emergency medical care in the Italian health system.

An explosion rocked a petrol station on Via dei Gordiani in the Prenestino district. According to the preliminary version of the local fire service, it could have been caused by a fuel pump disconnecting from a fuel tanker. The authorities are continuing to investigate the incident. –0–

  • MIL-OSI NGOs: Sky-high protest: activists confront fossil gas in Croatia during heatwave emergency

    Source: Greenpeace Statement –

Pula, Croatia – Greenpeace Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) activists from six countries have climbed 135 meters (the height of a skyscraper) up a towering fossil gas installation platform known as a Jackup rig, to stage a protest in Pula on the Croatian Adriatic Sea. They unfurled two banners saying “Stop Gas” and “Start Future”, illustrated with solar and wind energy. Greenpeace is calling for an immediate ban on all new fossil fuel projects in the European Union and a fossil gas phase-out by 2035 through a swift, fair transition to renewable energy.

Photos and videos are available in the Greenpeace Media Library.

As a record-breaking heatwave is sweeping across Croatia and much of Europe and North Africa, activists from Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Germany and Slovenia climbed up the platform at the port of Pula before unfurling their 45-metre long banners. This action comes just days after the first legal step in the groundbreaking anti-SLAPP case to protect freedom of expression and stop abusive lawsuits initiated by Greenpeace International in the EU, after US oil company Energy Transfer’s attempt to silence the organisation.

Eszter Matyas,  Greenpeace CEE campaigner with the European Fossil-Free Future campaign said: “No matter how hard fossil fuel companies try to silence us, we will keep fighting their destructive business. Europe is the fastest-warming continent, and fossil gas is fuelling that crisis. Today, we’re taking a stand at a pivotal site: a facility used to explore and develop new gas drilling projects in the Adriatic. No matter where it comes from, fossil gas is driving us deeper into climate chaos. We have a message to EU leaders: stop greenlighting new fossil gas infrastructure. Phase out fossil gas by 2035.”

Petra Andrić, Greenpeace Croatia climate campaigner, added: “Floods, heatwaves and wildfires are sweeping the globe as the oil and gas industry drives us deeper into the climate crisis. Croatia must stop funding outdated fossil fuel infrastructure and invest in solar, wind, energy storage and energy efficiency. Every delay tightens our dependence on dirty, dangerous fuel and makes the transition more difficult and expensive. We’re fighting for a greener, fairer future with clean, sustainable energy for all. That future starts now.”

Greenpeace’s Fossil-Free Future campaign is currently on an expedition across Europe with the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise to spark debate about Europe’s energy system and question its dependence on fossil gas. Campaigners are confronting the fossil fuel industry and promoting a fair phase-out of fossil gas, through a just transition to renewable energy that allows everyone to meet their energy needs at a decent price, without harming people, the planet or the environment.[1] In March, the Arctic Sunrise was in Belgium to denounce how Europe’s reliance on fossil gas fuels geopolitical instability, while leaving households burdened with skyrocketing energy costs. Last week in Italy as the latest European heatwave began, activists protested the toxic alliance on fossil gas between US President Trump and Italy Prime Minister Meloni.

Trinidad and Tobago President Christine Kangaloo on Friday showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi while conferring the nation’s highest honour upon him.

She lauded PM Modi for his longstanding contributions, kindness, and unwavering support to the country and the wider Caribbean region.

“Your kindness and generosity to the people of Trinidad and Tobago are legendary. They have been demonstrated time and again,” she noted, recalling several acts of bilateral goodwill.

“Trinidad and Tobago is immensely glad to have been able to bestow upon you our nation’s highest honour in recognition of the tremendous work you have done with our nation over the years and for the kindness and generosity you have always shown to our country and indeed our region,” President Kangaloo said during the ceremony at the President’s House in Port of Spain.

Prime Minister Modi was conferred with ‘The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT)’ on Friday, the highest civilian award of the nation, becoming the first foreign leader ever to receive the honour. This marks the 25th international award conferred on PM Modi by a foreign country.

Smart Ways to Use a No Deposit Bonus

No deposit bonuses are one of the easiest ways to start playing online casino games in Canada. They let you try real money games without using your own money. This is great for new players who are still learning or for anyone who wants to test a casino before making a deposit.
In 2025, Spin Casino is the best online casino in Canada that offers a real, verified no deposit bonus. This makes it easier for players to get started with no pressure and no risk.
Here are some simple tips and strategies to make the most out of your no deposit bonus:
    Start with simple slot games
Most no deposit bonuses work with slot machines. It is a good idea to start with games that are easy to play. Look for games that have a high payout rate. These games usually pay out more often, even if the prize is small. That gives you more chances to keep playing and learn how everything works.
    Use all of your spins
Some casinos give you a certain number of free spins. Do not rush through them. Take your time and enjoy each spin. Try to play slowly and notice how the game works. You can also check how much each spin is worth, so you get the best value.
    Pay attention to the rules
Each bonus comes with some conditions. These are called “wagering requirements.” This means you have to play the bonus money a certain number of times before you can take out your winnings. For example, if the wagering rule is 70 times, and you win 10 dollars, you must play 700 dollars worth of bets before you can withdraw the money. It sounds like a lot, but it helps keep the bonus system fair for everyone.
    Check the time limit
Most no deposit bonuses do not last forever. Some expire in 3 days, some in 7 days. Always check how long you have before the bonus ends. Try to use it as soon as possible so you don’t miss the chance.
    Try different games
If your bonus allows, you can try different kinds of games. This could be video slots, table games like blackjack, or even live casino games. Trying different games is a smart way to find out what you like best. Some people enjoy the fast pace of slots, while others like the skill and strategy of blackjack or poker.
Do not expect to win big
No deposit bonuses are small. They are made to give you a chance to try the best online casino. If you win something, that’s great. But it is better to treat it like a free sample. If you like how the site works, you can choose to deposit later and unlock bigger bonuses.
Use it as a learning tool
This kind of bonus is also a great way to learn. You can get used to the website, try the support service, and see how fast the games load. You can also test how easy it is to find games, understand how to cash out, and check if you like the design. All of this helps you feel more confident before using your own money.
    Why it matters in Canada
In Canada, only a few of trusted online casinos offer real no deposit bonuses. Spin Casino is one of them. It gives players a simple way to try real money games without taking a risk. That’s why many people say Spin is the best online casino in Canada if you want to start safe and see what the casino has to offer before you deposit.
No deposit bonuses are not just for fun. They help you learn, test, and decide what kind of player you want to be. And they make it easy for new players in Canada to begin their online casino journey with confidence.

Top High-RTP Games at Real Money Online Casinos in Canada

Players searching for the best online casino in Canada often overlook one essential factor: the Return to Player (RTP) percentage of the games themselves. While promotional offers and platform reputation are crucial, RTP plays a significant role in maximizing real money outcomes over time. This section looks at high-RTP games available at Spin Casino, highlighting titles that are popular among Canadian players for their strong payout potential.
    High-Payout Slot Games Worth Playing
Blood Suckers, a NetEnt slot with an impressive RTP of around 98% available at Spin Casino, is a smart choice for bonus hunters seeking maximum returns during wagering. Thanks to its low volatility and high RTP, it’s often considered one of the best online slots for players clearing bonus conditions.
Other top-performing slots found at Spin Casino include titles with RTPs above 97%, offering steady returns for real money players. Games like Thunderstruck II and Immortal Romance, both available at Spin Casino, offer rich features and payout consistency, making them popular during bonus play. These titles combine exciting visuals with reliable performance, helping players meet wagering terms while enjoying the experience.

Table Games with the Highest Win Potential

While slots are the focus of many bonuses, table games such as Blackjack and Baccarat still dominate in terms of RTP. With house edges under 1 percent, these games offer effective long-term value. They are especially useful for players transitioning out of bonus play and focusing on real-money strategy. All three featured online casinos versions of these games in both virtual and live dealer formats.

    Final Tip for Bonus Efficiency

If you’re aiming to convert bonus funds into real, withdrawable cash, it’s essential to choose games that contribute 100 percent toward wagering while offering high RTP. Stick with trusted titles, avoid low-contribution games during active bonuses, and plan deposits accordingly. At over 96 percent RTP, the games listed above are reliable picks for Canadian players in 2025 looking for low-risk play on top-tier platforms.

    FAQs

Are Online Casinos in Canada Legal in 2025?

Yes, Canadian players can legally access online casinos, but the rules depend on provincial regulations. In most provinces, players can use internationally licensed online casinos without legal risk. All casinos featured in this report are licensed by recognized authorities such as the Malta Gaming Authority or the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, ensuring fair play, secure transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Which real money online casino in Canada pays out the most?

Spin Casino is considered one the best online casinos in Canada with jackpot games like Mega Moolah that pay out millions. However, JackpotCity and Spin Casino are two top online casinos known for paying out well, especially on slot games with high RTPs over 96%. While individual outcomes vary, these sites combine fast withdrawal systems, transparent terms, and a strong track record, making them reliable options for real money players in 2025.

Which online casino is the most trustworthy?

Spin Casino is one of the most established and regulated online casinos in Canada. It holds international licenses, undergo regular eCOGRA audits, and offer 128-bit SSL encryption for data security. Others provides a welcome package of up to C$1,600, allowing for deeper bonus engagement. All reviewed sites provide regulated real money gaming with strong player protections and verified withdrawal systems.
Game selection further influences bonus strategy. Most users favor slot games when bonuses are active, as table games often contribute less or not at all to wagering progress. Many delay live dealer play until their bonus is cleared to maximize effectiveness.

Final Thoughts on the Best Online Casino in Canada

As Canada’s online casino market continues to evolve in 2025, players are becoming more selective about where they play and what offers they claim. Spin Casino is one of the few trusted platforms in Canada that gives players a real no deposit bonus. This makes it a strong choice for anyone who wants to try games without putting money in first.
At the same time, some players prefer larger bonuses that come with a deposit. Spin Casino offers both options, along with a big game selection, smooth mobile access, and a strong track record for security and fair play.
The best way to find the best online casino in Canada is to look closely at the bonus terms and pick what fits your playing style. Some people like to start small with no deposit bonuses. Others go for bigger rewards. Either way, it’s smart to stick with casinos that are licensed, safe, and built for real money play.

Studying for a masters degree while caring for three children has given Chima Omojowolo the confidence to relaunch her own career after time out to raise her family.
She will graduate with an MSc in International Human Resource Management after one busy year juggling reading, coursework and assignments with school pick-ups and other family responsibilities – and now hopes to help and inspire others to grow their careers.
Chima moved to Aberdeen from France when her husband transferred to a job in the Granite City.
She decided to undertake further study to enable her to progress her own HR career following a break for motherhood and was drawn to the course because it offered a broad skill set and practical knowledge to ease her return.
Chima said: “Knowing the programme was comprehensive and flexible gave me confidence that I could update my skills while still managing my home responsibilities.
“My student journey at the University was both challenging and rewarding. Adjusting to a new environment while caring for my three children and family was difficult at first.
“However, I gradually found my stride and even excelled academically, ultimately achieving a Distinction in my degree.”
Chima loved the opportunity to collaborate with classmates on group assignments and presentations and quickly fitted into life both on campus and in Aberdeen.
“I loved exploring the city with my family – from peaceful walks along the beach to discovering restaurants and children parks, Aberdeen quickly felt like home,” she added.
“The balance of academic life and family moments in such a welcoming city made my time here truly memorable and special.”
With her degree in hand Chima now plans to resume her career in the field of human resources, specifically focusing on training and development.
She added: “I am passionate about helping employees grow, so I am aiming for a role where I can design and lead effective training programmes within an organisation. Ultimately, I hope to make a positive impact in the workplace by fostering continuous learning and development for others, just as I have done for myself.”

  • MIL-OSI Africa: Carbon Markets Africa Summit reveals packed programme featuring continent’s entire carbon markets value chain

    Source: APO

The upcoming Carbon Markets Africa Summit (CMAS) programme features the continent’s entire carbon markets value chain in what is a compelling combination of successful early carbon market movers, climate-finance-ready projects, regulatory bodies as well as global institutional development organisations and investors. The event is taking place in Johannesburg from 22 to 23 October, with pre-conference sessions on 21 October.

CMAS is dedicated to unlocking Africa’s carbon market potential, incorporating integrity, investment and impact. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) are official supporters of the event.

    Shifting global landscape
Day 1’s opening session will focus on the continent’s pivotal opportunity to define its own carbon trajectory, attract meaningful investment and align carbon market growth with the priorities of climate resilience, equity and sustainable development. Speakers already confirmed include:
    – Iain Banner, Chairman, South Africa
    – Fenella Aouane, Global Green Growth Institute, Luxembourg
    – Maxwell Gomera, UNDP
    – Javier Manzanares, Allen Manza, Panama
    – Caroline Tixier, EU Delegation to South Africa
    – Angela Churie Kallhauge, Impact, Environmental Defence Fund, USA

    Aligning strategy with global agendas
The session on the “Road to COP30: Aligning Africa’s Carbon Strategy with Global Agendas” will look compare Africa’s carbon strategy with global frameworks such as Article 6. High-level representatives from the GMEX Group, AfDBm Verra and ACMI will be part of this panel discussion.

    Carbon market frameworks
As African countries move from climate ambition to implementation, regulatory clarity is becoming the cornerstone of carbon market development. A session titled “Turning Policy into Action,” will explore how national frameworks are evolving post-COP29, what integration of Article 6 looks like on the ground and how public-private collaboration can drive effective execution. Strong representation from across the continent and value chain bodes for an enlightening discussion, including the UNDP, Government of Nigeria, the South African Department of Fisheries, Forestry and the Environment, Zambia’s Ministry of Green Economy and Environment and Uganda Climate Change Department.

The challenges with regards to integrity that carbon markets have faced will be tackled head-on during CMAS. Promethium’s Principal Climate Change Advisor Olivia Tuchten will lead the panel discussion around standards, verification and market oversight with experts from Verra, Gold Standard and Anthesis.

    Financing Africa’s carbon pipeline
Day 2 of the packed CMAS programme features investor roundtables in a more intimate setting, aimed at “Connecting Climate Capital with Scalable Carbon Solutions,” during which a select group of carbon market investors and financiers can present their funds, strategies and investment opportunities to both potential capital partners and carbon project developers.

    Keynote on investment
Day 2’s keynote session on “Financing Africa’s Carbon Pipeline: Derisking, Scaling and Innovating” will address both sides of the investment equation with participants from Shell Nature Based Solutions, Standard Bank, MIGA, AfDB and South Pole.

Jonathan First, Senior Advisor at Climate Policy Initiative will also unpack the question of how to mobilise private capital for Africa’s carbon markets with several financiers from TransEnergy Global, FSD Africa, the JSE and JP Morgan.

    Pre-conference day
The CARBON 101 masterclass will provide investors, policymakers and developers with the necessary insights into the burgeoning business of carbon markets. The expert facilitators in this relatively new field will cover everything from international frameworks, African policy landscapes, credit integrity and investment fundamentals.

    “Trust plays a key role”
As part of CMAS 2025’s mission to catalyse high-integrity, African-led carbon markets, Dominic Wilhelm, Executive Director of the Global Trust Project, will also lead a high-impact dialogue working session.

“While the current value of carbon markets as of 2023 is about $950 billion, within the next 10 years, it’s going to be worth $16 trillion,” says Wilhelm. “However, the full value chain of carbon markets is very fragmented, and it’s not transparent. Therefore, the full value chain needs to rapidly come together in a high-level dialogue, in which trust plays a key role to solve some of these challenges.”

  • MIL-OSI Russia: China and Germany should advocate multilateralism and free trade: Wang Yi

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: People’s Republic of China in Russian –

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

BERLIN, July 4 (Xinhua) — China and Germany should work together to advance multilateralism, safeguard free trade and promote open development, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said at a joint press conference with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul here on Thursday.

Wang Yi praised the 8th round of China-Germany Strategic Dialogue on Diplomacy and Security held on Thursday, calling it comprehensive, pragmatic, frank and constructive.

According to him, the talks contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and expanding common ground between the two sides.

Wang Yi noted that the parties agreed to advance a comprehensive strategic partnership guided by the principles of mutual respect, finding common ground while maintaining differences, and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Recalling that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, Wang Yi said unilateralism, protectionism and power politics pose serious challenges to the international community.

The Chinese Foreign Minister noted that under such circumstances, major countries should shoulder their responsibilities, embrace the global trend of multipolarity and economic globalization, and firmly stand on the right side of history.

China and Germany should strengthen exchanges, deepen cooperation, and jointly accomplish the following three tasks, he said.

First, strengthen the foundation of bilateral relations. Wang Yi referred to the phone conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in late May, during which they gave strategic guidance on developing bilateral ties and outlined the direction of future efforts. The two sides should implement the important consensus reached by the two leaders and prepare for the next round of high-level meetings, he added.

“China appreciates the German government’s reaffirmation of its commitment to the one-China policy and believes that Germany will support its efforts to achieve complete national reunification, just as China has unconditionally supported the reunification of Germany,” the Chinese foreign minister said, noting that achieving peace in the Taiwan Strait requires resolute opposition to any moves toward “Taiwan independence.”

Secondly, to improve the quality of bilateral cooperation. As Wang Yi emphasized, strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation is a necessity for both countries, as well as a “ballast” for bilateral relations. According to him, the parties agreed to create a more stable, predictable and reliable political basis for advancing practical cooperation.

“China and Germany have broad prospects for cooperation in cutting-edge areas such as green transition, artificial intelligence and quantum technology,” Wang Yi said. Only by strengthening ties of mutual interest and pursuing a common future can the two countries effectively address external risks and challenges, the Chinese Foreign Minister stressed.

Third, adherence to the principles of multilateralism. History has repeatedly proven that open exchanges have always been the right direction for the development and progress of mankind, Wang Yi noted. In the 21st century, there is no need to erect new barriers by introducing tariffs or provoke ideological confrontation, the diplomat warned.

“This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the EU. China looks forward to hosting important events including the China-EU summit,” Wang said, expressing hope that Germany will play an active role in the EU, promote coordination and cooperation between China and the EU, and make new contributions to global governance together with China.

Wang Yi stressed that China is willing to work with Germany to uphold the correct view of history, remain true to the original aspiration of establishing diplomatic relations, strengthen strategic ties, seek common ground while maintaining differences, and deepen practical cooperation. –0–

  • MIL-OSI Africa: Austria a ‘valued partner of South Africa’ – President Ramaphosa

    Source: Government of South Africa

President Cyril Ramaphosa has warmly welcomed Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen on his historic State Visit to South Africa.

This marks the first time an Austrian Head of State has visited the country since the dawn of democracy in 1994.

During a media briefing following officials talks between the two countries, President Ramaphosa reflected on the central-European country’s contribution to the fight against apartheid.

“Your Excellency, it’s an honour to have you here and I welcome you to South Africa. This is the first time that an Austrian Head of State has visited democratic South Africa.

“In our official talks, we took the opportunity to thank the Austrian people for their support during our struggle for democracy.

“We believe that this solidarity they pledged to the people of South Africa as they struggled against apartheid has laid a firm basis for our bilateral cooperation.

“Your visit marks a new chapter for the relations between Austria and South Africa, as we seek to deepen investment and trade between our two countries,” President Ramaphosa said.

South Africa is Austria’s biggest trade partner in Africa, with nearly a third of all exports to the continent reaching South Africa shores.

Meanwhile, more 25% of all African exports to Austria are from South Africa.

“We have acknowledged the presence of more than 70 Austrian companies with subsidiaries and agencies in South Africa.

“Later today, [President Van der Bellen] and I will be participating in a high-level business forum that will explore the numerous ways and avenues for deepening cooperation and bilateral investments and trade between our two countries.

“South Africa welcomes the Republic of Austria’s ongoing commitment to our country’s development and to our efforts to drive inclusive growth and job creation,” President Ramaphosa said.

The two countries signed two memoranda of understanding on consular affairs and technical vocational education, as well as sharing reflections on the impact of geopolitical events.

“We affirmed the importance of multilateralism as we strive to realise a world free from conflict and war. We share the belief that the institutions of global governance, and particularly the United Nations Security Council, must be reformed to meet the challenges and realities of the world today.

“We took this opportunity to discuss the theme we have chosen for South Africa’s G20 Presidency, namely ‘Solidarity, Equality and Sustainability’. It envisages a world order in which every person, every community and every country has equal opportunity to progress and to thrive.

“From our discussions today, it is clear that this is an aspiration that Austria and South Africa share. Austria is a valued partner of South Africa. This State Visit will further deepen our longstanding cooperation and strengthen the ties between our two peoples,” President Ramaphosa said. – SAnews.gov.za

Bitcoin Solaris is in phase 10 of its limited 90-day presale. At just $10 per token with a $20 launch price, the potential 150% return is making early buyers rethink their entire portfolio.

This isn’t your usual sleepy presale. With over $6 million already raised and more than 13,650 users onboard, BTC-S is setting records. It’s one of the shortest and most explosive presales crypto has seen in years.

    • Only around 4 weeks left before launch.
    • Over 11,000 participants are already locked in.
    • Fastest-growing Web3 Telegram and X discussions.

To receive your tokens on launch day, Bitcoin Solaris recommends using Trust Wallet or Metamask for smooth delivery.

And if you’re looking to multiply your tokens before the clock runs out, BTC-S offers a powerful referral program that gives 5% back to both the inviter and the invited. It’s a win-win. No fine print.

Liquid Staking: Passive Income, Full Control

Beyond mining, Bitcoin Solaris also introduces a game-changing feature, liquid staking. Unlike traditional lock-up models, BTC-S lets users stake their tokens and receive sBTC-S in return, which can be traded or used in DeFi without forfeiting staking rewards.

    Highlights include:

    • Reward generation without sacrificing liquidity.
    • Compatibility with decentralized applications.
    • Integration into the Solaris Nova App for ease of use.
    • Strengthened network security through validator engagement.

In addition, BTC-S added daily mini-games to boost engagement and rewards. If you’re holding tokens, don’t miss your shot; all the info is right here.

The hype isn’t just retail-driven. Influencers are circling in. A detailed review by Token Galaxy recently broke down Bitcoin Solaris’s architecture, mining advantages, and real potential to follow a Bitcoin-like trajectory.

Security? Verified. With smart contract audits completed by Cyberscope and Freshcoins, BTC-S ticks the box for safety-conscious investors.

And the community? Thriving. The project’s Telegram and growing X presence are filled with real users, asking smart questions, and onboarding faster than most centralized exchanges.

    Press release

Scottish Secretary: Scotland must not miss out on nuclear opportunities

Scotland is becoming globally isolated on nuclear power – missing out on much needed skilled jobs and economic growth – because of the Scottish Government’s ideological stance on nuclear power.

    • Scotland is becoming globally isolated on nuclear power and missing out on jobs and clean power.

    • Ian Murray urges the Scottish Government to drop their ideological opposition.

    • Call comes ahead of a visit to Torness Nuclear Power Station.

Scotland is becoming globally isolated on nuclear power – missing out on much needed skilled jobs and economic growth – because of the Scottish Government’s ideological stance on nuclear power.

Nuclear energy could create thousands of new, highly-skilled jobs in Scotland, while delivering clean, secure and more affordable energy for working people. Reliable, cheap nuclear power can support critical modern infrastructure in Scotland, such as supercomputers.

Speaking ahead of a visit to Torness Nuclear Power Station in East Lothian today [Thursday 3 July], Scottish Secretary Ian Murray cited new research which shows that Scotland risks becoming one of few areas in Europe where the devolved government is publicly against new nuclear development.

    Mr Murray said:

In other parts of the UK, the UK Government is driving forward nuclear power, as are countries across Europe and indeed the world. But in Scotland the Scottish Government clings to its ideological objection to new nuclear sites. That means that Scotland is being left behind, missing out on thousands of skilled jobs and economic growth, as well as clean affordable energy. I urge the Scottish Government to put Scotland’s interests first.

The research by the Nuclear Industry Association and World Nuclear Association shows that 87 per cent of the world economy is pursuing new nuclear power, including France, Sweden, Finland and the Netherlands. Many previously anti-nuclear European countries are abandoning their positions, including Italy, Denmark, and Belgium, while Germany has dropped its opposition to EU-level initiatives on nuclear energy.

The UK Government has committed to building Sizewell C and Small Nuclear Reactors as part of our drive to deliver cleaner, more affordable energy.

Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association said:

Nuclear in Scotland will bring jobs and growth as well as a constant supply of secure, reliable and clean electricity that complements other low carbon sources. As countries around the world are increasingly embracing nuclear as an integral part of achieving energy security, decarbonisation and minimising the exposure to the volatility of fossil fuel prices. The Scottish Government’s refusal to countenance replacing Torness when it retires in a few years is indicative of a fundamental lack of seriousness of policy.

Since Torness started operating in 1988, it has contributed more than £16.1 billion to the UK economy and supported more than 2,600 jobs a year. Together Hunterston B and Torness have contributed more than £29.4 billion to the UK economy.
