Specialists from the Ufa corporate scientific institute have developed a design for a gear reducer installed at the Bashneft-UNPZ treatment facilities (part of Rosneft). The part was manufactured according to the scientific institute’s drawings and implemented in the production process.

The research institute has been working on import substitution of parts at Ufa oil refineries since 2024. The institute plans to develop 3D printing from polymers and composites. Potentially, this method can produce more than 5,000 spare parts for Rosneft enterprises. Currently, pilot tests of impellers of electric motors for booster and oil pumps made of plastic are being conducted at the largest production asset of the Company, RN-Yuganskneftegaz. Based on the test results, serial production of parts is planned.

Rosneft is actively implementing an import substitution program, including in the area of providing oil refineries with spare parts. The innovative approach of 3D scanning allows creating a high-precision digital 3D model, on the basis of which Russian enterprises manufacture spare parts that are not inferior to foreign parts in terms of quality characteristics.

HARBIN, July 14 (Xinhua) — The familiar sounds of folk songs echoed in Fuyuan, a city in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province that borders Russia, as a party between China and Russia was held earlier this month. Five Russian singers in red national costumes touched the hearts of those in attendance with their heartfelt rendition of the Chinese song “Jasmine” in its original language, amidst applause from spectators from both countries.

Natalia Efimycheva, the Russian artist who performed the song “Jasmine,” said that they love Chinese culture, this time they not only sang traditional Chinese folk songs, but also brought a Russian song “Valenki.” Many of their Chinese friends also expressed their love for Russian culture to her.

This event became another link promoting Chinese-Russian cultural exchanges and cross-civilizational learning among representatives of the two countries. Shortly before this, in early July, Fuyuan City hosted the Second Meeting of the Ussuli River and Lakes Tourism Association, during which exciting cross-border tourism routes were presented.

Fuyuan City, known as the “East Pole of China”, is separated from Russia by the Ussuri and Heilongjiang (Amur) Rivers on the east and north sides respectively.

Every year, from May to October, the rivers come alive with the Fuyuan-Khabarovsk river service. Cargo ships cut through the waters, and Chinese and Russian tourists wave to each other on cruise ships.

Fuyuan is currently seeking new horizons in cross-border cooperation with the Russian Far East, strengthening ties and deepening cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, infrastructure, ecology and cultural tourism.

Walking along the main shopping streets of Fuyuan, you will see bilingual signs everywhere, in Chinese and Russian. Even taxi drivers here can communicate in simple Russian.

In recent years, Fuyuan has been actively promoting the “China-Russia cross-border tourism route”, inviting travelers to discover the unique traditions and exotic customs of the region.

Gubat Gumalatovich Gubatov, Deputy Chairman of the Khabarovsk Regional Branch of the Association “Opora Rossii” noted that Fuyuan is a beautiful city, it is located not far from Khabarovsk, but its landscapes are so unique that they will undoubtedly attract many Russians.

The exoticism of Russia also attracts Chinese tourists. “In the morning I met the first ray of sunshine at Dongji Square /East Pole/, and after lunch I will try real Russian cuisine in Khabarovsk!” shared his impressions a Chinese tourist with the surname Li from Hainan Province /South China/. “This is a very special experience!”

With customs clearance procedures continuing to be simplified, this cross-border tourist route is becoming popular, with more than 300 tourists passing through Fuyuan every day during peak season.

Fuyuan City authorities proudly present unique tourist routes, demonstrating achievements in preserving the fishing culture of the Hezhe ethnic group and in the ecological protection of Heixiazi Island (Big Ussuri Island).

In addition, other cities and counties of the association, such as Mishan, Hulin and Raohe, presented their rich tourism and cultural resources along the Usuli River. Guests from Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Korsakov, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and other Russian cities also introduced the meeting participants to local cultural and tourism resources that can help strengthen exchanges and develop cooperation in the field of Sino-Russian cross-border tourism.

Acting Minister of Tourism of Khabarovsk Krai Elena Vladimirovna Tsymbal said that Khabarovsk and Fuyuan have broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of cultural tourism, economy and trade, etc. In the future, she hopes to strengthen cooperation with Fuyuan in many aspects, such as study tours, medical tours, scientific and technical tours, industrial tours and agricultural tours.

Trade relations between the two border cities are growing stronger day by day. In 2024, the total volume of imported and exported goods through the Fuyuan cargo port was more than 80,000 tons. In the pavilions of the Fuyuan border mutual trade zone, more than 20,000 types of Russian goods are neatly displayed on the shelves. Chocolate, candy, honey cake, etc. are popular with consumers. According to Xie Jinglong, a staff member, since the center opened in 2015, a total of 37,000 tons of imported goods have been transported, and the trade turnover has amounted to nearly 688 million yuan.

“In the future, travel between Fuyuan and Khabarovsk will be more convenient, trade will be more dynamic, and cultural exchanges will be more profound,” said He Dahai, secretary of the Fuyuan Party Committee. He said that with the continuous improvement of infrastructure, Fuyuan and Khabarovsk are rapidly becoming leading cities in Sino-Russian cooperation. -0-

TEHRAN, July 14 (Xinhua) — Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday stressed the need to ensure security in West Asia through the participation of all regional states, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

During a telephone conversation, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian and UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed regional issues, bilateral ties and Israeli-American “aggression” against Iran, the report said.

A.A. Ahmadian praised the UAE’s condemnation of Israel’s military “aggression” against Iran, stressing that the security of the region’s countries is “interrelated” and requires the participation of all states in the region.

“If the security of any country in the region is threatened by external risks, then this will challenge the entire region,” he added.

A.A. Ahmadian also emphasized Iran’s principled policy of expanding relations with its neighbors.

The UAE National Security Adviser also noted that all states in the region must guarantee the security of the region.

“If the security of one regional state is threatened, it will negatively affect all other countries in the region,” he said.

On June 13, Israel launched major airstrikes on several areas of Iran, including nuclear and military sites, killing senior commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. Iran responded with multiple missile and drone strikes on Israel, causing casualties and destruction.

GAZA, July 14 (Xinhua) — Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad said Sunday that ongoing indirect talks with Israel should lead to an end to the war, a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, opening of crossings and reconstruction.

The remarks came during a meeting between the leaders of the two organizations at an unspecified location, according to a statement released by Hamas.

The Hamas delegation was led by Hamas Shura Council Chairman Mohammed Darwish, while the Palestinian Islamic Jihad delegation was led by its Secretary General Ziad al-Nakhalah.

“The two factions discussed developments in the ongoing internationally mediated talks and the Israeli side’s responses to the proposals presented to reach a ceasefire agreement,” the statement said.

The statement stressed that any potential agreement must meet the aspirations of the Palestinians, including an end to the war that has led to human suffering and heavy civilian casualties.

Indirect talks between Israel and Hamas in the Qatari capital Doha are entering a “critical and difficult phase,” a Hamas source said, warning that Israel’s “intransigence” could lead to the talks collapsing.

A Hamas source said the two delegations had reviewed Israel’s responses, noting that the main obstacle to progress in the talks was Israel’s “intransigent position on the withdrawal maps.” -0-

  • MIL-OSI Russia: A project-analytical session of the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies was held at NSU

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

    Source: Novosibirsk State University –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

A two-day project-analytical session was held at Novosibirsk State University Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies NSU. It was attended by the heads of the IMMT NSU, including curators of educational programs, as well as representatives of other leading medical universities of our country – Sechenov University and the Siberian State Medical University (SSMU). The goal of the event was to determine the main directions of the transformation of medical education at NSU taking into account modern trends.

    — We discussed how the structure of medical education should be changed so that it corresponds to strategic changes in higher education as a whole. First of all, this is a trend towards personalization, when each student has their own development trajectory; the second important point is to provide the maximum possible number of practical skills that are in demand in practical activities and the pharmaceutical industry, so that students already during their studies know how to work in the future. For example, they have skills in working with modern systems that are used in healthcare, such as electronic document management, technologies based on artificial intelligence. Another point: curricula should be flexible, constantly updated, updated and developed, this will allow students to understand modern methods of treatment, therapy, diagnostics. At the same time, it is important to find a balance between classical education, fundamental knowledge and special subjects that are aimed specifically at training doctors. After all, the specificity of the university is that we train not just doctors, but medical researchers, said Mikhail Khvostov, acting dean of the faculty of medical cybernetics and pharmacy at the Institute of Medicine and Medical Technologies of NSU.

The session included a plenary part, when nine experts made presentations. First, the university team presented key information about the current status of medical education at NSU. Yulia Samoylova, professor, director of the IMMT NSU, told about the history of the emergence of medical care at the university, gave an overview of what is happening now, focused on what scientific, technological and educational projects the Institute is engaged in and what are the prospects for the future. Then the heads of the areas of “Medical Care”, “Medical Cybernetics” and “Psychology” spoke about their programs. The speech of Dmitry Kudlai, director of innovative development programs at NSU, was devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in education in general and in industrial pharmacy in particular. Irina Sergeeva, director of the Center for Postgraduate Medical Education at NSU, spoke about the features of residency programs.

The presentations by external experts – Victoria Kovalevskaya, a representative of Sechenov University, and Inessa Yakimovich, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Siberian State Medical University – were devoted to new models of medical education. Then there was work in small groups, when the participants had to define the key elements of the future model of medical education at NSU.

Among the main areas for development identified as a result of the session are the introduction of individual trajectories in medical education; training students and teachers to use modern information systems, artificial intelligence, both in education and in medicine.

    — The response to modern trends in the industry was the launch of a new educational program at our Institute — medical cybernetics. This is a science that is developing at the intersection of biology, medicine and information technology. We are currently in the midst of an admissions campaign; and we see that the direction is in demand, there is great interest in it. Thus, we made the right choice by introducing a new direction, and this is important, since cybernetics should contribute to the introduction of digitalization of healthcare and help doctors make better diagnoses and treat people more effectively, which is one of the priorities in the modern world, — emphasized Yulia Samoylova, Director of the IMMT NSU.

The project-analytical session held at NSU is an introductory one and opens a series of events that will be aimed at modernizing medical education and developing a unified strategy for its development in the near future, including taking into account the infrastructure of the new campus and involving the entire university staff in the work.

During his meeting with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in the Jordanian capital Amman, Abbas said that “Hamas will not rule Gaza in the post-war era,” the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

BERLIN, July 13 (Xinhua) — German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said on Sunday that the European Union should take decisive action against the United States if tariff talks fail to ease the escalating global trade conflict, German newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported.

Klingbeil’s comments came in response to US President Donald Trump’s threat on Saturday to impose 30 percent tariffs on EU exports from August 1 after talks had so far failed to produce a deal.

Calling for an end to escalating trade tensions, Germany’s finance minister said: “Trump’s tariffs only cause losses. They threaten the American economy just as they hurt businesses in Europe.”

As reported by Suddeutsche Zeitung, L. Klingbeil emphasized that the European Union “does not need new threats or provocations,” but “an honest agreement.”

He warned that Germany would not remain indifferent if the talks failed. “If a fair solution cannot be reached, we must take tough countermeasures to protect jobs and businesses in Europe,” the vice chancellor said, noting that preparations were already underway. “Our hand is still outstretched, but we will not give in to everything,” he added.

    L. Klingbeil also said that Germany is stepping up efforts to diversify its global trade relations.

The United States is Germany’s largest export market. According to German government data, the country exported €161 billion ($188 billion) in goods to the U.S. in 2024, with a trade surplus of nearly €70 billion. –0–

PYONGYANG, July 13 (Xinhua) — The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) condemned the joint military exercises between the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Sunday, calling the trilateral maneuvers “a major danger factor that increases the level of military tension on the Korean Peninsula and adjacent areas.”

As reported by the Korean Central News Agency, citing a statement by the head of the Political Department of the DPRK Ministry of Defense, on July 11, the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea “held provocative trilateral joint air exercises, using various types of bombers, including the B-52H strategic bomber, in the skies over the Korean Peninsula and its environs.”

The statement noted that the military alliances between the US and Japan and between the US and the ROK “have finally evolved into a nuclear-based trilateral military alliance,” and the trilateral military cooperation being promoted in all areas foreshadows “long-term instability and tension on the Korean Peninsula, which may lead to an unpredictable phase of military confrontation at any time.”

The statement stressed that taking countermeasures against provocative military actions that threaten regional security, such as steps to strengthen the multilateral military alliance, is the DPRK’s sovereign right. –0–

URUMQI, July 13 (Xinhua) — China completed construction on Sunday of a 4,197-km ultra-high-voltage (UHV) power transmission line around the Tarim Basin, home to the country’s largest desert, marking a milestone in infrastructure development in the southern part of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The largest project of its kind in the country, the 750-kV ring transmission line consists of nine substations and nearly 10,000 steel towers, according to the Xinjiang-based local company in charge of implementing the project, which is part of the Xinjiang branch of China National Grid Corporation.

The said power transmission line took 15 years to build and is expected to be officially commissioned by November 2025, the company said.

The Tarim Basin is home to the Taklamakan Desert, the world’s second-largest shifting sand desert. For centuries, sandstorms have battered the oases of southern Xinjiang, hampering development in the region.

Officials and experts believe the project could accelerate development in southern Xinjiang and provide new energy sources across the country. -0-

WASHINGTON, July 13 (Xinhua) — U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday urged his supporters to stop attacking Attorney General Pam Bondi over the Justice Department’s recent findings regarding sex trafficking defendant Jeffrey Epstein.

“What is happening to my ‘boys’ and in some cases ‘girls’?” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They are all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi who is doing a fantastic job! We are on the same team, MAGA, and I don’t like what is happening,” he added.

He urged his team “not to waste time and energy on Jeffrey Epstein, a man no one cares about.”

Trump’s defense comes amid a backlash over the Epstein files. On Monday, the Justice Department released a memo saying there was no evidence Epstein had a “client list” or was murdered, prompting disbelief in the findings and criticism of the investigation by Trump’s political allies.

For years, D. Trump and his supporters have been advocating for the release of Epstein’s client list. –0–

ALMATY, July 13 (Xinhua) — Cities today are not only economic hubs but also diplomatic centers, Serik Korzhumbayev, editor-in-chief of the Delovoy Kazakhstan newspaper, said in a recent exclusive interview with Xinhua at the “Dialogue of Mayors of the World – SCO Summit Cities” event held in Tianjin.

According to him, participation in the SCO cities dialogue has shown that respect for cultural diversity, dialogue at the people level and real cooperation at the city level are becoming the most important for the sustainable development of the countries of the region. Kazakhstan, as a bridge between the East and the West, between China and Central Asia, plays a key role in this process.

“Today we see how the humanitarian dimension is coming to the forefront within the SCO. It is especially important that the younger generation of the SCO member states have the opportunity to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and understand the values of their partners. This is the foundation for long-term peace and sustainable development,” said S. Korzhumbayev.

The expert also stressed that cities like Tianjin are becoming a model of “modernization with a human face,” where technology serves not only efficiency, but also the comfort of life, ecology, and safety.

The Tianjin meeting in preparation for the SCO summit this fall was a convincing confirmation that cities are becoming “laboratories” of a new format of international cooperation – more humane, technological and environmentally friendly. These cities are where connections, trust and images of the future are formed that will determine the course of development of the entire Eurasian space. –0–

BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) — A total of 131,000 standard containers of cargo were shipped from east China’s Zhejiang Province via the Yixinou (Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe) route on China-Europe international rail freight services in the first half of 2025, up 11.1 percent year on year, according to data from Hangzhou Customs.

According to the official website of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, there are currently 26 regular cross-border routes within the framework of China-Europe rail freight transportation, linking Zhejiang Province with more than 160 cities in more than 50 countries on the Eurasian continent. The volume of goods sent by China-Europe trains maintains stable growth.

In order to ensure the steady growth of the range and quantity of goods transported along Yixinou routes, Hangzhou Customs has taken a series of measures to simplify customs clearance, such as opening a “green corridor” for China-Europe trains and pre-registration for customs clearance of goods on a 24/7 basis /24 hours a day, 7 days a week/.

The Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe international freight railway route was officially launched in November 2014. It starts in Yiwu, known as the “world supermarket,” passes through Xinjiang to Kazakhstan, crosses the territories of Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, France and ends in Madrid, Spain. CARACAS, July 13 (Xinhua) — The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of the Americas (ALBA) on Saturday strongly condemned U.S. sanctions against senior Cuban officials.

In a statement, the bloc called the sanctions imposed by the US State Department on Friday “shameful,” condemning the measures against Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, Armed Forces Minister General Alvaro Lopez Miera and Interior Minister Lazaro Alberto Alvarez Casas.

“The sanctions reflect a deep fear of imperialism in the face of the living example of resistance, dignity and sovereignty embodied by the Cuban Revolution,” the statement said, reaffirming the bloc’s solidarity with the Cuban people, government and leadership.

“Cuba is not alone. The people of America stand with it,” the statement said.

Washington announced the sanctions on Friday, which Washington said were related to the role of Cuban officials in the “brutal suppression of protests” in 2021. –0–
