The results of the 18th All-Russian (with international participation) competition of social advertising “Exit” have been summed up. The competition has been held since 2007 on the basis of Lipetsk State Technical University. This year the festival was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the year of the Defender of the Fatherland.

The competition received over 300 entries. Projects by students majoring in Advertising and Public Relations at the State University of Management won a record number of prizes in various competition nominations.

Winning and prize-winning projects completed by student teams within the framework of the SUM project activities:

Nomination “PR-project”: Subject – Healthy lifestyle 1st place – “Mental Help – for your health” Project team: Victoria Vlasova, Victoria Dudetskaya, Valeria Solodkova, Sofia Zhigalkina (RISSO in business 2-3), manager – Alexandra Nikolaevna Timokhovich.

Valeriya Solodkova: “Our development is dedicated to the current topic of youth mental health. The target audience of our project is young people suffering from depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, stress disorders and other psychological problems. It is important for such people to monitor their health and condition. We have developed a concept and design solutions for a mobile application that is designed to support people with mental problems and improve their well-being.”

Theme: Strong family – strong state 1st place – “Babylon – the door to the diversity of the world” Project team: Chaleleshvili Mariami, Basencyan Meri (RISSO in business 2-3), leader – Timokhovich Alexandra Nikolaevna.

Basentsyan Meri: “In a modern multicultural society, people are not sufficiently informed about the culture and traditions of different nations and nationalities. The lack of a single platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between representatives of different cultures makes it difficult to preserve and pass on cultural heritage to future generations. As part of the completed project solutions, we offer the audience not only to get acquainted with the culture of other peoples by providing information about traditions, languages, art, history, but also to exchange cultural samples, unite in communities of interest.”

2nd place – “VUZ Directions – your chance!” Project team: Anna Antipa, Olga Lazarenko, Ekaterina Zamordueva, Veronika Kviring, Maria Rasskazova (RISSO in business 2-3), leader – Alexandra Nikolaevna Timokhovich.

Olga Lazarenko: “In connection with the opening up of new technological opportunities, the structure of the labor market is changing. The problem of professional self-determination is becoming relevant. Teenagers often face the problem of choosing a future profession, since it is quite rare that young people in their youth are able to accurately determine in which professional field they would like to develop. Our project developments allow schoolchildren and their parents, as well as adults who want to change their profession, to choose a direction for study at a university or in additional professional education courses, and to decide on a future profession.”

2nd place – “Profor” Project team: Veronika Aparina, Kira Bogatkina, Anna Vaslyaeva, Ksenia Ignatyeva, Sofia Mazeina, Anna Shorohova (RISSO in business 3-1), leader – Elena Vadimovna Dianina.

Moscow, June 9 /Xinhua/ — The Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia has thwarted an attempt to commit sabotage at a defense enterprise in the Moscow region, the FSB’s Public Relations Center (PRC) reported.

“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has stopped the illegal activity of two Russian citizens, born in 1987 and 1999, who intended to commit sabotage at one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) in the Moscow region,” the FSB Public Relations Center said in a statement.

They established contact with representatives of the organization via Telegram, “acting independently of each other.”

In preparation for the sabotage, the detainees conducted reconnaissance and photography of key facilities of the enterprise, sending the resulting footage to their curators, the FSB Public Relations Center added. They removed the components for the homemade explosive device from pre-prepared hiding places.

Both men have been arrested. They confessed to carrying out tasks for a terrorist organization aimed at stopping the operation of a defense industry facility, the FSB Public Relations Center said.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: The Department of Urban Development presented projects for the Belarusian city of Nesvizh

Fourth-year students of the Urban Planning Department of Mikhail Vilensky’s workshop, in the context of interaction with the architectural community of the Republic of Belarus and Russian architectural bureaus, completed projects for the comprehensive spatial and architectural-compositional development of the city of Nesvizh in the Minsk region.

On behalf of the architectural community of the Republic of Belarus, the first deputy chairman of the Public Association of the Belarusian Union of Architects, head of the design company VIASET, PhD in architecture Vadim Drazhin took part in the procedure of protection and expert evaluation of the works; on behalf of the Russian architectural community, the head of projects of the MLA bureau, PhD in architecture Mikhail Stepura took part.

Nesvizh is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Belarus, with a rich historical and cultural heritage. One of the four sites of the republic included in the UNESCO World Heritage List is located here – the Radziwill Palace and Park Complex. In addition to it, the city has preserved many unique architectural and urban planning monuments, including the city hall, shopping arcades, temples, monasteries, remains of city fortifications and historical stone buildings. Currently, Nesvizh continues to actively develop as an administrative and tourist center.

The work on rethinking and reorganizing the spatial development of Nesvizh was carried out under the supervision of teachers from the Department of Urban Development of St. Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering: candidate of architecture Mikhail Vilensky, candidate of architecture Ksenia Veretennikova and Elena Karpenko.

As part of the team research, students studied the history, culture, evolutionary spatial-territorial development, transport system and functional features of the city and its architectural-stylistic and compositional parameters of development. As a result, five teams of students presented their own views on the development of Nesvizh, focusing in the projects on its various aspects:

“Reorganization of the center of the small historical town of Nesvizh” (Arina Akatova, Elena Belousova and Diana Nurgalieva); “Three centers of the small historical town of Nesvizh” (Elizaveta Murygina and Ekaterina Shishova); “Nesvizh. Point of education” (Anastasia Zapolskikh and Anzhelika Ivanikhina); “Five squares of Nesvizh: the concept of development of public spaces of the historical center of the city” (Sofya Artyukhova); “Research of the centers of small historical towns and three functional-spatial strategies for the development of the city of Nesvizh” (Ivan Bondar, Gleb Grebennikov, Mussa Laipanov, Anastasia Leontyeva and Egor Korenkov).

Invited representatives of the Russian and Belarusian architectural community highly appreciated the students’ works. In the future, the projects will be presented for consideration by interested parties in the Republic of Belarus.

As Vadim Drazhin noted, “five teams of student architects proposed strategic development of tourism as a key function of the historical center of the city of Nesvizh. The design solutions, based on the research, are of interest for consideration by the city administration with subsequent application in adjusting the detailed city plan.”

The Department of Urban Planning plans to further develop close cooperation with representatives of the architectural community, administration and architectural and urban planning educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus.

In a remarkable push towards inclusive financial empowerment, the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) has sanctioned over ₹33.65 lakh crore in loans to more than 52.5 crore small and micro-entrepreneurs over the last eleven years — more than the combined population of the USA, Russia, and Australia.

Launched in 2015 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the vision of “Funding the Unfunded,” PMMY has become a game-changer for first-time entrepreneurs, especially from marginalized communities. Of the total sanctioned loans, ₹11.58 lakh crore has been extended to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and OBCs, underscoring the government’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas.”

Women have emerged as the biggest beneficiaries, receiving 68% of the total MUDRA loans—over 35.38 crore loans worth ₹14.72 lakh crore—boosting their participation in the national economy and fostering a new generation of female entrepreneurs.

PMMY offers collateral-free loans under four categories:

    Shishu (up to ₹50,000),

  • MIL-OSI Russia: US companies blame changing trade policy for eroding business prospects for the future – media

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: People’s Republic of China in Russian – People’s Republic of China in Russian –

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

WASHINGTON, June 9 (Xinhua) — American businessmen warn that the U.S. administration’s ever-changing trade policies are making it difficult for them to plan for the future, leading to a freeze in hiring and investment, The Wall Street Journal reported.

John Starr, owner of UltraSource, a Kansas City, Mo., supplier of meat processing and packing equipment, said he is holding off on hiring or making additional capital investments until there is clarity on tariffs.

The company is waiting for suppliers in Europe to finalize $20 million in orders it placed before the Trump administration’s 10 percent tariffs went into effect on April 9, the report said. That means it faces a $2 million tax bill if the tariffs remain in place.

“How am I supposed to pay for this?” said J. Starr, the third-generation owner of the company. “It could wipe out the entire year’s profits.”

For months, US President Donald Trump has announced one significant tariff increase after another, at times switching from escalation to temporary settlement.

“Where this all ends depends on what Trump decides to do next, and frankly, even Trump doesn’t know what Trump will do next,” Christopher Thornberg, a founding partner at Beacon Economics in Los Angeles, was quoted as saying in the article. “So it’s almost impossible to know where this is going.”

In this environment, the US economy faces three main risks in the coming months, namely a potential rise in unemployment, a decline in consumer demand, and disruptions caused by financial market turmoil or sharp changes in sentiment, the article says.

With the possibility of companies laying off workers due to low demand remaining, unemployment could rise quickly once such a scenario becomes a reality.

At the same time, the level of delinquent debt on consumer loans has been rising for a year, raising concerns that the worsening financial situation of low-income borrowers could lead to a more noticeable slowdown in consumer spending, the article notes.

For many companies, the uncertainty caused by Trump’s sudden and seemingly arbitrary tariff announcements has impacted sales prospects this year, the article says.

“I have to take action immediately,” said J. Starr. “We will be very careful about any cash expenditures just because we need the money to pay the tariff.” -0-

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhua) — China’s consumer inflation eased in May, driven by lower energy and food prices, while producer prices also continued to fall, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.

According to the agency, in May the consumer price index /CPI/, the main indicator of inflation, fell by 0.1 percent year-on-year and by 0.2 percent month-on-month.

The main factor that influenced the May CPI was the decline in energy prices. The contribution of this group of goods to the decline in CPI on an annual basis was 0.47 percentage points, noted /GSU/ statistician Dong Lijuan.

According to her, positive price changes have been observed in some sectors against the backdrop of the country’s ongoing policy of stimulating consumption.

The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, rose by 0.6 percent year-on-year in May, compared to 0.5 percent in April, according to data from the State Statistics Service.

In May, food prices in the country fell by 0.4 percent year-on-year, while prices for non-food products remained unchanged.

Consumer prices fell by 0.5 percent, while service prices rose by 0.5 percent.

Overall, in January-May, the CPI in China fell by 0.1 percent compared to the same period last year.

The latest data from the State Statistics Service also showed that the producer price index (PPI), which measures the overall change in wholesale producer prices, fell 3.3 percent year-on-year in May, an improvement from a 2.7 percent drop in April.

Dong Lijuan attributed the decline in PPI to the fall in global crude oil prices, which led to lower prices in China’s oil-related industries, as well as a seasonal decline in demand for energy and raw materials. As the statistician explained, seasonal factors led to a decline in coal prices, while hot and rainy weather also disrupted construction activity in the southern regions.

On a monthly basis, the PPI fell by 0.4 percent in May. In the first five months of the year, the PPI declined by 2.6 percent compared to a year earlier. -0-

For them, the championships serve as a real mechanism for selecting promising interns and young specialists, and for students, a platform for applying their knowledge and developing professional skills.

The rating also included Saint Petersburg campus of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, which took 6th place. At the same time, it became the leader in terms of participation efficiency: out of 83 students, 7 reached the final, 4 became winners, which ensured it 1st place in terms of points per participant. The Moscow campus took 3rd place in this indicator.

The results of the case season confirm that the Higher School of Economics not only forms a strong theoretical base, but also provides its students with real opportunities for professional growth, making them competitive in the eyes of the country’s leading employers.

  • MIL-OSI USA: Díaz-Balart Leads FL Delegation on Homestead Air Reserve Base F-35A Letter to Trump Administration

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (25th District of FLORIDA)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Committee, led a 17-member coalition from the Florida Congressional Delegation in a letter to President Trump and his administration requesting sustained F-35A production and fielding to modernize the aging F-16C fleet at Homestead Air Reserve Base.

“As Dean of the Florida Delegation, I am acutely aware of the security threats our nation faces from drug trafficking, transnational criminal organizations, and the increasing malign influence and presence of anti-American adversaries like Russia and China in the Southern Hemisphere. Florida is foundational in protecting our national security, countering the southern border threats and defending our Eastern coastline.

“For these reasons, having the modern, multi-role F-35A fighter aircraft at HomesteadAir Reserve Base, which has served as a foundational line of defense for over 80 years, is a vital asset and will ensure the United States’ readiness in confronting these threats to our national security,” said Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart.

“As America faces growing threats from our adversaries like Communist China and Putin’s Russia, the need to modernize our air defenses has never been more urgent,” said Congressman Carlos Gimenez. “The F-35 is the most advanced fighter jet in the world, and its production is critical to maintaining our military dominance. Located in Florida’s 28th District, Homestead Air Reserve Base must receive the investments and upgrades needed to support the next generation of tactical air power. South Florida plays a strategic role in our national defense, and Homestead must be ready to host and sustain the F-35 mission for decades to come.”

Read the full text of the letter here or below.

“We would first like to thank you for your efforts to keep our nation safe, make our military the most lethal military force in the world and return peace through strength around the world. As Commander in Chief, you understand the critical role Florida plays in delivering on that mission and protecting our national security. From deterring and preventing the approximately $2.7 trillion impact to American lives through fentanyl counternarcotics efforts to supporting Southern border operations and homeland defense alert missions along our coastlines, Homestead Air Force Reserve Base (HARB) is critical for our national security. Florida’s strategic location makes it uniquely postured to counter Chinese, Russian, Violent Extremist Organizations (VEOs), and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and their influence in the southern hemisphere. These regional threats are the largest contributor to the state of national emergency within the United States over illegal aliens, infiltration of Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs, and illicit opioids.

“Under your leadership as both our 45th and 47th president, Florida continues to fight the cartels and drug traffickers, leading to South Florida being named the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area of the Year. We dismantled or disrupted 54 drug trafficking organizations in 2023 and seized an estimate value of $748 million in illicit drugs, including 23 metric tons of cocaine, 248 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 224 kilograms of fentanyl.

“Through U.S. Southern Command, appropriately headquartered in Florida, we are tracking and thwarting Chinese efforts to expand their Belt and Road Initiative in Latin American Countries to monopolize natural resources, such as 20% of the world’s oil reserves, 25% of the strategic metals, and 31% of the fishing areas. We are working to claw back the $358 billion amassed by 35 TCOs in the region in 2023 through interdiction and counter trafficking efforts to help stabilize South America, preventing their problems from reaching our shores. The Russian Surface Action Group, led by the frigate Admiral Gorshkov and cruise missile submarine Kazan docked in Havana, Cuba, passed within 30 miles of the Florida Keys last June. Florida is uniquely postured to support the border alert mission to deter these acts of aggression.

“Within Florida, HARB serves a foundational role in supporting the most critical national defense missions. HARB generated $364 million for the local economy in 2023 alone. It is the home to the 2,500-member 482nd Fighter Wing and its reserve associate, the 367th Fighter Squadron, responsible for F-16 alerts across the coastline in support of Operation Noble Eagle. It houses the Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Branch, operating Blackhawks and turbo-prop airliners like the DHC-8 to interdict smugglers and prevent illegal aliens from crossing into the United States. Special Operations Command South Headquarters is also resident at HARB, executing special operations as assigned to U.S. Southern Command, spanning 31 countries and 10 overseas territories across Central and South America and the Caribbean.

“Florida’s Gulf of America, Atlantic Ocean access, and its proximity to Central and South America is what drove the 125th Fighter Wing Air National Guard (ANG) unit selection for the F-35A Lightning II. Starting with an initial batch of aircraft to Jacksonville ANG in March of this year and expanding to the 125th Fighter Wing Detachment 1 at HARB in 2027. The Air Force Reserve also planned this F-35A modernization to replace the aging F-16C fleet within the 482nd Fighter Wing. This would create a common fighter platform between the Reserves and National Guard at HARB, reducing costs for base operations through shared maintenance efforts. Together, these units would provide a considerable increase in readiness for the North American Aerospace Defense Command Alert mission across both the Southern and Eastern U.S. border as well as downrange multi-role operations through short-notice worldwide deployments.

“Together, we ask your administration to ensure that the F-35A goes to Homestead Air Reserve Base and the F-35A production quantities remain undeterred. There is no real trade when comparing other airframes and locales to a multi-role fighter aircraft capable of countering Russian, Chinese, VEOs, and TCOs operations across the entirety of the Southern and Eastern U.S. border and throughout the Southern Hemisphere. HARB is a vital asset for our national security and power projection, and critical for your Peace through Strength agenda. Thank you again for your leadership and we hope you will consider, within all applicable rules and regulations, our input on the matter.”

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Updated regulatory requirements in the field of ecology, forest conservation and biodiversity

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Government of the Russian Federation – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, work was carried out to update current requirements in the field of ecology and environmental protection, land use, forest conservation and biodiversity.

In total, several hundred regulatory legal acts are set to cease to be effective on September 1, 2025. As part of the “regulatory guillotine” – in accordance with the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin – they were checked for the need to cancel or update outdated and redundant requirements.

The documents proposed for re-publication were included in the so-called white list. The Ministry of Agriculture, Rosselkhoznadzor and Rosrybolovstvo adopted 19 regulatory legal acts. They affected the areas of veterinary science, plant growing and fisheries.

The Ministry of Natural Resources has adopted 41 documents that regulate relations in such socially significant areas as environmental protection, waste management, land reclamation and conservation, forest protection, regulation of timber turnover, protection of endangered forest plants, monitoring of water bodies, development of hydrocarbon deposits, creation and use of artificial islands, work in sea waters and on the continental shelf, prevention of death of wildlife during production processes, conservation of hunting resources.

To replace the regulatory legal acts in force since 2000, documents have been adopted that approve the maximum permissible concentrations and conditions for the discharge of harmful substances, the discharge of which is permitted, as well as a list of harmful substances, the discharge of which into the waters of the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation is prohibited.

The updated documents comply with the standards established in the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships.

The procedure for accepting the results of work on the reclamation (conservation) of lands in federal ownership has been clarified. A special commission will deal with this.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has adopted two Government resolutions in the area of creating and operating a system for automatic monitoring of pollutant emissions and/or discharges of pollutants.

“Over the past 25 years, emissions requirements have become much stricter in many industries. Taking into account the new realities, we analyzed regulatory and legal acts and recommended the most important of them for re-publication in an updated form,” Dmitry Patrushev summed up the work.

  • NATO needs 400% increase in air and missile defence, Rutte will say in London

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will use a speech in London on Monday to say the military alliance needs a 400% increase in air and missile defence, one of the priorities for a summit of members in the Hague later this month.

Rutte is pushing for members to boost defence spending to 3.5% of GDP and commit a further 1.5% to broader security-related spending to meet U.S. President Donald Trump’s demand for a 5% target. Last month, he said he assumed that target would be agreed at the summit on June 24-25.

Rutte will argue in a speech at London’s Chatham House think tank that for NATO to maintain credible deterrence and defence, it needs “a 400% increase in air and missile defence”.

“We see in Ukraine how Russia delivers terror from above, so we will strengthen the shield that protects our skies,” he will say, according to extracts of his speech provided by his office.

“The fact is, we need a quantum leap in our collective defence. The fact is, we must have more forces and capabilities to implement our defence plans in full. The fact is, danger will not disappear even when the war in Ukraine ends.”

With little let up in fighting in Russia’s war against Ukraine despite ceasefire calls, European countries are under pressure to raise defence spending after Trump signalled a shift in policy, pushing for the region to better protect itself.

Several countries say they are doing so, with Britain pledging an increase from 2.3% to 2.5% of GDP by 2027 and 3% of GDP at a later date. Germany has said it will need roughly 50,000 to 60,000 additional active soldiers under new NATO targets.

BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhua) — China has started a trial unilateral visa-free regime for ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain from June 9, 2025, expanding the scope of China’s unilateral visa-free policy to 47 countries.

From June 9, 2025 to June 8, 2026, ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain can enter China visa-free for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges or transit. Prior to this, China had already introduced reciprocal visa-free access with the UAE and Qatar in 2018. Thus, China has achieved “full coverage” of visa-free access for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in early June that the continuous expansion of the visa-free regime demonstrates China’s firm determination to continue to expand opening up to the outside world at a high level. He said China will continue to improve its entry policies and add more countries to the visa-free list to work with other countries to achieve common prosperity through broader opening up and deeper cooperation. -0-

The terms “joint venture”, “joint operations”, “joint arrangements”, and “associates” may also be used to refer to a commercial arrangement in which Shell has a direct or indirect ownership interest with one or more parties.  The term “Shell interest” is used for convenience to indicate the direct and/or indirect ownership interest held by Shell in an entity or unincorporated joint arrangement, after exclusion of all third-party interest.

    Forward-Looking statements
This announcement contains forward-looking statements (within the meaning of the U.S. Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995) concerning the financial condition, results of operations and businesses of Shell. All statements other than statements of historical fact are, or may be deemed to be, forward-looking statements. Forward-looking statements are statements of future expectations that are based on management’s current expectations and assumptions and involve known and unknown risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results, performance or events to differ materially from those expressed or implied in these statements. Forward-looking statements include, among other things, statements concerning the potential exposure of Shell to market risks and statements expressing management’s expectations, beliefs, estimates, forecasts, projections and assumptions. These forward-looking statements are identified by their use of terms and phrases such as “aim”; “ambition”; ‘‘anticipate’’;  “aspire”; “aspiration”; ‘‘believe’’; “commit”; “commitment”; ‘‘could’’; “desire”; ‘‘estimate’’; ‘‘expect’’; ‘‘goals’’; ‘‘intend’’; ‘‘may’’; “milestones”; ‘‘objectives’’; ‘‘outlook’’; ‘‘plan’’; ‘‘probably’’; ‘‘project’’; ‘‘risks’’; “schedule”; ‘‘seek’’; ‘‘should’’; ‘‘target’’; “vision”; ‘‘will’’; “would” and similar terms and phrases. There are a number of factors that could affect the future operations of Shell and could cause those results to differ materially from those expressed in the forward-looking statements included in this announcement, including (without limitation): (a) price fluctuations in crude oil and natural gas; (b) changes in demand for Shell’s products; (c) currency fluctuations; (d) drilling and production results; (e) reserves estimates; (f) loss of market share and industry competition; (g) environmental and physical risks, including climate change; (h) risks associated with the identification of suitable potential acquisition properties and targets, and successful negotiation and completion of such transactions; (i) the risk of doing business in developing countries and countries subject to international sanctions; (j) legislative, judicial, fiscal and regulatory developments including tariffs and regulatory measures addressing climate change; (k) economic and financial market conditions in various countries and regions; (l) political risks, including the risks of expropriation and renegotiation of the terms of contracts with governmental entities, delays or advancements in the approval of projects and delays in the reimbursement for shared costs; (m) risks associated with the impact of pandemics, regional conflicts, such as the Russia-Ukraine war and the conflict in the Middle East, and a significant cyber security, data privacy or IT incident; (n) the pace of the energy transition; and (o) changes in trading conditions. No assurance is provided that future dividend payments will match or exceed previous dividend payments. All forward-looking statements contained in this announcement are expressly qualified in their entirety by the cautionary statements contained or referred to in this section. Readers should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements. Additional risk factors that may affect future results are contained in Shell plc’s Form 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2024 (available at www.shell.com/investors/news-and-filings/sec-filings.html and www.sec.gov). These risk factors also expressly qualify all forward-looking statements contained in this announcement and should be considered by the reader.  Each forward-looking statement speaks only as of the date of this announcement, June 9, 2025. Neither Shell plc nor any of its subsidiaries undertake any obligation to publicly update or revise any forward-looking statement as a result of new information, future events or other information. In light of these risks, results could differ materially from those stated, implied or inferred from the forward-looking statements contained in this announcement.

    Shell’s net carbon intensity
Also, in this announcement we may refer to Shell’s “net carbon intensity” (NCI), which includes Shell’s carbon emissions from the production of our energy products, our suppliers’ carbon emissions in supplying energy for that production and our customers’ carbon emissions associated with their use of the energy products we sell. Shell’s NCI also includes the emissions associated with the production and use of energy products produced by others which Shell purchases for resale. Shell only controls its own emissions. The use of the terms Shell’s “net carbon intensity” or NCI is for convenience only and not intended to suggest these emissions are those of Shell plc or its subsidiaries.

    Shell’s net-zero emissions target
Shell’s operating plan and outlook are forecasted for a three-year period and ten-year period, respectively, and are updated every year. They reflect the current economic environment and what we can reasonably expect to see over the next three and ten years. Accordingly, the outlook reflects our Scope 1, Scope 2 and NCI targets over the next ten years. However, Shell’s operating plan and outlook cannot reflect our 2050 net-zero emissions target, as this target is outside our planning period. Such future operating plans and outlooks could include changes to our portfolio, efficiency improvements and the use of carbon capture and storage and carbon credits. In the future, as society moves towards net-zero emissions, we expect Shell’s operating plans and outlooks to reflect this movement. However, if society is not net zero in 2050, as of today, there would be significant risk that Shell may not meet this target.

    Forward Looking non-GAAP measures
This announcement may contain certain forward-looking non-GAAP measures such as adjusted earnings and divestments. We are unable to provide a reconciliation of these forward-looking non-GAAP measures to the most comparable GAAP financial measures because certain information needed to reconcile those non-GAAP measures to the most comparable GAAP financial measures is dependent on future events some of which are outside the control of Shell, such as oil and gas prices, interest rates and exchange rates. Moreover, estimating such GAAP measures with the required precision necessary to provide a meaningful reconciliation is extremely difficult and could not be accomplished without unreasonable effort. Non-GAAP measures in respect of future periods which cannot be reconciled to the most comparable GAAP financial measure are calculated in a manner which is consistent with the accounting policies applied in Shell plc’s consolidated financial statements.

The contents of websites referred to in this announcement do not form part of this announcement.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Polytechnic congratulates Peter the Great on his birthday

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University – Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University –

Today, June 9, marks 353 years since the birth of Peter I, the first Emperor of All Russia, the founder of St. Petersburg and a talented engineer, whose name our university proudly bears.

The indomitable spirit, wisdom and foresight of Peter I forever changed the course of our country’s history. His large-scale reforms covered all aspects of public life in the Russian Empire and had a significant impact on the country’s further development. The Emperor laid the foundation for the modern state structure of Russia, formed a regular army and navy, and introduced a new education system.

In 2015, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation issued an order to return the name of Peter the Great to our university, which was lost after the October Revolution. A year later, a ceremonial opening of a monument to Peter I took place in front of the main academic building of SPbPU.

The Polytechnic University proudly continues the great work of the Emperor – to develop science and technology, to prepare personnel for the future of our country. His example inspires polytechnics to be just as purposeful, dedicated to their work and striving for perfection.

    Happy birthday, Peter the Great!

  • MIL-OSI Russia: SPbPU offered Venezuela cooperation in education and science

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University – Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University –

A working meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education of Venezuela was held in the Committee for Science and Higher Education of St. Petersburg. The representatives of the friendly Latin American country were met by the Chairman of the Committee for Science and Higher Education Andrey Maksimov. Representatives of six universities of St. Petersburg took part in the meeting. The Polytechnic University was represented by the Head of the International Cooperation Department Vladimir Khizhnyak.

The Venezuelan delegation was headed by the Minister of People’s Power for Higher Education, Richardo Mujica. The delegation included the Director General of the Directorate of Integration and International Relations, Gasparri Rey, the Director of Bilateral Meetings of the International Relations Department, Jimenez Cubillán, and the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Russian Federation, Andrés González.

During the meeting, Andrei Maksimov briefly spoke about St. Petersburg, which is one of the largest scientific and educational centers in Russia. It concentrates over ten percent of the country’s scientific potential, with more than 350 scientific organizations, including about 60 organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences and other state academies. The human resources potential of science and education in St. Petersburg exceeds 170,000 employees of scientific organizations and universities, including approximately 9,000 doctors of science and 26,000 candidates of science. Andrei Stanislavovich presented the work of KNVS in general and the interaction of St. Petersburg universities with universities in Venezuela, in particular.

Mr. Mujica began his speech by thanking Russia for supporting Venezuela in its fight against the aggressive policies of Western countries and expressing admiration for the courage and fortitude of the Russian people. He recalled that President Maduro had recently visited Russia, took part in events marking the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, and then visited St. Petersburg. Mr. Mujica also noted that Venezuela had adopted a program to develop cooperation with Russia in science and education. In accordance with this program, the number of students from this country in Russian universities should increase tenfold in the near future, from 200 to at least 2,000. A working group has been created at the Ministry to create an interuniversity university network of Venezuelan and Russian universities. It is planned to create joint programs and double degree programs. Priority areas of training are artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and new materials, agro-biotechnology, mining, etc. The issue of creating cultural and language centers in both Venezuela and Russia is also being worked on. The training of highly qualified personnel is also an urgent issue.

Vladimir Khizhnyak spoke about the Polytechnic University and suggested areas of cooperation. He noted that the university has students from Venezuela, but there are not many of them, and our institutes are ready to accept many more representatives of this country in numerous training programs, including in English. Summer and winter school programs may also be of interest to students from Venezuela. Joint supervision of postgraduate students, participation of leading professors in dissertation councils and in the “Visiting Professor” program are also a good start for cooperation.

Mr. Mujica responded positively to the proposal to visit the Polytechnic and conclude a cooperation agreement with the National Scientific University. It was opened recently and enjoys great support from the government of this country. He also noted that there are 25 polytechnic universities in Venezuela and he is ready to assist in establishing contacts with them. The country has adopted a 15-year program to support polytechnic universities.

Mr. Mujica noted that the people of Venezuela remember that back in 1786, their compatriot, the hero of the national liberation struggle Francisco Miranda arrived in Russia and spent almost a year traveling around it. Catherine II granted him the rank of colonel of the Russian army, and he also received a passport of our country. The Empress allocated Miranda a cash subsidy to fight the Spanish colonizers and ordered a military squadron to be sent to the shores of Venezuela. So the friendship between our countries has deep roots and the Ministry of Higher Education is ready to contribute to its strengthening in every possible way.
