The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

* Tornado Watch for portions of
Central and Northern Arkansas

* Effective this Saturday morning from 605 AM until NOON CDT.

* Primary threats include…
A couple tornadoes possible
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely
Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

SUMMARY…A line of intense thunderstorms over northwest Arkansas
and eastern Oklahoma will track eastward through the morning across
the watch area. Damaging winds along the leading edge of the storms
is the primary concern, although occasional tornadoes are also a
possibility.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles
north and south of a line from 50 miles west northwest of
Russellville AR to 40 miles east southeast of Batesville AR. For a

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

REMEMBER…A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
and possible warnings.
