MINSK, June 14 /Xinhua/ — Unmanned aerial vehicle troops have been created in Belarus. This was announced on Friday by Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko. The corresponding information was published by the press service of the Defense Ministry of Belarus on the same day.

“Currently, unmanned aerial vehicle troops have been created as an independent component of the special forces of the Armed Forces within the general structure,” P. Muraveiko noted in his report to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his visit to the 927th center for the training and use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to him, these troops are tasked with conducting aerial reconnaissance, inflicting fire damage on the enemy, guiding and adjusting fire, and performing support functions in the interests of other special forces. –0–
