Council of Ministers meeting on 9 October 2024
The Council of Ministers met at the Government Palace in Dili and decided to grant full powers to the Minister of Planning and Strategic Investment, Gastão Francisco de Sousa, to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, within the scope of development cooperation. The agreement is expected to be signed on October 11, during the official visit of Minister Gastão Francisco de Sousa to Jakarta.
This memorandum of understanding covers several areas of development cooperation, including building basic infrastructure, promoting affordable renewable energy, creating sustainable cities and communities, fostering agriculture and rural development, encouraging tourism, improving the health and education sectors, stimulating private sector investment, promoting digital development, social inclusion, and climate change mitigation efforts.
