Overview: Trade 350 App’s Mission and Vision

At its core, Trade 350 App was conceived to democratize high-frequency, algorithmic trading strategies—to bring hedge-fund-grade tools into the hands of everyday retail investors. The founding vision, articulated by CEO Samantha Lopez, was simple: “Empower individuals—novices and professionals alike—to trade confidently, safely, and profitably, without having to become quant wizards overnight.” By fusing machine-learning models with robust risk-management controls and a user-first design, Trade 350 did more than merely enter the market: it redefined expectations.

Key pillars of Trade 350’s mission include:

    • Accessibility: Ensuring that a minimum initial deposit ($250 USD) and transparent fee structure open the door for traders with limited capital.
    • Reliability: Providing consistently accurate trade signals, backed by 24/7 monitoring and continuous AI retraining.
    • Security: Adopting military-grade encryption, multi-factor authentication, and strict data-privacy protocols to safeguard user assets.
    • Education: Offering extensive learning resources—webinars, tutorials, and a dedicated knowledge base—to accelerate every user’s understanding of risk, strategy, and market dynamics.

How Trade 350’s AI Engine Drives Market-Beating Signals

At the heart of Trade 350 App lies a proprietary AI engine that continuously learns and evolves. Rather than relying on static, rule-based algorithms, Trade 350’s system employs a combination of supervised learning classifiers, unsupervised anomaly detection, and reinforcement-learning loops. Below is a breakdown of the engine’s core layers:

    1. Data Ingestion & Preprocessing
      • Live Price Feeds: Sub-second tick data on major forex pairs, cryptocurrency exchanges, commodity futures.
      • Economic Calendar: Automated ingestion of macroeconomic event schedules (central bank decisions, employment reports, CPI releases) from leading data providers.
      • Social Sentiment: Custom scraped sentiment scores from Twitter, Reddit, and specialized crypto-community forums; big-data processed via Apache Spark pipelines.
      • Historical Data Archive: 15+ years of minute- and hourly-bar data stored in columnar format; used for backtesting and model calibration.
    2. Feature Engineering & Pattern Recognition
      • Technical Indicators: 50+ pre-engineered indicators (moving averages, Bollinger Bands, RSI, MACD, Fibonacci retracements) automatically calculated per symbol.
      • Volatility Filters: Dynamic measures (e.g., ATR-based volatility) adjust stop-loss and take-profit levels based on current market turbulence.
      • Anomaly Detection: Unsupervised clustering identifies “flash crash” patterns or unnatural price spikes; system can automatically suspend signals ahead of low-liquidity events.
    3. Model Architecture
      • Classifier Ensembles: Random forest and gradient-boosted tree ensembles generate entry/exit probabilities for each trade.
      • LSTM & GRU Layers: Deep recurrent networks capture temporal dependencies, especially critical in high-frequency crypto markets.
      • Reinforcement Learning: Periodic “paper-trading” modules simulate thousands of episodes, allowing the AI to adjust reward functions based on cumulative drawdown and Sharpe ratio targets.
      • Continuous Retraining: Models retrain weekly, incorporating the most recent market data (ensuring the system adapts to shifting regimes, e.g., bull runs or sudden volatility escalations).
    4. Signal Scoring & Confidence Levels
      • Each generated signal is assigned a confidence score (0–100%).
      • Only signals above a user-defined threshold are delivered (e.g., 85% confidence or higher).
      • Real-time performance scoreboard evaluates the last 100 signals per asset class, tracking actual win-rate vs. predicted probabilities.

    Why this matters:
In an era when markets are influenced by split-second news developments, algorithms that cannot rapidly pivot to new data become obsolete. Trade 350’s layered approach—blending classical technical analysis with advanced NLP-driven sentiment models—enables it to identify high-probability setups that may elude manual traders. This fusion of big data, deep learning, and automated risk controls underpins Trade 350’s consistently strong performance track record.

Demo Mode: Risk-Free Practice Before Going Live

Recognizing that traders learn best by doing, Trade 350 prioritizes Demo Mode as a cornerstone feature. Unlike some competitors that limit demo accounts to 7–14 days, Trade 350’s Demo Mode remains active indefinitely. Key highlights:

    • Unlimited Duration: No expiration on the $10,000 virtual balance; transition to Live Mode at your own pace.
    • Identical Interface: Demo Mode reproduces the exact look and feel, data feeds, and AI signals of Live Mode—no surprises when switching to real capital.
    • Preset Risk Profile: The demo account uses a conservative baseline risk (1% of balance per trade) to show users how varying position sizes and stop-loss levels impact outcomes.
    • Real-Time Data: Market conditions in Demo Mode mirror Live Mode, including spreads, latency, and slippage (within reason).
    • Performance Dashboard:
      • P&L Ledger: Tracks every trade’s profit or loss.
      • Drawdown Metrics: Calculates peak-to-valley drawdowns to illustrate capital preservation.
      • Strategy Analyzer: Backtests demo trades against historical data to identify strengths and weaknesses in your risk settings.

    Why Demo Mode Matters:

    • Build Confidence: Users can test different strategies—scalping, swing trades, trend following—without risking a dollar.
    • Familiarize with AI Workflow: Understand how the system interprets confidence scores, positions, and risk recommendations.
    • Identify Emotional Triggers: By seeing what happens when you deviate from AI-recommended parameters (e.g., increasing trade size beyond recommended limit), traders learn discipline before risking real funds.

According to Trade 350’s Q1 2025 user survey:

“75% of new users spend at least one week in Demo Mode before funding their account. Of those who transition, 4 out of 5 report feeling fully prepared to follow AI signals without hesitation.”

Tailored Risk Management: Customization at Every Level

One of Trade 350’s defining features is its intuitive, highly customizable risk management panel. Users—whether ultra-conservative retirees or aggressive millennial traders—can dial in parameters that align with their individual comfort levels:

    1. Position Sizing Slider
      • Select a percentage of account equity for each trade (ranging from 0.1% up to 5%).
      • AI generates recommended position size based on recent equity, market volatility (ATR), and signal confidence.
      • Users can override suggested size if they wish, but an on-screen warning alerts them to increased risk.
    2. Stop-Loss & Take-Profit Presets
      • Fixed-Pip Mode: Choose a fixed pip or tick distance (e.g., 20 pips stop-loss, 40 pips take-profit).
      • Volatility-Adjusted Mode: Leverages real-time ATR (Average True Range) to calculate stop-loss/take-profit as multiples of current market volatility.
      • Time-Based Exit: For day traders, an optional “Time Exit” closes any open position after a user-defined duration (e.g., 4 hours), regardless of profit or loss.
    3. Daily Loss Limit
      • Set a maximum total loss threshold per 24-hour cycle (e.g., 3% of account equity).
      • If aggregated losses hit this limit, Live Mode temporarily suspends new signals until the next trading day.
      • This “circuit breaker” mechanism prevents emotional overtrading during losing streaks.
    4. Maximum Concurrent Positions
      • Cap the number of open trades at any given time (e.g., no more than 3 simultaneous Forex trades).
      • Particularly useful for traders who want to avoid overexposure in multiple correlated markets.
    5. Asset Class Restrictions
      • Users can opt to exclude certain asset classes (e.g., cryptocurrencies) from receiving signals.
      • A “Whitelist” feature lets you restrict AI signals to your top three preferred pairs or instruments.
    6. Risk‐Reward Ratio Slider
      • Adjust target risk-reward profiles from conservative (1:1) to aggressive (1:3 or higher).
      • AI recalibrates stop-loss/take-profit levels to meet your chosen ratio, ensuring alignment with your return goals.

    User Benefits:

    • Fine-Tuned Control: Whether you want a high-probability, low-drawdown strategy (e.g., 1% risk per trade, 1:1 reward) or higher-volatility approaches (e.g., 2.5% risk per trade, 1:3 reward), the platform accommodates your style.
    • Emotional Discipline: Predefined rules eliminate second-guessing. Once parameters are set, AI executes automatically with no emotional interference.
    • Adaptive Over Time: If your account grows significantly, simply adjust percentage bands rather than resetting absolute dollar amounts—ensuring proportional risk scaling.

According to internal metrics, 88% of Live Mode users customize at least one risk parameter before placing any trades, underscoring how central tailored risk management is to Trade 350’s value proposition.

    5. Regulatory & AML Compliance
      • Currently in the process of obtaining full licenses from:

    RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH FUTURES TRADING
Futures transactions involve high risk. The amount of the initial margin is low compared to the value of the futures contract, so that transactions are “leveraged” or “geared”. A relatively small market movement has a proportionately larger impact on the funds that you have deposited or have to pay: this can work both for you and against you. You may experience the total loss of the initial margin funds as well as any additional funds deposited in the system. If the market develops in a way that is contrary to your position or if margins are increased, you may be asked to pay significant additional funds at short notice to maintain your position. In this case it may also happen that your broker account is in the red and you thus have to make payments beyond the initial investment.
    RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH ELECTRONIC TRADING
Before you begin carrying out transactions with an electronic system, you should carefully review the rules and provisions of the stock exchange offering the system, or of the financial instruments listed that you intend to trade, as well as your broker’s conditions. Online trading has inherent risks due to system responses/reaction times and access times that may vary due to market conditions, system performance and other factors, and on which you have no influence. You should be aware of these additional risks in electronic trading before you carry out investment transactions.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: IMF Executive Board Concludes 2025 Article IV Consultation with Luxembourg

Source: IMF – News in Russian

    June 5, 2025

    • Luxembourg’s fundamentals remain strong and economic recovery is projected to slowly gain pace amidst external headwinds. Downside risks prevail in the short term.
    • Surprising on the upside, the fiscal balance improved to a surplus of 1 percent of GDP in 2024, boosted by one-off revenues. Given structurally high revenue volatility, prudent fiscal policy should be based on a more efficient use of fiscal space.
    • The financial sector is resilient, with well-capitalized and liquid banks. While the risks are manageable, the housing market, and other pockets of vulnerabilities should continue to be closely monitored.

Washington, DC: On May 30, 2025, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) concluded the 2025 Article IV Consultation[1] with Luxembourg, and considered and endorsed the staff appraisal without a meeting on a lapse-of-time basis.[2]

Luxembourg’s fundamentals remain strong, but its economic performance has been lackluster. Public debt is low and the 2024 FSAP found the financial sector sound and well-diversified. After contracting by 0.7 percent in 2023, GDP growth turned positive at 1 percent in 2024, mainly driven by public consumption. Private domestic demand though remained lackluster amidst tight financial conditions and a lack of confidence in the real estate sector. The labor market is cooling, following a sizeable increase in labor costs in past years. While the headline fiscal deficit showed a large improvement from one-off revenues, the underlying structural deficit has widened, reflecting a shift from temporary to permanent support. Financial conditions remain tight, and the financial cycle has not yet decisively turned. Despite some deterioration in asset quality, the financial sector remains resilient overall.

An economic recovery is projected to slowly gain pace amidst external headwinds. Growth is projected to increase to 1.6 percent in 2025 and accelerate in 2026–27 supported by improved confidence and a gradual recovery in external demand. The unwinding of labor hoarding and lingering uncertainty would weigh on job creation and unemployment is likely to rise in the near term, before slowly declining to its historical average. Inflation is projected to decline to about 2 percent in 2025 and stay at that level over the medium term. Downside risks prevail in the short term, with headwinds from weaker external demand and tighter and/or more volatile financial conditions triggered by trade policy uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and possibly higher interest rates for longer. Risks to growth are more balanced over the medium term, but fiscal risks are assessed to be high.

    Executive Board Assessment[3]

Luxembourg’s recent economic performance has been lackluster and a projected recovery faces headwinds. Anchored in strong economic fundamentals, the economy is expected to gradually recover from a protracted slowdown. Yet, the global situation is fluid, and there are risks of setbacks stemming from weaker external demand and higher financial market volatility, alongside domestic challenges in the real estate sector and the labor market. Moreover, productivity has been declining, and Luxembourg faces fiscal pressures and risks. While Luxembourg’s current external position is assessed to be substantially stronger than the level implied by medium-term fundamentals, the assessment is subject to several limitations. The country’s specific economic features—a small open economy with a global financial center and a large share of cross-border workers —make the external position subject to significant volatility. This, together with the long-term challenges due to aging costs, call for more prudent policies while incentivizing private sector investment.

Prudent fiscal policy calls for a more efficient use of fiscal space. For 2025, a less expansionary fiscal stance would have been welcome, given low fiscal multipliers and the need to make room for more private sector-led growth. There is scope for reviewing the effectiveness and targeting of current measures, while preserving possible savings from revenue overperformance or budget execution. The authorities’ medium-term expenditure path is broadly appropriate to accommodate future spending pressures, but should be underpinned by measures, which will require containing the growth of the wage bill, enhancing spending efficiency, and avoiding any further erosion of the tax base.

There is scope for increasing revenue resilience. Luxembourg’s revenue performance depends to a large extent on a concentrated and volatile revenue base. Tax reforms should thus aim at diversifying revenue sources. This will help reduce volatility and uncertainty of fiscal receipts.

Fiscal policies should be better anchored in a medium-term perspective. The public consultations on pension reform are welcome, as there is a need for early reforms, including reducing the generosity of benefits—the highest in Europe, increasing both the effective and statutory retirement ages, and a well-calibrated increase in contributions to minimize the negative impact on the labor market. Strengthening the medium-term fiscal framework would enhance policy predictability. The planned implementation of a national fiscal rule is welcome and should combine a debt anchor with a net spending ceiling that consider revenue uncertainty and allow appropriate flexibility. Additional reforms of the budgeting framework and strengthening of the fiscal council are necessary to make the new framework more effective.

Risks in the financial sector, while manageable, should continue to be closely monitored. The financial sector appears broadly resilient. However, persistent solvency and liquidity risks in the corporate sector—especially in real estate—and the potential impact of rising financial market volatility warrant close monitoring. The authorities should continue ensuring adequate provisioning, collateral valuation, and loss absorption capacity. At the same time, continued oversight of the large nonbank financial sector—notably pockets of liquidity mismatches and leverage—and a better understanding of the intermediation role of the OFI sector should be prioritized.

Macroprudential policy should remain agile. The current CCyB level is appropriate. Should the recovery firm up, the authorities should strengthen releasable capital buffers and address still elevated household indebtedness by introducing income-based measures in line with FSAP recommendations. In the event of continued credit pressure, some loosening of the CCyB could be envisaged. Capitalizing on the commendable progress in implementing the 2024 FSAP recommendations in the supervision of banks and investment funds, the authorities should strengthen the macroprudential policy framework.

Structural reforms are needed to boost private sector-led growth and sustain living standards. Wage indexation has become a key constraint on competitiveness, and more labor market flexibility is called for. The authorities should also aim at boosting productivity and containing the cost of living by streamlining the regulatory and administrative burden, removing barriers to entry in some sectors, and addressing housing and infrastructure supply bottlenecks. Efforts should continue to capitalize on the country’s comparative advantages in AI adoption and financial sector development while minimizing potential costs of the transition. Recent measures to enhance technology diffusion and ongoing upskilling programs are welcome.

  • MIL-OSI: Stamper Announces Proposed Brokered Private Placement of Subscription Receipts of BISP Exploration Inc.

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

Not for distribution to United States newswire services or for release publication, distribution or dissemination directly, or indirectly, in whole or in part, in or into the United States.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Stamper Oil & Gas Corp. (“Stamper” or the “Company”) (TSX-V: STMP) is pleased to announce that further to the Company’s press release dated May 14, 2025 announcing the entering into of an acquisition agreement dated May 12, 2025 with BISP Exploration Inc. (“BISP”) pursuant to which the Company will acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of BISP (the “Transaction”), BISP will undertake a “best efforts” brokered private placement of subscription receipts (the “Financing”).

In connection with the Transaction, BISP has engaged Ventum Financial Corp. (the “Lead Agent”) to act as lead agent and sole bookrunner (on its own behalf and on behalf of a syndicate of agents which may be formed, and collectively with the Lead Agent, the “Agents”) in connection with the Financing of up to 80,000,000 subscription receipts (the “Subscription Receipts”) at a price of $0.20 per Subscription Receipt (the “Offering Price”) to raise gross proceeds of up to $16 million (the “Escrowed Funds”), which will be held in escrow by Endeavor Trust Corporation (the “Subscription Receipt Agent”). BISP has granted to the Agents an over-allotment option, exercisable at any time prior to the Closing Date (as defined below), to offer up to an additional 15% of the Subscription Receipts at the Offering Price. The Subscription Receipts will be issued pursuant to a subscription receipt agreement (the “Subscription Receipt Agreement”) to be entered into among BISP, the Lead Agent, and the Subscription Receipt Agent. Upon satisfaction of the escrow release conditions, which will be further outlined in the Subscription Receipt Agreement and include, but not limited to, satisfaction of all conditions precedent of the Transaction, each Subscription Receipt will entitle the holder thereof, without payment of any additional consideration and without further action on the part of the holder thereof, to one unit of BISP (a “BISP Unit”), and the Escrowed Funds, together with any interest earned thereon, will be released to BISP. If the escrow release conditions are not satisfied or waived within six (6) months of the Closing Date, the Subscription Receipts will be cancelled, and the Escrowed Funds, together with any interest earned thereon, will be returned by the Subscription Receipt Agent to subscribers on a pro rata basis.

Each BISP Unit will consist of one common share in the capital of BISP (a “BISP Share”) and one-half (0.5) of one (1) common share purchase warrant of BISP (each whole warrant, a “BISP Warrant”). The BISP Shares and the BISP Warrants will then be exchanged for common shares of Stamper (on a post-Split (as defined herein) basis) (the “Resulting Issuer Shares”) and common share purchase warrants of Stamper (on a post-Split basis) (the “Resulting Issuer Warrants”), respectively, on a one-for-one basis. Each whole Resulting Issuer Warrant will be exercisable to purchase one post-Split Resulting Issuer Share at an exercise price of $0.35 for a period of 36 months from the closing date of Financing (the “Closing Date”). In connection with the Transaction, Stamper will subdivide the common shares in the capital of Stamper (the “Stamper Shares”) on the basis of 3.8 post-split Stamper Shares for each one (1) pre-split Stamper Share (the “Split”). All Stamper Shares issued in connection with the Transaction will be on a post-Split basis.

BISP will pay the Agents a cash commission equal to 7.0% of the gross proceeds of the Financing which shall be reduced to 2.0% with respect to any subscriptions received from subscribers on the president’s list provided by BISP, such president’s list to be a minimum of $10,000,000 and up to a maximum of $12,000,000 in the aggregate (the “President’s List”), and issue broker warrants (the “Broker Warrants”) exercisable to acquire that number of BISP Units equal to 7.0% of the number of Subscription Receipts sold under the Financing, which shall be reduced to 2.0% with respect to any subscriptions from subscribers on the President’s List. Such Broker Warrants shall be exercisable at a price of $0.20 per BISP Unit, for a period of 36 months from the Closing Date. BISP will pay to the Agents, on the completion of the Financing, the cash commission and issue the Broker Warrants to the Agents. Provided the escrow release conditions are satisfied, pursuant to the Transaction, each Broker Warrant will be exchanged for one broker warrant of the Resulting Issuer, which shall entitle the holder thereof to subscribe for post-Split Resulting Issuer units on the same terms as the BISP Units. BISP will also reimburse the Agents for all reasonable expenses and fees incurred with respect to the Financing. BISP will have the right to include on the President’s List subscribers that will purchase up to 60,000,000 Subscription Receipts at the Offering Price for gross proceeds of up to $12,000,000.

The Subscription Receipts will be subject to resale restrictions under applicable securities legislation. The Subscription Receipts will not be transferable under the laws of Canada, except pursuant to applicable statutory exemptions, until the date that is four months and a day after the date BISP becomes a reporting issuer in any province or territory of Canada. The Resulting Issuer Shares and the Resulting Issuer Warrants issuable upon the exchange of the BISP Shares and the BISP Warrants that are issued upon conversion of the Subscription Receipts will be freely tradeable for Canadian holders pursuant to applicable Canadian securities laws. The net proceeds of the Financing will primarily be used to fund the cash portion of the Transaction, fund exploration operations, to meet the working capital requirements of the Resulting Issuer, and for general corporate purposes.

  • MIL-OSI: Databricks and Noma Security Announce Partnership to Accelerate Enterprise AI Security

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

TEL AVIV, Israel, June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Noma Security, the unified AI security and governance platform, today announced a strategic partnership with Databricks, the Data and AI company, to address the challenge of balancing rapid enterprise AI innovation and adoption with robust AI security and governance.

Noma Security also announced today a strategic investment from Databricks Ventures. This investment comes after Noma Security launched from stealth with a $32M Series A funding round led by Ballistic Ventures and Glilot Partners.

“Many Databricks customers are already using Noma Security for security and governance across the AI lifecycle. The Noma Security platform directly addresses the AI security uncertainties that often hinder enterprise AI adoption,” said Andrew Ferguson, Vice President of Databricks Ventures. “Our partnership and investment underscore our commitment to equipping Databricks customers with trusted, secure AI solutions that accelerate innovation.”

The partnership integrates the Noma Security end-to-end AI security and governance platform directly into Databricks AI environments, creating a comprehensive solution that secures AI systems from initial development through production deployment. This integration helps Fortune 500 organizations accelerate AI adoption while maintaining security, compliance, and governance standards required by emerging regulations like the EU AI Act.

  • MIL-OSI: “AI 2.0 Has Arrived”: James Altucher Warns of Major U.S. AI Shift from Inside Musk’s New Supercomputer Facility

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

BALTIMORE, June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — In a newly released briefing, tech entrepreneur and bestselling author James Altucher reveals details of an advanced artificial intelligence project quietly developed by Elon Musk — with the backing of the U.S. government.

According to Altucher’s report, the U.S. has entered what he calls a “second wave” of artificial intelligence — and at the center of it is Project Colossus, a secretive facility operated by Musk’s xAI out of Memphis, Tennessee.

Unlike anything the public has seen before, Project Colossus is designed to scale beyond current AI tools and into a new phase Altucher refers to as Artificial Superintelligence — or AI 2.0.

    A Quiet Presidential Push

Altucher points to a key moment that set everything in motion: the repeal of Biden-era regulations on AI development.

“In one of his FIRST acts as President… Donald Trump overturned Executive Order #14110.”

The executive reversal, Altucher says, cleared the path for Musk to accelerate his most ambitious project yet.

    Inside Project Colossus

Altucher claims Musk’s supercomputer is already live, housed in a discreet facility loaded with more than 200,000 high-performance AI chips.

“Right here, inside this warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee… lies a massive supercomputer Musk calls ‘Project Colossus.’”

He also reports that further upgrades are coming within weeks — including the addition of next-generation hardware that could dramatically increase Colossus’ capabilities.

    From Chatbots to Conscious Machines?

According to Altucher, most people are still thinking in terms of consumer-facing AI — like ChatGPT. But this next generation, he says, is something entirely different.

“AI 2.0… gives that knowledge to intelligent machines that I believe will solve our problems for us.”

He warns that a major upgrade could be revealed as early as July 1, marking what he calls a “breakthrough moment” for American AI leadership.

  • MIL-OSI Economics: Global App Store helps developers reach new heights

    Source: Apple

Headline: Global App Store helps developers reach new heights

    June 5, 2025

    UPDATE

Global App Store helps developers reach new heights, supporting $1.3 trillion in billings and sales in 2024

For more than 90 percent of the billings and sales facilitated by the App Store ecosystem, developers did not pay any commission to Apple

Apple today announced the global App Store ecosystem facilitated $1.3 trillion in developer billings and sales in 2024, according to a new study by economists Professor Andrey Fradkin from Boston University Questrom School of Business and Dr. Jessica Burley from Analysis Group. For more than 90 percent of the billings and sales facilitated by the App Store ecosystem, developers did not pay any commission to Apple.

“It’s incredible to see so many developers design great apps, build successful businesses, and reach Apple users around the world,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “This report is a testament to the many ways developers are enriching people’s lives with app and game experiences, while creating opportunity and driving new innovations. We’re proud to support their success.”

Developers Experience Global Growth Across the App Store

The new study by Professor Fradkin and Dr. Burley highlights how developers on the App Store have more ways than ever to monetize their apps. The study found that in 2024, developer billings and sales for digital goods and services totaled $131 billion, driven by games, photo and video editing apps, and enterprise tools. Sales of physical goods and services exceeded $1 trillion, fueled by rising demand for online food delivery and pickup, as well as grocery orders. In-app advertising revenue from ads placed by developers in their apps was $150 billion.

Since 2019, spending across all three categories — digital goods and services, physical goods and services, and in-app advertising — has more than doubled. Physical goods and services experienced the strongest growth (+2.6x), driven in particular by rapid increases in food delivery and pickup, and grocery spending. Growth in digital goods and services reflects continued demand for games and increased spending on apps that support content creation, such as photo and video editing apps. Meanwhile, in-app advertising has helped keep many apps free or low-cost for users. And the App Store continues to be a global launchpad for innovation, with AI-powered apps increasingly shaping users’ daily lives.

Regional Growth Trends Around the World

The App Store’s engine of commerce provides developers with a global distribution platform that allows them to reach users around the world, attracting over 813 million average weekly visitors worldwide. The study found that over the last five years in particular, billings and sales facilitated by the App Store ecosystem more than doubled in the U.S., China, and Europe. Spending on digital goods and services, physical goods and services, and in-app advertising grew across all regions during that period.

Digital payment spending grew over seven-fold in the U.S. since 2019 as mobile payments have become commonplace. In China, e-commerce marketplaces expanded substantially and online grocery spending grew over five-fold since 2019. Food delivery and pickup spending more than tripled in Europe, outpacing the growth in already popular categories like general retail and travel. In Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and India, travel apps were major spending categories.

In the last five years, user spending on apps that support digital content creation have seen a steady increase. As a result, photo and video editing apps like Adobe creative tools have found tremendous success and have increasingly introduced new features to empower creative professionals, creators, and hobbyists. Earlier this year, Adobe introduced a new Photoshop app on iPhone designed for image and design enthusiasts with an easy-to-use mobile interface. Adobe Lightroom was also recognized as Apple’s 2024 Mac App of the Year as part of the App Store Awards for its high-quality photo editing and powerful AI-powered editing advancements on Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

    Apple’s Investment in Developers

Apple invests in tools and capabilities that make it easier for developers to distribute their apps and games, be discovered by users around the globe, and grow successful businesses. For example, the App Store’s commerce system supports developers with more than 40 local currencies and provides seamless tax handling in nearly 200 regions, while enabling developers to set prices, manage subscriptions, and more.

Developers also benefit from a suite of tools and technologies — including services to develop and test their apps through Xcode and TestFlight, monitor app performance and benchmarks through App Analytics, and improve performance with tools like Product Page Optimization — along with opportunities and resources to promote their app. At the same time, Apple’s integrated payment system helps protect users from fraud and abuse; in the last five years, the App Store has protected users by preventing over $9 billion in fraudulent transactions.

Apple also offers developers a variety of online and in-person programs to empower them to elevate their apps, including Meet with Apple sessions, appointments, and labs, and 24/7 access to Apple Support via phone and email in nine languages. Apple Developer Centers in the U.S., China, India, and Singapore have hosted tens of thousands of developers in the last year. The centers serve as home to year-round activities, offering supportive environments for teams to improve their apps through more than 250,000 APIs, including as part of frameworks such as HealthKit, Metal, Core ML, MapKit, and SwiftUI.

Through a full, free curriculum for future professional developers, Apple Developer Academies in Brazil, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, and the U.S. help students build foundational skills in coding, AI, design, and marketing. Separately, more than 20 Apple Foundation Programs provide students of all levels with the fundamentals of app development through four-week intensive courses that are available across Apple’s 18 developer academies around the world.

Resources like Pathways and Apple Developer Forums are available to better connect developers within the community and help them easily access tools, documentation, and videos to create their best products on Apple’s platforms. Developers can share feedback, request enhancements, or report bugs at any time with the Feedback Assistant app or on the web.

Next week during Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference, developers from every part of the globe will have free access to more than 100 technical sessions, diving deep into the latest technologies and frameworks with Apple experts. Developers will also be able to access guides and documentation that can help walk them through the conference’s biggest announcements and stay up to date with the conference across the Apple Developer website, app, YouTube channel and Apple Developer WeChat. Apple Developer Program members and Apple Developer Enterprise Program members will also have a chance to connect directly with Apple experts through online group labs and one-on-one lab appointments.

  • MIL-OSI Global: A neuroscientist explains why it’s impossible for AI to ‘understand’ language

Source: The Conversation – Canada – By Veena D. Dwivedi, Director – Centre for Neuroscience; Professor – Psychology | Neuroscience, Brock University

Language that refers to neural networks in AI is misleading. (Shutterstock)

As meaning-makers, we use spoken or signed language to understand our experiences in the world around us. The emergence of generative artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT (using large language models) call into question the very notion of how to define “meaning.”

One popular characterization of AI tools is that they “understand” what they are doing. Nobel laureate and AI pioneer Geoffrey Hinton said: “What’s really surprised me is how good neural networks are at understanding natural language — that happened much faster than I thought…. And I’m still amazed that they really do understand what they’re saying.”

Hinton repeated this claim in an interview with Adam Smith, chief scientific officer for Nobel Prize Outreach. In it, Hinton stated that “neural nets are much better at processing language than anything ever produced by the Chomskyan school of linguistics.”

Chomskyan linguistics refers to American linguist Noam Chomsky’s theories about the nature of human language and its development. Chomsky proposes that there is a universal grammar innate in humans, which allows for the acquisition of any language from birth.

I’ve been researching how humans understand language since the 1990s, including more than 20 years of studies on the neuroscience of language. This has included measuring brainwave activity as people read or listen to sentences. Given my experience, I have to respectfully disagree with the idea that AI can “understand” — despite the growing popularity of this belief.

Geoffrey Hinton’s response to receiving the Nobel prize in physics for his work in AI.

    Generating text

First, it’s unfortunate that most people conflate text on a screen with natural language. Written text is related to — but not the same thing as — language.

For example, the same language can be represented by vastly different visual symbols. Look at Hindi and Urdu, for instance. At conversational levels, these are mutually intelligible and therefore considered the same language by linguists. However, they use entirely different writing scripts. The same is true for Serbian and Croatian. Written text is not the same thing as “language.”

Next let’s take a look at the claim that machine learning algorithms “understand” natural language. Linguistic communication mostly happens face-to-face, in a particular environmental context shared between the speaker and listener, alongside cues such as spoken tone and pitch, eye contact and facial and emotional expressions.

    The importance of context

There is a lot more to understanding what a person is saying than merely being able to comprehend their words. Even babies, who are not experts in language yet, can comprehend context cues.

Take, for example, the simple sentence: “I’m pregnant,” and its interpretations in different contexts. If uttered by me, at my age, it’s likely my husband would drop dead with disbelief. Compare that level of understanding and response to a teenager telling her boyfriend about an unplanned pregnancy, or a wife telling her husband the news after years of fertility treatments.

In each case, the message recipient ascribes a different sort of meaning — and understanding — to the very same sentence.

In my own recent research, I have shown that even an individual’s emotional state can alter brainwave patterns when processing the meaning of a sentence. Our brains (and thus our thoughts and mental processes) are never without emotional context, as other neuroscientists have also pointed out.

So, while some computer code can respond to human language in the form of text, it does not come close to capturing what humans — and their brains — accomplish in their understanding.

It’s worth remembering that when workers in AI talk about neural networks, they mean computer algorithms, not the actual, biological brain networks that characterize brain structure and function. Imagine constantly confusing the word “flight” (as in birds migrating) versus “flight” (as in airline routes) — this could lead to some serious misunderstandings!

Finally, let’s examine the claim about neural networks processing language better than theories produced by Chomskyan linguistics. This field assumes that all human languages can be understood via grammatical systems (in addition to context), and that these systems are related to some universal grammar.

Chomsky conducted research on syntactic theory as a paper-and-pencil theoretician. He did not conduct experiments on the psychological or neural bases of language comprehension. His ideas in linguistics are absolutely silent on the mechanisms underlying sentence processing and understanding.

What the Chomskyan school of linguistics does do, however, is ask questions about how human infants and toddlers can learn language with such ease, barring any neurobiological deficits or physical trauma.

There are at least 7,000 languages on the planet, and no one gets to pick where they are born. That means the human brain must be ready to comprehend and learn the language of their community at birth.

Regardless of where a child is born, the human brain is capable of acquiring any language.
    (Unsplash/tommao wang), CC BY

From this fact about language development, Chomsky posited an (abstract) innate module for language learning — not processing. From a neurobiological standpoint, the brain has to be ready to understand language from birth.

While there are plenty of examples of language specialization in infants, the precise neural mechanisms are still unknown, but not unknowable. But objects of study become unknowable when scientific terms are misused or misapplied. And this is precisely the danger: conflating AI with human understanding can lead to dangerous consequences.

Veena D. Dwivedi receives funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and Brock University.

  • MIL-OSI: Dangerous Blind Spots Costing Enterprises Time, Trust, and Agility Exposed in Check Point’s 2025 Cloud Security Report

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a pioneer and global leader of cyber security solutions, today released its 2025 Cloud Security Report. Based on a global survey of more than 900 CISOs and IT leaders, the report reveals systemic weaknesses, including alert fatigue, fragmented toolsets, and a widespread inability for organizations to detect lateral movement or defend against AI-driven attacks leaving enterprises dangerously exposed. The findings also include actionable strategies for closing the gap between cloud innovation and cyber resilience.

As hybrid, multi-cloud, and edge architectures expand, many organizations are relying on outdated security models that can’t keep up. According to the report, 65% of organizations experienced a cloud-related security incident in the past year—up from 61% the previous year. Alarmingly, only 9% detected the incident within the first hour, and a mere 6% managed to remediate it within that time frame, allowing intruders to remain undetected across cloud environments.

“Security teams are chasing an ever-moving target,” said Paul Barbosa, VP of Cloud Security at Check Point Software Technologies. “As cloud environments grow more complex and AI-driven threats evolve, organizations can’t afford to be stuck with fragmented tools and legacy approaches. It’s time to shift toward unified, intelligent, and automated defenses designed for the realities of today’s decentralized world.”

Key findings from the 2025 Cloud Security Report include:

    • Cloud Adoption Outpaces Security Readiness: 62% of organizations have adopted cloud edge technologies, 57% use hybrid cloud, and 51% operate in multi-cloud environments. Legacy, perimeter-based defenses can’t keep up with these distributed infrastructures
    • Detection and Remediation Are Too Slow: Only 9% of organizations detected an incident within the first hour. Meanwhile, 62% took more than 24 hours to remediate breaches—giving attackers ample time to escalate access
    • Tool Sprawl is Fueling Alert Fatigue: A significant 71% of respondents rely on over 10 different cloud security tools, while 16% utilize more than 50. More than half of them face nearly 500 alerts daily hindering response times and overwhelming analysts
    • Application Security Lags Behind: 61% still rely on outdated, signature-based Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), which are increasingly ineffective against sophisticated, AI-enhanced threats
    • AI is a Priority — but Defenders Aren’t Ready: While 68% list AI as a top priority for cyber defense, only 25% feel prepared to counter AI-driven attacks, highlighting a critical capability gap
    • Lateral Movement Remains a Blind Spot: Only 17% of organizations have full visibility into east-west cloud traffic. Once attackers breach the perimeter, they can move undetected within cloud environments
    • Detection Often Comes from People, Not Tools: Only 35% of cloud incidents were detected via security monitoring platforms. The majority were identified through employees, audits, or external reports—revealing alarming gaps in real-time threat detection
    • Internal Challenges Undermine Progress: 54% cite the pace of technological change as a major hurdle, while 49% face a shortage of skilled security professionals. Tool fragmentation and poor platform integration (40%) further slow response times and exacerbate blind spots

To close these gaps, Check Point recommends a shift toward decentralized, prevention-first cloud security strategies. The report advises organizations to consolidate their toolsets, adopt AI-powered threat detection, and deploy real-time telemetry to gain full visibility across edge, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments. By leveraging Check Point CloudGuard and the Check Point Infinity Platform, organizations can unify their cloud defenses, automate incident response, and ensure consistent policy enforcement—regardless of platform or provider.

Deryck Mitchelson, Global CISO at Check Point Software Technologies provides guidance within the 2025 cloud security report and emphasizes that, “cloud transformation is accelerating faster than our defenses. With attackers moving in minutes and defenders responding in days, the gap between detection and remediation is becoming a danger zone. CISOs must consolidate fragmented tools into unified platforms, gain visibility into lateral movement, and prepare their teams and technologies to counter AI-driven threats, or risk ceding control of the cloud to increasingly sophisticated adversaries.”

  • MIL-OSI: Progress Software Unveils Powerful New ShareFile Features for Accountants to Automate Administrative Tasks and Deliver a Great Client Experience

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

AI-powered document insights, client mobile app and unified client hub help firms work faster and better

BURLINGTON, Mass., June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Progress Software (Nasdaq: PRGS), the trusted provider of AI-powered digital experience and infrastructure software, today announced significant new enhancements to Progress® ShareFile®, its SaaS-native document-based collaboration and client workflow product. Designed for accounting professionals, these enhancements cut friction, elevate client interactions and give firms a competitive edge.

With staffing shortages and client expectations on the rise, many accounting firms are struggling to keep pace, especially when administrative burdens reduce time for strategic advisory services. The latest ShareFile product enhancements directly address these pressures by providing AI-powered document insights, centralizing client interactions, automating repetitive tasks and simplifying workflows. With these new AI-powered capabilities, accounting firms can cut up to 4.25 hours off each tax engagement and extract key insights from financial documents up to 96% faster—enabling them to serve more clients, more effectively, without increasing headcount.

“ShareFile is helping accounting professionals spend less time on administrative work and more time delivering value to their clients,” said Loren Jarrett, EVP & GM, Digital Experience, Progress Software. “For example, Strategic Treasurer has saved over 1,000 hours a year by consolidating their e-signature processes to ShareFile. From faster client onboarding to automated tax workflows, these features reflect our commitment to enabling firms to work smarter and better with AI-powered tools.”

    These key enhancements provide:

    • Streamlined client management: The new client hub (beta) provides a centralized view of client information, files, folders and projects—streamlining client management and simplifying day-to-day work. Whether managing a single client or an entire organization, firms gain quick access to the details they need to move work forward.
    • Accelerated time to insights: Firms can bypass manual reviews of financial documents and focus on higher-level, revenue-driving work. The AI document assistant transforms lengthy documents into clear, actionable insights with just one click or question. Key details are extracted instantly, reducing time spent on document review and enhancing decision-making.
    • Unified client interactions: Accounting firms can manage client tax engagements from start to finish within the ShareFile product. The upgraded income tax return solution now includes enhanced client onboarding workflows that allow firms to create multiple engagements in bulk to accelerate onboarding, making it easy to initiate service for numerous clients at once.
    • Improved client response time: Available for both iOS and Android, the new ShareFile for Clients mobile app (beta) gives clients an easy, secure way to stay engaged on the go. Clients can view and complete tasks, upload and scan documents and track service status—all from their mobile devices. This helps improve responsiveness and keep engagements on schedule.

“I think the client hub is a really impressive tool—it genuinely makes things easier,” said Faisal Farah, Managing Director of Numerical CPA Professional Corporation. “Being able to see all client documents in one place and request what I need directly from there is a huge time-saver. It has the potential to be a very valuable part of our workflow.”

Unlike fragmented tools that only solve part of the problem, ShareFile brings together client touchpoints in a single product. With built-in AI-powered workflows, firms can analyze financial documents faster, reduce client turnaround times and eliminate manual follow-ups—freeing staff to focus on high-value, advisory work.

Progress will showcase the latest ShareFile product innovations at AICPA ENGAGE 2025, June 9–12, 2025, in Las Vegas. Attendees can experience hands-on demos and learn how thousands of accounting professionals are transforming their firms with the ShareFile product.

  • MIL-OSI: KraneShares Launches First Global Humanoid & Embodied Intelligence ETF (Ticker: KOID) On Nasdaq

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

NEW YORK, June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Krane Funds Advisors, LLC (“KraneShares”), an asset management firm known for its global exchange-traded funds (ETFs), announced the launch of the KraneShares Global Humanoid and Embodied Intelligence Index ETF (Ticker: KOID). KOID represents the first US-listed thematic equity ETF that captures the global humanoid opportunity.1

Thanks to breakthroughs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, advanced materials, and robotics manufacturing, commercial and retail applications of humanoid robotics and embodied intelligence are now a reality. Humanoid robots—including Tesla’s Optimus, Figure AI, and Unitree—are already demonstrating impressive performance in human tasks, including in both factory and home settings. The Morgan Stanley Global Humanoid Model projects there could be 1 billion humanoids and $5 trillion in annual revenue by 2050.2

KOID seeks to capture the global humanoid and embodied intelligence ecosystem, which refers to AI systems integrated into physical machines that can sense, learn, and interact with the real world. Humanoid robotics, a key subset of embodied intelligence, focuses on robots with human-like forms and capabilities designed to work seamlessly in environments built for people, like factories, hospitals, and homes. The acceleration of bringing robots to the commercial and retail markets stems from the need to address urgent global challenges like labor shortages, aging populations, and greater efficiency and safety across industries.

“Soon, the cost of a humanoid robot could be less than a car3,” said KraneShares Senior Investment Strategist Derek Yan, CFA. “We see compelling investment opportunities among the humanoid enablers and supply-chain partners that will bring humanoid robots into our daily lives at scale.”

Unlike legacy robotics‐focused ETFs, KOID focuses exclusively on humanoid robotics and embodied AI, positioning itself at the forefront of the next generation of robotics innovation. KOID aims to capture the full spectrum of enabling technologies that form the foundation of humanoid development, including humanoid integration & manufacturing, mechanical systems, sensing & perception, actuation systems (the “muscle” of the robot), semiconductors & technology, and critical materials. KOID offers global exposure to companies based primarily in the United States, China, and Japan within the information technology, industrial, and consumer discretionary sectors.

“We are excited to bring the Humanoid opportunity to global investors through KOID, the latest addition to our suite of innovative global thematic ETFs,” said KraneShares CEO Jonathan Krane. “At KraneShares, our core goal is to launch strategies like KOID to capture emerging megatrends, giving our clients access to powerful growth opportunities as they accelerate.”

The KOID ETF will track the MerQube Global Humanoid and Embodied Intelligence Index, which is designed to capture the performance of companies engaged in humanoid and embodied intelligence-related business.

Carefully consider the Funds’ investment objectives, risk factors, charges and expenses before investing. This and additional information can be found in the Funds’ full and summary prospectus, which may be obtained by visiting https://kraneshares.com/koid. Read the prospectus carefully before investing.

    Risk Disclosures:

Investing involves risk, including possible loss of principal. There can be no assurance that a Fund will achieve its stated objectives. Indices are unmanaged and do not include the effect of fees. One cannot invest directly in an index.

This information should not be relied upon as research, investment advice, or a recommendation regarding any products, strategies, or any security in particular. This material is strictly for illustrative, educational, or informational purposes and is subject to change. Certain content represents an assessment of the market environment at a specific time and is not intended to be a forecast of future events or a guarantee of future results; material is as of the dates noted and is subject to change without notice.

Humanoid and embedded intelligence technology companies often face high research and capital costs, resulting in variable profitability in a competitive market where products can quickly become obsolete. Their reliance on intellectual property makes them vulnerable to losses, while legal and regulatory changes can impact profitability. Defining these companies can be complex, and some may risk commercial failure. They are also affected by global scientific developments, leading to rapid obsolescence, and may be subject to government regulations. Many companies in which the Fund invests may not currently be profitable, with no guarantee of future success.

A-Shares are issued by companies in mainland China and traded on local exchanges. They are available to domestic and certain foreign investors, including QFIs and those participating in Stock Connect Programs like Shanghai-Hong Kong and Shenzhen-Hong Kong. Foreign investments in A-Shares face various regulations and restrictions, including limits on asset repatriation. A-Shares may experience frequent trading halts and illiquidity, which can lead to volatility in the Fund’s share price and increased trading halt risks. The Chinese economy is an emerging market, vulnerable to domestic and regional economic and political changes, often showing more volatility than developed markets. Companies face risks from potential government interventions, and the export-driven economy is sensitive to downturns in key trading partners, impacting the Fund. U.S.-China tensions raise concerns over tariffs and trade restrictions, which could harm China’s exports and the Fund. China’s regulatory standards are less stringent than in the U.S., resulting in limited information about issuers. Tax laws are unclear and subject to change, potentially impacting the Fund and leading to unexpected liabilities for foreign investors. Fluctuations in currency of foreign countries may have an adverse effect to domestic currency values.

The Japanese economy depends heavily on international trade and is vulnerable to economic, political, and social instability, which could affect the Fund. The yen is volatile, influenced by fluctuations in Asia, and has historically shown unpredictable movements against the U.S. dollar. Natural disasters, such as earthquakes and tidal waves, also pose risks. Furthermore, government intervention and an unstable financial services sector can negatively impact the economy, which relies significantly on trade with developing nations in East and Southeast Asia.

The Fund invests in non-U.S. securities, which can be less liquid and subject to weaker regulatory oversight compared to U.S. securities. Risks include currency fluctuations, political or economic instability, incomplete financial disclosure, and potential taxes or nationalization of holdings. Foreign trading hours and settlement processes may also limit the Fund’s ability to trade, and different accounting standards can add complexity. Suspensions of foreign securities may adversely impact the Fund, and delays in settlement or holidays may hinder asset liquidation, increasing the risk of loss.

The Fund may invest in derivatives, which are often more volatile than other investments and may magnify the Fund’s gains or losses. A derivative (i.e., futures/forward contracts, swaps, and options) is a contract that derives its value from the performance of an underlying asset. The primary risk of derivatives is that changes in the asset’s market value and the derivative may not be proportionate, and some derivatives can have the potential for unlimited losses. Derivatives are also subject to liquidity and counterparty risk. The Fund is subject to liquidity risk, meaning that certain investments may become difficult to purchase or sell at a reasonable time and price. If a transaction for these securities is large, it may not be possible to initiate, which may cause the Fund to suffer losses. Counterparty risk is the risk of loss in the event that the counterparty to an agreement fails to make required payments or otherwise comply with the terms of the derivative.

Large capitalization companies may struggle to adapt fast, impacting their growth compared to smaller firms, especially in expansive times. This could result in lower stock returns than investing in smaller and mid-sized companies. In addition to the normal risks associated with investing, investments in smaller companies typically exhibit higher volatility.

A large number of shares of the Fund is held by a single shareholder or a small group of shareholders. Redemptions from these shareholder can harm Fund performance, especially in declining markets, leading to forced sales at disadvantageous prices, increased costs, and adverse tax effects for remaining shareholders.

The Fund is new and does not yet have a significant number of shares outstanding. If the Fund does not grow in size, it will be at greater risk than larger funds of wider bid-ask spreads for its shares, trading at a greater premium or discount to NAV, liquidation and/or a trading halt. Narrowly focused investments typically exhibit higher volatility. The Fund’s assets are expected to be concentrated in a sector, industry, market, or group of concentrations to the extent that the Underlying Index has such concentrations. The securities or futures in that concentration could react similarly to market developments. Thus, the Fund is subject to loss due to adverse occurrences that affect that concentration. KOID is non-diversified.

  • MIL-OSI: Cloudera Joins AI-RAN Alliance to Drive Real-Time Data Innovation and AI-Native Telecommunications

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cloudera, the only true hybrid platform for data, analytics and AI, today announced it has joined the AI-RAN Alliance, a global consortium committed to integrating AI into telecommunications infrastructure. Cloudera joins a pioneering group of innovative telecommunication providers that has joined forces with data and AI companies all focused on driving the AI-RAN agenda and transforming telecommunication networks into intelligent, revenue-generating platforms with real-time data and AI.

As telecommunication providers race to optimize the cost of network operations through virtualization and next generation infrastructure and architectures, AI provides a unique opportunity. AI drives better business outcomes through network service efficiency while at the same time opening up significant opportunities for services innovation. The complexity of deploying AI across distributed edge environments is not trivial and telecommunication providers will have to drive strategic enterprise-wide efforts to operationalize AI at scale across the radio access network (RAN) to unlock its full commercial potential.

The AI-RAN Alliance—which counts NVIDIA as a founding member and Dell, SoftBank, T-Mobile, KT and LG U+ as members—was created to solve these issues while driving innovation at the intersection of AI and telecommunications. Together, the AI-RAN Alliance members are standardizing the integration of AI into existing and new networks, enabling shared infrastructure for AI optimization, accelerating the development of edge AI applications, and establishing real-world proof points to help telecommunications deploy AI reliably and profitably.

As a recognized leader in enterprise AI and modern data architecture, Cloudera brings a powerful combination of scalable data management, edge-to-AI orchestration, and an open-source-first approach that complements the AI-RAN Alliance’s mission. Cloudera is uniquely positioned to enable telecommunication providers to deploy, manage, and scale AI workloads across hybrid, edge, and on-premises environments.

As the newest member of the AI-RAN Alliance, Cloudera will:

    • Participate in the new ‘Data for AI-RAN’ working group, aimed at standardizing data orchestration, LLM-driven network automation, and hybrid-enabled MLOps across telecommunications and AI workloads. Cloudera’s involvement will bring data and AI platform expertise to the AI-RAN Alliance, and help align data and AI pipelines with telecom operational needs—unlocking faster innovation and deployment of AI-native use cases.
    • Support the AI-RAN Alliance’s three core objectives, including AI-for-RAN, AI-and-RAN, and AI-on-RAN.
    • Accelerate real-world AI use cases with AI-RAN Alliance members to pilot and deploy AI applications, such as SLA-driven network availability and real-time anomaly detection. This includes building and validating reference architectures that telecommunications operators can deploy against in live environments, shortening the path from innovation to implementation, and maximizing model reusability and collaboration.
    • Leverage the Cloudera platform to demonstrate real-time decision-making at the edge, enabling scalable training data preparation/MLOps, and operationalizing AI inference at scale while ensuring governance, observability, and edge-to-core orchestration.

“Cloudera is proud to bring its data and AI expertise to the AI-RAN Alliance. The network is the heart of the telecom business, both in driving margin growth and in service transformation, and AI can unlock substantial value across those dimensions,” said Abhas Ricky, Chief Strategy Officer at Cloudera. “Given our leadership in the domain — having powered data and AI automation strategies for hundreds of telecommunications providers around the world, we now look forward to accelerating innovation alongside fellow AI-RAN Alliance members, and bringing our customers along. Our goal is to help define the data standards, orchestration models, and reference architectures that will power intelligent, adaptive, and AI-native networks of the future.”

“We are proud to collaborate with Cloudera and fellow AI-RAN Alliance members in the ‘Data for AI-RAN’ working group,” said Jemin Chung, VP Network Strategy, KT. “As AI becomes increasingly central to next-generation networks, the ability to harness data securely and at scale will be a key differentiator. Through this initiative, we look forward to defining best practices that enable AI-centric RAN evolution and improve operational intelligence.”

“Cloudera is an incredible addition to the AI-RAN Alliance, which has grown rapidly as demand for improved AI access and success increases across the industry,” said Dr. Alex Jinsung Choi, Principal Fellow, SoftBank’s Research Institute of Advanced Technology, and Chair of the AI-RAN Alliance. “The company’s leadership in data and AI, combined with their extensive telecommunications footprint, will play a vital role in advancing our shared vision of intelligent, AI-native networks.”

  • MIL-OSI Africa: Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) Champions Shift of $4 Trillion in Domestic Savings into Africa’s Infrastructure Transformation

Source: Africa Press Organisation – English (2) – Report:

    LAGOS, Nigeria, June 5, 2025/APO Group/ —

    • Clarion call for scaling electricity generation and transmission to drive structural economic transformation
    • Installed power capacity per capita stagnated in Africa vs. doubling in India since 2008
    • Africa’s railway expansion is gaining speed with 7,000 km of new track investments poised to double growth in the next decade
    • Africa’s rising supply of strategic resources such as iron ore requires a unified continental approach to integrate production, processing and demand centres for steel

Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) (www.AfricaFC.org ), the continent’s leading infrastructure solutions provider, today publishes the most comprehensive and up-to-date picture of Africa’s investable capital landscape—revealing over $4 trillion of domestic savings in banking assets, institutional funds and reserves.

    Download report: https://apo-opa.co/4kWVdwh

The research in the 2025 edition of the State of Africa’s Infrastructure (SAI) Report underscores AFC’s conviction in the capacity for African-led investment as the foundation for scaling provision of power, transportation and industrialisation across the continent.

Specifically, the SAI Report provides a conservative estimate of over $1.1 trillion in long-term institutional capital from pensions, insurance, sovereign wealth funds, and public development banks, along with $2.5 trillion in commercial banking assets and over $470 billion in central bank reserves.

Despite the scale of these resources, most investments are allocated to low-risk and short-term instruments rather than being channelled into the real economy. AFC’s report calls for targeted policy reforms, financial innovation, increased use of risk-mitigation tools, and the creation of financial structures—such as pooled funds or investment platforms—to reposition African institutions at the heart of the continent’s infrastructure transformation.

    Thinking Bigger

As part of the process of identifying investment opportunities, the SAI Report seeks to shift Africa’s energy narrative—from small-scale access to large-scale, interconnected power systems capable of driving industrialisation, digital sovereignty, and climate resilience.

Under-investment in African energy is stark. In 2024, Africa added just 6.5 GW of grid-connected capacity from all sources—compared to over 18 GW from renewables alone in India. Installed power generation per person has stagnated in Africa while more than doubling in India since 2008, highlighting the widening gap in energy access and industrial potential.

The report further advocates for regional grid integration and private sector participation in electricity transmission, noting that Africa—in contrast to other developing regions—has yet to see a single independent transmission project. AFC identifies Angola, DRC, Tanzania, and Mauritania as key interconnector markets that could enable countries with excess generation capacity to supply power to those facing deficits—linking multiple power pools and balancing electricity flows across borders.

    Rail Renaissance

In contrast to the under-investment in energy, the SAI Report spotlights the emergence of a new rail infrastructure cycle, signaling renewed momentum across Africa’s transport landscape. From east to west and southern Africa, a growing pipeline of railway projects—public and private—is reversing decades of neglect and disrepair.

Under-construction and planned lines total over 7,000 km, potentially doubling the pace of rail expansion in the decade ahead.

To showcase this renaissance, AFC has launched the first-ever Digital Map of African Railways (https://apo-opa.co/3ZhLHLT)—a dynamic, interactive platform that provides real-time insights into the continent’s rail corridors. The tool aims to enhance project visibility, foster investor interest, and support coordination along key transport and trade corridors.

    Industrial Value Chains

The report further identifies steel, fertilizers and oil refining as Africa’s three most important strategic industrial inputs—currently dominated by some $300bn of annual imports but ripe for domestic value addition.

As a result of local production shortfalls, Africa currently consumes just 24 kg of steel per capita, compared to a global average of 219 kg, and 23 kg of fertilizer per hectare, versus 140 globally. Notably, the ore-to-steel supply chain represents a major untapped industrial opportunity—but realising its potential will require connecting expanding iron ore supply centres in West Africa with processing hubs and growing consumption markets across the continent.

AFC calls for coordinated investment in energy, transport, and logistics to unlock competitiveness in these sectors and anchor regional production hubs.

Commenting on the findings, Samaila Zubairu, President & CEO of Africa Finance Corporation, said: “This report provides a practical roadmap for how Africa can channel its significant financial strength into the infrastructure needed to drive industrial transformation—from scaling electricity supply to revitalising rail and building up strategic industries like steel and fertilisers. The tools exist. The capital is available. What’s needed now is coordinated action to unlock it.”

  • MIL-OSI Global: How your electric bill may be paying for big data centers’ energy use

Source: The Conversation – USA – By Ari Peskoe, Lecturer on Law, Harvard University

Your power bill may be hiding something. photoschmidt/iStock/Getty Images Plus

In the race to develop artificial intelligence, large technology companies such as Google and Meta are trying to secure massive amounts of electricity to power new data centers. Electric utilities see the prospect of earning large profits by providing electricity to these power-hungry facilities and are competing for their business by offering discounts not available to average consumers.

In our paper Extracting Profits from the Public, we explain how utilities are forcing regular ratepayers to pay for the discounts enjoyed by some of the nation’s largest companies and identify ways policymakers can limit the costs to the public.

    Shifting costs

In much of the U.S., utilities are monopolists. Within their service territories, they are the only companies allowed to deliver electricity to consumers. To fund their operations, utilities split the costs of maintaining and expanding their systems among all ratepayers – homeowners, businesses, warehouses, factories and anyone else who uses electricity.

Historically, a utility expanded its system to meet growing demand for electricity from new factories, businesses and homes. To pay for its expansion − new power plants, new transmission lines and other equipment − the utility would propose to raise electricity rates by different amounts for various types of consumers.

Public utility commissions are state agencies charged with ensuring that the public gets a fair deal. These commissions monitor how much money the utility spends to provide electric service and how its costs are shared among various types of ratepayers, including residential, commercial and industrial consumers. Ultimately, the public utility commission is supposed to approve any rate increases based on its assessment of what’s fair to consumers.

Splitting the utility’s costs among all consumers made perfect sense when population growth and economic development across the economy stimulated the need for new infrastructure. But today, in many utility service territories, most of the projected growth in electricity demand is due to new data centers.

Here’s the problem for consumers: To meet data center demand, utilities are building new power plants and power lines that are needed only because of data center growth. If state regulators allow utilities to follow the standard approach of splitting the costs of new infrastructure among all consumers, the public will end up paying to supply data centers with all that power.

An artist’s rendering of a proposed Meta data center in Richland Parish, La.
    Meta via Facebook

    A big price tag

One particularly acute example is in Louisiana. A Meta data center under development in the northeastern corner of the state is projected to use, by our calculations, twice as much energy as the city of New Orleans.

Entergy, the regional monopoly utility, is proposing to build more than US$3 billion worth of new gas-fired power plants and delivery infrastructure to meet the data center’s energy demand. Rather than billing Meta directly for these costs, Entergy is proposing to include the costs in rates paid by all customers.

Entergy claims its contract with Meta will cover some portion of the $3 billion price tag and that will mitigate any increases in consumers’ bills. But Entergy has asked state regulators to keep key terms of the contract secret, and only a redacted version of its application is available online.

The public has no idea how much it might pay if the commission approves the contract. And if the Meta data center ends up using much less power than the company anticipates, the public does not know whether it would be on the hook to pay higher electricity rates for longer periods to guarantee Entergy a profit.

    Secret agreements

Our research, reviewing nearly 50 public utility commission proceedings about data centers’ power needs across 10 states, uncovered dozens of secretive contracts between utilities and data centers. Unlike Louisiana, most states require utilities to submit to the public utility commission their one-off deals with data centers, but they allow utilities to conceal the pricing terms from the public.

In normal rate-review cases, numerous parties advocate for their interests in a public proceeding, including members of the public, industry groups and the utility itself. But as our paper finds, utility commission reviews of data center contracts are based on confidential utility filings that are inaccessible to the general public. Few, if any, outsiders participate, and as a result the commission often hears only the utility’s version of the deal.

Because the pricing terms are secret, it is impossible to know whether the deal that a utility is offering to a data center is too low to cover the utility’s costs of providing power to the data center, which would mean that the public is subsidizing the deal. History shows, however, that utilities have a long history of exploiting their monopolies to shift costs to the public, including through secret contracts.

Electric utilities also charge customers for the costs of building and maintaining transmission networks.

    Other public costs

Our paper also explores other ways that the public pays for data center energy costs. For instance, many high-voltage interstate transmission projects, which connect large power plants to local delivery systems, are developed through regional planning processes run by numerous utilities. These alliances have complex rules for splitting the costs of new transmission lines and equipment among their utility members.

Once a utility is charged its share, it spreads the costs of new transmission projects among its local ratepayers. Because some regions are building new transmission capacity to accommodate data centers, our analysis finds that the public has been forced to pay billions of dollars for data center growth.

Data center energy costs can also be shifted when data centers connect directly to existing power plants. Under what are called “co-location” deals, the power plant stops selling energy to the wider public and just sells to the data center. With less supply in the overall market, prices go up and the public faces higher bills as a result.

Many state legislatures are noticing these problems and working to figure out how to address them. Several recent bills would set new terms and conditions for future data center deals that could help protect the public from data center energy costs.

  • MIL-OSI United Nations: UNECE advances support for Ukraine’s recovery through action on green and resilient urban energy projects

Source: United Nations Economic Commission for Europe

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the country’s energy infrastructure has suffered approximately $20 billion in damage, causing widespread power outages and insufficient heat supply – with the cities of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv alone accounting for over $630 million in losses, according to UNDP.

While emergency efforts have focused on rebuilding existing capacity and fossil fuel capacity replacements, this approach can overlook the need for more resilient and sustainable local energy solutions. In addition to the need to rebuild energy infrastructure and meet ambitious 2030 renewable energy targets in place in national energy and climate laws, Ukraine aims to move to a system that balances centralized and decentralized systems, across heat, electricity and energy demand.

In this context, Ukrainian cities will play an important role in the country’s sustainable and resilient reconstruction that is aligned with the energy transition, as well as with European standards and regulations.

Meeting with Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, H.E. Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk, UNECE Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean reiterated UNECE’s steadfast commitment to help the government address these issues, building on strong cooperation on urban development and energy policy. Looking ahead to the Ukraine Recovery Conference to be held in Rome in July, she underscored solidarity and ongoing support for Ukraine’s sustainable and resilient recovery across UNECE’s areas of expertise.

Local action for Ukraine’s green energy recovery

Support to urban reconstruction planning has been a core dimension of UNECE’s support to Ukraine’s recovery since the start of the war. Through the UN4UkrainianCities initiative, UNECE has mobilized international partners to support the development of concept master plans and pilot projects in the cities of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, and has supported the government to draft new housing legislation, including the State Housing Policy Strategy, as well as to strengthen capacities for the Urban Planning Cadastre.

To this end, UNECE, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the Autonomous Region of Bolzano in Italy jointly organized an international study trip to strengthen the capacities of the cities of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, among other 2 municipalities, for integrated urban energy planning focused on decentralized and renewable local energy and modern district heating systems.

This study visit is facilitated by the UNEP programme “Unlocking greener and more resilient energy in Ukrainian cities”, supported by the Italian Development Co-operation (AICS), and by UNECE’s UN4UkrainianCities initiative. Additional support to the study visit is provided by the NOI Technopark in Bolzano, Alperia (Bolzano, Italy), and EURAC Research.

Officials from Kharkiv and Mykolaiv will benefit from the guidance of international experts, and site visits to state-of-the-art local, renewable and decentralized energy installations.

Mobilizing partnerships meet financing needs on the ground

At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference this week, the City Council of Bucha, home to 73,000 people and located 30km from Kyiv, presented a project for the construction of a decentralised city energy system. Supported by UNECE, this provided an opportunity to present the project seeking €145 million from potential investors and financiers in staged investment through Public-Private Partnerships.

Developed in response to energy capacity losses during the war, the distributed energy system aims to provide a reliable uninterruptible power supply of over 112 MW through a clean, flexible and autonomous system comprising generation facilities and grid connection infrastructure. This would include power plants for households and critical infrastructure, power for the city’s industrial cluster, and energy storage systems. The project would in addition create an estimated 120 jobs.

    Continued support for sustainable recovery

In Geneva, the Executive Secretary also recalled UNECE’s broader, multisectoral support to the government of Ukraine in implementing the National Recovery Plan, including through: the PIERS methodology to assess sustainability of infrastructure projects, facilitating Public-Private Partnerships and other investment; the Platform for Action on the Green Recovery of Ukraine; the Inter-agency Coordination Group on Environmental Assessments for Ukraine; harnessing Innovation for Sustainable Development; support for water-related and other environmental challenges, leveraging UNECE Multilateral Environmental Agreements; and applying the UN Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC) to support the sustainable management of Ukraine’s critical raw materials.

  • The Q4 Growth Numbers Have A Pleasant Message for India

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

More good news for India’s economy. Following the news of India becoming the fourth-largest economy, at more than $4 trillion, the numbers for the fourth quarter of FY25 are out. At 7.4 per cent, the growth numbers have exceeded the market expectations, leaving many pleasantly surprised.

We finished the third quarter at 6.4 per cent, the second quarter at 5.6 per cent, and the first quarter at 6.5 per cent. Interestingly, in FY24, the GDP grew at 9.5 per cent in Q3 and 8.4 per cent in Q4. So, what happened?

We must factor in the external factors at play here. In FY25, the first quarter, between April and June, was lost to the national elections. Business activity was largely muted, cash flows were restricted, and new orders were delayed. Nothing unusual, for elections of this magnitude and importance do leave the businesses on the precautionary backfoot.

The second quarter, between July and September, was about getting used to a new avatar of the Narendra Modi Government. People were sceptical, given an unusual alliance in the Centre. However, it was soon visible to everyone that things were not going to change. The Lok Sabha numbers had not dented PM Modi’s socio-economic pursuits, and the show was to go on, uninterrupted.

Whatever little doubts that remained were decimated on the morning of October 8, 2024. The flip in numbers, within twenty minutes, around 10:00 AM, sealed the political fate of the Congress. The Bharatiya Janata Party had triumphed expectations and predictions, and became the first party to register a third consecutive win (with complete five-year terms). The Haryana victory set up the third quarter for an economic resurgence.

By the beginning of the fourth quarter, the BJP was in the driver’s seat. Maharashtra had been won with a thumping majority, and the party was eyeing Delhi next. The Budget came with the good news of a tax cut, enabling zero income tax for citizens with Rs. 12.75 Lakh annual income (standard deduction included).

The larger message behind the fourth quarter numbers must be acknowledged. Political stability is directly proportional to growth numbers. While elections are an unavoidable occurrence in the trajectory of our democracy, the idea of ‘One Nation, One Election’, must be discussed with greater vigour. The continuity offered by the Narendra Modi government, in its third term, has also given the economy a critical thrust.

From here, it’s a journey of a few years until we become the third-largest economy on the planet, trailing China and the United States of America. The evolution of our economy will add to our geopolitical heft, inevitably. As the largest free market in the world, with over a billion people, consumerism and the growing middle class offers enough nudge for the MSMEs and other aspiring entrepreneurs to embrace manufacturing.

The tax cuts will also kick in next year, ushering in at least Rs. 1 Lakh Crore more into the economy. This will soon reflect in automobile sales numbers, tourism revenue, and other indirect taxes, as the spending goes up. The mere fact that the Modi Government was able to introduce these tax cuts is a testament to their stupendous fiscal management in the last eleven years.

The other message is that of self-reliance. While the pandemic, Russia-Ukraine war, and the global supply chains crisis have put the manufacturing ambition into a hyperdrive mode, we can do more. India Stack and UPI are a stunning example of how self-reliance can propel success in other sectors, like the service economy. Close to 1,868 Crore UPI transactions in May 2025 further showcase the resolve of the Indian market.

However, it’s now time to go big on hardware. The ongoing ‘Operation Sindoor’ proves how warfare is evolving, and why we should not rely on external players, especially China, for critical components. This is where our focus must be. The services industry has sustained the aspiring Indian middle class for almost three decades. It’s now time for manufacturing to take over.

As we grow to become a ten trillion dollar economy by 2035, the nature of employment will evolve as well. Artificial Intelligence applications, offered at throwaway prices, are making several jobs redundant. The cycle of time moves, as it did when computers replaced typewriters, but no reason for India to be disheartened. Our economy evolved well with computers, it’ll do so with AI and hardware as well.

The 7.4 per cent growth number has a message for India: keep the hustle going. Do not be afraid to evolve with the times, and while the ten trillion mark is a decade away, start preparing for it today. On the policy front, we must begin pondering ideas that allow us to minimise disruption (One Nation, One Election). On the innovation front, let’s get people to start aspiring for jobs that involve not sitting before a computer, but manufacturing one.

This is India’s decade. The rise is inevitable and indispensable for the world.

  • MIL-OSI: SeekOut Appoints Veteran B2B Executive Bala Vishwanath as Chief Marketing Officer to Lead Talent Acquisition’s Agentic AI Revolution

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

SEATTLE, June 05, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SeekOut, the Agentic AI talent acquisition platform, today announced Bala Vishwanath as Chief Marketing Officer, positioning the company to lead recruiting’s most fundamental transformation since the dawn of the internet. This strategic appointment comes as enterprises have an unprecedented opportunity to embrace Agentic AI and gain significant competitive advantages in securing top talent.

The talent acquisition industry stands at a critical inflection point. While many organizations celebrate basic AI-powered tools that assist recruiters, a seismic shift to autonomous AI agents is already underway. These agents work continuously, sourcing across platforms, conducting deep research and managing personalized campaigns with superhuman scale and precision. Organizations that embrace this evolution early will gain tremendous competitive advantages in securing exceptional talent.

“We’re witnessing the emergence of Vertical AI with specialized autonomous agents built for specific functions,” said Anoop Gupta, co-founder and CEO of SeekOut. “Just as AI transformed finance and healthcare, it’s now redefining talent acquisition. Bala understands how to evangelize category-defining transformations. He’ll ensure every enterprise leader grasps a simple truth: Agentic AI isn’t coming. It’s here, and it’s creating incredible opportunities for forward-thinking organizations.”

SeekOut bridges the transformation gap with two revolutionary approaches. SeekOut Recruit represents the “you do it” solution, empowering internal teams with AI superpowers, including semantic search across one billion profiles and intelligent automation. For organizations ready to leap forward, SeekOut Spot delivers the “we do it” experience through true Agentic AI, where autonomous agents work alongside expert advisors to deliver qualified, interested candidates in 3 to 14 days, versus the industry’s 60- to 80-day standard.

“Every filled position with exceptional talent becomes a competitive advantage for your organization,” said Bala Vishwanath. “SeekOut Spot doesn’t just accelerate hiring. It fundamentally breaks the speed-quality paradox that has plagued recruiting forever. When AI agents evaluate thousands of candidates in parallel while human experts ensure nuance and fit, you don’t get incremental improvement. You get transformation. My mission is simple: help every talent leader understand the incredible opportunities this transformation creates and how they can lead the way in their industry.”

With over 25 years leading B2B marketing transformations, including establishing CoreStack as the definitive enterprise cloud governance leader, Vishwanath will spearhead SeekOut’s market expansion as enterprises worldwide embrace Agentic AI.

    About SeekOut

SeekOut is the Agentic AI talent acquisition platform transforming how enterprises discover and hire exceptional talent. The company’s dual approach includes SeekOut Recruit, the “you do it” AI-powered platform trusted by over 1,000 enterprises, and SeekOut Spot, the “we do it” Agentic AI service where autonomous agents and expert advisors deliver complete hiring outcomes. Founded in 2018, SeekOut has raised $189 million from Tiger Global, Madrona and Mayfield, achieving a $1.2 billion valuation. Learn more at www.seekout.com.
