  • MIL-OSI Economics: Samsung Unveils HU8000F Hotel TV Series at HITEC 2025

    Source: Samsung

Samsung recently announced the upcoming global launch of the HU8000F series, its 2025 Hospitality TV. Available in six sizes — 43″, 50″, 55″, 65″, 75″ and 85″ — the HU8000F empowers hotel owners with powerful management tools to elevate guest stays while providing visitors with effortless streaming and connectivity options through Google Cast. Samsung unveiled the HU8000F series at HITEC 2025, the world’s largest and longest-running hospitality technology event, which took place between June 16-19 in Indianapolis, USA.

“Samsung’s HU8000F Hospitality TV series delivers a new level of in-room experience, combining brilliant 4K picture, advanced streaming and easy management,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “With Google Cast support, an AirSlim design, and integrated cloud capabilities, we are redefining what’s possible for hotel entertainment worldwide.”

Premium Picture Quality, AirSlim Design and Effortless Streaming

The HU8000F is powered by Samsung’s Crystal Processor 4K and features HDR10+ and Dynamic Crystal Color, immersing hotel guests in one billion shades of color with lifelike clarity and detail. Additionally, its sleek AirSlim design creates an elegant, nearly bezel-free look that complements any hotel space.
The new model has expanded content options for guests by adding Prime Video to its portfolio — along with Netflix and Samsung TV Plus — which are all accessible from the Tizen OS Home. For an enhanced viewing experience, the HU8000F also includes adaptive sound technology, providing real-time audio scene analysis and quality optimisation to any news program, sports game, musical performance, TV show or movie.

Hotel-Ready Features and Integrated Hospitality Solutions

For centralised remote management and actionable business insights for hotel managers, Samsung LYNK Cloud streamlines global hospitality operations while helping drive incremental revenue through targeted promotions. With SmartThings Pro and a multi-code remote, hotel staff can offer personalized in-room experiences and ensure interference-free control, enhancing both convenience and guest satisfaction.

As Google Cast is integrated directly into Samsung’s hotel TV series, guests can easily access their favorite content from 5,000 Cast-enabled apps by mirroring their Android and iOS devices on the TV, without the need for additional dongles or login requirements. Embedding Cast also reduces costs for hotels and system integrators by removing the need to buy and maintain extra hub-type devices, avoiding the risk of theft for those types of devices and freeing up an HDMI port.

For hotels currently using the HBU8000, a software update will soon be available to enable Google Cast without interrupting service.[1] This upgrade has already been successfully deployed in Indonesia at The Apurva Kempinski Bali and Swissôtel Living Jakarta Mega Kuningan through simultaneous software updates, demonstrating the scalability and reliability of the solution.

With Google Cast and over-the-top (OTT) integration, the HU8000F ensures seamless viewing options and an optimised solution that enhances viewing experiences.

Samsung’s hospitality display series is also built to include practical features tailored for hotel environments, including RJ12 connectors, bathroom speaker support and LAN output ports. Powered by the intuitive and secure Tizen platform, the HU8000F offers smooth navigation, enterprise-grade protection with Samsung Knox and flexible connectivity through multiple HDMI and USB ports.

Samsung’s HU8000F will be available in the UK from October 2025. For more information about Samsung’s hospitality solutions, please visit www.samsung.com.

  • MIL-OSI: LPL Financial and Strategic Wealth Group Welcome Financial Advisors Mike Trudeau, Matt Merrick, Ben Ollila and Ben Prchal

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

SAN DIEGO, June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LPL Financial LLC announced today that financial advisors Mike Trudeau, CFP®, Matt Merrick, Ben Ollila, CFP® and Ben Prchal have joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer, Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and custodial platforms, aligning with existing RIA firm Strategic Wealth Group. They reported serving approximately $220 million in advisory, brokerage and retirement plan assets* and join LPL from Thrivent Investment Management.

Based just outside of Minneapolis in Lino Lakes, Minn., Trudeau, Merrick and Ollila began collaborating in 2009 and bring a combined three decades of financial industry experience to the practice. Prchal, who entered the financial industry in 2021, completes the team. Together, they take a take a holistic approach to helping their clients — most of whom are nearing or in retirement — plan for the next phase of their fiscal futures.

“We approach financial planning like it’s a jigsaw puzzle to solve,” Merrick said. “Each piece of our clients’ financial puzzle — like retirement, Social Security investments, assets and estate planning — must be placed correctly to complete their fiscal picture.”

Why they chose LPL and Strategic Wealth Group

Looking for a strategic partner to help them provide an elevated client experience, free from corporate mandates and proprietary investments, Trudeau, Merrick, Ollila and Prchal turned to Strategic Wealth Group and LPL for the next chapter of their business.

“By going independent with Strategic Wealth Group and LPL, we will be able to provide a holistic and tailored experience for each client, using products and services that make sense for their long- and short-term goals,” Trudeau said. “A tremendous plus is that Strategic Wealth Group’s services are backed by LPL’s innovative technology and integrated capabilities, allowing us to provide a next-level experience.”

Prchal added, “By partnering with Strategic Wealth Group, we now have access to Strategic Tax Group, an in-house team of tax professionals, which will allow us to bundle financial planning, accounting and estate planning under one roof. By making this move, we will have the opportunity to serve our clients our way and build the business we envision.”

Scott Posner, LPL Managing Director, Business Development, said, “We welcome Mike, Ben, Matt and Ben to LPL and congratulate them on their move to independence with Strategic Wealth Group. With more freedom and flexibility, financial advisors who choose LPL can work more effectively, run thriving practices and create value for their clients. We look forward to supporting Strategic Wealth Group for years to come.”

  • MIL-OSI: Grayscale® Launches Grayscale® Space and Time Trust

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

STAMFORD, Conn., June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Grayscale®, the world’s largest digital asset-focused investment platform, today announced the creation and launch of Grayscale® Space and Time Trust (the “Trust”).

Space and Time is a blockchain built to deliver verifiable, real-time database processing for smart contracts, artificial intelligence (AI), and decentralized applications. Built to meet the growing demands of the Web 3.0 ecosystem and AI, it seeks to offer scalable, transparent access to both on-chain and off-chain data, addressing a critical limitation of traditional blockchains.

While traditional blockchain technology offers decentralization and resilience, it has historically not been designed for computationally intensive tasks. In contrast, legacy systems like data warehouses excel at complex queries and throughput, but rely on centralized infrastructure, potentially creating single points of failure, as opposed to the trustless nature of blockchains.

Space and Time strives to bridge this gap by combining the reliability of blockchain networks with the performance of traditional data platforms. The result is a high-performance, decentralized data and compute layer that brings speed and efficiency, and is designed to help preserve transparency and data integrity. This innovative approach is especially crucial for decentralized finance and AI, where verifiable data integrity, provenance, and auditability are essential.

“As we enter the next age of computing, transparency is paramount. Verifiable data ensures that we can trust the underlying datasets used for AI and smart contract applications,” said Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, Head of Product & Research at Grayscale. “Grayscale Space and Time Trust provides investors with access to a project that combines blockchain technology with enterprise-grade data architecture, enabling a wide range of use cases across Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.”

“AI and blockchain are converging around one critical need: verifiable data. Space and Time is built to solve this problem, bringing verifiability, transparency, and auditability to the data and compute that will drive the next generation of intelligent and decentralized applications,” said the Space and Time Foundation.

Grayscale® Space and Time Trust provides investors with exposure to SXT, the native token of the Space and Time network, which plays a critical role in securing the network through staking and facilitating data processing payments.

The Trust is now open for daily subscription by eligible individual and institutional accredited investors.* The Trust functions like Grayscale’s other single-asset investment trusts, except as may be disclosed in the Private Placement Memorandum relating to the Trust, and is solely invested in the SXT token underpinning the Space and Time protocol. For additional information regarding the seeding of the Trust and other ways in which an investment in the Trust might differ from an investment in Grayscale’s other single-asset investment trusts, please refer to the Private Placement Memorandum relating to the Trust.

This press release is not an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy any security in any jurisdiction where such an offer or solicitation would be illegal, nor shall there be any sale of any security in any jurisdiction in which such offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of that jurisdiction.

*Grayscale’s private placements are only available to Accredited Investors as defined in Rule 501(a) of Regulation D under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended. Most individuals are not Accredited Investors. For additional information on Accredited Investors and their qualifications please consult https://www.sec.gov/newsroom/speeches-statements/spch121714laa

Grayscale may attempt to have shares of new products quoted on a secondary market. However, there is no guarantee that Grayscale will be successful. Although the shares of certain products have been approved for trading on a secondary market, investors in the new products should not assume that the shares will ever obtain such an approval due to a variety of factors, including questions regulators, such as the SEC, FINRA, or other regulatory bodies may have regarding such products. As a result, shareholders of such products should be prepared to bear the risk of investment in the shares indefinitely. To date, certain products have not met their investment objective, and the shares of such products quoted on OTC Markets have not reflected the value of the digital assets held by such products, less such products’ expenses and other liabilities, but have instead traded at a premium over such value, which at times has been substantial. There have also been instances where the shares of certain products have traded at a discount.

Private placement securities are speculative, illiquid, and entail a high level of risk, including the risk that an investor could lose their entire investment. The Space and Time protocol was relatively recently conceived and its particular underlying technological mechanisms may not function as intended, which could have an adverse impact on the value of SXT and an investment in the Shares.

Extreme volatility of trading prices that many digital assets have experienced in recent periods and may continue to experience, could have a material adverse effect on the value of the Trust and the shares could lose all or substantially all of their value.

  • MIL-OSI: Blank Rome adopts Intapp Intelligent Cloud to activate firmwide intelligence

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Intapp (NASDAQ: INTA), a leading global provider of AI-powered solutions for professionals at advisory, capital markets, and legal firms, today announced that Blank Rome will standardize on Intapp Cloud Infrastructure. The firm is moving Intapp Time, Intapp Intake, Intapp Conflicts, Intapp Terms, and Intapp Walls to the cloud, and is adding Intapp DealCloud and Intapp Billstream — transforming the firm’s collective knowledge and experience into actionable intelligence.

    Leading change
Blank Rome’s move to Intapp Intelligent Cloud solutions aligns with its strategy of prioritizing platforms that enhance access to collective knowledge and, consequently, provide deeper insights and better client and business operations outcomes.

“Blank Rome is dedicated to providing best-in-class, cloud-based applications for our attorneys and business professionals,” said Frank Spadafino, Chief Information Officer at Blank Rome. “We are transitioning our existing Intapp Time and Intapp Compliance solutions to the cloud and adding Intapp Billstream to leverage AI-driven enhancements for conflict review and new matter openings. These applications will facilitate compliance with client guidelines in a rapidly evolving environment.”

Spadafino continued: “Additionally, incorporating DealCloud will provide deeper client insights through enhanced data integration and AI synergies across the Intapp platform, supporting our commitment to providing exceptional service.”

Connecting data and processes in the cloud
Blank Rome, a longtime Intapp client, is moving its multiple Intapp products — which the firm uses to support core business and compliance processes — to the cloud. The firm will migrate Intapp Time, which uses AI to accurately capture complete work effort, as well as Intapp Terms, which integrates with Intapp Time to facilitate client compliance at time entry and prebilling. Blank Rome will also migrate Intapp Intake, Intapp Conflicts, and Intapp Walls to help teams thoroughly evaluate and onboard new business, protect sensitive data, and monitor compliance.

Blank Rome will further enhance prebilling and revenue recognition using Intapp Billstream. The solution enhances collaboration between the firm’s lawyers and billing teams, and it integrates directly with the firm’s financial management system. The ability to digitally review and approve prebills will increase transparency, efficiency, and timeliness throughout the billing process.

And with DealCloud, Blank Rome will have a single destination for its lawyers and business professionals to find and reference communications, workflows, and other data relating to client relationships, outreach, and engagements. Zero-entry data capabilities will help the firm build and manage a comprehensive view of its relationships with clients, prospects, and other contacts. Access to collective firm intelligence will help teams strengthen relationships, accurately track and forecast deals and pipeline, and accelerate execution. And leveraging proprietary and third-party data will provide new, actionable insights into client trends and industry developments.

    Multiplying success with Intapp
“We’re thrilled to deepen our partnership with Blank Rome as they increase their connectedness in the cloud,” said Laura Saklad, Legal Industry Principal at Intapp. “By incorporating Intapp DealCloud and Intapp Billstream, and by moving its time and compliance solutions to the cloud, Blank Rome expands its unified data framework and modern AI-enabled technology platform to support the firm’s continued growth and strategic objectives.”

  • MIL-OSI Global: What Glastonbury is like for deaf people – one of the festival’s DeafZone coordinators explains

Source: The Conversation – UK – By Dai O’Brien, Associate Professor, BSL and Deaf Studies, York St John University

The sense of community is something Deaf people share with how hearing people experience festivals. Drazen Zigic/Shutterstock

For the past few years at Glastonbury, sign language interpreters have gone viral on social media for enthusiastically signing songs beside the stage. But those clips tell us nothing about what the overall experience of the festival is like for deaf people. How do deaf people experience and enjoy live music, and how do they create their own alternative space which is not focused around sound?

I am deaf and use British Sign Language (BSL) as my preferred language. As well as my academic job teaching BSL and Deaf studies at York St John University, I am also one of the coordinators of DeafZone. It’s a small charity which organises, among other things, the BSL interpreters of events like Glastonbury.

But a key reason for setting up DeafZone was to instigate a space for cultural exchange. In the DeafZone, the more progressive, open-minded people who are attracted to Glastonbury’s tradition as a space of radical thought and alternative lifestyles may be open to learning more about deaf people, our languages and cultures.

An absolutely key element of deaf people’s experience of festivals is the creation of alternative deaf spaces. Deaf people do not experience festivals in the same way as hearing people in more ways that the simple absence of sound.

We create our own spaces which are visual and tactile. The interpretation of song lyrics into BSL is only a small, albeit very visible, part of this alternative festival space.

People often look at me strangely when I tell them that one of my best every festival experiences was in a portaloo. Understandable, I suppose, when you consider what usually happens in portaloos in festivals.

However, this particular experience was focused on the way in which the plastic walls of the portaloo acted as a gigantic amplifier of the sound vibrations in the air. This made the inside of the loo an intensely tactile experience of music, with different frequencies vibrating through different parts of my body.

A less smelly way of accessing this tactile experience of music is through plastic drinks holders or balloons. Balloons can be a risky option, however, as security sometimes confiscate them under the impression that they are full of nitrous oxide. This is frustrating, but can result in conversations which invite them into the lived deaf space we are inhabiting and give them an alternative way of appreciating music which does not rely on sound.

Of course, deaf people often also simply position themselves directly in front of the sound stacks. But the key is that the experience of sound is again a physical, tactile one, subverting the idea that music must be enjoyed as an auditory experience.

The values of the space created have some overlaps with those of the wider festival. Deaf spaces centre the use of signed languages. Their creators – including myself – firmly believe that deaf children should have access to signed languages from birth to stave off language deprivation.

We also resist the medicalisation of deafness. These are beliefs which find common ground in the radical political roots of Glastonbury, in which ideas of equality and acceptance are core principles.

This means that at its heart, the festival is a very welcoming space for deaf people, regardless of whether there is a shared language or not. There’s a shared respect for humanity that transcends language modality.

This comes back to the fact that DeafZone is not just about organising interpreters for access to song lyrics. We give non-signing people a chance to engage with us in our space, to appreciate our values, and to learn about the mistreatment that deaf communities and cultures have suffered.

Regardless of whether you’re deaf or hearing, the uniqueness of the Glastonbury festival provides opportunities to learn from each other and enjoy each other’s languages. If that includes room for dancing together to your favourite band, so much the better.

    MIL OSI – Global Reports

  • MIL-OSI: AI at Work: New Global Study Links AI to Greater Happiness

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

    • Workers who use AI daily are 34% more satisfied with their jobs and feel more optimistic about the future.
    • Job satisfaction strongly influences life satisfaction with happy employees 4.5 times more likely to feel happy in life.
    • AI users report higher fulfilment as two-thirds of those with high job satisfaction also report high satisfaction in life.
    • Paradoxically, frequent AI users are also likely to be up to 20% more stressed, as well as more concerned about their job security.

LOWELL, Mass., June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Jabra, the world’s leading professional audio brand, today released the results of new research exploring whether AI can do more than just improve efficiency. This global study conducted in partnership with The Happiness Research Institute examines the connection of GenAI with wellbeing at work, and in everyday life. The data shows that while much of the conversation about AI has centered on efficiency, the real opportunity may lie in something far more human: happiness.

The study, Work and Wellbeing in the Age of AI, surveyed over 3,700 knowledge workers1 across 11 countries and provides a first-of-its-kind look at how the growing use of AI tools is influencing job satisfaction, stress levels and life happiness.

The link between AI and wellbeing
The research reveals a clear correlation between frequent AI use and elevated job satisfaction. Workers who use AI daily report being 34% more satisfied with their roles compared to those who do not. They report stronger goal achievement (78% of frequent AI users vs. 63% of infrequent AI users) and more opportunities for advancement (70% of frequent AI users vs. 38% of infrequent AI users) than those who use AI just once a week or less.

Similarly, compared with workers who don’t use AI regularly, frequent AI-users are more optimistic about their future job satisfaction (47% vs. 27%), and more confident that their work will remain enjoyable (44% vs. 23%) and fulfilling (45% vs. 24%). In conclusion, individuals using AI frequently are significantly more likely to experience a stronger sense of purpose and feel optimistic about the general future of work.

Meik Wiking, CEO of The Happiness Research Institute and author of The Little Book of Hygge explains, “It’s easy to talk about AI in terms of productivity. But we need to start talking about it in terms of psychology. How it affects identity, motivation and what people believe their future looks like. The future of work isn’t just technological — it’s emotional.”

    Why workplace wellbeing matters
The findings indicate that workplace wellbeing is closely linked to broader life satisfaction. Employees who are happy at work are 4.5 times more likely to report being satisfied with life overall. Two-thirds of those who report high job satisfaction also describe themselves as happy in their personal lives.

Paul Sephton, Global Head of Brand Communications at Jabra, commented: “We need to understand how technology and wellbeing intersect. As we engineer products, we are innovating for a future where people collaborate not just with other people, but also with AI. This shift means evolving our solutions to support not only human interaction, but also to enable AI systems with the audio and video input they need to be more helpful, more contextual and more emotionally intelligent.”

How we use AI also linked to stress
While the overall sentiment around AI is positive, the study notes, paradoxically, that frequent AI users also report 20% higher levels of stress than infrequent users. This could be driven by the pressure to master new tools, craft the “right” prompts, and continuously adapt to evolving systems. Some of this strain may also come from the added mental load of reviewing and interpreting AI-generated outputs. Workers not only have to use these tools but also stay vigilant, double-checking results and making judgment calls more frequently.

However, all stress is not equal. Workers who report slightly elevated stress levels (those who feel stretched but not overwhelmed) report higher purpose, greater happiness, and stronger satisfaction at work than those with moderate or neutral stress levels. In these cases, stress may be a proxy for engagement: a sign that workers are invested, motivated, and challenged in ways that feel meaningful.

    Big opportunity in AI deployment
Despite the hype around AI, the majority of workers are still not using it regularly. In fact, nearly one-third of high-skilled professionals have never used AI at work. Among those who do, flexibility appears to be a defining factor. Workers are engaging with AI across a wide variety of inputs, from typing to using voice prompts, and using it for diverse tasks in multiple environments. This suggests a critical moment for businesses: AI has the potential to both support and detract from wellbeing. What organizations choose to do now will shape how successfully their workforce can adapt and thrive in the future.

This study signals a new frontier for businesses navigating the integration of AI. Rather than focusing solely on efficiency, Jabra and The Happiness Research Institute suggest that the emotional experience of work must become a design priority. As AI becomes a regular part of the workplace, there is growing potential to build environments that foster both productivity and wellbeing.

  • MIL-OSI Africa: SIU secures interim interdict against pension withdrawal

    Source: South Africa News Agency

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has secured an interim interdict preventing Sanele Dlamini, a former senior manager at the National Lotteries Commission (NLC), from withdrawing his pension benefits pending the outcome of ongoing litigation.

The interdict bars Dlamini from accessing his pension benefits until the SIU’s main case  – a civil recovery action tied to the misallocation of R6 million in NLC grant funds – is concluded.

The fourth respondent, Liberty’s Corporate Selection Umbrella Retirement Fund, has been directed to assess and disclose the value of Dlamini’s pension within 60 days.

This preservation is intended to ensure that funds remain available for potential recovery should the SIU succeed in its claim.

Dlamini, who held several senior positions at the NLC, including Provincial Manager for KwaZulu-Natal, Senior Manager: Grant Operations, and Acting Chief Operations Officer, was found guilty on four of six disciplinary charges related to misconduct during his tenure.

The charges included approving falsified progress reports, as well as gross negligence and dereliction of duty. His dismissal was finalised on 04 October 2024 following the disciplinary process.

The SIU’s investigation revealed that the NLC-funded project – a sports complex – was never initiated, and supporting documents, including progress reports and financial statements, were falsified.

Dlamini, who facilitated the irregular disbursement of R3 million to the Motheo Sports and Entertainment Foundation, co-signed the fraudulent progress report without verifying the site or documentation, enabling the unlawful payout.

“The SIU pursues a preservation order to limit the risk of a ‘hollow judgment’ if funds were released, noting concerns that Dlamini may lack sufficient assets to satisfy future claims.

“The order of the Special Tribunal implements SIU investigation outcomes and consequence management to recover financial losses suffered by State institutions because of corruption or negligence. The order forms part of a broader investigation into corruption involving NLC grants intended for community development projects,” the SIU said.

The SIU is empowered to institute a civil action in the High Court or a Special Tribunal to correct any wrongdoing uncovered during investigations caused by corruption, fraud, or maladministration.

In line with the Special Investigating Units and Special Tribunals Act 74 of 1996, the SIU refers any evidence pointing to criminal conduct it uncovers to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for further action. – SAnews.gov.za

A ceramic symposium, a Northern Soul exhibition and new heritage events will feature in a jam-packed festival which will shine a spotlight on Stoke-on-Trent’s past, present and future.

The Stoke-on-Trent 100: Heritage Festival for the Centenary, which is being jointly organised by the city council and key partners, is launching in 2025 – as the city celebrates 100 years since receiving official city status.

It follows a successful bid for £186,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Between now and March 2026, 17 heritage projects will be taking place which will highlight Stoke-on-Trent’s World Craft City status, showcase the work which has been delivered through the Living Heritage City initiative, and outline the city’s ambitions for heritage in the future.

Councillor Lyn Sharpe, Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s heritage champion, said: “Anyone who knows me knows I love Stoke-on-Trent – so it’s great to be able to celebrate our heritage during our Centenary year and beyond.

“There’s loads of different events taking place across the city throughout 2025 and there’s something for everyone.

“So, keep your eyes peeled for more information about the events in the coming months.”

    Projects include:

    • A two-day Ceramic Symposium curated by Professor Neil Brownsword and Dr Alasdair Brooks of Re-Form Heritage at Jubilee Hall
    • A photographic exhibition showcasing the city and its people over the last century with a series of historical walking tours at Stoke Minster
    • An audio documentary exhibition at Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station highlighting the city’s role in the Northern Soul movement
    • The creation of new heritage based performance pieces and
    • The development of new family-friendly workshops at Ford Green Hall

Lynne Ball, Chair of the Heritage Network for Stoke-on-Trent, said: “The Heritage Network for Stoke-on-Trent brings together heritage groups and the owners of heritage sites across the city to work together and learn from each other.

“The Heritage Open Days festival in September provides a unique opportunity to highlight the heritage of The Potteries and provide free access to historic sites and special events.

“Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery players for this support, which will build significantly upon our local success, involving more organisations, hosting more events and attracting more visitors to help celebrate our city’s centenary year.”

ARK: Survival Evolved sees over 3,000% sales lift in June

Snail leverages box office and music partnerships to promote ARK: Aquatica

CULVER CITY, Calif., June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Snail, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNAL) (“Snail Games” or the “Company”), a leading global independent developer and publisher of interactive digital entertainment, celebrates the ARK franchise’s 10-year anniversary with strong June 2025 sales momentum across ARK: Survival Evolved (“ASE”) and it launches targeted marketing strategy to drive engagement for the upcoming ARK: Aquatica DLC.

Following the recent Snail Steam Publisher Sale, ARK: Survival Evolved saw a sharp resurgence in player engagement and sales, with over 3.8x total units sold and average daily sales increasing by 3,022% during Snail’s Steam Publisher Sale compared to prior months in 2025. Concurrent players peaked at 65,885, underscoring the franchise’s enduring global community engagement even a decade after its original debut. These results reflect not only the franchise’s lasting popularity and staying power, but also Snail Games’ ongoing commitment to sustaining player engagement through consistent content updates and releases.

Snail Games co-CEO Tony Tian commented: “As we celebrate 10 years of ARK and set the stage for ARK: Aquatica’s release, we are embracing the intersection of gaming and entertainment to reach new fans wherever they are and drive long-term value for the franchise. The success of ASE continues to serve as a foundation for future growth, and with a highly engaged community and strong performance benchmarks, we expect ARK: Aquatica to capitalize on this momentum upon release.”

As part of a larger marketing and media strategy, Snail Games broadcasted an ARK: Aquatica ad during the pre-show of How to Train Your Dragon live action remake, which opened to approximately $83.7 million at the domestic box office. This high-visibility media placement underscores Snail’s commitment to positioning ARK at the intersection of gaming and mainstream entertainment. Further reinforcing this vision, Snail also launched the official Steam page for “On My Way,” a standalone track created in collaboration with Luminati Suns for the ARK: Aquatica DLC. The song represents a continued push to expand the franchise into adjacent entertainment verticals and broaden audience engagement.

  • MIL-OSI: Following the Resumption of Federal Collection Activities in May, Nearly One in Three Federal Student Loan Borrowers Find Themselves at Risk for Default

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

CHICAGO, June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Less than two months since the U.S. Department of Education resumed collections activities among defaulted federal student loan borrowers, new research from TransUnion (NYSE: TRU) reveals that the number of consumers delinquent on student loans and at risk for entering default continues to climb. The analysis will be featured in a new TransUnion webinar titled Market Update: Student Loan Repayment Impacts on June 26th.

The updated analysis found that as of April 2025, the latest month for which data are available, 31.0% of federal student loan borrowers with a payment due are 90 days or more past due (90+ DPD) as reported by their servicer.1 This represents a sharp increase over the February 2025 figure of 20.5% reported as part of a previous TransUnion analysis in early May. It also stands at nearly triple the 11.7% figure from February 2020, just prior to the start of the pandemic. In addition, borrowers who have been newly reported as delinquent on their student loans have seen significant drops in their credit scores as a result, by an average of 60 points (based on VantageScore® 4.0).

The April 2025 rate of 90+ DPD delinquency represents the highest figure ever recorded. However, it does represent only a modest increase over March 2025’s 30.6% rate, which may indicate that more student loan borrowers are becoming aware of the importance of maintaining on-time payments.

The Percentage of Federal Student Loan Borrowers Reported as 90+ Days Past Due (90+ DPD) Has Increased an Additional 50% since February 2025

Source: TransUnion U.S. Consumer Credit Database

“We continue to see more and more federal student loan borrowers being reported as the 90+ days delinquent, making a larger number of consumers vulnerable to entering default and the start of collections activities,” said Michele Raneri, vice president and head of U.S. research and consulting at TransUnion. “That said, based on the relatively small increase between March 2025 and April 2025, it is possible that the figures are close to peaking. We will continue to analyze data in the weeks and months to come to see if that bears out.”

Millions of Delinquent Borrowers May Be Mere Weeks From Defaulting

The 31.0% delinquency figure in April 2025 is largely made up of borrowers who are not yet in default, with only 0.3% of borrowers already in that status. The total is made up of an estimated 5.8 million federal student loan borrowers who have been reported to TransUnion and other credit bureaus as 90+ days past due.

Approximately 180 days following the loan’s first 90+ DPD delinquency reporting, at 270 days past due, the borrower enters default status, where the borrower is subject to collection actions by the U.S. Department of Education. Of the 5.8 million newly delinquent borrowers, it is estimated that nearly one-third, approximately 1.8 million, could reach default status in July 2025. An additional one million of the 5.8 million total are estimated to reach default status in August 2025, followed by two million more in September 2025.

Raneri added that federal student loan borrowers who are at risk should contact their loan servicers as soon as possible to inquire about potential options that may exist to avoid defaulting. “Options may include income-driven repayment or other payment plans specific to their situation. There are also loan rehabilitation programs that may allow those who do default to get out of default status.”

The analysis also found that more than one in five federal student loan borrowers currently reported as 90+ DPD were in prime or above credit risk tiers prior to going delinquent. Following delinquency, fewer than one in 50 were prime and above. In fact, nearly every borrower not already subprime who ultimately fell 90+ DPD on their federal student loans shifted down at least one risk tier, with many, particularly those who were previously in the lowest risk super prime range, falling two or more tiers.

“This underscores the fact that student loan borrowers of any credit risk tier can find themselves falling behind in their payments and at risk for default, even during a time in which we’ve seen most consumers are managing their debt relatively well,” said Joshua Turnbull, senior vice president and head of consumer lending at TransUnion. “It’s important that lenders stay abreast of the true risk of the borrowers in their portfolio through the implementation of student loan-specific insights into regular portfolio reviews.”

To gain additional insights into how student loans are impacting the wallets of their potential customers, lenders can leverage TruVision Premium Student Loan Attributes to see details about student loan types, balances, and payment histories to help identify impacted consumers. • MIL-OSI: Agilitas Energy Expands into Hydropower with Acquisition of Two Projects in West Virginia and Maryland

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

WAKEFIELD, Mass., June 24, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —  Agilitas Energy, a leading developer and operator of renewable energy and energy storage systems, today announced the acquisition of two late-stage hydropower development projects from Advanced Hydro Solutions. Together, the 30-megawatt (MW) Tygart Hydropower Project in Grafton, West Virginia, and the 14 MW Jennings Randolph Hydropower Project in Garrett County, Maryland represent Agilitas Energy’s first-ever hydropower assets, the company’s first entry into both states and an expansion of its ability to provide stable, secure energy to U.S. power markets.

The projects will provide power to PJM (Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland) Interconnection, a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) and Independent System Operator (ISO) that manages the electric transmission system for 13 states and the District of Columbia. Agilitas Energy expects both projects to be operational in late 2028 and that the combined 44 MW capacity will generate enough clean, reliable and predictable energy to power over 15,000 homes annually.

Hydropower offers reliable baseload power, long asset lifespans of often more than 50 years and low operating costs, all qualities that make it a natural complement to Agilitas Energy’s growing renewable energy portfolio. This acquisition reflects the company’s commitment to diversifying its asset base and pursuing the most effective energy solutions, wherever and however they’re needed, to strengthen the grid and meet growing electricity demand.

“Hydropower diversifies Agilitas Energy’s portfolio of renewable projects with a reliable, baseload power asset that complements our existing solar and storage projects,” said Barrett Bilotta, CEO of Agilitas Energy. “These projects offer grid-stabilizing capabilities and help hedge against market volatility while reinforcing our strategy of using the right technologies in the right places to deliver dependable, clean energy across a growing range of markets.”

The Tygart and Jennings Randolph projects are set to stimulate local economies by creating jobs and investing in infrastructure. By providing affordable, renewable energy, these projects will promote community development and energy access in both rural and urban areas, while simultaneously addressing the growing demand for power across the nation.

“Hydropower remains one of the most proven and powerful tools for delivering reliable, renewable energy across the U.S.,” said Malcolm Woolf, President and CEO of the National Hydropower Association. “Agilitas Energy’s investment in these two projects underscores the growing recognition that hydropower must play a central role in our energy future. Companies like Agilitas Energy are stepping up to modernize the grid and expand access to reliable power.”

“We are very pleased to partner with Agilitas Energy”, said David Sinclair, President of Advanced Hydro Solutions. “Their focus on developing a balanced portfolio of high quality projects to completion is a superior strategy that fits so well for our company and these projects.”

Americans spend a lot of time on their screens. The images on those screens are made of pixels — tiny dots that represent a single point of color. Scientists from Penn State, including NSF Graduate Research Fellow Nicholas Trainer, recently discovered a process that can make the images on phones, monitors and TVs even brighter.

The Penn State research shows that light emitted from 2D materials can be changed by embedding a second, very small (80,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair) 2D material inside them, called a nanodot. By controlling the size of the nanodot through a process called quantum confinement, scientists can change the color and frequency of the emitted light.

On the left is an illustration of the experimental setup from this study. Molybdenum diselenide nanodots, represented by red triangles, are embedded in tungsten diselenide and encapsulated by hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) on top and bottom. A focused electron beam, shown in green, in a scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM) is aimed at the structure. The emitted light is collected to generate an intensity map. On the upper right is a dark-field STEM image of the molybdenum diselenide nanodot embedded inside tungsten diselenide. The contour of the nanodot is marked by dotted green lines. On the lower right is an artificially colored light emission intensity map of the same region, with the localized emission from the nanodot clearly visible

“Think about how OLED [technology used in our digital screens] displays work,” says Saiphaneendra Bachu, lead author of the study. “Each pixel has its own tiny light source behind it, so you can control the exact color or brightness of each one. This lets the screen show true black and accurate colors like red, green and blue. If you improve this process, you make the picture much sharper and more vibrant.”

Improved quantum computing has implications for fields ranging from cybersecurity (it could make one’s online presence, transactions and the wider web more secure) to developing new materials and drugs to improving the efficiency and accuracy of artificial intelligence/machine learning algorithms.

The nanodot discovery will have uses beyond sharper and more efficient displays on screens. The “quantum confinement” that the scientists achieved with the nanodots creates a type of fundamental particle called an “exciton” that transports energy but doesn’t carry a charge. Excitons influence how semiconductors behave, and being able to precisely control the excitons (which this new development allows) can lead to faster and more secure quantum computing.

  • South Korea special prosecutor seeks arrest warrant for ex-President Yoon

    Source: Government of India (4)

South Korea’s special prosecutor asked a court on Tuesday to issue an arrest warrant for former President Yoon Suk Yeol, an investigator said, as a probe intensified over the ousted leader’s botched bid to impose martial law.

Yoon, who is already facing a criminal trial on insurrection charges for leading the martial law declaration, was arrested in January after resisting authorities trying to take him into custody, but was released after 52 days on technical grounds.

The martial law attempt shocked a country that had prided itself on being a thriving democracy after overcoming military dictatorship in the 1980s and triggered a snap presidential election to pick Yoon’s successor amid bitter political infighting.

The new warrant is on a charge of obstruction, a senior member of the special prosecutor’s team of investigators said.

Yoon had refused to respond to summons for questioning as required under criminal procedures and investigators would “not get dragged around” by him, Park Ji-young, a deputy to the special prosecutor, told a televised briefing on YTN TV.

Lawyers representing Yoon said in a statement they had not been served a proper summons after the special prosecutor was appointed and that the former president would respond once it was served in a legal manner. Yoon had been under investigation by the police and the state prosecutors’ office on a number of charges stemming from the failed attempt in December to impose military rule.

In January, Yoon initially resisted an attempt by investigators trying to execute a court warrant for his arrest, holed up in the presidential residence while his security service led by officials loyal to him barricaded the gates.

The special prosecutor was appointed just days after liberal President Lee Jae-myung took office on June 4 after winning the snap election called after Yoon’s ouster in April and has launched a team of more than 200 prosecutors and investigators to take over ongoing investigations against Yoon.

Yoon is fighting the charges against him that include masterminding insurrection, which is punishable by death or life in prison, claiming he had declared martial law on December 3 to sound the alarm over the threat to democracy posed by the then-opposition Democratic Party.

  • Nari Shakti Festival brings Mahabharata’s Draupadi to life on Dubai stage

    Source: Government of India (4)

Dubai witnessed a vibrant celebration of Indian culture and women’s empowerment, as over 100 classical dancers performed Nari Shakti, a grand thematic dance spectacle that attracted a multinational audience of more than 2,000 both onsite and online. The production was entirely conceptualized, organized, and executed by women, with most props and costumes handmade. It was supported by several reputable organizations, including the Indian People’s Forum Cultural Council, Trescon, Indian Women in Dubai, Gulf Gelathiyaru, Karnataka Sangha Dubai, and UAE Tamil Sangam.

The production brought to life the story of Draupadi, a central figure in Mahabharata, dramatizing the war of Kurukshetra between the Kauravas and Pandavas. Through vivid costumes, dynamic choreography, and evocative narration, it conveyed the triumph of good over evil and the empowering strength of women. A highlight was Agni Kanye, an ambitious Bharatanatyam performance conceived by Guru Iswarya Bharadwaj, featuring 15 intergenerational acts with dancers aged five to fifty, celebrating the continuity and collaboration within the arts.

As part of the evening’s celebrations recognizing the contributions of women, the title of Nari Shakti was conferred on three women whose work and character embodied the spirit of feminine strength. The honourees were Karthika Vaidyanathan, a Carnatic singer and Filmfare Award winner; Puja Unni, a classical dancer; and Renuka Parameshwar, a Carnatic music teacher. They were honoured for their positive societal impact and for exemplifying the resilience and power symbolized by Draupadi.

Underlining the event’s inclusive spirit, the programme also featured performances by Divyangs alongside the main acts, highlighting the UAE’s ongoing commitment to fostering a tolerant and inclusive society where artistic expression transcends boundaries of age, nationality, and ability. The event reinforced Dubai’s growing stature as a global hub for culture and the arts. More than a platform for talent, the show served as a tribute to the UAE’s efforts to advance global artistic expression and provide spaces where creativity can thrive. The Nari Shakti festival demonstrated how cultural events can serve multiple roles, preserving traditional art forms, promoting cross-cultural harmony, and advancing social causes.
