  • MIL-OSI Security: Pacific Partnership 2025 Concludes Mission Stop in the Kingdom of Tonga, June 27, 2025

Source: United States Navy (Logistics Group Western Pacific)

NUKU’ALOFA, Tonga – Pacific Partnership 2025 concluded its mission stop in Nuku’alofa, Tonga with a closing ceremony at the Tanoa International Dateline Hotel on June 27, 2025.

Pacific Partnership 2025 strengthened bonds between the United States and Tonga through joint medical engagements, infrastructure improvements, and knowledge exchanges, fostering deeper understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

“The success of Pacific Partnership 2025 is a testament to the strength of the U.S.-Tonga partnership,” said Capt. Mark B. Stefanik, mission commander of Pacific Partnership 2025. “The experiences and relationships forged during this mission will serve as a foundation for continued collaboration and mutual support. We deeply appreciate the relationships formed during our time in the Kingdom of Tonga and the U.S. Navy looks forward to working with Tonga long into the future to address shared challenges and opportunities.”

During their stop in the Kingdom of Tonga, the Pacific Partnership medical team, consisting of U.S. Navy, Army, Public Health Service and Tongan Ministry of Health personnel, conducted over 30 community health engagements in the fields of Optometry, Clinical Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, and Nutrition. The joint U.S. and Tongan Optometry team engagements spanned eight days and distributed 350 prescription eyeglasses to local patients at Vaiola Hospital and Mu’a Health Center. The Nutrition and Dietetic component of the Pacific Partnership 2025 medical team reviewed and revised the Vaiola Hospital patient menu, training more than 25 food service attendants in food preparation, handling and storage as well as the development of tailored meals for hospital patients. The public health division of Pacific Partnership 2025 assisted and trained staff from the Ministry of Health on how to use a Palintest kit to collect and analyze the quality of water from six different public water source sites in order to identify and address several health concerns posed by harmful contaminants.
“I’m proud of the team supporting Pacific Partnership 2025: Tongans, Americans, and our other partners,” said Marcus R. Jackson, Chargé d’affaires, a.i. of United States Embassy Nukuʻalofa. “From engineering workshops to community health fairs, it has been inspiring to see Tongans and Americans working closely together. The friendship between Tonga and the United States is strong and long standing, and exercises like Pacific Partnership make that relationship practical.”

Sailors assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 4 (NMCB 4) and Tongan engineers forged the Pacific Partnership 2025 engineering team to create standard operating procedure manuals for the operation, maintenance and preservation of two Mobile Utilities Support Equipment generators, powering several health facilities at the Vaiola Hospital. Also at Vaiola Hospital, the NMCB 4 Sailors constructed and installed four storage shelves into the clinical pharmacy facility, contributing to a better organized and efficient medication filing system. The engineering team also worked together to break ground on the 2-month long renovation of a technical classroom building located on the campus of Tonga College ‘Atele, where local students learn and practice their technical and mechanical engineering trades.

Now in its 21st iteration, Pacific Partnership series is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster management preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Pacific Partnership works collaboratively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific.

  • MIL-OSI USA: McCaul Hosts Ceremony in Bastrop to Dedicate Post Office in Sergeant Major Billy D. Waugh’s Honor

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congressman Michael McCaul (10th District of Texas)

McCaul’s bill to dedicate the post office in honor of Sergeant Waugh became law in 2024

Bastrop, Texas  Today, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) honored a U.S. Army veteran and American military hero, Sergeant Major Billy D. Waugh, at a ceremony to officially dedicate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 1106 Main Street in Bastrop as the “Sergeant Major Billy D. Waugh Post Office.” McCaul hosted the event in conjunction with the family of Sergeant Waugh and the United States Postal Service.

“A member of the Greatest Generation, Sergeant Major Billy D. Waugh was a true American hero who dedicated himself to a life of courage, patriotism, and self-sacrifice,” said Rep. McCaul. “I’m amazed and inspired by the longevity of his service, which included time in the Special Forces — where he gained eight purple hearts — the Central Intelligence Agency, and even the United States Postal Service. Throughout his impressive career, he never lost his sense of duty, his patriotism, or his enduring love of freedom. I am proud to officially dedicate the Bastrop Post Office in his honor so all Texans can remember his incredible life of service and pay homage to this great American Hero.”

    McCaul delivers remarks at ceremony

McCaul with Sergeant Waugh’s family members

    Background:

During the 118th Congress, Rep. McCaul introduced a bill to designate the United States Postal Service located at 1106 Main Street in Bastrop, Texas, as the “Sergeant Major Billy D Waugh Post Office,” which passed Congress unanimously late last year.

Sergeant Major Billy D. Waugh was born December 1929 and raised in Bastrop, Texas. He served his country as an Army paratrooper and Special Forces soldier from 1948 to 1972, including seven years in combat during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He also was part of the first high-altitude, low-opening (HALO) combat parachute assault in military history.

For his service, Mr. Waugh received dozens of awards and medals, including eight Purple Hearts for his combat wounds — placing him third on the list of most Purple Hearts ever received. After retirement, he joined the United States Postal Service. Then, he once again served his country as a paramilitary operations officer in the Central Intelligence Agency, where he successfully pursued terrorists including Carlos the Jackal and Osama Bin Laden.

He eventually returned to his hometown of Bastrop and passed away in April 2023 at the age of 93.

KYIV, June 29 (Xinhua) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on Sunday that puts into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the country’s withdrawal from the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction (Ottawa Convention). The text of the decree was published on the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

As the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry explained later in its statement, official Kyiv took this step because Russia, not being a signatory to the Ottawa Convention, has been widely using anti-personnel mines in the armed conflict against Ukraine since 2022. The statement points out that because of this, Ukraine has found itself in an unequal and unfair situation that limits its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Roman Kostenko, in turn, stated on Facebook that in order for V. Zelensky’s decree on Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention to come into force, the relevant bill must be approved by the country’s parliament.

The Ottawa Convention was signed in December 1997. Ukraine acceded to the treaty in February 1999 and ratified it in May 2005. –0–

  • MIL-OSI Video: Syria, Lebanon, Israel – Presser by Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations | United Nations

    Source: United Nations (video statements)

Upon his return from the Middle East, Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix, today (27 Jun) told journalists in New York that Lebanese Armed Forces “have continued to strengthen their presence South of the Litani River,” with the support of the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL), while in the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) area of operations, Syrian authorities have indicated that they are ready to deploy “the military and security presence to all Syrian territory.”

Lacroix said in Lebanon, “there has been additional action with a view to identify and eventually neutralize caches of weapons, which is an important element in the implementation of a resolution 1701.”

Nevertheless, he said, “there continues to be violations, there continues to be more that needs to be done, again, to achieve a full implementation of that resolution.”

Lacroix commended General Aroldo Lázaro, “who was at the head of UNIFIL during extremely, extremely challenging time” and welcomed General Diodato Abagnara, who just took over as the new Force Commander.

UNDOF, he said, “is operating in a changed environment, where on the one hand, of course, there was this change in the political dispensation in Syria.”

The Under-Secretary-General noted “the presence of the Israeli Defence Forces in the area, the so-called area of separation, where according to the 1973 Disengagement of Forces agreement, only UNDOF can be present with a military presence.”

He said, “of course, the presence of the IDF in those areas is a violation, it’s quite clear.

Finally, he welcomed efforts “for de-escalation and the advancement of dialog in the DRC and in the wider Great Lakes region,” and said the UN “and particularly when it comes to MONUSCO, we are fully committed to supporting these efforts” and the implementation of a peace agreement.

In Washington DC today, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)and Rwanda signed a US-brokered peace deal which could bring peace to the eastern region of the DRC.

  • Israel orders evacuations in northern Gaza as Trump calls for war to end

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

The Israeli military ordered Palestinians to evacuate areas in northern Gaza on Sunday before intensified fighting against Hamas, as U.S. President Donald Trump called for an end to the war amid renewed efforts to broker a ceasefire.

“Make the deal in Gaza, get the hostages back,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform early on Sunday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was due to hold talks later in the day on the progress of Israel’s offensive. A senior security official said the military will tell him the campaign is close to reaching its objectives, and warn that expanding fighting to new areas in Gaza may endanger the remaining Israeli hostages.

But in a statement posted on X and text messages sent to many residents, the military urged people in northern parts of the enclave to head south towards the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Younis, which Israel designated as a humanitarian area. Palestinian and U.N. officials say nowhere in Gaza is safe.

“The (Israeli) Defense Forces is operating with extreme force in these areas, and these military operations will escalate, intensify, and extend westward to the city center to destroy the capabilities of terrorist organizations,” the military said.

The evacuation order covered the Jabalia area and most Gaza City districts. Medics and residents said the Israeli army’s bombardments escalated in the early hours in Jabalia, destroying several houses and killing at least six people.

In Khan Younis in the south, five people were killed in an airstrike on a tent encampment near Mawasi, medics said.

    NEW CEASEFIRE PUSH

The escalation comes as Arab mediators, Egypt and Qatar, backed by the United States, begin a new ceasefire effort to halt the 20-month-old conflict and secure the release of Israeli and foreign hostages still being held by Hamas.

Interest in resolving the Gaza conflict has heightened in the wake of U.S. and Israeli bombings of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

A Hamas official told Reuters the group had informed the mediators it was ready to resume ceasefire talks, but reaffirmed the group’s outstanding demands that any deal must end the war and secure an Israeli withdrawal from the coastal territory.

Hamas has said it is willing to free remaining hostages in Gaza, 20 of whom are believed to still be alive, only in a deal that will end the war. Israel says it can only end it if Hamas is disarmed and dismantled. Hamas refuses to lay down its arms.

The latest bloodshed in the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict was triggered in October 2023 when Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages, Israeli tallies show.

Israel’s subsequent military assault has killed more than 56,000 Palestinians, according to the Gaza health ministry, displaced almost the entire 2.3 million population, plunged the enclave into a humanitarian crisis and left much of it in ruins.

  • MIL-OSI: Bitcoin Solaris Presale Surges Past $5M as Phase 9 Begins, Offering Early Investors a 150% Upside Before July Launch

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

TALLINN, Estonia, June 29, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bitcoin Solaris (BTC-S), the next-generation blockchain platform focused on scalability and real-world utility, has crossed a major milestone in its ongoing presale—raising over $5 million as it enters Phase 9. With the token price now at $9 and a public launch target of $20, early investors are eyeing a potential 150% gain before the scheduled launch in just under six weeks. Amidst ongoing crypto market volatility, Bitcoin Solaris is emerging as a rare opportunity grounded in technical innovation, sustainability, and long-term value creation.

Introducing Bitcoin Solaris: Crypto Stability Meets Next-Gen Design

Bitcoin Solaris (BTC-S) is designed to offer scalability, energy efficiency, and everyday accessibility without sacrificing decentralization. By integrating a hybrid consensus model with cross-chain functionality and smart contract support, it delivers the tools needed for a sustainable and high-performance blockchain ecosystem.

One of the standout features is the dual-consensus architecture that merges Proof-of-Work for base-level security with Delegated Proof-of-Stake for speed and efficiency. This hybrid ensures that BTC-S remains secure while still handling up to 100,000 transactions per second on the Solaris Layer.

What Makes Bitcoin Solaris Technically Superior

The strength of BTC-S lies in its layered infrastructure. Let’s break it down:

    • Base Layer (PoW): Uses SHA-256, ensures security, and anchors validator data
    • Solaris Layer (DPoS): Processes blocks in 15 seconds, rotates validators daily, and enforces slashing for bad actors
    • Smart Contracts: Rust-based, compatible with Solana tools, and optimized for dApps and DeFi
    • Security: Defenses include 51% attack resistance, Byzantine fault tolerance, and optional zero-knowledge proofs
    • Scalability: Supports up to 3,000 TPS on the Base Layer and 100,000 TPS on the Solaris Layer

These features enhance performance and ensure long-term sustainability and growth.

    Real Utility Across Multiple Industries

Bitcoin Solaris isn’t just theory. Its architecture is built to support:

    • DeFi platforms, lending markets, and high-speed DEXs
    • Tokenized real estate and digital ID systems
    • Healthcare apps, educational certifications, and supply chain solutions
    • Gaming ecosystems, NFT marketplaces, and content monetization

With such a vast application layer, BTC-S is more than a coin—it’s an ecosystem ready to support global infrastructure.

The Rewards System: Designed for Inclusion and Long-Term Value

Bitcoin Solaris uses an inclusive reward system that balances incentives across all key roles in the ecosystem:

    • 40% of rewards go to miners securing the Base Layer
    • 25% to validators on the Solaris Layer
    • 20% to stakers supporting network stability
    • 10% funds development for future growth
    • 5% supports community initiatives

This dynamic approach evaluates factors like device type, network contribution, and user longevity. It ensures that rewards flow to those adding the most value.
More details about the system can be seen through the official documentation.

    Market Voices Are Taking Notice

A growing number of influencers are calling Bitcoin Solaris one of the most exciting projects of 2025. One detailed review by Token Empire breaks down why this hybrid model is capturing serious attention. Across Telegram chats and Twitter threads, more investors are highlighting BTC-S for its real-world potential and inclusive design.

    Presale Performance Signals Massive Potential

Investors are acting fast. The presale is now in phase 9, with the current price at $9 and a launch target of $20 a 150% upside for early believers. Over $5 million has been raised, and momentum continues to grow.

    • Bonus currently sits at 7%
    • Less than 6 weeks remain before launch
    • Over 12,300 users have joined
    • One of the shortest and most explosive presales this cycle

This is not just a token drop – it’s a timed opportunity. One of the most talked-about presales across influencer platforms and audit trackers.

And yes, both Cyberscope and Freshcoins have completed extensive audits, making this one of the best-reviewed launches of 2025.

    Final Verdict

Bitcoin Solaris doesn’t follow market hype—it rewrites the rulebook. At a time when most cryptocurrencies ride volatile waves, BTC-S is anchoring its value in real utility, community-driven validation, and inclusive mining. It offers something many thought was no longer possible in 2025: a fair shot at crypto wealth for the average investor.

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

A ceremony unveiling sculptures of “Flying Tigers” was held on Saturday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

The ceremony, with the theme of “Flying Tigers, United States and China Fighting Together,” attracted about 100 people, including “Flying Tigers” veterans, officials and representatives of Chinese communities in California.

The sculptures, featuring full-length statues of General Claire Lee Chennault and a Chinese soldier, were installed near Los Angeles International Airport.

The Flying Tigers, officially known as the American Volunteer Group of the Chinese Air Force, was formed in 1941 by Chennault to help China fight invading Japanese forces.

“It is so important that we remember the war that they fought so that we could live in peace,” said Nell Calloway, granddaughter of Gen. Chennault.

“China and the United States are the two most important countries in our world. With their friendship and lasting peace, the whole world will benefit from that,” she added.

Mel McMullen, a “Flying Tigers” veteran who attended the ceremony, said, “it’s great that we’re keeping the story and the history of General Chennault and our participation in the Second World War alive.”

“I think it’s great that we keep this memory alive because it’s something that we should all be proud of,” he said.

Pedro Castillo’s 2021 presidential victory marked a historic shift: a rural schoolteacher and union leader, propelled by Peru’s rural poor, Indigenous communities, and working-class voters, defeated Keiko Fujimori by just over 44,000 votes. Although he won by a narrow margin, his win nevertheless signaled a rupture with Lima’s political elite and a call for reform.

From the outset, his administration was besieged. A right-wing Congress, dominated by Fujimoristas, obstructed his agenda and launched three impeachment attempts in 18 months. Cabinet instability—dozens of ministerial changes in his first year—reflected both internal tensions and external obstructionism.

On December 7, 2022, facing imminent removal, Castillo announced the dissolution of Congress and called for new elections. Lacking institutional support, he was swiftly arrested and charged with rebellion, conspiracy, and abuse of authority. The stakes are high. Prosecutors are seeking a 34-year sentence. After his ouster, Dina Boluarte took office with right-wing backing, unleashing state violence against protesters—predominantly Indigenous and rural—that human rights groups have condemned as serious violations.

Critics argue Castillo’s case exemplifies the weaponization of legal tools to neutralize progressive leadership. For example, the vague constitutional clause of ‘moral incapacity’ was invoked during the impeachment process in lieu of a legitimate legal rationale. Moreover, his legal defenders maintain that his trial, now underway in a highly politicized climate, is marred by procedural irregularities and prolonged detention.

Castillo’s removal reveals the fragility of Peru’s democratic institutions when faced with demands for structural change. This episode also reflects a broader pattern in Latin America: the criminalization of leftist leaders who challenge entrenched power. Castillo’s plight is not just legal—it’s part of an ongoing struggle against oligarchic resistance to a politics of liberation.

  • India rejects Pak Army’s claims on Waziristan suicide attack, says statement deserves contempt

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday strongly rejected the Pakistan Army’s claim that India was behind the Waziristan suicide bomber attack.

“We have seen an official statement by the Pakistan Army seeking to blame India for the attack on Waziristan on 28 June. We reject this statement with the contempt it deserves,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a statement on X.

As many as 13 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 29 others injured, including 19 civilians, in a suicide attack early Saturday morning in the Khadi area of North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Citing security agencies, Pakistani media stated that a suicide bomber crashed an explosive-laden vehicle into a mine-resistant Improvised Explosive Device (IED) vehicle belonging to the Bomb Disposal Unit amid a curfew imposed due to military movement in the area.

The powerful blast resulted in the killing of 13 military personnel and injuring 29 people, including 19 civilians. There were reports of indiscriminate firing also, which caused injuries to 19 civilians, including women and children, in the area.

The Usud al-Harab organisation, a sub-faction of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group affiliated with Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) Pakistan, has reportedly taken responsibility for the suicide attack.

The Pakistani media said the attack came just days after two soldiers were killed and 11 terrorists were eliminated during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan.

The incident is termed as the deadliest attack in North Waziristan in recent months, raising serious concerns over the deteriorating security conditions in the area.

Last month, a car bomb exploded in the Gulistan Area of Qila Abdullah, a border area of Pakistan’s Balochistan province with Afghanistan, killing at least four people and injuring more than 20 others, eight of them critically injured. The explosion occurred in Jabbar commercial market situated on the Quetta-Chaman National Highway in Gulistan town, adjacent to the fort of Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC).

  • MIL-Evening Report: ‘Bridge for peace – not more bombs,’ say CNMI Gaza protesters

    By Bryan Manabat in Saipan

Advocacy groups in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) disrupted the US Department of Defense’s public meeting this week, which tackled proposed military training plans on Tinian, voicing strong opposition to further militarisation in the Marianas.

Members of the Marianas for Palestine, Prutehi Guahan and Commonwealth670 burst into the public hearing at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Garapan, chanting, “No build-up! No war!” and “Free, free, Palestine!”

As the chanting echoed throughout the venue on Wednesday, the DOD continued the proceedings to gather public input on its CNMI Joint Military Training proposal.

The US plan includes live-fire ranges, a base camp, communications infrastructure, and a biosecurity facility. Officials said feedback from Tinian, Saipan and Rota communities would help shape the final environmental impact statement.

Salam Castro Younis, of Chamorro-Palestinian descent, linked the military expansion to global conflicts in Gaza and Iran.

“More militarisation isn’t the answer,” Younis said. “We don’t need to lose more land. Diplomacy and peace are the way forward – not more bombs.”

Saipan-born Chamorro activist Anufat Pangelinan echoed Younis’s sentiment, citing research connecting climate change and environmental degradation to global militarisation.

    ‘No part of a war’
“We don’t want to be part of a war we don’t support,” he said. “The Marianas shouldn’t be a tip of the spear – we should be a bridge for peace.”

The groups argue that CJMT could make Tinian a target, increasing regional hostility.

“We want to sustain ourselves without the looming threat of war,” Pangelinan added.

In response to public concerns from the 2015 draft EIS, the DOD scaled back its plans, reducing live-fire ranges from 14 to 2 and eliminating artillery, rocket and mortar exercises.

Mark Hashimoto, executive director of the US Marine Corps Forces Pacific, emphasised the importance of community input.

“The proposal includes live-fire ranges, a base camp, communications infrastructure and a biosecurity facility,” he said.

Hashimoto noted that military lease lands on Tinian could support quarterly exercises involving up to 1000 personnel.

    Economic impact concerns
Tinian residents expressed concerns about economic impacts, job opportunities, noise, environmental effects and further strain on local infrastructure.

The DOD is expected to issue a Record of Decision by spring 2026, balancing public feedback with national security and environmental considerations.

In a joint statement earlier this week, the activist groups said the people of Guam and the CNMI were “burdened by processes not meant to serve their home’s interests”.

The groups were referring to public input requirements for military plans involving the use of Guam and CNMI lands and waters for war training and testing.

“As colonies of the United States, the Mariana Islands continue to be forced into conflicts not of our people’s making,” the statement read.

“ After decades of displacement and political disenfranchisement, our communities are now in subservient positions that force an obligation to extend our lands, airspace, and waters for use in America’s never-ending cycle of war.”

They also lamented the “intense environmental degradation” and “growing housing and food insecurity” resulting from military expansion.

“Like other Pacific Islanders, we are also overrepresented disproportionately in the military and in combat,” they said.

“Meanwhile, prices on imported food, fuel, and essential goods will continue to rise with inflation and war.”

Keokuk, IA – Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks joined fellow veterans, families, and community leaders to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of the newly completed Road of Honor, a revitalized stretch of South 18th Street that leads directly to the Keokuk National Cemetery.

The project was made possible by $960,000 in federal funding secured by Congresswoman Miller-Meeks, following years of community advocacy to improve access to one of the most sacred burial grounds for America’s veterans.

“As a 24 year Army veteran, I was proud to secure the Community Project Funding that brought this vision to life,” said Miller-Meeks. “The new Road of Honor ensures that every family can reach Keokuk National Cemetery safely and with dignity, to honor the heroes laid to rest there. I’m grateful to the City of Keokuk, our veterans’ organizations, and all the local partners who helped make this lasting tribute a reality.”

The Congresswoman was front and center for the ceremony, joining local officials and veteran leaders to mark the completion of a project that began with a community vision and was brought to life through federal partnership and determination.

    Background:

In 2022, Rep. Miller-Meeks secured the $960,000 in federal funding for the Road of Honor through Community Project Funding in the Fiscal Year 2023 Appropriations Bill.

Miller-Meeks attended the groundbreaking of the revitalized Road of Honor in April of 2024. At the time, local officials and members of the press credited her as the “driving force” behind its progress.

  • MIL-OSI USA: Senator Marshall: This is the Beginning of America’s Great Golden Era

    US Senate News:

Source: United States Senator for Kansas Roger Marshall
Senator Marshall Joins Fox News to Discuss the Reconciliation Bill, Medicaid, and Operation Midnight Hammer.
Washington – On Saturday, U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. (R-Kansas), joined Rich Edson on Fox News’ Fox News Live to discuss the Senate’s latest timeline to move the reconciliation bill forward, the negotiations around the SALT deduction, the best way to save Medicaid for those who need it most, and what’s next for America in the ongoing conflicts abroad.
Click HERE or on the image above to watch the full interview.
    On the Republican reconciliation bill:
“In my career as an obstetrician, I feel like this bill is three weeks past its due date. It’s time to have the baby. Everyone’s upset – that means we’re probably close to where it needs to be. We cannot blow this chance. This is the President’s legacy, his agenda. If you supported President Trump, you should support this bill. This will be the largest tax decrease in American history. We’re going to secure the border – a whole lot of other good things, but mostly this is the beginning of America’s great, golden era.”
On the SALT Deduction and its impact on negotiations:
“… Over in the house, I think we have a little tighter margin. And again, I think that what we asked the President to do here was split the baby, but he’s keeping the baby together. This is the best we can get. Speaker Johnson was there with us yesterday, negotiating this to the last second. I think everyone has thrown their best argument on the table – I think that’s a great step forward. I wish we were cutting more spending, including this, but this is the best bill that we can get through the finish line.”
On how to save Medicaid from disaster:
“Again, just because you have Medicaid doesn’t mean you have access to care. You pointed out that a third of doctors don’t accept Medicaid, and another third basically rule them out through the schedule. What our bill does is give a block grant for rural hospitals and for Community Health Centers. One of my three pillars of MAHA is making sure that everyone has meaningful, affordable access to primary care. Even Bernie Sanders agrees with me that these Community Health Centers are a great way to do that. I think that healthcare will be better.
“And in this bill, we absolutely preserve Medicaid for those who need it the most. We don’t touch seniors in nursing homes, people with disabilities, pregnant women, or children. So, we will protect Medicaid for those who need it the most. And on the other hand, we want to make sure everyone has access to care. We’ll do it through a block grant – I’m so proud of the work we’ve done here, as far as making health care more affordable and more accessible.”
On where the Medicaid savings will come from:
“So, the savings come from a couple of things. One, something called a provider tax, which is absolutely a scam, a money laundering scam, where you have one state, maybe getting 25 times more per person than what a state like Kansas is getting. So, we need to level out those provider taxes.
“And then, as we talk about people that may lose Medicaid, half of them are people that are on it fraudulently or through some type of error. And the other half will be those that are refusing to work 20 hours a day. Again, 60, 70% of Americans support some type of work requirements if you don’t have a disability, you’re working age, you don’t have a child under the age of 13, then I think it’s reasonable to ask people to work or volunteer for 20 hours a week.”
On what’s next for America in the Israel and Iran conflict:
“I think it will take them years just to restart their nuclear program. I think that they can’t control their airspace. They don’t have the will to do it. From what I’ve seen, I’m in shock and awe. You know, it’s shocking how much damage we did to their facilities. Obliterated is a great term. I’m in awe of our military, the great job that they did.
“Thanks to all those Air Force guys who did this off. I’m an Army guy, but I’m still going to salute them. They did a great job. And thanks to all of our soldiers over in the Middle East, I don’t see Iran getting back in this ball game for several years.
“Iran cannot have any type of nuclear bomb if they don’t want to move things in a different direction right now, then we need to double down on our sanctions. Whatever we need to do. Look, I don’t want boots on the ground. I’m tired of all the killing. I want all the killing to stop in Gaza, in Iran – all these different places, Ukraine. But at the end of the game, Iran cannot have a nuclear warhead.”

VILNIUS, June 28 (Xinhua) — Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia on Friday formally submitted notifications to the UN Secretary-General on their withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines.

The three Baltic states cited changing national security needs as the main reason for their coordinated decision to withdraw from the convention, which bans the use, stockpiling, production and transfer of anti-personnel mines.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys announced the move on Friday on the social media platform X. “Today, Lithuania officially notified the UN Secretary General of its withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention. This decision was not taken lightly,” said K. Budrys.

The Latvian Foreign Ministry noted that the security situation in the region has changed significantly since Latvia joined the convention. “Withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention will provide Latvia with the flexibility to act to strengthen deterrence and ensure the protection of the country and its population,” the Foreign Ministry said.

“By withdrawing from the Ottawa Convention, the Estonian Defence Forces will be able to more flexibly choose the weapons systems, means and methods necessary to strengthen the country’s defence capability,” said Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna.

The Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines was signed in 1997 and entered into force in 1999. Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia acceded to the convention in 2003, 2004 and 2005, respectively.

In recent months, the three Baltic countries have carried out internal legislative procedures to facilitate their withdrawal from the convention.

According to European media, Poland and Finland have also launched procedures to withdraw from the convention.

Under the convention’s rules, the withdrawal will take effect six months after the UN secretary general receives formal notification from each country. –0–

SANAA/JERUSALEM, June 28 (Xinhua) — Yemen’s Houthis launched a Zulfiqar ballistic missile that “successfully hit” a “sensitive” site in southern Israel, where an air raid siren was sounded for the first time since the ceasefire with Iran, rebel spokesman Yahya Saria said in an address on Al-Masirah TV on Saturday.

Earlier this week, the Houthis carried out “several military operations” against “sensitive” targets and military installations in the Israeli cities of Beersheba, Jaffa (Tel Aviv) and Haifa, using ballistic missiles and drones, he said. All operations were “successfully carried out,” Saria added.

The actions were “a form of support for the oppressed Palestinian people,” he said, vowing that the Houthis would continue their “supportive military operations until the aggression in Gaza stops and the blockade is lifted.”

In turn, the Israel Defense Forces /IDF/ reported that a rocket flying from Yemen towards Israel on Saturday morning “was most likely successfully intercepted.” –0–

    • “The Oakland County Democrat says her bill is in response to the Trump administration sending marines to Los Angeles during anti-immigration raid protests. ‘I’m going to continue to stand up and I’m going to continue to force these conversations when this level of chaos and disruption is wreaking havoc.’”

  • MIL-OSI USA: Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens to Introduce ‘Stop Trump’s Abuse of Power Act’

Source: United States House of Representatives – Congresswoman Haley Stevens (MI-11)

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens announced that next week she will be introducing the ‘Stop Trump’s Abuse of Power Act,’ which makes it illegal for the president to deploy active duty forces to a state or territory without a direct request from the executive of the state or territory.

The bill follows Donald Trump’s unlawful and unprecedented deployment of U.S. Marines to the streets of Los Angeles despite local leaders–including the Governor–and local law enforcement making it clear the President’s actions would increase tension.

“President Trump has shown a disturbing pattern of disregard for the Constitution and due process. This month, he made it harder for local law enforcement to do their jobs in California by unlawfully deploying our military on U.S. soil – further escalating tension and violence,” said Michigan Congresswoman Haley Stevens. “We must stand up to Donald Trump’s chaos and destruction, which is why I am introducing this legislation to limit his powers and make sure he cannot deploy troops on U.S. soil for his political gain. We are a nation of laws and it’s about time the President begins to follow them.”

The bill would add this language into the Insurrection Act of 1807 and would only apply to duties related to peaceful protests and demonstrations.
