Missing Work Furlough Inmate from O‘ahu Community Correctional Center
HONOLULU — O‘ahu Community Correctional Center work furlough inmate Bobby M. Cotton failed to return to OCCC Module 20 from his job-seeking pass. He was supposed to return by 5 p.m. today, Sept. 19, 2024. Sheriffs and the Honolulu Police Department were notified.
Cotton, 51, is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, approximately 177 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He is serving time for second-degree robbery. He now faces an additional escape charge when he is found. An escape charge is a Class C felony that is punishable by up to five years in prison, if convicted.
Cotton is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program with pass privileges. Community custody is the lowest classification status.
Anyone with information on Cotton’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or state Sheriffs at 808-586-1352.

During the afternoon meeting of the crisis staff in Wrocław, Prime Minister Donald Tusk presented conclusions from his visits to the Lubusz and West Pomeranian Voivodeships. The issue of controls on the border with Germany was also discussed, which, thanks to government intervention, should not be a problem in the event of a flood threat. Donald Tusk thanked the Minister of Interior and Administration for efficient operation. “I asked the Minister for European Union Affairs and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration to make the German side aware as quickly as possible that their decision on border control cannot interfere with our flood protection operations. I will want to know whether it has had an effect, whether the movement at the border is faster, so that we can intervene again, if necessary,” the head of government noted. The Prime Minister reminded that Poland is critical of Germany’s decision to restore control at the border. Preparations for major reconstruction In connection with the decision to appoint Marcin Kierwiński as the government plenipotentiary for the reconstruction of flood-affected areas, the Prime Minister announced accelerated actions. “Our ambition should be to turn this dramatic crisis into an opportunity; to make things better in these places than before the flood. Smarter, more modern. I believe we are able to ensure this,” declared the Prime Minister. The head of government announced that a preliminary assessment of actual damage and losses is needed. The moment the first large city – Opole – canceled the flood alarm, you can start thinking more boldly about your next steps. Funds for the reconstruction of destroyed towns come not only from the state budget and the European Union, but also – in a beautiful gesture of solidarity – from other voivodeships and cities. Officials should keep bureaucracy and procedural requirements to a minimum. Quick action against criminals preying on human tragedies. The Chief Commander of the Police informed during the staff meeting that officers had organized mobile posts to be able to respond more effectively to the needs of citizens. “Thank you very much for this ambitious intention to create mobile police stations in places where necessary, i.e. police officers who are on site – in a car, but in direct and constant contact with residents when necessary” – The Prime Minister commented on this initiative. Information was also provided about quick police interventions against people who, taking advantage of a dramatic situation, commit crimes. “Thank you for the good cooperation of all law enforcement and justice agencies. There are very good signs from the couple that they are caught immediately and sentenced immediately. I hope that this will continue,” concluded the Prime Minister. We have dispatched more dehumidifiers, which are needed in places affected by the flood. Providing the dehumidifiers is one of the main tasks. Pumps are still needed. Soldiers are directly involved in flood control operations today. Para bromear evacuation, protection of life and health, strengthening the embankments, tidying up the area, clearing communication routes. There is also great cooperation between the army and the Ministry of Infrastructure related to the construction and repair of road and rail connections. Reconstruction also means strengthening the embankments. For example, yesterday, the embankments were reinforced using Police helicopters in Lewin Brzeski – Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz noted. The Minister of National Defense informed about attempts to extort money on the Internet. So far, over 80 false collections have been identified and blocked by the services appointed for this purpose. The fight against disinformation is also ongoing. There are many collections in cyberspace that are dishonest. We have also engaged in the fight against this those troops related to the protection of cyberspace. The component of the Cyberspace Protection Troops is involved in the process of fighting fraudsters on the Internet. Detectives have launched a murder investigation after they discovered a man’s body in a Haringey flat.
Police were called at about 21:45hrs on Friday, 20 September, following concerns for the occupant of an address on Moselle Avenue, N22.
Officers attended and forced entry into the flat, where they discovered the man deceased.
He has been named as 40-year-old Marvin Dixon. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation. A special post-mortem examination held on Sunday, 22 September, found cause of death to be blunt force trauma.
On 22 September, a 36-year-old man was arrested in the Edmonton area on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a north London police station.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, Specialist Crime, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who has been to the flat in recent weeks and who may know the occupants – and also from anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area.
“It’s vital that we establish the movements of anyone who entered the property.”
Chief Inspector Lee Mckean, one of the senior officers responsible for policing Haringey, said: “We know that there will be genuine concern in the area and I would encourage anyone with information or concerns to speak with police. Additional officers will be in the area to support local people.”

Bern, 23.09.2024 – Federal Councillor Beat Jans took part in the meeting of justice ministers of German-speaking countries in Luxembourg on 22 and 23 September 2024. The traditional meeting covered current issues such as the digitalisation of justice, the challenges of juvenile criminal law and experiences with the recognition of a third gender. On this occasion, Federal Councillor Beat Jans emphasised the importance of an efficient and accessible justice system that is in line with societal developments.
The justice ministers noted that all participating countries are currently working on digitalising their judicial systems in order to improve access to courts, but also to reduce the administrative burden.
Legislative work is also underway in Switzerland to modernise justice and make it even more efficient. This digital transition will also facilitate access to the courts, in particular through the electronic communication of judicial documents. The digitalisation of justice also represents a societal challenge: not all citizens have the necessary tools to benefit from the advantages of digital technology. Justice must therefore remain accessible through ordinary channels for these people.
Juvenile criminal law and youth protection were also on the agenda for discussion. Swiss juvenile criminal law is an example of effectiveness: in Switzerland, the adult recidivism rate of previously convicted minors is 31%, a relatively low figure in international comparison. Discussions also focused on guardianship law, more specifically in connection with the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. One of the issues to be resolved in the context of the work currently underway in Switzerland concerns the repeal of general guardianship.
The justice ministers also discussed the recognition of a third gender. Germany and Austria have already adopted regulations to this effect. In Switzerland, various measures are being considered to improve the situation of non-binary people. A reform in force since 2022 also allows transgender people to change their gender indication in the civil status register simply and free of charge.
The traditional meeting of German-speaking justice ministers took place this year in Luxembourg at the invitation of Luxembourg’s Minister of Justice Elisabeth Margue. In addition to Federal Councillor Beat Jans, the working visit brought together Liechtenstein’s Minister of Justice Graziella Marok-Wachter, German State Secretary for Justice Angelika Schlunck and representatives of the Austrian Ministry of Justice.

New Jersey House Democratic candidate Sue Altman has disavowed several anti-law enforcement policies — including the “Defund the Police” movement — that she backed in past social media posts.
The former boss of the Garden State’s progressive Working Families Party has modified her past stances, telling NJ Spotlight News in an interview last week that she is “not in favor of defund the police.”

But as her campaign to unseat Republican Rep. Tom Kean in New Jersey’s 7th District was heating up last fall, a Democratic campaign operative tweeted out a screenshot showing she supported defunding the police — a post that has since been deleted.
“NJ’s Sheriffs … are overwhelmingly white and male, snuggled in w[ith] our massive county government, and control HUGE budgets,” Altman posted on Twitter, now X.
“Those of us working on #DefundThePolice in Jersey might consider looking here,” she added.
The screenshot did not include a date, but the profile image matches Altman’s Twitter profile photo between 2019 and 2021, according to archived posts from her account.

In response to the Metropolitan Police (Met) announcement of a new Race Action Plan, which promises a “communities-first, frontline focused, inclusive” policing model for Londoners, Green Party London Assembly Member Committee Zoë Garbett issued the following statement:
“I want to express my respect for the efforts of the many Londoners who contributed to the development of this new policy.
“However, I am deeply concerned that it has taken the Met almost two years to take a stand against racism after Baroness Casey’s initial report. Additionally, I fear that this new plan fails to address the most important demands of Londoners.
“The data is clear. Londoners do not want safer strip-searching policies for children: they want to prohibit strip-searching of all children.
“Overcoming the entrenched racism in the Met will require much more than just a shiny press release.”
With the country commemorating Heritage Day tomorrow, Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP) has called on citizens to practice responsible behaviour as they celebrate the public holiday.
“As we come together to celebrate our cultures, traditions, and diversity on Heritage Day, it is important to do so responsibly,” GTP spokesperson, Sello Maremane, said on Monday.
During Heritage Month in September, South Africa celebrates the nation’s diverse culture and rich heritage. This year’s national Heritage Day on 24 September will be commemorated at Meqheleng Stadium in Ficksburg, in the Free State, under the theme: “Celebrating the lives of our heroes and heroines who laid down their lives for our freedom”.
According to a Department of Sport, Arts and Culture statement earlier this month, this year’s theme puts a spotlight on South Africa’s liberation movements who received various forms of solidarity and support from neighbouring countries during the liberation struggle.
The GTP urged citizens to celebrate with caution.
“We encourage all citizens to do so responsibly and avoid taking part in unlawful activities such as public drinking, reckless and negligent driving, amongst other things,” said Maremane, adding that the Gauteng Traffic Police, together with the Gauteng Traffic Wardens and other law enforcement agencies will be on high alert to ensure safety on the road and in communities.
“We will continue to conduct law enforcement operations to address crime and lawlessness. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious incidents to their nearest police station or contact the Gauteng hotline on 0800 22 88 27/ hotline@gauteng.gov.za,” he said. –SAnews.gov.za
In 2020, Philadelphia had 499 homicides – nearly 150 more than the previous year. Gun violence worsened in 2021 – with 562 homicides that year – and then dropped slightly in 2022.
Fortunately, recent data shows a notable decline in these crimes over the past two years. As of late September 2024, homicides are down 40% for the year to date compared with 2023. And the number of shooting victims has decreased similarly – from 1,236 in the first eight months of 2023 to 758 for the same period in 2024.
As professors of criminal justice who live in Greater Philadelphia, we know that there is no single explanation for the drop in gun violence. Rather, many factors at both the local and national levels could be playing a role.
Police and justice system return to (sort of) normalcy
A shortage of police – driven by pandemic-era resignations, retirements and injuries – significantly affected cities like Philadelphia.
Additionally, the Philadelphia Police Department’s number of traffic and pedestrian stops dropped drastically. This was due to both the need to adhere to social distancing guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic and a widespread reluctance among officers to engage with citizens after massive protests in response to the murder of George Floyd. In fact, the number of documented stops plummeted by 83% from 2019 to 2020 alone.
Though up-to-date data is unavailable, there was a 31% drop in injury claims by December 2022, 10 months after the Inquirer investigation was published.
The post-pandemic resumption of court operations, improved violence intervention programs, police recruitment efforts and reduced disability claims may help explain the recent drop in shootings.
New leadership and crime-fighting strategies
Reducing gun violence was a top campaign issue during Philadelphia’s 2023 mayoral race.
While it’s not yet clear what effect the new unit has had in Philadelphia, research shows such units that prioritize resources to solving nonfatal shootings in places such as Boston and Denver have reduced gun violence.
More recently, the city began deploying mobile surge teams on weekends to flood high-crime areas with officers to deter potential criminal activity.
Meanwhile, Temple University attributes the reduction in crime within its patrol areas to the implementation of safety measures, including new equipment for officers such as firearms and radios, upgraded security cameras and advanced technology such as license plate readers, which help identify stolen vehicles or those linked to criminal behavior.

National crime trends
While local initiatives have likely contributed to Philadelphia’s drop in violent crime, these improvements also fit into national crime trends as cities across the U.S. experienced similar declines.
Economics and public safety expert John Roman, for example, attributes both the rise and fall of violence to pandemic-related losses in government staffing and functionality, which he argues returned to prepandemic levels in late 2023.
Roman shows how 1.3 million government jobs were lost nationally at the outset of COVID-19, with 75% of the losses coming at the local level. These local government employees, such as social and outreach workers, often connect people in marginalized communities that bear the brunt of gun violence to crucial services such as trauma counseling, victim advocacy and legal assistance.
In Philadelphia, approximately 3,000 local government jobs were lost between 2019 and 2022. The reopening of social services and increase in those jobs and community-based interventions post-pandemic may have helped stabilize Philadelphia’s neighborhoods.
Crime trends tend to ebb and flow. This current drop appears to align with a national de-escalation in violent crime. These factors, alongside the statistical phenomenon of regression to the mean – where crime rates normalize after extreme spikes – apply to both national and local crime rates.
Some researchers, including Roman, have also considered the possibility that the recent 2020-2022 homicide peak killed a portion of the most violent offenders who drive shootings in their neighborhood. It’s based on the concept of the victim-offender overlap that those at the highest risk of violence are often offenders themselves.
But crediting Philadelphia’s decline in homicides and violent crime to any single cause oversimplifies a much more intricate picture. While the exact causes of these shifts are complex, understanding the interplay of local and national forces is essential to sustaining this positive trajectory.

“I’m very sad to say that we have launched a murder investigation following the stabbing of a teenager last night, Sunday 22 September, in Greenwich.
“Police were called at about 6.35pm to reports of a disturbance on Eglinton Road in the Woolwich area.
“Our officers attended and found a 15-year-old boy with a stab injury. Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, sadly he died a short time later.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers from the Met.
“Once again we have had to tell a child’s family that their loved one has been killed in an act of violence using a knife. Our thoughts are with them as they struggle to comprehend what has happened.
“The fact that a 15-year-old teenager, who had his whole life ahead of him, has been taken from his family in this way, is a stark and sobering reminder of the danger of ‘zombie-style’ knives. We are committed to doing everything in our power to taking these weapons off our streets.
“We know that this murder will also send shockwaves throughout the community and I understand the genuine concern this will create. We share those concerns.
“You can expect to see your local officers in the area over the coming days. Please speak with them if you have any questions or need any support or advice.
“Local teams are working closely with the specialist homicide detectives so that we can establish exactly what happened as quickly as possible. Enquiries continue at pace today.

BOSTON — Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston apprehended a 25-year-old, unlawfully present Dominican noncitizen convicted of possessing child sexual abuse material in Massachusetts. Officers with ERO Boston arrested Enrique Alberto Ortiz-Brito Sept. 12 in Dorchester.
“Enrique Alberto Ortiz-Brito was convicted for possessing sick and disturbing sexual material,” said ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons. “He posed a significant threat to the children of our Massachusetts community that we could not tolerate. ERO Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders.”
U.S. Customs and Border Protection lawfully admitted Ortiz into the United States Dec. 16, 2016, in Boston. However, Ortiz violated the terms of his lawful admission.
ERO lodged an immigration detainer with the Boston Police Department against Ortiz Aug. 31, 2017, following his arrest for possession of child sexual abuse material. Later that day, the Dorchester District Court released Ortiz from custody on a GPS monitoring system pending the outcome of his criminal case.
The Suffolk County Superior Court convicted Ortiz of possession of child pornography. The court sentenced him to a split sentence with a term of one year with 30 days to serve (deemed served) in the house of correction followed by three years of probation with numerous conditions, including sex offender registration.
Officers from ERO Boston arrested Ortiz Sept. 12 in Dorchester and served him with a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge. He remains in ERO custody.
Detainers are critical public safety tools because they focus enforcement resources on removable noncitizens who have been arrested for criminal activity. Detainers increase the safety of all parties involved — ERO personnel, law enforcement officials, removable noncitizens and the public — by allowing an arrest to be made in a secure and controlled custodial setting as opposed to at-large within the community. Because detainers result in the direct transfer of a noncitizen from state or local custody to ERO custody, they also minimize the potential that an individual will reoffend. Additionally, detainers conserve scarce government resources by allowing ERO to take criminal noncitizens into custody directly rather than expending resources locating these individuals at-large.
ERO conducts removals of individuals without a lawful basis to remain in the United States, including at the order of immigration judges with Department of Justice’s Executive Office for Immigration Review. The Executive Office for Immigration Review is a separate entity from the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Immigration judges in these courts make decisions based on the merits of each individual case, determining if a noncitizen is subject to a final order of removal or eligible for certain forms of relief from removal.

September 21, 2024, Head of Cardigan,PEI –Kings District RCMP is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred on the 48 Road in Head of Cardigan.
September 20, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Kings District RCMP, Fire Departments and Island EMS responded to a single vehicle crash on the 48 Road in Head of Cardigan. RCMP officers learned that a car had left the road and came to rest in a ditch.
The driver of the vehicle, a 35-year-old Kings County woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene and a child was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.
A collision reconstructionist attended and the investigation is ongoing.
The 48 Road was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Top perpetrators of Violence Against Women and Girls to be targeted under new data-driven National Strategy
Women and girls will be better protected under a new national strategy using advanced data analysis and algorithms to relentlessly target the most dangerous perpetrators of abuse.
This initiative is part of an ambitious, unprecedented mission to reduce such violence by 50% within the next decade. It will see police forces use new data-driven tools to focus on the small number of offenders responsible for the highest levels of harm.
Working closely with the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), and the College of Policing, the Home Secretary will oversee the development of a new national approach to the use of these data-driven tools – which use computer programmes to bring together and analyse a range of police data to identify and pursue offenders involved in domestic abuse, sexual assault, harassment, and stalking.
These tools, used alongside police officers’ expert judgment, will help law enforcement prioritise and pursue the most dangerous offenders, enabling a more effective allocation of police resources.
The government is committed to providing both local and national capabilities to tackle these devastating crimes and ensure law enforcement agencies pursue the most prolific offenders.
In addition, the technology will assist in building risk profiles for both perpetrators and victims, enabling law enforcement and partner agencies to implement robust management plans that disrupt offenders’ behaviour and enhance victim safety.
This new approach will standardise the use of predictive technologies across police forces, ensuring those who pose the greatest threat are identified and managed through the criminal justice system or community-based, multi-agency interventions.
The Home Office funded National Police Chiefs’ Council’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Taskforce will lead the charge in creating a framework for forces to follow. This framework will focus on identifying and managing the most dangerous offenders and drive forward a consistent national approach that allows those in operational policing to help meet the ambition to halve violence against women and girls in a decade.

Pictou County District RCMPis investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Thorburn.
On September 21, at approximately 6:30 a.m., Pictou County District RCMP, fire and EHS, responded to a report of a vehicle crash in the 9000 block on Sherbrooke Rd. Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP officers learned that a blue Honda Civic was travelling on Sherbrooke Rd. when it left the roadway and entered the ditch.
The driver and sole occupant of the Honda, a 19-year-old Blue Mountain man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, and isbeing assisted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.

NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today announced that 180 firearms were turned in at a community gun buyback event in Amsterdam hosted by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and the Amsterdam Police Department. This event was part of Attorney General James’ ongoing effort to combat gun violence and keep New Yorkers safe. In addition to the guns turned in at the Amsterdam event, Attorney General James secured an additional 82 firearms from a community gun buyback event in Saranac Lake, bringing the total number of guns secured today to 262. To date, Attorney General James has removed more than 7,662 guns from New York communities since taking office in 2019.
“Every gun taken off our streets and out of our homes is a potential tragedy averted,” said Attorney General James. “Gun buyback events empower members of local communities and nearby regions to turn in their firearms and be part of the solution against gun violence. Through strong partnerships with local law enforcement, my office has been able to run successful gun buyback programs throughout New York state, and has helped local communities remove more than 7,662 firearms. I thank the City of Amsterdam’s Police Department, and all of our partners in today’s gun buyback event, for their commitment to helping safeguard New Yorkers.”
Today’s buyback event in Amsterdam resulted in 180 guns being turned in, including 17 assault weapons, 100 handguns, and 47 long guns. Following today’s gun buyback events held in Amsterdam and Saranac Lake, Attorney General James has helped remove more than 7,650 guns out of New York communities.

Police and emergency services responded to reports of a serious three-vehicle traffic crash on the Bass Highway at Exton about 9.30pm last night. Preliminary investigations indicate that a Black MG was travelling west on the Bass Highway when it veered into the east bound lane before colliding with a silver Mazda Tribute and causing a black Toyota 86 to collide with the rear of the Mazda. The passenger of the MG was treated by paramedics at the scene for serious leg injuries before being taken to the Launceston General Hospital. They were later transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital for further treatment. The driver of the MG, the driver and passenger of the Toyota and the driver of the Mazda were all taken to the Launceston General Hospital with minor injuries. The Bass Highway was closed for about two and a half hours to allow emergency services to examine the scene and conduct inquiries. Health Minister Dr Shane Reti says urgent action is being taken to restrict the sale of nitrous oxide and welcomes new advice from Medsafe highlighting tougher penalties if sold for recreational purposes.
“Nitrous oxide has several legitimate uses, but we also know it is increasingly being used as a recreational drug,” says Dr Reti.
“Smokefree enforcement officers have even reported seeing nitrous oxide products – nangs – for sale in vape stores. This is extremely concerning.
“Given the significant risks and the potential for long-term damage, and a number of overlapping portfolios in this area, last month I requested officials look at options on the Government’s behalf to address it.
“Last week, I received advice from the Ministry of Health about a change in approach that would clarify the law for suppliers and users of nitrous oxide. This will enable Police to prosecute the sale and use of nitrous oxide for recreational use.”
Whereas nitrous oxide had been considered under the Medicines Act 1981, Medsafe now advises that when it’s sold primarily for the purpose of inducing a psychoactive effect, the Psychoactive Substances Act 2013 applies.
No products containing nitrous oxide have been approved for use under the Psychoactive Substances Act, making it illegal to sell nitrous oxide or products containing nitrous oxide for recreational use. A breach of this regulation is punishable by either prison time or a fine.
“The proliferation of nangs – particularly targeted at our young people – is a significant public health issue with potentially serious consequences.
“Police and health professionals have reported recreational use of nitrous oxide is on the rise, a trend seen in other countries like Australia and the UK.
“This reinforces the gravity of the situation and the need for swift action. This cannot continue.
“I have directed the Ministry of Health to monitor the effectiveness of this change and provide ongoing advice about whether further restrictions are necessary to keep New Zealanders safe,” Dr Reti says.
On September 20, 2024 at approximately 8:50 p.m., Wynyard RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway #16 about two kilometers north of Dafoe, SK.
Officers responded along with local fire and EMS. Investigation determined a semi and truck collided. The driver and sole occupant of the truck was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 53-year-old female from north Vancouver, BC. Her family has been notified.
The driver of the semi was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
Highway #16 was closed during the initial investigation but has since re-opened. A Saskatchewan RCMP Collision Reconstructionist had attended. Wynyard RCMP continue to investigate in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

Police can now name the deceased man in the ongoing homicide investigation in Levin.
Terrence Clough, aged 57, died at a Chester Street property on Thursday evening after being assaulted.
A post-mortem has now been completed, and Terrence’s body was returned to his family last night.
The 31-year-old male who appeared in Levin District Court on Friday charged with murder, was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in the High Court at Palmerston North on 11 October.
The investigation is ongoing to establish the events that led to Terrence’s death, and as part of that Police are seeking information from the public.
We are keen to speak with anyone that was in the area of Chester Street and Levin North School between 9:30pm and midnight on Thursday 19 September.
We are particularly interested if you saw a male walking by himself in dark clothing – it is believed that he had no shoes on.

Annapolis District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 76-year-old Donald Illsley. He was last seen at approximately 7:00 a.m. on September 21, 2024.
Illsley has grey/white hair. He’s approximately 5’11, 160 lbs, slender build. When last seen, he was wearing a red plaid shirt with suspenders, grey pants, rubber boots and a black hat. Illsley may also be wearing glasses. He was last seen on Ben Phinney Rd. in Forrest Glade

On September 21, 2024 at approximately 4:15 a.m., a Meadow Lake RCMP officer observed two individuals operating an ATV without wearing helmets in Meadow Lake, SK.
The officer activated their emergency lights in an attempt to stop the ATV but it continued at a high rate of speed on Highway #55 towards Flying Dust First Nation. The officer didn’t pursue, deactivated their emergency equipment and observed the ATV turning south off the highway where it subsequently struck the ditch.
The officer immediately responded. One of the occupants was unresponsive and EMS was called to the scene. Life-saving measures were attempted; however, the individual was declared deceased by EMS. She has been identified as a 14-year-old female from Flying Dust First Nation. Her family has been notified. The second occupant reported minor injuries and was treated by EMS on scene.
Meadow Lake RCMP continues to investigate with the assistance of the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.
Police are investigating a crash involving two motorcycles that occurred about 10.50am this morning on Hylands Road, Murdunna. A 18-year-old man was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious but stable condition by helicopter. A 16-year-old youth presented to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigations into the crash are continuing and police would like to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash. Northern Territory Police have called off the search for missing person Mr M. Graham after locating human remains this afternoon.
Mr Graham was last seen by family members on Monday morning after leaving in a silver Ford vehicle. The vehicle was located some distance from Tennant Creek on Tuesday night and a concentrated search effort was launched on Wednesday.
Police utilised motorcycle, All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), mounted patrols, a cadaver dog, drone and a helicopter to supplement the foot search of the rough terrain for Mr Graham.
Formal identification is still required, however, Northern Territory police are confident the remains are that of the missing person.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
Whilst it is a sad day for the family, they are grateful that his remains have been located. The family has expressed thanks to the police and volunteers who searched for Mr M. Graham.
Northern Territory Police would like to thank all the volunteers who assisted in the search and to those who provided police valuable information.
