    Residents of 83 old houses received apartments in 45 new buildings built under the renovation program in the northeast of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.

    “In the north-east of Moscow, the renovation program began in 2018 and today covers 14 of the 17 districts. Residents of 83 old houses – more than 14.4 thousand people – signed contracts for new apartments in 45 new buildings. The largest number of housing units under the renovation program were received by residents of the Babushkinsky District. Here, more than 3.5 thousand people became title holders, about 2.3 thousand city residents registered documents for apartments in the Losinoostrovsky District, and almost two thousand residents – in Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo,” Vladimir Efimov noted.

    In two districts of the North-Eastern Administrative District, the renovation program has been fully implemented. In Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo and Severny, all of its participants — about 1.9 thousand and almost two thousand people, respectively — have moved to modern residential complexes.

    “Since the beginning of the year, more than 2.1 thousand people have signed contracts for new apartments with the Department of City Property in the North-Eastern Administrative District. This year, active resettlement is taking place in the Losinoostrovsky and Ostankinsky districts, as well as in Maryina Roshcha, where in total more than 1.3 thousand Muscovites have received new housing,” clarified the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of City Property

    In total, 499 buildings in the North-Eastern Administrative District, in which more than 86 thousand city residents live, are included in the renovation program. As reported by the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Urban Development Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky, 63 houses have already been resettled in the north-east of the capital. Of these, 20 buildings are located in the Babushkinsky District, 10 each in Yuzhnoye Medvedkovo and Losinoostrovsky. City residents received modern apartments with high-quality finishing and improved repairs in accordance with the standards of the renovation program.

    Currently, 28 new buildings are being designed in the north-east of the city, and another 27 houses are under construction. Near the residential complexes there are landscaped adjacent territories, comfortable recreation areas, sports and children’s playgrounds.

    Earlier Sergei Sobyanin reported, that 1.2 trillion rubles have been allocated in the draft budget for three years to implement the renovation program.

    Renovation program approved in August 2017. It concerns about a million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 houses. In 2023 alone, 59 new buildings in the capital were handed over for settlement and the resettlement of over 47 thousand people was ensured.     The LXXVII National Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists “Current Issues of Modern Construction” was held at the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering from October 15 to 18.     Several reports at the architectural design section were devoted to the topic of Arctic development. Nikita Milov, a second-year master’s student at the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture, presented a report entitled “Functional Zoning of a Site and Planning Structure of a Marine Terminal in the Northern Conditions (the City of Kandalaksha)” (supervised by Aleksey Mikhalychev, Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural Design).

    According to the author of the report, Kandalaksha can become a cultural and tourist hub for water routes of river and sea cruise transport. Nikita proposed breathing new life into this city by creating a new sea passenger terminal in it. It could include hotels, exhibition transformable spaces, and office centers.

    Museum complexes are necessary in the cities of the Far North, says Artem Martynenko, a second-year master’s student at the Faculty of Architecture of our university (his academic supervisor is Associate Professor of the Department of Architectural Design Sergey Ivanov). According to Artem, the development of territories located in the Arctic zone is one of the main tasks of the Russian Federation. To do this, it is necessary to create a pleasant, well-maintained environment, including for cultural leisure. It is also worth considering the modern policy aimed at patriotic education of youth and awakening interest in studying the history and culture of our country. Given these factors, the design and construction of museum complexes is becoming an urgent task for architects. Artem formulated the principles of designing museum complexes beyond the Arctic Circle: multifunctionality, which allows the complex to gather the maximum number of consumers and remain in demand all year round, taking into account climatic features when choosing design solutions, etc.

    Anzhelika Ivanikhina, a fourth-year bachelor’s student at the Faculty of Architecture (supervised by Milena Zolotareva, Deputy Dean for Research, Associate Professor of the Department of History and Theory of Architecture), spoke about the algorithm for using generative neural networks to form an architectural concept using the example of creating a glamping site at the section on the history and theory of architecture. The audience learned how work on one of the projects was carried out in the workshop where the student works. According to Anzhelika, there is nothing wrong with using generative neural networks. You need to start with analyzing the territory and the initial data; then you should develop a functional plan and functional zoning, determine the concept of a specific part of the general plan and develop sketches. After that, you can start creating a prototype for the neural network, then analyze and adjust it. The final stage will be color correction of the result, post-processing in editing programs.

    The architectural and spatial features of Omsk, using the central part of the city as an example, became the topic of the report by the second-year undergraduate student of the Faculty of Architecture Arina Peteshova (supervised by Milena Zolotareva). Arina believes that the central part of Omsk has unique architectural and spatial characteristics that can be successfully used for the further development of the city. It is necessary to optimize the planning of the urban environment, pay attention to the development of integration solutions for historical and modern buildings, and study the impact of new architectural projects on the existing urban structure.

    The creation of tools for processing data on the working hours of the organization’s employees is being carried out by a second-year master’s student of the Faculty of Engineering Ecology and Urban Economy Egor Abramov under the supervision of the acting head of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies Olga Yarkova. Egor gave a report on the topic of his research at the section of information systems and technologies. The student analyzed the information environment of the enterprise, formulated the requirements for the developed tools, and determined the methods and technologies for implementation. The researcher plans to develop an application for solving work tasks and performing additional functions.

In one of the pillboxes of the Sebezh fortified area, students of the State University of Management and the Russian Technical University of Radio Engineering and Electronics set up an exhibition, the exhibits of which are items from the Great Patriotic War found on the territory of the fortified area, and which can be visited during a shift as part of an organized excursion.

    Students of the State University of Management took part in 10 expeditions, including search operations in the Sebezh fortified area at the sites of battles of the Great Patriotic War, went to the Arctic to clean up scrap metal – about 120 tons of scrap metal were collected, helped restore a kindergarten in the territory of the ethno-settlement “Land of Hope” (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug).

    Having assessed the high activity and involvement of students in expedition trips, a decision was made to open our own expeditionary corps in order to expand the possibilities and geography of travel.

    One of the key environmental actions this year was the planting of 24 thousand seedlings by employees of Bashneft-Dobycha (a subsidiary of Bashneft) in the Asly-Kul nature park in the Davlekanovsky district of Bashkiria. This is a continuation of a large-scale program aimed at preventing the swamping of Aslikul, the largest lake in Bashkortostan. Last fall, Bashkir oil workers began restoring the forest around the northwestern part of the reservoir. In total, the company’s employees planted 68 thousand pine seedlings and 10 thousand larch seedlings in this nature park, resulting in three forest areas with a total area of 19.5 hectares.

    Experts from the Biology Research Center of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences believe that the creation of a coniferous forest in the northwestern part of Lake Aslikul will help stop the process of swamping of the banks and preserve the reservoir for future generations.

    In just the last 5 years, thanks to the initiatives of Bashkir oil workers, more than 5.2 million trees have been planted on an area of over 1.5 thousand hectares. Young green areas will soon form full-fledged coniferous forests, which will contribute to the restoration and preservation of the ecological balance.

    The Polytechnic delegation visited the capital of Belarus, Minsk. Our university was represented by Acting Director of the PhysMech Institute Alexey Filimonov, Advisor to the Rector’s Office Vadim Korablyov, and Associate Professor of the Higher School of Engineering Physics Vyacheslav Bondarenko. The program of the trip included discussion of cooperation prospects and participation in scientific events.

    The visit began with a working meeting at the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It is headed by the Head of the Department of Aerospace Activities of the NAS, Academician Pyotr Vityaz. During the discussion, in which the Director of the Institute of Applied Physics of the NAS, Professor Mikhail Kheifets, also took an active part, the scientists considered a number of promising areas for joint research.     Polytechnicians took part in the XI International Scientific Conference “Materials and Structures of Modern Electronics”, which is traditionally held at the Physics Department of the Belarusian State University. Specialists present to the scientific community the main results of experimental and theoretical research in the field of semiconductor physics, condensed matter and nanotechnology. More than 50 oral reports were heard at the conference.

    The team of polytechnics presented two reports. The first report “Natural size effect in heterocontacts” is devoted to obtaining information about the nature of the electronic properties of the surface of semiconductors and contact structures. Our scientists showed the results of a study of the natural size effect in semiconductor heterocontacts during the distribution of space charge on point and extended linear defects, which is extremely relevant in debugging the technology of manufacturing modern electronic devices on heterojunctions.

    The second report, written in collaboration with colleagues from the A. A. Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences, was called “Magnetostriction anomalies and magnetocaloric effect of rare-earth Laves phases based on cobalt.” It presented the results of comprehensive studies of the structure and magnetic properties of practically significant rare-earth alloys, as well as the study of anomalies in the area of phase transitions using various techniques.

    On the sidelines of the conference, several working meetings were held with the Director of the B. I. Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Academician S.   • MIL-OSI Russia: “We managed to hold a real hackathon, when there is no pre-defined pipeline on how to get a solution”

    From October 13 to 20, the HSE University held a hackathon “HSE AY Assistant Hakk: Pothon”, organized Faculty of Computer Science And Center for Artificial Intelligence HSE. 89 student teams from the country’s leading universities competed for prizes.

    The challenge asked participants to use LLM and other machine learning algorithms to create an AI assistant that would help student programmers and developers solve Python problems by understanding where an error was made in their code and offering step-by-step explanations and recommendations for fixing it without explicitly providing the corrected code.

    The competition lasted seven days, five of which were held online on the DS Works platform from the cloud technology provider Cloud.ru. The opening and final days were held in the HSE building on Pokrovsky Boulevard.

    16 teams that were among the top ranking teams based on the quantitative metrics obtained for their solution were allowed to defend their projects.

    The jury included experts from the Center for Artificial Intelligence,Sber’s basic department “Financial technologies and data analysis”, teachers of the Faculty of Computer Science and the projectDate Culture.

    The victory was won by the team “MISIS Computer” from the University of Science and Technology MISIS. The second place was taken by the team MMG from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The bronze was won by the team Selling Pandas, consisting of first-year students of the program“Applied Mathematics and Computer Science” HSE Faculty of Computer Science. The winners received cash prizes of 250,000, 200,000 and 150,000 rubles, respectively.

The Higher School of Economics is a recognized leader in training personnel in the field of AI. But we are going further and setting ourselves more ambitious goals, including automating routine tasks related to the development of AI technologies. We chose the hackathon format because it allows students to test and prove themselves by solving important and new problems. The competition participants spent a whole week developing a solution, and during this time, I am sure, they managed not only to find a worthy solution, but also to gain experience and develop their human capital. And the results obtained are a contribution to our digital future.

    — “HSE AI Assistant Hack: Python” is unique in that it combines several important areas of HSE:teaching digital skills to students of all disciplines Andcreation of AI assistants, including in the educational process.

    This time we managed to hold a real hackathon, when there is no pre-defined pipeline on how to get a solution.

    Participants had the opportunity to adapt language models to help the student step-by-step understand the problem while writing code, rather than simply providing a ready-made solution.

    Based on the results of the defenses, variants were proposed with enrichment with synthetic data, and with advanced aroma engineering, and with RAG approaches, and even with additional LLM training. This exceeded our expectations.

    We intend to use the best solutions for implementation in HSE Smart LMS and provide an AI assistant for both students and teachers when learning Python.

    The teams that won prizes also shared their impressions.

    First place – the team “MISIS Computer”

    — The hackathon was really cool, our team has a lot of experience participating in hackathons, and we know firsthand what a quality organization is. This hackathon had a really great organization, a good leaderboard, clear metrics and, most importantly, active organizers and experts who promptly answered questions and were in touch. Special thanks to Maxim — for his openness and cool expertise on the task. The results of the hackathon will not pass by HSE, the organizers are going to implement the best solutions in the university systems. Thanks to the organizers, experts and participants for such an interesting competition! We will be back!

    Second place – MMG team

    — Our team took part in the hackathon with great pleasure. We were especially pleased that it was technical and research-based, without a business component, and that the task was very relevant and in demand. Despite the fact that for most of us such a deep dive into working with LLM was the first time, we successfully coped with it, mastered new technologies and gained valuable experience.

    It was an honor for us to represent the Financial University at this event. We would like to express special gratitude to the organizers for their constant support. They quickly resolved any difficulties that arose and were always in touch, which created comfortable conditions for work. We are glad that we were able to take part in this hackathon and take such a high place!

    Third place – Selling Pandas team

    — This was our first hackathon, which essentially consisted entirely of using fine-tuning LLMs (large language models). It was not easy, but it is precisely such competitions that bring the most pleasure, when you need to create a solution in a limited time in a practically new area for you.

    By the end of the hackathon, we didn’t even want it to end, as there were still ideas that we hadn’t managed to implement. We were also very pleased with the organization of the hackathon: they always provided clear information and promptly answered all questions. We are very happy that we managed to take the prize place.

This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

    “Development of tourism infrastructure is a complex task that the Government is solving on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin. Thanks to the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, we are increasing the availability of recreation for Russians and creating new routes. Traveling around Russia is safe, accessible and comfortable. Today, 56 national routes unite 50 regions, allowing travelers to see interesting sights of our country. In this way, we are popularizing domestic tourism, revealing the potential of the regions,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

    Dmitry Chernyshenko added that national routes run through all federal districts, and the leader in their number is the North-West, where 16 routes have received national status.

    Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov spoke about the advantages of new national tourist routes.

    “National tourist routes are the result of the work of regional teams, a unique and ready-made tourist product. Each route is based on a verified set of tourist services that allow travelers to immerse themselves deeply in the history and culture of the territory in a short time, learn about its ethnographic and gastronomic features. For regions, this is not only an opportunity to declare themselves, but also an additional tool for promoting and attracting tourists, as well as an opportunity to receive funds from the national project for the development of infrastructure. For travelers, this is a guarantee of high quality, thoughtfulness and often greater accessibility of the trip,” said Maxim Reshetnikov.

    Moscow’s Metro system is celebrating a milestone: three years of successful biometric payment

    Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry, highlighted the convenience of this payment method, now available at turnstiles across:

    • Metro and Moscow Central Circle (MCC)

    • Aeroexpress

    • Regular river transport

    • Several Moscow Central Diameter (MCD) stations

    Here are some impressive figures:

    • Over 1,100 turnstiles equipped with biometric payment

    • Over 160,000 daily passes made using biometrics

    • Around 375,000 users registered for the service

    In 2021, we launched biometric payment in the metro. Passengers no longer need cards, phones, or wallets to pass through turnstiles. They simply look into the camera, and the gate opens. Users have already made over 125 million passes. Nowhere else in the world is this service as convenient as in the Russian capital. In these 3 years, it has proven itself to be maximally secure and reliable, – said Liksutov.

    Moscow Metro also sets a new record:

    Moscow’s Metro system has reached a new milestone: a record-breaking 91.2% of passengers are now using cashless payment methods. This is the highest rate since the launch of these services and this is a clear sign of a shift towards a more convenient and efficient transportation experience for our citizens. By implementing digital solutions, we’ve made user-friendly, fast, and environmentally friendly payment tools readily available, – added Maksim Liksutov.

    The most popular cashless payment methods include:

    • Biometric payment

    • Virtual Troika card

    • Fast Payment System (FPS)

    • Bank cards and payment stickers
