SHENZHEN, June 22 (Xinhua) — The ecosystem of China’s self-developed operating system HarmonyOS is expanding rapidly and currently has more than 8 million developers, Chinese tech giant Huawei said Friday at the Huawei Developer Conference held in Dongguan, south China’s Guangdong Province.
According to Huawei, more than 30,000 HarmonyOS apps and meta-services are in development or receiving updates, covering nearly 20 sectors including government, healthcare, and industrial applications. More than 100 major productivity platforms such as DingTalk and Feishu have been adapted for HarmonyOS, serving nearly 38 million enterprises.
On September 25, 2023, HarmonyOS apps were fully launched, marking the beginning of the development of an independent operating system ecosystem.
At the conference, Huawei unveiled the beta version of its next-generation operating system, HarmonyOS 6, for developers. In addition, the company introduced the Harmony Agent Framework (HMAF) for its HarmonyOS ecosystem, which aims to create a revolutionary AI ecosystem with autonomous decision-making and collaborative capabilities.
HarmonyOS, or Hongmeng in Chinese, is an open-source operating system designed for a variety of devices and scenarios, including smart screens, tablets, wearables, and cars. It was first launched in 2019. -0-
