  • MIL-OSI: Bitcoin Solaris Enters Final Weeks of Presale with Explosive Growth and Mobile Mining Breakthrough

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

TALLINN, Estonia, June 20, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Bitcoin Solaris (BTC-S), a next-generation blockchain project focused on scalability, energy efficiency, and mobile accessibility, has officially entered the final weeks of its presale, marking a pivotal moment for early adopters. With the presale set to close on July 31, momentum is surging as thousands of users join what’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about launches in the crypto space.

At the heart of Bitcoin Solaris is a mission to create a blockchain that’s not only high-speed and secure but also accessible to everyday users. Designed with mobile-first infrastructure and built on a dual-consensus model, BTC-S is setting the stage for a blockchain ecosystem capable of supporting real-world use cases—from decentralized finance (DeFi) and NFTs to tokenized real estate and e-voting.

The Engine Behind Bitcoin Solaris: Power Meets Practicality

Bitcoin Solaris doesn’t just promise innovation, it delivers it at the protocol level. By combining a dual-consensus mechanism and mobile-first scalability, BTC-S brings a completely modernized architecture to the table.

Here’s how it breaks away from outdated networks:

    • Hybrid Consensus: The network integrates Proof-of-Work (PoW) for security and decentralization, while its Solaris Layer uses Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) to accelerate throughput and reduce energy usage.
    • Validator Rotation: The system replaces validators every 24 hours, using a slashing mechanism to penalize underperformers, which ensures network health and prevents centralization.
    • Energy Efficient by Design: With lower block production costs and sustainable mobile mining through the upcoming Solaris Nova app, Bitcoin Solaris is aligned with the future of eco-conscious crypto.

The performance is unmatched in its tier:

    • Up to 100,000 TPS on the Solaris Layer with 2-second finality
    • Base Layer supports 3,000 TPS, optimizing smart contract and cross-layer interactions

Smart Contracts at Lightning Speed See Why Developers Love BTC-S

A Wealth-Building Engine for the Mobile Generation

At the core of BTC-S’s mass appeal is its accessibility. The upcoming Solaris Nova app introduces mobile mining, allowing users to participate using just their smartphones, no expensive rigs, no complicated setups. You can estimate potential earnings through their mining calculator, showing exactly how BTC-S plans to bring mining rewards back to the people.

This seamless user experience is one of the key reasons the project is catching fire. Unlike Bitcoin, which requires industrial-scale hardware to earn a fraction of a coin, Bitcoin Solaris is opening the gates for everyday investors to benefit directly from the network’s growth.

Real-World Utility Backed by Robust Infrastructure

Bitcoin Solaris is more than just a fast network. It’s built for real-world adoption, including support for:

    • Smart contracts built on a Rust-based environment
    • DeFi, NFTs, tokenized real estate, healthcare data, and even e-voting mechanisms
    • Seamless integration with Solana tools to drive early dApp development and adoption

The dual-layer architecture also enhances privacy via optional Zero-Knowledge Proofs and protects against 51% and long-range attacks, making BTC-S a secure, high-speed alternative for serious developers and investors alike.

Security and transparency are reinforced by successful audits from both Cyberscope and Freshcoins, giving investors confidence in its infrastructure.

The Presale Frenzy: Numbers Don’t Lie

Bitcoin Solaris is currently in Phase 8 of its presale, priced at just $8. With a launch price set at $20, and less than 7 weeks left until it ends on July 31, the clock is ticking.

    • Over $5M raised
    • 150% potential return
    • 11,500+ users have already joined
    • One of the shortest and most explosive presales in crypto history

Visit the Bitcoin Solaris site now before it enters Phase 9. Momentum is growing fast, just check crypto YouTube channels. Influencers like Ben Crypto and 2Bit Crypto have each done a full breakdown of why this is one of the most exciting crypto launches this year.

Why Bitcoin Solaris Could Make Its Early Backers Rich

There’s no one-size-fits-all in crypto, but Bitcoin Solaris is checking all the right boxes for those hunting high-upside projects:

    • Groundbreaking architecture with scalability, security, and efficiency
    • A mobile mining model designed for mass adoption
    • A reward system structured to benefit long-term participants
    • Backed by solid audits, a fast-growing community, and transparent development

More than just a presale buzzword, BTC-S represents the kind of practical, accessible crypto opportunity that’s been missing from the market for years. The fact that the network is designed to reward real usage, not just holding, means that early adopters stand to gain much more than just token appreciation.

As excitement builds and new features continue to roll out, Bitcoin Solaris is proving it’s not here to follow Bitcoin, it’s here to outshine it.

    Source: GlobeNewswire (MIL-OSI)

PANAMA CITY, June 20, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Gate, a global leader in cryptocurrency trading, has released its May 2025 Transparency Report, revealing remarkable growth across key business indicators. Amid improving market sentiment and a maturing regulatory landscape, the platform recorded historic highs in trading volume and user activity, accelerated brand globalization efforts, advanced compliance achievements, and further expanded its Web3 ecosystem.

Trading Volume and User Base Hit New Milestones
In May 2025, Gate saw a substantial year-over-year increase in total trading volume, driven by strong performance in both spot and futures markets. Futures trading, in particular, has become a primary growth engine for trading activity. Gate now ranks second globally in 24-hour spot trading volume, reinforcing its position among the world’s leading exchanges.

The platform’s user base surpassed 27 million registered users, reflecting continued global momentum and growing brand influence. Meanwhile, Gate Earn has seen explosive growth, now supporting nearly 1,000 digital assets with $2 billion in total assets under management. Its Dual Investment product now supports 60 tokens, and remains one of the most popular structured finance offerings on the market.

This month, Gate was also honored with the “Best Crypto Exchange 2025” award by Entrepreneur Middle East, recognizing the platform’s excellence in user protection, operational stability, and regulatory compliance.

Global Brand Revamp: New Domain Gate.com and New Logo Launched
On May 19, Gate officially launched its new domain, Gate.com, alongside a redesigned logo, marking a bold step forward in its global rebranding strategy. This upgrade unifies visual identity across global operations and enhances international recognition and user trust. The rebrand coincides with Gate’s vision of becoming the “Next-Generation Crypto Exchange”, a platform at the intersection of global compliance, user-centric design, and Web3 innovation.

The rebranding covers all Gate entities globally, including licensed operations in Japan, Dubai, and Europe, delivering a consistent and professional brand presence worldwide.

Product Ecosystem Expansion Drives Growth in User Engagement and Assets
In May, Gate’s continuous product innovation led to a significant boost in its platform ecosystem. The relaunch of Launchpad sparked market excitement, with the debut project Puffverse (PFVS) oversubscribed by more than 93,800%, attracting 35,000 participants and raising $656 million. Gate Alpha, focusing on meme asset trading, launched hundreds of projects in May, distributed over $1 million in airdrops, and generated billions in trading volume. Launchpool introduced nearly 20 new projects, distributed over $3 million in rewards, and peaked at over 1,000% annualized returns. HODLer Airdrop launched nearly 30 projects, attracted more than 170,000 participants, distributed over $800,000 in rewards, and saw over $38 million in total staking volume. CandyDrop launched nearly 20 airdrop campaigns, drawing over 500,000 participants with a prize pool close to 3 million USDT. The synchronized growth of these core product lines demonstrates Gate’s leading edge in product innovation and user attraction.

Accelerating Asset Transparency and Compliance Leadership, Reserve Ratio Reaches 128.57%
As of May 2025, Gate’s total reserve assets reached $10.865 billion, with an impressive reserve ratio of 128.57%, far exceeding the 100% industry benchmark. BTC, ETH, and USDT reserves all maintained surplus coverage, with BTC reserve ratio at 137.69%. These figures reflect Gate’s long-standing commitment to transparency and financial strength.

On the compliance front, Gate Technology FZE, a part of Gate, has obtained a VASP License under the regulation and supervision of VARA in Dubai to provide exchange services and is permitted to serve institutional investors, qualified investors, and retail investors. This milestone marks another significant step forward in Gate’s global compliance strategy.

Expanding Web3 Culture with Brand Campaigns and Global Events
In May, Gate intensified its brand presence through multiple high-profile events. Gate 12th Anniversary Global Celebration concluded in Dubai, where CEO Dr. Han outlined the vision of Gate as the next-generation crypto exchange. SPORT3 DUBAI 2025 united Web3 and sports through cross-industry activities. Gate hosted global KOLs at Inter Milan’s home stadium and celebrated Bitcoin Pizza Day with custom pizza deliveries to users and partners. At the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, Gate CBO Kevin Lee represented the brand in collaboration with Oracle Red Bull Racing. Gate’s NFT drop with Red Bull Racing exceeded 1 million mints, engaging over 200,000 participants. Yann Sommer, Serie A champion and Inter‘s goalkeeper, joined as a Gate Friend, symbolizing the platform’s commitment to asset security.

Promoting Education, Research, and Social Responsibility, Demonstrating Platform Impact
In May, Gate continued to make strides in educational outreach and social responsibility. Gate Learn released educational content and courses covering trending topics such as DeFi, RWA, and AI, helping users systematically enhance their understanding. Gate Research deepened its efforts in policy interpretation and market analysis, strengthening its expertise in critical areas like meme coins, public chains, and ETFs. During the same month, Gate Charity partnered with Forum Animal to launch a public welfare campaign in São Paulo, Brazil, calling for an end to animal testing and promoting global awareness around animal welfare and ethics, demonstrating the platform’s enduring commitment to sustainable values.

A New Chapter Begins, Advancing Toward Industry Leadership
May 2025 marks a pivotal chapter in Gate’s journey. With a newly unified brand identity, record-breaking business growth, and deeper integration across product, compliance, and community initiatives, Gate is accelerating its path toward becoming a truly global, next-generation crypto platform.

As the company moves beyond its 12th anniversary milestone, Gate remains committed to innovation, compliance, and user empowerment, opening the gate to a more open, secure, and sustainable Web3 future.

  • Europe launches diplomatic push as Israel-Iran conflict enters second week

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

World powers initiated high-stakes diplomatic efforts on Friday to defuse escalating tensions between Israel and Iran as the conflict entered its second week. Senior European diplomats met Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Geneva, seeking to prevent further escalation.

The emergency talks come amid heightened military activity, with Israeli forces destroying three Iranian missile launchers poised to strike Israeli territory. Meanwhile, Iranian missiles continued targeting locations across Israel, including areas near major international companies in Beersheba. The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that some Iranian missiles landed directly in Beersheba without interception, with one projectile falling near Microsoft facilities in the southern Israeli city.

    Diplomatic Talks in Geneva

Senior diplomats from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany gathered with Abbas Araghchi in Geneva, accompanied by the European Union’s foreign policy chief. The negotiations aim to establish a two-week diplomatic window to de-escalate tensions, focusing on Tehran’s nuclear program.

These talks come amid rising global concern that the conflict could spiral into open warfare, destabilizing West Asia and precipitating a humanitarian crisis. The diplomatic push also serves as a prelude to next week’s NATO summit in The Hague, where regional security will be a key focus.

European officials underscored the urgency of dialogue, cautioning that continued military pressure on Iran risks regime collapse and widespread displacement. Meanwhile, Russia condemned Israel’s military actions, expressing support for Tehran and calling for peaceful resolutions.

U.S. President Donald Trump has maintained strategic ambiguity on American involvement, stating that a decision will be made within two weeks.

    Escalation and Regional Impact

European officials highlighted the potential humanitarian fallout should Iran’s government collapse under sustained military pressure. Israel’s military campaign has expanded beyond conventional targets, hitting state institutions such as police headquarters and state television offices in Tehran.

Western and regional sources indicate that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aims not only to degrade Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities but also to destabilize the core structures of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s regime.

    Divisions within the European Union

The European Union remains divided over the legitimacy of Israel’s military actions. While France, Germany, and Italy support Israel’s right to self-defense, other member states question the legal justification for offensive operations against Iran under international law.

The EU has called for restraint and adherence to international law, warning of severe risks, including radioactive contamination and widespread humanitarian consequences.

    Russia’s Position and U.S. Ambiguity

Russia has strongly condemned what it terms Israel’s “unprovoked military assaults on a sovereign UN member state,” positioning itself as a proponent of diplomacy while backing Iran. The ongoing uncertainty from Washington, as President Trump weighs options, has left regional actors uncertain about the conflict’s trajectory.

The Human Rights Activists News Agency reports that Israeli airstrikes have resulted in 639 casualties in Iran.

  • MIL-OSI United Nations: UNECE Executive Secretary in Kyiv at launch of work on Ukraine’s State Housing Policy Strategy and to advance support for green recovery

Source: United Nations Economic Commission for Europe

In Kyiv amid some of the deadliest and most devastating attacks on Ukraine’s capital, a UNECE team led by Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean has expressed renewed solidarity with the people of Ukraine and full support to national and local recovery efforts.

Faced with acute damage to its ageing housing stock, Ukraine is looking not only to restore what was lost but to rethink and rebuild its housing systems, institutions, and approaches to reflect the needs of a modern, resilient, and inclusive country.

The housing sector has been among the hardest hit: an estimated 13% of all housing stock in the country has been damaged or destroyed, affecting more than 2.5 million households, according the joint Rapid Damage and Needs Assessment (RDNA4) commissioned by the Ukrainian Government, the World Bank Group, the European Commission and the UN.

UNECE is supporting the government to prepare for the recovery of the housing sector through the development of the State Housing Policy Strategy. The Strategy is guided by the draft Law “On the Basic Principles of Housing Policy”, which was prepared with UNECE support through the UN4UkrainianCities initiative.

This week in Kyiv, UNECE joined the World Bank and other partners  for the launch of the development of the Strategy, which will be a decisive step for the entire housing policy system — from mechanisms for addressing housing needs to the management of housing stock, from support for internally displaced persons to the restoration of damaged housing. Specifically, the Strategy will define directions, mechanisms, key changes, and indicators for monitoring progress, and outline the scope of needs and planned funding sources.

The aim of the project is to ensure that Ukraine’s State Housing Policy Strategy reflects both domestic needs and international commitments, including the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. UNECE will support the government through recommendations on policy design, housing delivery mechanisms, and institutional reforms that are grounded in international experience.

In Kyiv, UNECE Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean emphasized that “Ukraine’s State Housing Policy Strategy can serve as a foundation for an updated housing policy that goes beyond regulatory changes and establishes a long-term, integrated vision — and, ultimately, contributes to a better quality of life for millions of Ukrainians.” She highlighted UNECE’s longstanding partnership with Ukraine in this area.

The Strategy will focus on: the international and national context; housing stock (condition), including on the extent of destruction and recovery; exercising the right to housing; financing and construction of new housing; housing stock management; restoration of the housing stock; affordability of housing; transparency of housing policy.

The UN4UkrainianCities initiative, launched by UNECE and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and supported by GIZ, works in close cooperation with the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine and the cities of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv. It focuses on building back better in Ukraine and the two cities, including by developing a new, modern housing policy that can be effectively implemented at the local level.

Supporting a green and resilient recovery

Expressing UNECE’s readiness to continue supporting the green recovery of Ukraine, Ms. Molcean discussed with Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Ms. Svitlana Grynchuk, the country’s strong engagement despite the extreme challenges posed by the war, harnessing in particular UNECE’s Multilateral Environmental Agreements. Since 2022, Ukraine has acceded to the UNECE Industrial Accidents Convention and the GMO amendment under the Aarhus Convention, and signed a bilateral agreement with Romania on the Implementation of the Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention). UNECE is also supporting Ukraine’s transition to a climate-resilient and net-zero economy — by integrating green policies, financial mechanisms and stakeholder collaboration — through the Platform for Action on the Green Recovery of Ukraine, established jointly with UNEP and OECD.

In meetings with Ukrainian high-level officials, the Executive Secretary further reaffirmed commitment to supporting Ukraine to address challenges in housing and other areas of UNECE expertise, in particular in energy and environmental protection. She met with Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories, Ms. Natalia Kozlovska, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Ms. Y.Svyrydenko, and Deputy Chair of Verkhovna Rada, Ms. Olena Kondratyuk, as well as heads of Verkhovna Rada Committees.

In less than two months, participants went from ideas to solutions that will soon be tested by the project’s marketing team.

There were about 50 participants at the start, 9 teams reached the final. And the main prize is an internship in Moscow!

    What did the participants propose?

The Sprint finalists presented completely different, but equally inspiring approaches to solving medical marketing problems. All projects were focused on the real demand of Bioderma and the problems faced by patients with atopic dermatitis.

The Telegram bot for patient navigation was created by the winners of the Medical Marketing Sprint, Ksenia Vasilyeva and Ekaterina Butikova. The bot helps patients navigate information, receive content selections and important reminders.

    Ksenia Vasilyeva:

    — For me, it was a love story at first sight. I am a resident in dermatovenereology, and the topic of atopic dermatitis is something I encounter very often during my training and doctor’s appointments. When I saw that the project was being done by Bioderma, I didn’t even have to think: I had already attended their lectures for doctors — always deep and caring. And, to be honest, I sincerely love this brand, I use their products myself. Therefore, participating in such a project became something very personal — I wanted to be part of an initiative that really helps people.

I entered the project with great interest and no less doubts. I understood that it would be cool, because it was a collaboration between NSU and Bioderma, but I was worried that I might not have enough knowledge. I had never done marketing, and technical stuff seemed completely out of my league. But the sprint changed everything: we learned right on the spot, there were so many cool lectures — on medical marketing, on tools, and even on the technical side. And most importantly, there was incredible support from the curators. They didn’t just teach us — they guided us, inspired us, and instilled confidence in us.

    Ekaterina Butikova:

    — The most difficult part was to understand the technical part, because my education is in a different field. But with the help of modern tools, trial and error, we managed and reached the final product.

Now I understand that you can figure out and do almost everything with due persistence and desire. This experience showed how important it is to be in the trend of new technologies.

The finalists developed working solutions: from an ML model predicting the likelihood of purchasing a product to Telegram bots for interacting with consumers and keeping an AD (atopic dermatitis) diary.

    — The Medical Marketing Hackathon is a successful experiment in “landing” and working through the tasks of a specific company by students and young professionals. As a result, the participants gained invaluable experience and direct contacts with business representatives, and the company watched the teams in action; the results of the work will soon be tested by their marketing department.

The company expressed an active desire to continue interacting with student teams not only within the framework of this event, but also through other products of the NSU Startup Studio, such as the .Catalyst accelerator and the Sandbox internship program within the university, said Alexey Starostin, Director of the NSU Startup Studio.

    – Project

All teams interviewed patients and collected feedback, obtaining data that could be interesting and useful to the medical community. Irina Gennadyevna Sergeeva, MD, Professor of the Department of Fundamental Medicine at NSU, noted that the works on the topics “Criteria for the selection of emollients in the complex therapy of AD” (authors – Anastasia Bibikova, Maria Darovskikh), “Analysis of reviews and feedback” (Daria Boyarova, Anastasia Korotchenko), “Analysis of engagement in chats and Telegram channels” (Serafima Zolotova, Alina Nikolaeva) deserve publication in scientific journals and can be presented in Scopus.

  • MIL-OSI Asia-Pac: SCED continues visit to France (with photos)

Source: Hong Kong Government special administrative region

The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Algernon Yau, arrived in Bordeaux on June 19 (France time) to continue his visit to France.

Mr Yau first held a business roundtable with representatives of La French Tech Bordeaux, a start-up network, and Bordeaux-based technology start-ups to update them on Hong Kong’s latest start-up ecosystem and business-friendly environment for start-ups and entrepreneurs to thrive.

Mr Yau highlighted that Hong Kong’s start-up community has seen remarkable growth and diversification in recent years. In 2024, the number of start-ups in the city reached a record high of approximately 4 700, up about 10 per cent from the previous year. The founder base is notably diverse, with around 28 per cent of start-up founders coming from outside Hong Kong. The encouraging result is a testament to Hong Kong’s attractiveness to innovators, assisted by several key advantages such as a low and simple tax system, world-class financial services and the accessibility to both Mainland and international business opportunities.

He said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is firmly committed to positioning Hong Kong as a leading innovation and technology hub where start-ups play a pivotal role. He encouraged Bordeaux’s start-up community to expand their operations into Hong Kong, leveraging the city’s strategic position as a gateway to the vast markets on the Mainland and in Asia.

Mr Yau also paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Bordeaux, Mr Pierre Hurmic, to brief him on Hong Kong’s latest initiatives to drive economic development, such as the reduction of liquor duty, and exchange views on forging closer bilateral relations in various areas such as start-ups, and wine and liquor industries.

  • MIL-Evening Report: View from The Hill: Albanese decides against pursuing Donald Trump to NATO

Source: The Conversation (Au and NZ) – By Michelle Grattan, Professorial Fellow, University of Canberra

Anthony Albanese, just back from the G7 and his cancelled meeting with Donald Trump, has abandoned the idea of going to next week’s NATO meeting in pursuit of face time with the elusive president.

The word was that the prime minister would only go if he could be confident of a bilateral.

The NATO thought bubble was always a long shot. Even if a meeting could have been arranged, there would have been risk of another no-show by Trump. Given the dramatic escalation and unpredictability of the Middle East crisis, Trump would be even more unreliable, quite apart from having his attention elsewhere.

Albanese’s mistake was letting the NATO option be publicly known. It led to denigratory jokes about his “stalking” Trump. It also
sounded as if the prime minister was insulting NATO, only willing to attend if he could secure the Trump one-on-one.

So Albanese is back where he started, with all diplomatic efforts bent towards trying to secure a meeting, if possible reasonably soon. That might mean facing the scrum in the Oval Office, which Albanese has been anxious to avoid.

    Australia closes embassy in Tehran

Meanwhile, the government has announced it has closed the Australian embassy in Tehran. The embassy’s 13 staff have left Iran.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong said on Friday, “This is not a decision taken lightly. It is a decision based on the deteriorating security environment in Iran”.

“At this stage, our ability to provide consular services is extremely limited due to the situation on the ground. The airspace remains closed.”

Asked how much more difficult it would be for Australians to leave Iran now there was no consular assistance in the country, Wong said: “We are really conscious it is extremely difficult. I wish it were not so. I wish that we had more capacity to assist but the difficult reality is the situation on the ground is extremely unstable.”

Wong said Australia’s ambassador to Iran, Ian McConville, would “remain in the region to support the Australian government’s response to the crisis”. The Department of Foreign Affairs is sending consular staff to Azerbaijan, including its border crossing, to help Australians who are leaving Iran.

Australian Defence Force personnel and aircraft are being sent to the Middle East as part of planning for when airspace is re-opened. Wong stressed “they are not there for combat”.

Other countries to close their embassies include New Zealand and Switzerland. The United States does not have an embassy there.

Wong urged Australians able to leave “to do so now, if it is safe. Those who are unable to, or do not wish to leave, are advised to shelter in place”.

About 2000 Australian citizens, permanent residents and family members are registered as wanting to depart. There are about 1200 registered in Israel seeking to depart.

Australians in Iran seeking consular assistance should call the Australian government’s 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre on +61 2 6261 3305 outside Australia and 1300 555 135 (in Australia).

  • Russia says any use of tactical nuclear weapons by US in Iran would be catastrophic, TASS reports

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

Potential use of tactical nuclear weapons by the United States in Iran would be a catastrophic development, Russian state news agency TASS quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying on Friday.

Peskov was commenting on what he called speculative media reports about that possibility. His comments, as reported by TASS, did not mention any media by name.

The Guardian newspaper reported that U.S. defence officials were briefed that using conventional bombs against Iran’s underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordow would not be enough to destroy it completely, and that destroying it would require initial attacks with conventional bombs and then dropping a tactical nuclear weapon from a B-2 bomber.

However, the British newspaper said President Donald Trump was not considering using a tactical nuclear weapon on Fordow and the possibility was not presented by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, in meetings in the White House Situation Room.

Trump said on Thursday that any decision on potential U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict would be made within two weeks.

Russia, which has close ties with Iran, has warned strongly against U.S. military intervention on the side of Israel.

  • Europeans try to coax Iran back to diplomacy, as Trump considers strikes

    Source: Government of India

    Source: Government of India (4)

European foreign ministers are set to meet their Iranian counterpart on Friday aiming to create a pathway back to diplomacy over its contested nuclear programme despite the U.S. considering joining Israeli strikes against Iran.

Ministers from Britain, France and Germany, known as the E3, as well as the European Union’s foreign policy chief spoke to Abbas Araqchi earlier this week and have been coordinating with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

In a rare call, they pressed upon Araqchi the need to return to the negotiating table and avoid further escalation. At Iran’s suggestion, the two sides agreed to meet face-to-face.

The talks will be held in Geneva, where an initial accord between Iran and world powers to curb its nuclear programme in return for sanctions lifting was struck in 2013 before a comprehensive deal in 2015. They come after negotiations between Iran and the United States collapsed when Israel launched what it called Operation Rising Lion against Iran’s nuclear facilities and ballistic capabilities on June 12.

“The Iranians can’t sit down with the Americans whereas we can,” said a European diplomat. “We will tell them to come back to the table to discuss the nuclear issue before the worst-case scenario, while raising our concerns over its ballistic missiles, support to Russia and detention of our citizens.”

The European powers, who were not part of Iran’s nuclear negotiations with the United States, had grown increasingly frustrated by the U.S. negotiating strategy in the talks. They deemed some of the demands unrealistic, while fearing the possibility of a weak initial political framework that would lead to open-ended negotiations.

Two diplomats said there were no great expectations for a breakthrough in Geneva, where the European Union’s foreign policy chief will also attend.

But they said it was vital to engage with Iran because once the war stopped, Iran’s nuclear programme would still remain unresolved given that it would be impossible to eradicate the know-how acquired, leaving it potentially able to clandestinely rebuild its programme.

An Iranian official said Tehran has always welcomed diplomacy, but urged the E3 to use all available means to pressure Israel to halt its attacks on Iran.

“Iran remains committed to diplomacy as the only path to resolving disputes — but diplomacy is under attack,” the official said.

Speaking after holding talks in Washington with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy said there was a window for diplomacy.

“We discussed how a deal could avoid a deepening conflict. A window now exists within the next two weeks to achieve a diplomatic solution,” he said on X, referring to the White House saying on Thursday that President Donald Trump would give two weeks before deciding whether to join Israeli strikes.

Prior to Israel’s strikes, the E3 and U.S. put forward a resolution that was approved by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, a U.N. watchdog, which declared Iran in breach of its nuclear non-proliferation obligations.

As part of last week’s IAEA resolution, European officials had said they could refer Iran to the United Nations Security Council later in the summer to add pressure on Iran if there was no progress in the nuclear talks.

That would be separate to them reimposing UN sanctions, known as the snapback mechanism, before October 18 when the 2015 accord expires.

The Europeans are the only ones who can launch the snapback mechanism, with diplomats saying the three countries had looked to set a final deadline at the end of August to launch it.

“Iran has repeatedly stated that triggering snapback will have serious consequences,” the Iranian official said.

WASHINGTON, June 20 (Xinhua) — Mutual benefit “has always been the defining feature” of China-U.S. economic and trade cooperation, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng said Wednesday at the 2025 U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) Gala Dinner.

Speaking at a ceremony themed “Seeking a New Path for US-China Relations,” the Chinese diplomat said the growing trade and economic cooperation between China and the US over the years has benefited not only both countries but also the whole world.

With global economic growth remaining sluggish, cooperation is the only way out, the ambassador said. Protectionism is like “quenching one’s thirst with poison,” and China’s development is an opportunity for the world.

Xie Feng noted that China-US relations are at a critical stage, and both sides are faced with a choice between win-win cooperation and mutual loss.

He stressed the importance of following the strategic instructions of the two heads of state and faithfully implementing the important consensus reached between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump during their telephone conversation.

Xie Feng stressed China’s sincerity in cooperation and its principles, stressing that China’s sovereignty, security and development interests are the red line that must not be crossed, and mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation are the principles that must be upheld. –0–

At least 14 people were injured when Russian drones attacked the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odesa overnight, damaging high-rise buildings and railway infrastructure, local authorities said on Friday.

Odesa is Ukraine’s largest Black Sea port, key for imports and exports, and has been under constant missile and drone attacks by Russia since the war began.

“Despite the active work of air defence forces, there is damage to civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, a higher education institution, a gas pipeline and private cars,” local governor Oleh Kiper said on Telegram messenger.

Kiper released photos of burning houses and charred high-rise buildings.

Local emergencies service said that during the attack there were at least 10 drone strikes on residential buildings, causing massive fires.

Ukraine’s air force said on Friday that Russia had launched 86 drones on Ukraine overnight.

The military noted its air defence units shot down 34 drones while another 36 drones were lost – in reference to the Ukrainian military using electronic warfare to redirect them – or they were drone simulators that did not carry warheads.

However, the military reported that drones hit 8 locations.

Ukrainian state railways Ukrzaliznytsia reported that Odesa railway station was damaged during the attack, with power wires and rails damaged.

Russian drones also attacked Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine overnight, damaging several private and multi-storey houses, Kharkiv officials said.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Moscow Zoo’s Giraffe and Zebras Can Now Be Watched Online

    Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

In anticipation of World Giraffe Day, which is celebrated annually on June 21, mos.ru launched online broadcasts from the enclosure of the South African giraffe and the endangered Grevy’s zebras. You can watch them, as well as many other inhabitants of the Moscow Zoo, every day during the institution’s working hours – from 07:30 to 22:00.

Three female zebras – Deborah, Mia and Leila – along with a female Kenyan giraffe, Lipa, get along well in the mixed exhibit “Animals of Africa” in the new area of the zoo. In the warm season, they walk on the summer lawn and can frolic together, running races. With the arrival of cold weather, the animals move to a warm pavilion, where the giraffe remains until spring. And the zebras regularly go outside all year round, they can often even be seen walking through snowdrifts.

“We are pleased to announce that you can now watch Grevy’s zebras and South African giraffes online. These exotic inhabitants of the savannah get along well with each other. In nature, each species, without competing with others, feeds in a certain plant layer. Zebras’ favorite food is cereal inflorescences. And giraffes graze at a height of two to six meters, eating parts of plants that are inaccessible to other animals. In the zoo, a variety of vegetation is planted for them every year, and vertical and horizontal feeders are hung separately for Lipa,” said Svetlana Akulova, General Director of the Moscow Zoo.

On the online broadcast page, thanks to the broadcast from four cameras, everyone can watch how zebras and a giraffe spend time. For a good view of the spacious clearing, specialists from the capital Department of Information Technology installed new equipment.

“On zoo.mos.ru, animals have their own pages where you can learn interesting facts about them, examine their stripes and spots in photographs. Thanks to modern high-resolution cameras with a panoramic view, every resident of the country has the opportunity to study the behavior of zebras and giraffes in conditions as close as possible to their natural environment, and observe touching moments of their everyday life,” the press service of the Moscow Department of Information Technology reported.

The female giraffe Lipa is now 22 years old, which is quite a respectable age. She weighs about 800 kilograms. At the Moscow Zoo, the giraffe is fed twice a day: in the morning and during the day. The menu includes juicy willow brooms, alfalfa hay, mixed feed, as well as fresh vegetables and fruits. In the summer, Lipa also enjoys young grass.

The South African giraffe lives south of the Sahara in the savannas and dry forests of the African continent. These animals have a unique oral apparatus: their lips are equipped with long hairs, which send information to the brain about the presence of thorns and the degree of ripeness of leaves. The purple tongue of the giraffe is flexible, strong and extremely mobile – it skillfully avoids thorns, choosing the most delicious shoots and pulling them up to the level of the upper lip. Special papillae, which cover the lips, help the animal to hold the desired plant in its mouth: the giraffe cuts it with the incisors of the lower jaw.

Lipa’s neighbors are three female Grevy’s zebras. This is the largest of all existing zebra species. It lives in the desert steppes and arid shrub savannas of Ethiopia, Somalia, and Kenya. In the wild, Grevy’s zebras are threatened with extinction: despite the strictest ban, poaching of these animals continues.

The stripes on a zebra’s skin are unique and can be compared to fingerprints. These animals have incredibly strong legs. Thanks to this feature, they can not only cover long distances, but also defend themselves from predators, such as lions. These animals also have excellent vision, hearing, smell, and visual memory. They are able to recognize their relatives from afar by their characteristic pattern.

Zebra Deborah is a long-time resident of the Moscow Zoo, she is 20 years old. Curious Leila and cautious Mia are younger, they are seven years old. They arrived from abroad four years ago. The staff immediately realized that the animals respond to their names, so they did not come up with new ones. In the hot season, Grevy’s zebras prefer to walk in the morning hours or after sunset.

The first online broadcasts from the enclosures of the Moscow Zoo were launched in the fall of 2024. Since then, the list of animals that can be admired has increased significantly. Anyone can watch representatives of the cat family, different species of bears and pandas, as well as other predators, herbivores and primates.
