    The Strochenovsky Lecture Hall has opened in the Moscow State Museum of S.A. Yesenin, where scholars talk about little-known pages of the poet’s biography. The first lecture by Professor Yaroslav Leontyev of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, which opens the cycle, is dedicated to Yesenin’s political quest in the 1910s.

    1918. At the height of the Civil War, Sergei Yesenin writes the poem “The Jordanian Dove,” which contains the following lines:

In his youth, he was close to the ideas of Leo Tolstoy, but this interest quickly faded away. Later, while working in the printing house of Ivan Sytin, the poet came into contact with social democrats, socialist revolutionaries, anarchists – and even came under police surveillance.

    Having moved to Petrograd, Yesenin found himself in the editorial office of Severnye Zapiski, a magazine with a liberal-populist orientation. Here he met Leonid Kannegiser, the publisher’s nephew, also an aspiring poet, who in 1918 would shoot the chairman of the Petrograd Extraordinary Commission, Moisei Uritsky. They became close friends – Kannegiser even came to visit Yesenin in Konstantinovo.

    Zinaida Reich is a career Socialist Revolutionary

    Another fateful meeting took place in the editorial office of the newspaper “Delo Naroda” (People’s Cause), the central organ of the Socialist Revolutionary Party (SRs). Here Yesenin met Zinaida Reich, a technical employee of the editorial office. But at the last moment, Sergei Alexandrovich changed his mind and annulled the application. “He claimed that he was to the left of the Communist Party,” notes Yaroslav Leontyev.

    Trotsky, Dzerzhinsky and others

    Thanks to his acquaintance with Yakov Blumkin (a former Left Socialist Revolutionary who had gone over to the Bolsheviks and who had murdered the German ambassador Wilhelm von Mirbach), Yesenin gained access to the highest echelons of power – he met with Lev Trotsky, Anatoly Lunacharsky, Mikhail Kalinin, Felix Dzerzhinsky, and the People’s Commissar of Food Alexander Tsyurupa.

    But the poet does not break old ties: he continues to perform in Left SR clubs, works on the poem “Pugachev”. Even abroad, traveling with Isadora Duncan, he clashes with representatives of the White émigrés, and in New York he visits an old friend – a member of the Central Committee of the Left SRs, Veniamin Levin.

    Decembrist parallel

    Of particular interest is Yesenin’s connection with the Decembrist theme. On December 14, 1917, he spoke at an evening in memory of the Decembrists, organized by the Left Socialist Revolutionaries. And his last visit, now to Leningrad, was in December 1925 – exactly 100 years after the uprising on Senate Square.

    “How can one not draw parallels between two national geniuses – Pushkin and his friendship with the Decembrists and Yesenin with his friends, who were actively involved in politics, and some of them even created it themselves,” Yaroslav Leontyev reasons.

    The Kremlin said on Wednesday that it thought it was too early for anyone to have an accurate picture of the extent of damage inflicted on Iran’s nuclear facilities by U.S. bombing last weekend.

    Asked if Russia had its own information on the degree of damage, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “No. I don’t think that anyone can have realistic data now. It’s probably too early, we need to wait until such data appears.”

    U.S. President Donald Trump said at the weekend that the strikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear facilities.

    However, three sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters that a preliminary U.S. intelligence assessment had determined that the attacks had set back Tehran’s programme by only a matter of months.

    Russia has condemned the strikes on Iran, with which it signed a strategic cooperation agreement in January, as illegal, unjustified and unprovoked.

    Peskov said Russia had indications that there were open communications channels between Washington and Tehran, adding that Moscow was closely monitoring developments and still talking to Iran itself.

    BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) — All the conditions for opening the second Lu Ban workshop in Kazakhstan, located in the compass of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, will be ready by October this year, the Tianjin Ribao (Tianjin daily) newspaper reported.

    Lu Ban’s workshop is a vocational education brand pioneered by Tianjin-based educational institutions. The decision to open a second workshop in Kazakhstan was announced in July 2024.

    According to the agreement signed between China and Kazakhstan, the Lu Ban Workshop, established by the Tianjin Vocational Institute and the Eurasian National University, will be designed to train specialists in the field of digital technologies.

    From June 23 to July 16, Tianjin Vocational Institute is holding a training course for teachers for the aforementioned workshop.

    At the same time, as reported in the Tianjin Ribao newspaper, the reconstruction work of the workshop premises is nearing completion. The first batch of training equipment was delivered to Kazakhstan and will be officially handed over to the Kazakh side in July of this year.

We are also seeing a lot of new technologies being applied. China is doing very well in artificial intelligence and robotics,” he said.

    GUANGZHOU, June 25 (Xinhua) — Dai Daojin, former deputy secretary of the Party leadership group and vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) committee in central China’s Hunan Province, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve on Tuesday for accepting bribes.

    Dai Daojin was found to have accepted more than 107 million yuan (about $15 million) in bribes over a period of more than two decades, beginning in 2000.

    According to a statement from the Zhuhai Intermediate People’s Court in Guangdong Province, Dai Daojin, while holding various positions in Hunan Province, assisted third parties in matters such as running businesses, concluding project contracts and promoting their careers.

    UNITED NATIONS, June 25 (Xinhua) — It was the United States that started the Iranian nuclear crisis, China’s permanent representative to the United Nations Fu Cong said Tuesday in response to Iran’s accusations at a UN Security Council meeting.

    The Chinese side noted that some Security Council members do nothing but accuse Iran of violating non-proliferation obligations, trying to justify military actions by Israel and the United States, he noted.

    “China would like to remind these countries of the following basic facts: It was the United States that started the Iranian nuclear crisis,” Fu Cong said.

    He added that the US unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018. Washington has since reimposed and strengthened unilateral sanctions against Iran and adopted “maximum pressure” measures that have prevented Tehran from reaping the economic dividends provided by the agreement and forced Tehran to reduce its commitments under the deal.

    The United States also, to the detriment of its own authority, launched military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, undermining the negotiation process it had started and leading the Iranian nuclear issue to another dead end, which led to a sharp aggravation of the situation in the region, he said.

    Iran’s sincerity in resolving nuclear crisis should be appreciated, Chinese diplomat says

    He noted that Iran still continues to fulfill its non-proliferation obligations and the comprehensive safeguards agreement. Tehran has repeatedly stated that it does not seek to develop nuclear weapons.

    According to Fu Cong, Iran has held several rounds of professional and pragmatic negotiations with the US in a constructive manner and has never given up on its diplomatic efforts. However, some countries, by one-sidedly citing the report of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and ignoring the positive aspects of Iran’s cooperation with the agency, sought to pass a resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors without proper consultation. According to him, this jeopardizes the atmosphere of dialogue, increasing tension and confrontation. “These countries should carefully consider the negative consequences of their irresponsible move,” he said.

    Israel and the United States resorted to the use of force against Iran on the basis of “possible future threats,” which is a serious violation of international law and Iran’s sovereignty.     UNITED NATIONS, June 25 (Xinhua) — United Nations humanitarian officials warned Tuesday that the death toll, including among children, will rise if the blockade of fuel supplies to Gaza continues, amid reports of continued shelling of Gazans at aid distribution sites.

    The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that the death toll in Gaza continues to rise in the ongoing conflict with Israel, including cases of shelling of civilians near humanitarian aid distribution points outside UN control, as well as along routes designated by the Israeli authorities for the delivery of humanitarian supplies.

    UNITED NATIONS, June 25 (Xinhua) — China’s permanent representative to the United Nations Fu Cong called on the Security Council on Tuesday for a return to the path of a political settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue.

    China believes there is still hope for a peaceful resolution to the issue as diplomatic means have not been exhausted, he said.

    According to the Permanent Representative, all parties need to learn lessons from the crisis, resume dialogue on an equal basis and facilitate a return to the path of political settlement.

    First of all, the fighting should stop, he said, adding that China had taken into account the current events in the region and hoped for a real ceasefire.

    “The parties concerned must take practical measures to prevent the situation from escalating again. At the same time, the international community must make efforts to defuse the situation and promote dialogue and negotiations,” the diplomat said.

    To maintain a balance between nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful uses of the atom, he called on Iran to continue to fulfill its commitment not to develop nuclear weapons and on all other parties to fully respect Iran’s right as a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

    Noting that China supports all efforts to resume talks, Fu Cong said the Security Council should play a constructive role in helping the parties build trust, overcome differences and create conditions conducive to the resumption of talks.

    He stressed that the countries concerned should refrain from threatening to return to sanctions against Iran on every occasion, as this would only exacerbate tensions and confrontation and put diplomatic efforts at further risk.

    “A proper solution to the Iranian nuclear issue has a direct bearing on the credibility and effectiveness of the international non-proliferation regime and is of crucial importance to peace and stability in the Middle East,” Fu Cong stressed.

    “The situation in the region is currently at an important critical stage. China calls on all parties to act urgently and responsibly to de-escalate the situation and resume negotiations as soon as possible,” the diplomat added.

    ISTANBUL, June 25 (Xinhua) — A China Eastern Airlines flight carrying more than 200 passengers landed at Istanbul Airport at around 7:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, marking the launch of the airline’s new direct route between northwest China’s Xi’an and Istanbul, Turkey.

    This is the airline’s second direct route connecting China and Turkey, after Shanghai-Istanbul. According to the Shanghai-based airline, the new route is operated by a wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft three times a week – on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

    BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) — China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) said Wednesday that the second phase of its Shenhai-1 (Deepwater-1) gas field in the South China Sea has begun production, marking the completion of the country’s largest such project.

    According to the corporation, annual gas production at this field is expected to exceed 4.5 billion cubic meters, reaching the maximum design value.

    The geological reserves of the Shenhai-1 field amount to more than 150 billion cubic meters. Gas production has been carried out here since June 2021, when the first stage of the project was commissioned.

    Natural gas produced at the field is transported to coastal terminals in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Sanya City in Hainan Province and Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province, supplying key economic regions and integrating into the state gas pipeline network.

    Shenhai-1 is the country’s most complex deepwater gas field project. It is being developed under the highest temperatures and pressures ever encountered in inland shelf exploration. The maximum operating depth exceeds 1,500 m, and the deepest wells are 5,000 m.

    Project manager Liu Kang said the production infrastructure and technology system formed as part of the project will help carry out comprehensive deep-sea oil and gas exploration in the future, increasing the role of marine resources in ensuring the country’s energy supply. -0-

    The Regional Development Committee adopted its position on proposals to introduce new priorities and flexibilities to the current EU cohesion funding cycle.

    MEPs from the Regional Development Committee broadly endorse, in a report adopted on Wednesday with 26 votes in favour, 10 against, and 5 abstentions, a Commission proposal to adapt the EU’s cohesion policy priorities in the period 2021–2027 while introducing some targeted changes to ensure that the main cohesion policy principles remain in place.


    New priorities and flexibilities

    MEPs backed the proposed introduction of new objectives that would be eligible for cohesion funds, namely defence industrial capabilities and military mobility, water resilience, affordable housing, decarbonisation, and energy infrastructure. They also agreed to channel some of the funds into EU competitiveness, particularly to the Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP), and to extra support for EU regions bordering Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.

    MEPs also supported more favourable funding conditions, including the possibility of 100% co-financing, 30% pre-financing and a further pay-off of 9.5% of the total funding for reallocations to the new priorities in 2026 if at least 15% of funds are reallocated to them. MEPs propose lowering this threshold to 10%.


    MEPs call for preparedness investments

    In their amendments, MEPs want to prioritise dual-use infrastructure (suitable for civilian and military use) when funding the defence industry and military mobility. On water management, they want to broaden the scope of support to include integrated water management (for example, irrigation and desalination). MEPs also want to make housing sustainability a priority, and allow funds to go to the protection of critical energy infrastructure and civil preparedness infrastructure.

    To ensure cohesion policy’s focus on reducing inter-regional inequalities is maintained, MEPs want to update the rules such that only less developed and transition regions can access the new funding for defence and decarbonisation. They also changed a provision that would allow support to go to larger companies to specify that this can only happen when the companies commit to local employment. MEPs added a measure ensuring the consent of local and regional authorities is still needed for the transferring of already-planned territorial development funds to other purposes.

    MEPs emphasise that the new flexibilities cannot be applied to cohesion funding frozen under the EU’s conditionality regulation for violations of EU values or the rule of law.

    In response to Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine, which started in February 2022, the European Union (EU) and its Member States have provided unprecedented financial, military and humanitarian support to Ukraine. According to European Commission figures, Team Europe, consisting of the EU and its Member States, has made available around €150 billion in support to Ukraine. This support encompasses macro-financial assistance, financial support through the Ukraine Facility, humanitarian aid and military assistance from Member States and the European Peace Facility, as well as support to Ukrainian refugees in the EU. The overall support of Team Europe for Ukraine is now greater than the support provided by the United States (US), except in terms of military support allocation. However, Team Europe has provided 83 % of the tanks and 76 % of the air defence systems given to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war. The disbursement of EU payments under the Ukraine Facility is conditional on Ukraine implementing the Ukraine Plan – an ambitious reform and investment plan drafted by Ukraine’s government and endorsed by the EU. The Commission and the Ukrainian government publish updates on the progress of the reforms and on the disbursal of payments. In addition to the Ukraine Facility, the G7 have agreed upon a further €45 billion loan, with €18.1 billion to be financed by the EU. For this purpose, a Ukraine Loan Cooperation Mechanism has been established, which uses extraordinary revenues originating from Russian sovereign assets immobilised in the G7 member states to repay loans and associated interest costs. The rights, responsibilities and obligations provided for under the Ukraine Facility will apply to the G7 loan to ensure seamless management of both. The European Parliament has repeatedly called for confiscating the immobilised Russian sovereign assets to finance further support for Ukraine and the country’s reconstruction, instead of just relying on extraordinary revenues. The disbursement of EU payments under the Ukraine Facility is conditional on Ukraine implementing the Ukraine Plan – an ambitious reform and investment plan drafted by Ukraine’s government and endorsed by the EU. The Commission and the Ukrainian government publish updates on the progress of the reforms and on the disbursal of payments. In addition to the Ukraine Facility, the G7 have agreed upon a further €45 billion loan, with €18.1 billion to be financed by the EU. For this purpose, a Ukraine Loan Cooperation Mechanism has been established, which uses extraordinary revenues originating from Russian sovereign assets immobilised in the G7 member states to repay loans and associated interest costs. The rights, responsibilities and obligations provided for under the Ukraine Facility will apply to the G7 loan to ensure seamless management of both. The European Parliament has repeatedly called for confiscating the immobilised Russian sovereign assets to finance further support for Ukraine and the country’s reconstruction, instead of just relying on extraordinary revenues. International financial institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund, play a key role in addressing external financing needs and supporting the country’s macroeconomic stability.

    Central Asia links the huge Asian continent with Europe. The EU recognises its strategic importance in trade and energy routes, as well as in resources such as gas, oil and minerals (particularly gold, uranium and all types of rare earths). In 2019, the EU updated its Central Asia strategy to focus on resilience (covering areas such as human rights, border security and the environment), prosperity (with a strong emphasis on connectivity) and regional cooperation. The first-ever EU-Central Asia Summit, which took place in April 2025, represented a milestone and was an opportunity to upgrade relations to a strategic partnership, deepen trade and focus on energy economic cooperation, investment, high-quality connectivity, digitalisation, sustainable development and security cooperation (including hybrid threats). A EUR 12 billion investment package is planned through the Global Gateway, aimed at improving trade routes. It is a key opportunity for the EU to demonstrate its geopolitical interest in intensifying bilateral engagement and enhancing regional cooperation with Central Asia, to reduce its dependence on China and Russia in the context of global geopolitical changes. The summit also focused on climate action, human rights and strategic resources (including critical raw materials). In the light of the situation in Afghanistan, Central Asia has become crucial for security and stability. The January 2022 riots in Kazakhstan, which ended after the Collective Security Treaty Organization sent Russian-led troops, and the border clashes between Central Asian countries show the risk of instability in a region under Moscow’s influence. This influence in Central Asia is, however, weakening as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the concentration of troops at the front. This shift has created opportunities for Central Asian countries to emerge as more independent regional actors and has opened new avenues for partnership and cooperation with the EU in areas such as energy, raw materials and connectivity. However, Russia remains a key security provider in the region, with military facilities in three of the five Central Asian countries, and it controls two thirds of arms’ imports and supports the region’s governments. For trade and investment, the Chinese influence is growing with its Belt and Road Initiative. In response to the initiative, the EU has increased its engagement and investment in the region with the EU Global Gateway. Taking into account individual Member States’ assistance, the EU has become the largest donor in Central Asia, allocating over EUR 550 million to the Central Asia regional multiannual indicative programme for 2021-2027.     UK to provide hundreds of air defence missiles for Ukraine with money from seized Russian assets

    The UK will boost Ukraine’s air defence with 350 missiles using funds from seized Russian assets, helping to protect Ukrainians from Putin’s attacks.

    The UK will boost Ukraine’s air defence with 350 missiles using funds from seized Russian assets, helping to protect Ukrainians from Putin’s attacks.

    The ASRAAM missiles can be fired using the RAVEN Ground Based Air Defence System supplied by the UK to Ukraine, with five more RAVEN systems due for imminent delivery, bringing the total to 13.  

    Initially used as air-to-air missiles fired from fighter jets, RAF engineers adapted ASRAAM in just three months to be launched from the back of a UK designed and built truck, working with a British defence industry team from MBDA UK, based in Bolton. 

    The UK, together with allies, is stepping up its support for Ukraine – providing £4.5 billion of military support this year – more than ever before.  This support is vital to European security but is also supporting economic growth across the UK, supporting the Prime Minister’s Plan for Change and delivering a defence dividend across the UK.

    The missiles will be funded using £70m worth of interest generated from seized Russian assets under the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration (ERA) scheme.

    Prime Minister Keir Starmer said:

    “Russia, not Ukraine, should pay the price for Putin’s barbaric and illegal war, so it is only right we use the proceeds from seized Russian assets to ensure Ukraine has the air defence it needs.

    “The security of Ukraine is vital to the security of the UK and the Euro-Atlantic area, and our support will never waiver.

    “My message to President Putin is clear: Russia needs to stop its indiscriminate attacks on innocent Ukrainian people and return to the negotiating table.”

    It comes as the Prime Minister, Defence Secretary and Foreign Secretary join NATO leaders for the Alliance’s annual summit in the Hague, where they will meet counterparts to discuss de-escalation efforts in the Middle East, as well as further military support for Ukraine.  

    Defence Secretary John Healey MP said:  

     “Ukrainians are continuing to fight with huge courage – civilians and military alike. I am committed to ensuring Ukraine has the support they need to put them in the strongest possible position to secure peace.  

    “Russia’s indiscriminate missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities show that Putin is not serious about peace, and it’s right that we use funds from seized Russian assets to help Ukraine defend itself from this onslaught. 

    “These air defence missiles will save Ukrainian lives, using equipment developed jointly by British military engineers and our defence industry – showing how we are delivering on our Strategic Defence Review’s commitment to learn lessons from Ukraine.”  

    In March, the Prime Minister announced a historic £1.6 billion deal to provide more than five thousand air defence missiles for Ukraine – creating 200 new jobs and supporting a further 700. Defence supports more than 434,000 skilled jobs in the UK.   

    The UK will also invest a record £350m this year to increase the supply of drones to Ukraine from a target of 10,000 in 2024 to 100,000 in 2025.  

    The UK has sent around 400 different capabilities to Ukraine, with a £150 million package including drones, tanks and air defence systems announced on 12 February 2025, a £225 million package including drones, boats and munitions announced on 19 December 2024, and 650 lightweight multirole missiles announced on 6 September 2024.  

    The UK is absolutely committed to securing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and are engaging with key allies in support of this effort.

    The RAF will be equipped with twelve new F-35A fifth-generation aircraft, as part of the Security Defence Review. The procurement of F-35A marks a significant step in delivering a more lethal “Integrated Force”, to maintain operational relevance, which deters, fights, and wins.

    The F-35A aircraft will be available to fly NATO’s nuclear mission in a crisis, deepening the UK’s contribution to NATO’s nuclear burden-sharing arrangements, and deter those who would do the UK and our Allies harm. It reintroduces a nuclear role for the RAF for the first time since the UK retired its sovereign air-launched nuclear weapons following the end of the Cold War.

    This complements the UK’s own operationally independent nuclear deterrent, strengthens NATO’s nuclear deterrence, and underlines the UK’s unshakeable commitment to NATO and the principle of collective defence under Article V.

    As part of the second phase procurement plans of 27 aircraft, we will purchase a combination of twelve F-35A and fifteen F-35B variants, with options on further purchases examined in the Defence Investment Plan. The UK has a declared headmark of 138 aircraft through the life of the F-35 programme.

    Day-to-day, the F-35As will be used in a training role on 207 Squadron, the Operational Conversion Unit (OCU). As the F-35A carries more fuel than the F-35B variant, it can stay airborne for longer, extending the available training time in each sortie for student pilots. As F-35As also require fewer maintenance hours, there will be increased aircraft availability on the OCU. These factors combined will improve pilot training and reduce the amount of time for pilots to reach the front-line squadrons.

    The F-35A will complement the existing F-35B, offering a family of strike aircraft that significantly reduces life-cycle costs, meets operational requirements, and improves F-35 Force Generation for Carrier Strike operations.

    Designed to operate from conventional runways, the F-35A offers increased range, increased payloads, and increased agility. The new fast jets will be based at RAF Marham and support the stand-up of a third front line F-35 Lightning Squadron. 

    The F-35A is the common variant in Europe making it a force multiplier for NATO. This will strengthen allied deterrence and interoperability, supporting the Alliance for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

    This year, specialists from the city’s municipal services complex have renovated and laid more than 175 kilometers of water and sewer networks. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

    “Today, Moscow occupies a leading position among other regions in upgrading utility lines. The systematic work being carried out allows us to fully ensure the safety and reliability of network operation. This year, it is planned to build, upgrade and reconstruct over 260 kilometers of water and sewer networks; at present, work has been completed on over 175 kilometers,” said Pyotr Biryukov.

    Such events are held in all administrative districts. Modern technologies and equipment are used.

    Networks that need updating are identified during telediagnostics using a robotic complex. After inspecting the internal condition of the pipeline, a decision is made on the need for repair. More than 90 percent of the work is performed using trenchless technologies, such as pulling a new pipeline in an existing pipe, restoring it with polymer sleeves, and horizontal directional drilling.

    The use of new technologies allows us to minimize discomfort for residents, and the looped nature of the Moscow central water supply system makes it possible to carry out routine and repair work without disconnecting consumers.

    The measures implemented in the capital to develop and modernize utility networks correspond to the goals and objectives of the national project “Infrastructure for life”.

    Strategy for the development of Moscow healthcare involves a comprehensive upgrade of the medical infrastructure. This was stated in his blog Sergei Sobyanin.

    In the last five years alone, hospitals with a total area of over two million square meters have been reconstructed and built in the capital. And large-scale modernization of healthcare facilities is not slowing down: this year it will cover about 100 thousand square meters on hospital grounds.

    “In 2025, we will modernize 15 buildings of Moscow medical institutions in the hospitals named after F.I. Inozemtsev, No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov, named after V.V. Veresaev, No. 1 named after N.I. Pirogov, No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobov, named after A.K. Yeramishantsev and the Moscow Multidisciplinary Scientific and Clinical Center named after S.P. Botkin, the Research Clinical Institute of Otolaryngology named after L.I. Sverzhevsky, the Morozov Children’s City Clinical Hospital and the Moscow Multidisciplinary Center for Palliative Care,” the Moscow Mayor shared.

    The work is being carried out in such a way that it has virtually no impact on the current activities of the hospitals. Upon completion of the reconstruction, the buildings will meet modern standards of Moscow medicine. They will have the latest high-tech equipment for diagnostics and treatment. The conditions for patients and doctors will also become much more comfortable.

    Sobyanin: Healthcare system undergoing its largest modernization

    Building No. 8 of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Scientific and Clinical Center named after S.P. Botkin is in the final stage of work. This building is a cultural heritage site, so the work there was carried out in restoration mode. Specialists reinforced the structures, updated the facade and restored historical details, replaced the roof covering, repaired the rafter system and roof sheathing, and reconstructed utility networks. Window and door units were replaced, returning them to their historical appearance.

    The therapeutic department will continue to operate in the renovated building, becoming more comfortable and functional for patients and medical staff.

    At the same time, the landscaping of the Botkin Hospital territory was completed. Here, the sidewalks and driveways were renovated, energy-saving lamps, benches and urns were installed, and landscaping was done (almost 140 adult lindens, firs, pines, thujas, rowans and ornamental apple trees were planted). Two new fountains were installed in the front yard. In addition, five security posts – checkpoints – were put in order.

    Much attention was paid to the issue of organizing traffic on the hospital grounds. For this purpose, the driveways were widened and priority traffic for ambulances was organized. Separate entrances were made for visitors’ personal transport, as well as convenient guest parking equipped with signs and markings.

    A new navigation system was also developed. Now it is a modern, convenient and informative system of signs that helps visitors find the necessary building.

    Sobyanin spoke about the first year of work of the new centers of the Botkin Hospital

    “In early June, we completed the reconstruction of building No. 2 of the palliative care center, and along with that, the comprehensive modernization of the framework of Moscow’s palliative care service, which took several years,” wrote Sergei Sobyanin.

    The seven-story building now offers the most comfortable conditions for patients, relatives and medical workers. The building has a barrier-free environment, wards with specialized interiors and equipment, and a small operating room for minimally invasive surgical procedures and manipulations.

    The area adjacent to the building was also updated: comfortable sidewalks were installed, lanterns and benches were installed, a small parking lot was organized, and landscaping was done. The building will soon be able to accept patients.

    In early June, the City Clinical Hospital (CCH) named after F.I. Inozemtsev completed a major overhaul of the seven-story building No. 1 with an area of 10.3 thousand square meters. It housed a consultative and diagnostic department, a short-stay hospital, an ophthalmology center, specialized departments, an operating block, and other units.

    The new equipment has expanded the possibilities of diagnostic research. The operating rooms here are also equipped with the latest technology and meet all modern requirements.

    The modernization of the seven-story medical building at the L.I. Sverzhevsky Research Clinical Institute of Otolaryngology has reached its final stage. It will unite adult and children’s audiology centers, which are currently located on the first floors of residential buildings.

It will house departments of surgery, endoscopy, proctology, anesthesiology and resuscitation, an operating unit and diagnostic rooms, which will allow for the organization of planned and emergency medical care at the level of flagship centers. In addition to the renovation of the building, the improvement of the adjacent territory is also planned.

    The updated buildings will be part of the unified digital circuit of Moscow healthcare, which will allow the transition to a paperless work format. Doctors will have access to the digital clinic management system – a dashboard, the Digital Resuscitation service. Patients will use the already familiar digital certificates and extracts, chat bots and SMS services.
