In Windhoek (Namibia), Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Russian-Namibian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation Yuri Trutnev discussed the development of bilateral trade and economic relations with the President of the Republic of Namibia Netumbo Nandi-Ndayitwa.

“We have worked well as a team within the intergovernmental commission. And we are also committed to continuing this work. We expect our friends to engage in the process of creating added value in Namibia, which will contribute to the development of the economy and the reduction of poverty in the country. The figures for trade and economic turnover, of course, do not correspond to the level of our political cooperation. We must achieve the equivalent of economic cooperation with political cooperation. We have a long history, and the ties between our countries are only getting stronger. I want to assure you that this direction will continue,” said Netumbo Nandi-Ndaytwa.

Yuri Trutnev congratulated Netumbo Nandi-Ndaytwa on his election as President of the Republic of Namibia, as well as as Chairman of the South West Africa People’s Organization party.

“We have worked together for many years in the Intergovernmental Russian-Namibian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, created to strengthen the friendship between our peoples. I am sincerely grateful for our joint work. This work has produced results. The volume of bilateral trade and economic relations has doubled. But we have something to do next. Considering your attitude towards the Russian Federation, I very much hope that the friendship between the countries will develop. I want to assure you that I will do everything possible for this,” said Yuri Trutnev.

The prospects for implementing joint projects in the fields of industry, subsoil use and geological exploration, energy, agriculture, science and education were discussed.

“No matter what large Russian company Namibia works with, first and foremost it will work with the Government of the Russian Federation. This is a different level of responsibility. It is important for the Government of Russia to improve our relations and benefit both countries. Together with the state corporation Rosatom, one of the leading energy companies in the world, the Government of the Russian Federation is ready to continue negotiations on expanding the possibilities of using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. We are ready to consider other proposals for cooperation in the field of mining and processing of minerals, science and education. As a result of our work, the quota for the education of Namibian students in Russia has increased. The world is changing, and changing quickly. We are ready for these changes and are grateful to Namibia for maintaining a friendly attitude towards our country,” noted Yuri Trutnev.

The holding of the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Namibian Commission, which is planned for Windhoek, was also discussed.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Dmitry Grigorenko opened the international IT Olympiad for schoolchildren

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Government of the Russian Federation – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Dmitry Grigorenko opened the international IT Olympiad for schoolchildren.

An international IT Olympiad for schoolchildren has started in Russia. It will be attended by high school students from Russia and other countries, including Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Cuba, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and South Africa.

Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko took part in the grand opening ceremony of the IT Olympiad, which was held at the Government Coordination Center. He noted that the education of future strong IT personnel is one of the key tasks that the Government is already solving.

Much attention was paid to the training of IT personnel within the framework of the implementation of the national project “Digital Economy”. During its implementation, the number of budget places in universities in IT specialties increased by 2.5 times, and more than 230 thousand students received qualifications in the IT profile. In the period from 2019 to 2024, 78 thousand IT specialists needed by the industry were trained.

Training of IT personnel has also become one of the key areas of the new national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State”. The national project stipulates that the number of employees in the IT industry by 2030 should be at least 1.4 million people. The state is also developing close cooperation with leading companies in the area of training IT personnel: new programs for training specialists in microelectronics, robotics, artificial intelligence and unmanned systems, focused on developing practical skills, are already being developed. At least 250 thousand students should undergo training with the participation of leading IT companies by 2030.

Such specialized educational projects as the International IT Olympiad contribute to the training of personnel and help identify talented schoolchildren interested in IT technologies and provide support in their further development in the profession.

“IT technologies are a digitalization tool that makes our lives more convenient and increases economic efficiency. But it will not work without specialists who know how to use it correctly. Artificial intelligence is already being actively implemented in Russia today, domestic IT solutions are being developed, and digital services for citizens are being developed. And there is always a person behind this process of digital transformation. Strong IT personnel are a request not only for Russia, but for the whole world. Looking at the Olympiad participants, who, despite their young age, are already demonstrating such interest in IT, we understand that the development of the industry is in good hands,” Dmitry Grigorenko emphasized.

The International IT Olympiad has a practical focus. The tasks and training materials are developed taking into account modern trends in the field of information technology, and are also aimed at solving practical problems. The focus is on such IT areas as information security, mathematical logic, the basics of algorithms and programming, data analysis, text processing and building simple models based on artificial intelligence.

The IT Olympiad was organized by the Nizhny Novgorod Region government, and the general partner was Sberbank. The opening ceremony was attended by Sberbank Chairman of the Board German Gref.

“Information technologies allow us to look at the world in a completely different way and connect very complex processes that, at first glance, are not connected to each other. But this can only be done by managing the entire technology stack. Humanity is on the threshold of gigantic discoveries. You guys live in the most interesting time in the most interesting world, because you had the chance to look beyond the horizon of knowledge that humanity could not even formulate as the end point of this journey. And you will be able to fulfill this dream. I want to wish you success in this most interesting journey. I am sure that you will succeed, because only self-confident people can participate in our international Olympiad, and I congratulate you on this,” said German Gref.

The 100 participants who complete the tasks best and score the most points will take part in the in-person final, which will be held on the campus of the digital technology school “School 21” from “Sber” in Nizhny Novgorod. As reported by the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin during the grand opening of the Olympiad, the award ceremony for the winners will take place at the anniversary international conference “CIPR” in June.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: “It’s critical how we teach this technology, how it impacts young people.”

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: State University Higher School of Economics – State University Higher School of Economics –

    Photo: MIA “Russia Today”

On April 8, the MIA “Russia Today” held a round table on the topic “Threats of Artificial Intelligence for Education and the Social Sphere”, in which the rector of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) Nikita Anisimov took part. He spoke about the HSE’s experience in regulating the use of AI technologies in the educational process.

Opening the round table, Advisor to the President of Russia, Chairman of the Human Rights Council Valery Fadeev stated that modern youth actively uses neural networks. He cited data from a recent survey by the Association of Organizers of Student Olympiads, according to which 85% of students use neural networks, including 43% for writing abstracts, essays, term papers and theses. Students also consider AI to be the most important technology for Russia.

However, Valery Fadeyev himself has a different view of what is happening. “I believe that we are on the threshold of an ideological disaster, and Russian society is still underestimating this danger,” he said. The reason is that, when answering questions related to politics, for example, neural networks produce a Western narrative – ideological texts, turning into an ideological weapon.

The Russian presidential adviser used the analogy of a student library in the 1980s, which contained only Marxist literature, rather than the best works in the humanities from around the world. “Our texts and the texts of our friends make up a minimal part of the total array of materials and texts used by the neural network,” he concluded.

In turn, Nikita Anisimov noted that behind each AI there is a developer – a person who can afford to invest billions in the development of a specific technology. Such people have great business opportunities and pursue certain interests.

He recalled that the HSE University had adopted a Declaration of Ethical Principles for the Creation and Use of Artificial Intelligence Systems on its own initiative. One of these principles is transparency: if a student uses AI in their work, they are required to indicate what kind of technology it is and what conclusions were made. If deception is detected (there is a tool called “Catch a Bot” for this), the student may be expelled.

Nikita Anisimov emphasized that the university trains specialists in the field of AI and those who will definitely use it. In his opinion, methodological understanding of the use of AI in education is critically important and this is understood not only in Russia: for example, in China, at the state level, they consider it necessary to modernize educational methods and textbooks taking into account the emergence of AI as a technology.

The rector developed Valery Fadeev’s thesis that the content of a neural network is determined by the one who trained it.

“If the technology was developed in the USA, taught on a line of school textbooks published in the USA, then, naturally, it promotes certain views. But what if we load it with textbooks published in the 90s in the Russian Federation, will it be better? Therefore, it is critically important how we teach this technology, how it affects young people, adults. It is important who taught and what they taught. Artificial intelligence is only a technology, and any problem has a last name, first name and patronymic. They must be named, invited, discussed with them, introduced regulations, as we did at our university. And you know, it works. The guys are happy to tell where they used artificial intelligence, and where they wrote the work themselves,” concluded Nikita Anisimov.

The discussion was also attended by HRC member and IT entrepreneur Igor Ashmanov and IT entrepreneur Natalya Kasperskaya.

Igor Ashmanov emphasized the danger that AI poses to schoolchildren. At school, many questions require a clear answer, but a neural network cannot do this and answers differently each time, moreover, its answers are incorrect. At the same time, Russia is still lagging behind its competitors and cannot create the “right AI”. “Our digital giants take enemy engines and repackage them,” the expert explains.

Natalya Kaspersky mentioned the risks that children’s use of gadgets in general entails. These include a negative impact on health, as well as inability to communicate, underdeveloped imagination, clip thinking, short memory, etc. In her opinion, AI cannot be trusted to choose an educational trajectory; only a person can do this.

At the end of the round table, its participants answered questions from journalists. In particular, Nikita Anisimov was asked how much interest in HSE programs dedicated to AI has grown in recent years.

According to the rector, everyone should master AI technologies in their professional activities, so students of all fields and specialties at HSE take the Data Culture course. And students of educational programs dedicated to AI receive significant salaries, combining work with studies already in the second or third year. There is a huge competition for these programs, their graduates have an excellent reputation.

Nikita Anisimov concluded that AI technologies can help, for example, to win on the battlefield and increase labor productivity many times over, and this is extremely important for the country. At the same time, in the social sphere, AI should not be allowed to make decisions about people and influence their destinies.

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Rosneft – Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

In 2024, the RN-Uvatneftegaz company (part of the Rosneft oil production complex) received an economic effect of more than 3.6 billion rubles thanks to the developed projects to improve production efficiency, 47% of this effect was provided by new projects.

In 2024, RN-Uvatneftegaz specialists developed and implemented 29 innovative solutions. The greatest effect was achieved by installing mobile modular substations at autonomous fields, which reduced the time it took to connect well pads to the power transmission network, as well as capital expenditures on the construction of energy facilities. The economic effect of the project exceeded 181 million rubles.

A significant economic effect was also brought by the reduction in well recovery time due to the improvement of the drill string design. The solution allowed to optimize the drilling of the inclined part of the well, as well as to increase the drilling speed of extended lateral horizontal trunks. At the same time, the well recovery period was reduced almost by half, to 59 hours. The economic effect from the implementation of the project exceeded 91 million rubles.

Over the 6 years of operation of the production efficiency improvement system, RN-Uvatneftegaz specialists have developed 140 production efficiency improvement projects. The total economic effect from the implemented solutions exceeded 18.6 billion rubles.

Systematic work to improve production efficiency is one of the key elements of the Rosneft 2030 strategy. The company is carrying out large-scale work to reduce operating costs at production facilities and optimize capital investments, including through the introduction of advanced technological solutions.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: The capital has transferred more than 100 plots of land to investors for the development of sports infrastructure

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

Since 2016, the city has provided investors with more than 150 hectares of land in all administrative districts of the capital for the construction of sports facilities. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.

“Investors and developers are actively involved in the development of the capital’s sports infrastructure. For the construction of facilities, the city regularly puts land up for open auctions and provides it as part of large-scale investment projects. Since 2016, 106 plots of land with an area of about 155 hectares have been allocated for the construction of sports complexes. The area of buildings and associated infrastructure will be about 1.2 million square meters,” said Vladimir Efimov.

Large-scale investment projects (MaIP) have been implemented in Moscow since 2016. Objects aimed at developing urban infrastructure and creating jobs can receive this status.

“Since 2016, 58 plots with an area of 121 hectares have been transferred to investors for the construction of sports facilities within the framework of the MAIP. In addition, entrepreneurs can obtain land for the construction of sports and recreation complexes by participating in open auctions. All the necessary information can be found on the capital’s investment portal. Over the same period, the winners of the auctions received 48 plots with a total area of almost 34 hectares,” noted the Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of City Property

    Maxim Gaman.

For example, in the Kurkino district, a large-scale investment project for the construction of an ice arena has already been implemented on a 1.8-hectare site. It is intended for ice hockey and figure skating training, as well as for choreography classes, general physical training, and team games.

The Ramenki sports complex was built on a 0.3-hectare site within the framework of the MaIP in the district of the same name. The area of more than six thousand square meters houses a pool for recreational swimming and aqua aerobics, a children’s pool for swimming lessons, a multi-purpose games hall for basketball, volleyball, mini-football and tennis training, a gym, halls for martial arts, boxing, choreography, yoga, Pilates, rhythmic and recreational gymnastics.

In Zelenograd on Zarechnaya Street, an investor leased a 0.6 hectare plot of land for the construction of a sports and recreation complex as a result of an auction. As a result, a private sports complex with a swimming pool and specialized areas for recreational recreation was opened for local residents.

In Novo-Peredelkino, the investor leased a land plot of 0.28 hectares in the area of the 11th microdistrict near Borovskoye Highway. The entrepreneur is building a multifunctional sports complex on it.

Earlier Sergei Sobyanin opened The historic Lokomotiv stadium in Lublin after modernisation.

The construction of social facilities in Moscow corresponds to the goals and initiatives of the national project “Infrastructure for life”.

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Rosneft – Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Employees of Orenburgneft (Rosneft’s production asset), their family members and activists of the Movement of the First, together with representatives of the forestry department, took part in the international action “Garden of Memory”. This year, the initiative is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Volunteers planted more than 10 thousand pine seedlings in the Buzuluksky Bor National Park on an area of three hectares previously damaged by a natural fire.

Artificial tree planting significantly reduces the period of forest restoration after natural fires and helps to preserve the ecological balance of the territory. New trees will not only improve the state of atmospheric air in the region, but will also become a reminder to future generations of the immortal feats of heroes.

Orenburgneft, as part of the corporate program “Platform of Good Deeds”, is actively developing the volunteer movement in the region, implementing environmental, social and patriotic initiatives. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the company’s volunteers organized a number of patriotic events: a lesson in courage “Connection of Generations” for schoolchildren, a sports event “Ice of Victory”, joined the literary initiative “Reading to Children about the War”, conducted an excursion to the company’s museum as part of the “Labor Valor” workshop, and also organized a race “Along the Road of Victory” for residents of the region.

Orenburgneft is a subsidiary of Rosneft in the Volga region, and has been operating for over 60 years. The company is a multiple winner of the Orenburg Region Economy Leader competition, including in such nominations as High Social Efficiency Organization and Environmental Responsibility Leader.

The international ecological and patriotic campaign “Garden of Memory” is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory this year. Ecologists and volunteers will plant 27 million trees across the country in memory of each fallen Soviet soldier. The campaign is held within the framework of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”. The initiative is also aimed at solving environmental problems – greening cities, restoring forest plantations.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Opening of the Space for collective work in the Advanced Engineering School of NSU

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Novosibirsk State University – Novosibirsk State University –

On April 8, NSU opened a Collaborative Work Space for staff and students of the Advanced Engineering School. The new complex, located in the university building, will become a unique platform for scientific and educational initiatives that promote the development of engineering competencies.

The key element of the Space are two fab labs: “Space Instrumentation” and “Chemical Synthesis”. The fab lab “Space Instrumentation” provides students with the opportunity to participate in the development and testing of small spacecraft for the federal project “Sphere” of the state corporation “Roscosmos”. It uses modern equipment for balancing and adjusting space devices.

The Chemical Synthesis FabLab is aimed at student practice in the field of oligonucleotide synthesis and bioengineering. These modern opportunities give NSU undergraduates and students a chance to participate in solving real problems presented by industrial partners and gain valuable practical experience.

The Space has a VR studio designed to visualize geological and geophysical research. Here, students will be able to test, debug projects, and practice their skills in controlling unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) using modern equipment.

    — All competence centers — there are six of them in our Advanced Engineering School today — they are aimed specifically at forming teams that are capable of developing, implementing, and realizing advanced tasks. And this is, in fact, the exclusivity of this Advanced Engineering School — this is the merit of the team that works here. The team that has assembled united employees of Novosibirsk University, representatives of scientific organizations of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, our industrial partners, including the largest corporations — Roscosmos, Rostec, Rosatom, Sibur Holding, Gazprom Neft and a number of other regional partners. All of them really closely monitor what is happening, but they do not just observe — they give specific tasks, and students of Novosibirsk University and students of other universities who have become participants in the Advanced Engineering School program successfully cope with their solution, — noted Vice-Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Irina Manuilova.

In addition, the Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region spoke about some figures of the project:

    — Over the three years of work, 46 educational programs have been developed within the framework of the PIS, under which 648 students are currently studying. 830 specialists have received unique competencies in six areas of the NSU PIS within the framework of additional education. During this time, 2936 schoolchildren from the Novosibirsk Region and other regions who come here have gone through a variety of pre-professional project-based events — Olympiad tasks and tournaments. Over three years, more than a billion rubles of extra-budgetary funds have been attracted to scientific developments. The opening of new spaces once again confirms the desire to create an environment that facilitates the training of qualified engineering personnel.

Director of NSU PIS Sergey Golovin spoke about the projects being implemented, additional education for schoolchildren and the current structure of NSU PIS and shared his impressions:

    — The space we are opening today is a very important step for us. We finally have our own home — a place where students can do their project work, where we can bring our partners and work here with pleasure ourselves.

The demand for the PIS is very high, since two events took place before the opening: a delegation from the Sibur company arrived, and a meeting with a representative of the Roscosmos company took place. I really hope that the number of such events will increase. And through these events, we will involve more and more industrial partners in our interaction, – shared the director of the PIS NSU Sergey Golovin.

The NSU PISH initiative is supported by the Novosibirsk Region Government, which promotes the development of youth engineering education and the creation of laboratories for talented students. Partnership with leading companies such as Rosatom, Roscosmos, Rostec, Sibur Holding and Gazprom Neft opens up broad prospects for professional growth and employment for NSU PISH students and postgraduates.

The Advanced Engineering Schools Program, of which NSU PISH is a part, is aimed at implementing the Decree of the President of Russia and strategic initiatives for the development of engineering education in the country. By 2030, it is planned to increase the number of such schools to 100, transmitting the successful experience of existing schools and ensuring the continuity of educational activities, support for young talents.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Fury, imagery, temperament. How the play “Carmen in my head” was created at the “New Opera” theater

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

On March 28, Ballet Moscow, together with the orchestra and choir of the Moscow Theatre Novaya Opera named after E.V. Kolobov, the Moscow Choreographic School named after L.M. Lavrovsky, and the chamber choir of the Moscow Conservatory, presented their own reimagined version of Prosper Mérimée’s novella, which became the basis for Georges Bizet’s famous opera Carmen. The creators of the performance include winners of the Golden Mask award, architectural and music competitions. In a short documentary film especially for Kultura Moskvy, they talked about their work on the production, which shows the story of Don Jose’s all-consuming passion and tormented love for the brilliant Carmen from a new angle.

“For me, Carmen is, first and foremost, the rage that lies behind all things, and Carmen in this sense is not a woman, but a principle. When I wrote the music for the ballet, I was in my element, because I like to explore rage – I am writing a book of rage for the Chelyabinsk State Philharmonic. This is also a kind of book of rage, but transferred to a plot related to Carmen. I am not talking about a specific plot, because this ballet does not have one – at least, in the usual sense. But there is something important here – Carmen in her symbolic-sublimated form, in the absolute,” says composer Nastasya Khrushcheva.

Classics in the language of modern dance

According to Anton Getman, director of the Novaya Opera theater, the idea came to him quite a long time ago, when Ballet Moscow had just become part of the theater. In search of new themes and forms, he turned to Carmen. Then there were discussions with choreographer Tatyana Baganova, who later took on the production. According to her, the most conceptually important theme for her was the theme of the environment: “Jose was placed in Carmen’s environment, where there was absolutely nothing of his. Jose will not survive in it – this was predetermined from the start.”

Nastasya Khrushcheva also speaks about the clearly expressed masculine and feminine principles in the play, as well as the need to unite them to create a certain alchemy, transmutation: “But they still remain masculine and feminine, and for me this is the goal of music in general, so I was happy to use it here. Both in the costumes and in Tatyana’s production we see masculine and feminine, brought to the limit, symbolically elevated.”

In the proposed version, the composer deliberately does not focus on Bizet’s opera and distances himself from Spanish, although there are obvious allusions in the costumes and some mise-en-scènes, as there is something in common between the Spanish and Russian cultural codes. But the music really goes to a deeper level, which is not expressed by specific parameters.

It is noteworthy that the compositions were written during the process of creating the play, and they became a guide, a catalyst for the further assembly of the production. Step by step, thought by thought, a staircase was built, which later twisted into “Carmen in my head”.

    Deep work with archetypes

Costume designer Galya Solodovnikova emphasizes the importance of the attunement of her work with the architectural scenography of Larisa Lomakina: “This is a geometric structure within which the characters must live. Accordingly, there is an environment – it is formed not only by architecture, but also by music, movement and costumes. We populate the environment with characters. Yes, this is to some extent a story of the confrontation of two genders – we are working with archetypes here, so we specifically tried to get away from everyday costume.”

Jose is a military man, which is why he is characterized by geometricity, strictness, precision of lines, and a certain rigidity of the image (which cannot be said about the amazing plasticity of the artist, who shows the slightest changes in the face and trembling of the fingertips in micro-details). Carmen is a mobile element, specially enclosed in a pencil dress, as if barely containing her passion. Rehearsal fittings, choosing and reworking samples, tracking the cut in motion – a colossal amount of work. The costumes turned out to be not the most comfortable for dancing, but very recognizable. “And thanks to the fact that we can identify ourselves, it stops being just an abstract ballet, it becomes something that gets into us more,” adds Galya Solodovnikova.

And who said it had to be Bizet?

Anton Getman recalls that at some point it was decided to abandon the libretto and not involve the playwright in creating the production. A new rethinking of the idea occurred when Larisa Lomakina came up with the idea of the space.

“Creating a new ballet performance, especially on such a topic, is quite difficult, because all the authors must have some common basis, a base from which to push off, to fantasize. And the base suddenly appeared when the first sketch, so to speak, appeared in pencil – the idea of endless space, endless movement, stairs up, which in fact lead down, and stairs down, which you can climb up,” says the director of the Novaya Opera theater.

Larisa Lomakina admits that she always wanted to make ballet not just a plane on which people dance, but a kind of volumetric-spatial element, where almost everything is involved. Among the sources of inspiration are Ricardo Bofill with the La Muralla Roja complex and Maurits Escher with his endless staircases. Infinity reflects the incomprehensible, the struggle between a man and a woman, their characters and emotions. That same hopeless labyrinth in the head, the familiar “thought mixer”, chasing worn-out records in circles and having no chance to stop, except by finally and irrevocably breaking down.

The color of the mood is rage

The process of creating the play was synchronous in all respects: Tatyana Baganova would utter themes to Nastasya Khrushcheva, who would clothe them in music. From such an unconventional approach both Carmen’s tenacity and her frenzy were born, Carmen emerged in depression and melancholy, Carmen anxious and triumphant. The music here breathes, sings, whispers and screams out loud.

“Perhaps, rage for me here is not quite in the direct psychological sense, but rather in the Platonic sense. Plato spoke of three components of the soul: rational, lustful and furious. In my opinion, in music, furious is the most important,” explains Nastasya Khrushcheva, setting the goal of “exploding the banality of everything that can be called musical dust.”

As the creators of the performance emphasize, it is very important not to see the plot that is familiar to everyone, but to feel the state that is transmitted to the audience. “Carmen is a virus, she never goes anywhere, she always comes back,” Anton Getman quotes Tatyana Baganova. And the principle of “man or woman” is erased, as it were, the language of modern dance scales the story to a certain generalization, philosophically highlighting completely new meanings. And what is difficult to tell can be danced, getting into the music, mood, space, state.

“Because it’s a relationship. What happens to people when they are happy in a relationship – and when the opposite happens?” – Anton Getman reasons.

The next performances of the dance performance “Carmen in My Head” will take place on May 27 and 28.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Total Dictation at the Polytechnic University – “It’s Something Special”

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University – Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University –

The Total Dictation, an annual cultural and educational event that grew from an initiative by students of Novosibirsk State University into a global event, was held for the sixth time at the Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University.

For the first time, Polytechnic became the site of the Total Dictation in 2018. At that time, the text was read by SPbPU teacher Svetlana Ulyanova. The following year, the university’s guest and reader was the Honored Artist of Russia Anastasia Melnikova.

In 2020, St. Petersburg was declared the capital of the Total Dictation, and although the event was postponed twice due to the pandemic, it still took place, including at the Polytechnic University.

In 2023, the Total Dictation at SPbPU was attended by A record number of literacy enthusiasts – 222. The head of the SPbPU news portal department, journalist Evgeny Gusev, dictated. That year marked the 150th anniversary of the birth of Far East explorer Vladimir Arsenyev, and it was to him that Vladivostok writer Vasily Avchenko dedicated the text of the dictation.

And last Saturday, the 22nd Total Dictation took place, with over 1.3 million people around the world joining in. In 57 countries, venues were organized for those wishing to test their literacy, including in 1,134 Russian cities. In St. Petersburg, 7,839 people wrote the dictation, 166 of whom were at the Polytechnic University.

This year, the guests were received in auditorium #235, the very same one where the history of the Total Dictation at our university began. Each person who came was given gifts: a postcard, a bookmark, a fridge magnet, a branded pen, and a form reminiscent of an exam form. The sight of it evoked a slight excitement, already forgotten by those who had long since graduated from school or university. And there were about a third of such participants.

The guests were greeted by the host of the event, the head of the SPbPU Public Relations Department Marianna Dyakova. She told about the features of this year’s dictation, reminded them of the rules and introduced the announcer, a popular St. Petersburg actor, TV presenter and blogger. Andrey Zaitsev. By the way, Andrey is reading the dictation text at SPbPU for the second time – in 2020 heshared this role with journalist and TV presenter of the program “Open Studio” Roman Gerasimov.

The texts for the 2025 dictation were written by Marina Moskvina, a writer, screenwriter, finalist of the Yasnaya Polyana Prize, and laureate of the honorary diploma of the International Hans Christian Andersen Prize.

After the dictation was over, many stayed to take photos and get an autograph from Andrey Zaitsev, and some participants shared their impressions.

Olga and Yulia: This is our second time participating in the Total Dictation. The last time we didn’t really like the result – a C for punctuation. We were confident in spelling, but there were problems with punctuation marks. And now it’s the same! But overall, everything is great – we wrote with pleasure, the announcer was good, and Marina Moskvina herself also read her text expressively.

Egor: My girlfriend and I are writing the dictation for the third time and the second time at the Polytechnic. We like this venue. Last year we got a B. No, we didn’t prepare specifically this year, how can you prepare here – the texts are always different, there are always some new tricks.

Kirill: It was my first time participating, it was exciting. Writing a dictation at an educational institution is something special, especially with such narrators. The hardest thing was writing by hand, I don’t do it often, now I’ll need to rest for a week! It’s scary to imagine what grade I’ll get, a C, probably. But it doesn’t matter, the main thing is the process itself.

Daniil: I am writing the Total Dictation for the first time. For me, it is a very interesting experience when people of different ages sit together and write a dictation. Grammar did not raise any questions, but punctuation is a more unpleasant moment. I think it is worth coming here, it is not scary to make a mistake, it is interesting to see the result.

Kirill Stanovenko: I came to the dictation today for the first time and I am very impressed. I graduated from the Polytechnic University four years ago, spent many hours in this auditorium – we had higher mathematics here. I came – and memories came flooding back, I met the teachers, plus such an event, organized at the highest level, in general, I am delighted. I believe that people who doubt their knowledge of the Russian language are doubly obliged to come here to try their hand and learn something new. I hope for an A.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: The Traffic Management Center will prepare about 40 projects for safe and convenient traffic in TiNAO

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

In 2025, the Traffic Management Center (TMC) plans to organize 20 pedestrian crossings in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky administrative districts of Moscow. For example, two of them will appear on 1st Vatutinskaya Street in the Troitsk district near a residential complex. Thus, pedestrians will be able to safely and comfortably cross the road to the buildings of School No. 1392, the sports complex and the Sports Park.

“On the instructions of Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to improve the comfort and safety of movement in the capital. Every year, thanks to the projects of the road curators of the TsODD, more than a thousand changes are implemented in the city. Thus, in TiNAO this year, specialists will prepare about 40 projects – according to them, the plans include organizing 20 pedestrian crossings, equipping 10 safety islands, changing the speed limit on two sections and making additional lanes on 10 sections,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry

    Maxim Liksutov.

In addition, additional traffic lanes are planned for five sections. One of them will appear at the exit from Centralnaya Street (Vnukovo settlement) to Kievskoye Highway in the direction of the center. Thanks to the changes, the capacity of the exit will increase.

It is also planned to change the speed limit on two sections of major highways. For example, on the Varshavskoye Shosse section from Molodtsovskiy Proezd to Obvodnaya Doroha, the maximum permitted speed will increase from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour. This will reduce travel time and ensure smooth traffic flow on the section from Kashirskoye Shosse to Obvodnaya Doroha.

Among other things, it is planned to arrange 10 safety islands. Thus, two of them will appear on Voronovsky Rubezh Street near the LMS settlement. Thanks to the innovations, residents of the Voronovo district will be able to safely cross the road, heading to the forest park zone and public transport stops.

When developing changes to traffic patterns, the TsODD curators take into account the opinions of the capital’s residents. The wishes of the city residents are passed on to the relevant services, departments and prefectures in order to improve the safety of movement around the city and make it more comfortable. In addition, the curators design changes in those places where the current traffic pattern is outdated or requires revision. For example, additional pedestrian crossings are made on routes to new metro stations, the Moscow Central Circle, Moscow Central Diameters and public transport stops. And when traffic is launched on new roads, traffic patterns on nearby streets are reviewed in order to evenly distribute traffic flows.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Heating stations and electrical substations as canvases: 52 public utilities and energy facilities were decorated with graffiti last year

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

In 2024, 52 energy and housing and utilities facilities, including transformer substations, heating stations and drainage pumping stations, were decorated with graffiti. This was reported by the city economy complex.

Thanks to the cooperation between the single heat supply organization of Moscow, PAO MOEK, and the Russian Football Union, portraits of the participants of the Russian Women’s Football Super Cup were placed at four heating points at once.

At the request of residents of houses on Aviakonstruktora Mikoyan Street, a portrait of the famous aircraft developer, after whom the street is named, was depicted on the transformer substation of JSC OEK. And the famous military leader, commander of the USSR long-range aviation, was depicted on the heating station on Marshal Golovanov Street.

Artists are often inspired by biographies and works of famous figures in art, literature and music. Thus, a drawing on a transformer substation on Novoslobodskaya Street was dedicated to the author of the famous “Divine Comedy” Dante Alighieri. A portrait of Muslim Magomayev and lines from his song about the capital “The Best City on Earth” appeared on the walls of another substation on Abramtsevo Street.

Many design projects were dedicated to the Year of the Family, which was declared for the past 2024. For example, scenes from the lives of sports and creative families decorated nine transformer substations of JSC OEK in the courtyards of different districts of Moscow.

A mural dedicated to a significant event in the life of the city also appeared. On Savelyeva Street, near the Sportivnaya metro station, on the transformer substation of PAO Rosseti Moscow Region, graffiti was painted dedicated to the Muscovites’ favorite forum-festival “Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030”, which was held in the Luzhniki Olympic Complex last year. The author of the drawing was a young visitor who won the power engineers’ competition for the best model.

In 2024, the capital’s drainage facilities were decorated for the first time. Images were applied to 11 drainage pumping stations of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosvodostok, which are necessary for transporting surface wastewater. On Perervinsky Boulevard in the Maryino district, a lighthouse and marine fauna were depicted on the structure, on Samarkandsky Boulevard in the Vykhino-Zhulebino district – flowers, plants and trees, on Volokolamskoye Highway in Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo – birds, and on Kulneva Street in Dorogomilovo – leaves of exotic plants.

In addition, JSC Ecotechprom, together with students from the College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26, implemented an art project to create New Year’s graffiti on “bell”-type containers for collecting recyclable materials. At the end of December, students decorated two containers in the People’s Park “Kozhukhovo” (10 Trofimova Street), in Vorontsovsky Park (9 Vorontsovskie Prudy Street, Building 2) and in Yekaterininsky Square (15/1 Sadovaya-Samotechnaya Street).

It is strictly forbidden to apply graffiti in the capital without permission. To place them, you must obtain the consent of the building owners and a technical report on the condition of the wall, then submit an application toDepartment of Housing and Public Utilities of the City of Moscow, attaching a draft drawing and a render. If a positive decision is made, the project is submitted for discussion to the interdepartmental commission.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: The fight against fraudsters is in full swing – banks want to take action against cashback lovers

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

    Sours: Mainfin Bank –

How do fraudulent customers profit from loyalty programs?

Cashback scams are becoming more common – banks are concerned about fraud on the part of clients, so they want measures to be taken against such persons at the federal level. Most often, cheating schemes cashback look like this:

The citizen is making out bank card with favorable terms of the loyalty program. A large purchase is made with the card, for example, household appliances. The bank credits cashback. The person goes to the store and returns the goods, but the compensation is transferred to another card. The bonuses received remain with the dishonest client – the scheme can be repeated more than once.

Instructions for cheating cashback are popular on the Internet – citizens are encouraged to “earn money on product returns” by resorting to unfair practices. The prospect of a criminal case does not stop Russians – in the Russian Federation, individuals who abuse loyalty programs have been repeatedly held accountable. For example, in 2022, the Ministry of Internal Affairs uncovered a criminal group that received bonuses by purchasing and returning tickets – the damage amounted to over 4.5 million rubles.

What measures do banks offer to combat cashback abuse?

Roskomnadzor has joined the fight against clients engaged in fraud – banks have contacted the agency, calling for measures to be taken against fraudsters. Credit organizations offer:

allow banks to exchange personal data of clients caught in fraud; create a single database of people abusing loyalty programs; block websites that post information about cashback “earning” schemes; increase liability for Russians caught in fraud with bonus programs.

“Cashback fraud is currently insignificant, but the existence of such schemes will allow fraudsters to scale up their activities – bank losses could increase many times over,” noted a representative of OTP Bank.

At the same time, experts, lawyers and individual representatives of the banking industry do not see any prospects for the proposed proposal. It is problematic to distinguish a bona fide client who wants to receive bonuses from a fraudster. Moreover, the implementation of the idea will require significant costs, which may be much greater than the potential costs of abuse within the framework of loyalty programs.

  • MIL-OSI Russia: Bees were fed in the capital’s eco-centers

    Translartion. Region: Russians Fedetion –

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

On the territory of some eco-centers of the capital Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection apiaries are located, which are monitored by beekeepers. As a rule, by spring the honey reserves in the hives are exhausted and the bees need additional feeding so that they maintain their strength and wait for the plants to give them nectar.

    Spring training

Bees are one of the important links in the ecosystem. They help pollinate plants and promote biodiversity in green areas. These insects feel comfortable in the metropolis, but at the same time they need care and gentle treatment.

With the arrival of spring, the life of the bee family comes into motion. The insects begin to become active and make their first flight. Then they begin to clean the hive from debris, prepare wax cells for the future brood, polish them to perfect cleanliness.

At the same time, the bees have to live in rather difficult conditions for some time. They spent the winter huddled together, warming each other and spending a minimum of energy. In the spring, everything is different: the dense cluster breaks up, and individually the insects become unstable to the spring temperature changes, when the sun is hot during the day and it is frosty at night. In addition, food supplies, as a rule, are coming to an end. In such a situation, the bees are very vulnerable and beekeepers come to the aid of the workers.

    Bee update

With the start of the warm season, biologists from the eco-centers of the Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection inspect apiaries in the city’s natural areas, inspect each hive, remove dead bees, clean the flight holes and install landing boards. And most importantly, they feed the bees. Now the task of the bee colonies is to wait for the flowering of pollen-bearing plants. Pollen serves as a valuable protein product for preparing food for the larvae.

In the Moscow region, the goat willow is the first to start pollinating. As soon as beekeepers notice a bee with golden balls of pollen on its hind legs at the entrance, this will be a sign that the hive will soon have offspring: the queen bee has begun the so-called sowing and lays eggs in prepared cells every day. The number of eggs can reach two thousand per day. In three weeks, each laid egg will go through all stages: it will become a larva, a pupa, and then an adult striped worker.

By summer, the entire bee colony will be renewed. The next generation will replace the bees that have survived the winter, and a new annual cycle will begin.
