  • MIL-OSI Security: San Fernando Valley Man Agrees to Plead Guilty to Engineering $5.9 Million Ponzi Scheme Targeting Elderly Church Parishioners

    Source: US FBI

LOS ANGELES – A San Fernando Valley man has agreed to plead guilty to a federal felony charge for swindling clients – many of them elderly church parishioners – in a long-running Ponzi scheme that took in more than $5.9 million in victim investor money, the Justice Department announced today.

Sylvein William Maximilian D’Habsburg XVII, 48, a.k.a. “Sylvein Scalleone,” of West Hills, has agreed to plead guilty to one count of wire fraud.

D’Habsburg is expected to enter his guilty plea in the coming weeks in United States District Court in downtown Los Angeles.

According to his plea agreement filed today, from at least January 2018 to June 2023, D’Habsburg hired recruiters to identify potential investors for his two companies, Wild Rabbit Technologies LLC and BAI Intelligence LLC, targeting the local Filipino community, including elderly church parishioners.

At investment presentations, D’Habsburg claimed that he had an artificial intelligence (AI) technology that could predict the future and detect a COVID-19 infection based solely on a video recording, among other things. D’Habsburg also falsely claimed to investors that he had received approximately $500 million in investments for his companies from retired pro athletes and other noteworthy people, such as Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and Steve Wozniak, and that he would use the investment funds to hire personnel and obtain patents.

But D’Habsburg did not use the victims’ money to hire personnel or obtain patents. Instead, he used his victim investors’ money to purchase luxury cars, such as a 1933 Rolls Royce Phantom II Continental Sedanca de Ville by Barker, and rare antiques, such as a pair of Italian carved Giltwood Thrones from the 1800s.

As a result of his fraudulent scheme, D’Habsburg caused his victim investors a total of approximately $5.9 million in losses.

Once D’Habsburg enters his guilty plea, he will face a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

The FBI is investigating this matter.

Assistant United States Attorneys Jason C. Pang of the General Crimes Section and Alexander Su of the Asset Forfeiture and Recovery Section are prosecuting this case.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Kansas City Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Bank Robbery

Source: Office of United States Attorneys

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A Kansas City, Mo., man has pleaded guilty in federal court to attempting to rob a local bank.

Cleburn Bruce Greene, 50, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Brian C. Wimes today to one count of attempted bank robbery. Greene has been detained in federal custody since his arrest.

According to reports of bank employees and surveillance videos, on October 1st, 2024, Greene entered the bank at approximately 10:08 a.m. and went to the customer service counter where he wrote on a piece of paper.  Greene then approached a teller and showed the note that read: “Give me your money.” The teller asked Greene if the male had an account at the bank and Greene stated: “No. this is a robbery.” Greene further stated: “Don’t play with me” and “don’t make me do something crazy,” or words to that effect.  While the teller was typing on his computer to get access to emergency cash, Greene exited the bank and threw the note in a dumpster adjacent to the bank. Investigators later recovered the note.  Surveillance video footage captured Greene fleeing the scene in a nearby Kia Sportage vehicle.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Kansas City, Missouri Police Department Officers observed Greene in a restaurant parking lot in Kanas City, Missouri.  Greene was wearing the same clothing he had on during the attempted bank robbery. Greene drove to a Gas Station where officers arrested him without further incident.

Under federal statutes, Greene is subject to a sentence of up to 20 years in federal prison without parole. The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes, as the sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the court based on the advisory sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled after the completion of a presentence investigation by the United States Probation Office.

This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Trey Alford.  It was investigated by the FBI and the Kansas City, Mo. Police Department.

    Project Safe Neighborhoods

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy strengthening PSN based on these core principles: fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community-based organizations that help prevent violence from occurring in the first place, setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring the results.

(“RCF”) reports that it has filed an early warning report under National Instrument 62-103 – The Early Warning System and Related Take-Over Bid and Insider Reporting Issues in respect of the common shares (the “Common Shares”) in the capital of Defense Metals Corp. (the “Company”).

On May 21, 2025, the Company issued an aggregate of 32,277,963 Common Shares to holders of secured convertible notes of the Company (the “Convertible Notes”), upon automatic conversion of the Convertible Notes at a price of C$0.125 per Common Share, and in full satisfaction of the accrued interest on the Convertible Notes (the “Conversion Issuance”). Of this amount, the Company issued an aggregate of 4,080,012 Common Shares to RCF upon the conversion of RCF’s C$500,000 Convertible Note, and in full satisfaction of the accrued interest thereon.

On the same day, RCF subscribed for 1,720,370 units (the “Units”) of the Company at C$0.15 per Unit, for total proceeds of C$258,055.50, issued pursuant to a concurrent brokered and non-brokered private placement of the Company (the “Private Placement”, and together with the Conversion Issuance, the “Transactions”). The Company issued an aggregate of 36,841,068 Common Shares under the Private Placement. Each Unit is comprised of one Common Share and one-half of one Common Share purchase warrant (each whole warrant, a “Warrant”). Each Warrant entitles RCF to acquire one additional Common Share at a price of C$0.20 per Common Share, at any time on or before May 21, 2028.

As a result of the issuances of Common Shares under the Transactions, RCF’s beneficial ownership in respect of the Common Shares, being the securities subject to the most recent report required to be filed by RCF in respect of the Company under National Instrument 62-104 – Take-Over Bids and Issuer Bids and National Instrument 62-103 – The Early Warning System and Related Take-Over Bid and Insider Reporting Issues (“NI 62-103”), fell below 10% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares.

Immediately prior to the Transactions, RCF owned and controlled a total of 25,871,008 Common Shares, representing approximately 9.13% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares. As a result of and immediately following the Transactions, RCF held 31,671,390 Common Shares, representing approximately 9.58% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares. Assuming the exercise of the Warrants, RCF would come to own 32,531,575 Common Shares, representing approximately 9.81% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares on a partially-diluted basis.

As RCF no longer holds 10% or more of the issued and outstanding Common Shares, RCF will no longer file early warning reports in respect of its ownership of Common Shares unless and until such time as RCF’s aggregate shareholdings exceed 10% of the issued and outstanding Common Shares on a non-diluted or partially-diluted basis.

RCF acquired the Common Shares and Warrants in accordance with RCF’s investment policy to generate proceeds from its investment in the Company. RCF may from time to time acquire additional securities of the Company, dispose of some or all of the existing or additional securities or may continue to hold its securities in the Company.

The Company’s head office is located at Suite 1020 – 800 West Pender Street, Vancouver, British Columbia V6C 2V6.

  • MIL-Evening Report: Head knocks and ultra-violence: viral games Run It Straight and Power Slap put sports safety back centuries

Source: The Conversation (Au and NZ) – By Christopher Yorke, Lecturer in sport management, Western Sydney University

    runitstraight24/instagram.com, The Conversation, CC BY

Created in Australia, “Run It Straight” is a new, ultra-violent combat sport.

Across a 20×4 metre grassed “battlefield,” players charge at full speed toward one another.

Alternating between carrying the ball (ball runner) and defending (tackler), victory is awarded via knockout (a competitor cannot continue), or a judge’s decision based on an athlete’s dominance during the collisions.

Despite neuroscientists issuing grave warnings about the brutal sport’s risks, Run It Straight’s viral popularity, including endorsement among high profile athletes, is accelerating.

    A growing scene

This month, Melbourne hosted the inaugural “RUNIT Championship League” event.

Footage showed some participants convulsing after their collisions as the winner celebrated, surrounded by children.

Drawing hundreds of spectators and millions of online views, the full-speed collision challenge is already turning its violence and social media footprint into commercial success abroad, securing interest in the United States.

The sport held some events in New Zealand this week, but one was was halted by Auckland Council due to safety concerns and failure to secure necessary permits.

A history of sport and violence

In ancient times, symbolic cultural displays of power and physical dominance featured in combat sports such as wrestling, boxing, pankration (a mixed martial art combining boxing and wrestling) and even armoured foot races.

This brutal entertainment is reflected in contemporary collision sports such as the National Rugby League (NRL) and Australian Football League (AFL).

In recent decades however, the danger of concussion has resulted in most contact sports changing rules and regulations to protect athletes from head injuries.

Various measures have been implemented to mitigate, eliminate and treat head trauma.

The Australian government is exerting influence and committing material resources to support athletes living with brain issues such as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

When does the love of the game outweigh the cost? ABC’s Plum brings rugby league’s concussion crisis to the fore

Considering this multi-pronged effort to make contact sports safer, the violence of Run It Straight is jarring.

Why are these new sports so popular?

With its origins as a social media challenge, Run It Straight is perfect content for short-form social media platforms: an entire competition can be distilled into a 30-second highlight.

Run It Straight’s accessible and minimalist format is also attractive to fans compared to many collision sports that have complex rules and strategies. This can be a barrier to interest, engagement and commercial returns.

Run It Straight and other emerging, violent sports such as Power Slap (a fight sport where contestants slap each other so hard they can be knocked unconscious) are simplistic and brutal.

But athletes in most traditional collision sports use their physical ability and skill to evade contact. Similarly, boxing is not just about strikes to the head, it is punch evasion, physical fitness and point scoring.

But the visual spectacle and shock of two people running toward one another for an inevitable collision is a form of violence that appeals to an increasing number of sport fans.

    The risks involved

Run It Straight is a new sport, and to our knowledge there is no empirical peer-reviewed research focusing on it.

But many neurologists have expressed concerns about its total disregard for scientific evidence showing repeated head trauma damages brain health.

With Run it Straight appearing to lack the medical resources and infrastructure of professional sports organisations, and with the competition’s expressed intent to have participants collide at high speed, the risk of significant injury is high.

Power Slap, though, has been the subject of empirical research. A 2024 study reported many of the sport’s combatants showed visible signs of concussion (motor incoordination, slowness to get up and blank and vacant looks during bouts).

    An opportunity for ‘traditional’ sports?

The rise of Run It Straight and Power Slap creates a unique opportunity for the governing bodies of contact codes such as AFL, NRL and rugby union to highlight what sets them apart.

Key to this is athlete safety. For years, governing bodies in these codes have invested time and resources to implement concussion management protocols at professional and community levels.

Currently, the tournament-based format for individual adult participants allows Run It Straight to operate without the broader governance responsibilities of football codes.

However, it is because of those governance responsibilities that the football codes can amplify their athlete wellbeing credentials to reassure participants and parents who may be nervous about concussion risks.

Second, the football codes are organised team sports played with multiple players on a team, facilitating skill acquisition, teamwork, mental wellbeing and physical fitness. While there appears to be a degree of camaraderie during Run It Straight events, it is evidently a one-on-one competition.

Ultimately, the rise and evident popularity of Run It Straight and Power Slap provides a stark reminder there will always be a section of society that is drawn to high-risk behaviours.

In turn, the football codes should look to highlight the value of balance and their athlete wellbeing credentials.

  • MIL-OSI China: Modric to leave Real Madrid after Club World Cup

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric announced Thursday that he will leave the club after this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup.

The 39-year-old Croatian confirmed his decision two days before what will now be his final appearance at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium against Real Sociedad on Saturday, although he will remain with the club for the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 15.

“The time has come. I never wanted it to come, but that’s football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end. On Saturday, I’ll play my last game at the Santiago Bernabeu,” announced the Croatian.

The news comes as the Spanish press had been speculating that Modric might sign a one-year extension after his current deal expires at the end of June.

Modric has made 56 appearances in all competitions this season, with his ability to dictate tempo still important to Madrid.

“I want to sincerely thank the club, especially President Florentino Perez, my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has helped me throughout this time,” said Modric, who joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has played 590 times for the club, winning four La Liga titles, six Champions Leagues, and various domestic trophies during that time.

“Over these years, I’ve experienced incredible moments, comebacks that seemed impossible, finals, celebrations, and magical nights at the Bernabeu. We’ve won everything, and I’ve been very happy.”

“I’m leaving with a full heart. Full of pride, gratitude, and indelible memories. And although, after the Club World Cup, I will no longer wear this shirt on the pitch, I will always be a Real Madrid fan,” concluded the midfielder.

  • MIL-OSI China: Wang survives Gauzy scare to advance at table tennis worlds

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

China’s world No. 2 Wang Chuqin survived a massive scare against France’s Simon Gauzy on Thursday to go through to the men’s singles quarterfinals at the World Table Tennis Championships.

Jolted awake while two sets down, Wang played a very aggressive game with subtle maneuvers on the table and clinched the match over 51 minutes, in a score of 9-11, 9-11, 11-2, 11-9, 11-4, 11-8.

“I suddenly felt this could be my last game if I didn’t turn the tables,” said Wang. “I calmed myself down, not thinking about winning or losing. I just focused on tactics and skills.”

The turning point came when the Chinese let out a loud shout while leading 5-2 in the third set. “I let off steam with that,” he said.

Gauzy, ranked 43rd in the world, rated his performance nine out of 10.

“Wang was not at his best at the beginning, while I was,” said the 30-year-old. “It’s hard to handle his power and speed.”

Wang will now face against the winner between eighth seed Patrick Franziska of Germany and 13th seed Lin Yun-Ju of Chinese Taipei.

  • MIL-OSI Global: Compression tights and tops: do they actually benefit you during (or after) exercise?

Source: The Conversation – Global Perspectives – By Ben Singh, Research Fellow, Allied Health & Human Performance, University of South Australia

    Olena Yakobchuk/Shutterstock

You’ve seen them in every gym: tight black leggings, neon sleeves and even knee-length socks.

Compression gear is everywhere, worn by weekend joggers, elite athletes and influencers striking poses mid-squat.

But do compression garments actually improve your performance, or is the benefit mostly in your head?

Let’s dive into the history, the science and whether they are worth your money.

    From hospitals to hashtags

Compression garments didn’t start in sport. They were originally used in medical settings to improve blood flow in patients recovering from surgery or with circulation issues such as varicose veins.

Doctors found tight garments that applied gentle pressure to limbs could help move blood and reduce swelling.

But in the late 1990s and early 2000s, athletes, scientists and sports brands began experimenting with compression wear in training and competition.

Companies such as SKINS, 2XU, and Under Armour entered the scene with bold promises: improved performance, reduced fatigue and faster recovery.

Then, by the 2010s, compression wear wasn’t just for athletes – it had become a fashion statement.

Social media helped drive the trend: influencers wore these items in gym selfies, TikTokers praised the sleek, sculpted look. And with the rise of athleisure, compression garments became everyday apparel, blending fitness with fashion.

What are these garments supposed to do?

Compression gear is designed to fit tightly against the skin and apply gentle, consistent pressure to muscles. The big claims made by manufacturers include:

    • improved blood flow, helping oxygen get to muscles faster

    • reduced muscle vibration, potentially lowering fatigue and soreness

    • reduced muscle soreness through improvements in circulation and reduced inflammation

    • quicker recovery by boosting blood flow and reducing muscle stiffness

    • enhanced performance, including running faster, lifting heavier and improved endurance.

You’ll hear gym-goers say they feel “more supported” or “less sore” after using compression gear.

Some even report improved posture or a mental boost – like stepping into a superhero suit.

    What the science says

Research into compression garments has been growing steadily and the results are mixed – but interesting.

A 2013 major meta-analysis reported moderate benefits across several recovery markers, including lower levels of creatine kinase (a sign of muscle damage) and less delayed-onset muscle soreness up to 72 hours after exercise.

A 2016 review found compression garments reduced muscle soreness and swelling and boosted muscle power and strength. These improvements were up to 1.5 times greater (compared to people who didn’t wear compression garments) in some cases.

Building on this, a 2017 review found people who wore compression gear recovered strength more quickly, with noticeable improvements within eight to 24 hours after a workout. Strength recovery scores were around 60% higher in those wearing compression gear compared to those who didn’t.

But the findings are not consistent. A 2022 review of 19 trials found little effect on strength during the first few days post-exercise.

And when it comes to actual performance, a comprehensive 2025 review of 51 studies concluded compression garments do not enhance race time or endurance performance in runners. And while they may reduce soft tissue vibration (which might feel more comfortable), they offered no meaningful edge in speed, stamina or oxygen use.

Overall, in simpler terms: compression gear may help you recover faster but don’t expect it to turn you into an Olympic sprinter.

When compression gear might help (and when it won’t)

Here are some situations when compression garments can be genuinely useful:

    • helping reduce muscle soreness and support quicker recovery after exercise

    • preventing swelling during long flights, especially for athletes travelling to competitions, and

    • improving circulation for people with medical conditions such as poor blood flow in the legs (chronic venous insufficiency) or long-term swelling (lymphedema), especially when recommended by a health-care provider.

But don’t count on them to:

    • improve your times: there’s no strong evidence they boost speed or endurance

    • make you stronger: while some research has noted improvements in strength and power, this won’t necessarily have a noticeable effect on your athletic performance

    • replace training or good sleep: recovery still depends on the basics – rest, hydration and nutrition.

    So, should you wear them?

Compression outfits won’t magically transform your body or training results. But they aren’t a waste of money either.

If they make you feel more comfortable, confident or supported, that’s a valid reason to wear them. The psychological boost alone can be enough to enhance motivation or focus.

And when it comes to post-exercise recovery, the evidence is solid enough to justify keeping a pair in your gym bag.

Think of them like a good pair of shoes. They won’t run the race for you, but they might make the journey a little smoother.

And if you’re just wearing them for the outfit photo on Instagram? That’s fine, too. Sometimes, confidence is the best workout gear of all.

Ben Singh does not work for, consult, own shares in or receive funding from any company or organisation that would benefit from this article, and has disclosed no relevant affiliations beyond their academic appointment.

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is coming back to the Chinese mainland by staging a Fight Night event, its first live showpiece since the pandemic, in Shanghai on Aug 23, following a sold-out event in Macao in November.

The Las Vegas-based mixed martial arts promotion announced the event on Thursday in Shanghai at a news conference, where all of its top-ranked Chinese fighters, including reigning women’s strawweight belt holder Zhang Weili and men’s bantamweight contender Song Yadong, celebrated the long-awaited return.

The roster on the Fight Night card has not been confirmed yet, but Zhang, the first Chinese athlete to win a world title under the organization, said she cannot wait to get involved in any possible roles.

“You will probably see me cheering them on from the sideline, or commenting, or promoting the event as an ambassador. I will for sure be there,” said Zhang, who beat Brazilian wrestler Jessica Andrade to claim the strawweight belt in UFC’s third and last event in the mainland in Shenzhen, Guangdong province in August 2019.

“To fight at home is always the most exciting experience, without having to get used to the jet lag, language barrier and different weather fighting overseas. The home fans’ vocal support has been nothing but a huge source of energy for every athlete,” Zhang recalled her experience of the home fight.

Shanghai also hosted the organization’s mainland debut in 2017, followed by a second Fight Night in Beijing in 2018. The Macao Special Administrative Region, meanwhile, has also played host to UFC events four times since 2012.

To further help grow the sport’s profile in the birthplace of ancient martial arts, the UFC opened its second, and largest, Performance Institute in Shanghai in 2019, and has helped an increasing list of not just MMA talents, but also national team athletes from across Olympic sports to improve their performances at the multi-functional elite-level training center as part of an agreement with the Chinese Olympic Committee.

The organization also launched its fourth consecutive edition of the “Road to UFC” talent development program on Thursday with promising MMA fighters from across Asia to vie for coveted professional contracts awarded for winners at the selection tournament.

A total number of six Chinese athletes have earned pro contracts with UFC by punching through the pathway since the first edition in 2022.

“Every country has its own style of martial arts and China is widely recognized of having the oldest and most respected traditions,” Kevin Chang, UFC’s senior vice-president and head of Asia, said at the launch of the Shanghai Fight Night.

“The UFC has quickly become a global phenomenon and China has quickly become the most important overseas market for the UFC. The goal, with the PI in Shanghai, was not only developing a new generation of mixed martial artists, but also raising the bar of the sport as a whole,” he said.

“The Brazilian forward signed his new contract on Thursday at the Club offices in the presence of FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, first vice-president Rafa Yuste and Club sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza ‘Deco’, among others,” the club said on its website.

The announcement marks a reversal in fortunes for the 28-year-old, who joined Barcelona from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.

The club had considered selling him last summer, but ultimately decided to keep him due to difficulties in signing new players. Raphinha has since delivered an impressive return of 34 goals and 25 assists in 54 appearances under coach Hansi Flick. Only Robert Lewandowski, with 40 goals in all competitions, has scored more as Barcelona went on to win La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

The confirmation of Raphinha’s contract extension comes just a day after Flick extended his own deal with the club through 2027. Barcelona is also working to secure the future of 17-year-old rising star Lamine Yamal.

The Members demanded full transparency: who’s attending, how much they paid, and what kind of influence they’re expecting in return for the millions of dollars they put in Trump’s meme coin. With no press, no disclosure, and crypto wallets tied to foreign actors, this dinner isn’t just unethical — it’s a national security risk. It’s pay-to-play politics on steroids, and Trump is cashing in. The dinner is scheduled for tonight at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.

“We’re here today to call on the President and the people who serve him to do something really simple: release the names of the people who are going to be there,” said Murphy. “Even if you release the names, it’s still corrupt. But at least let us see who’s going to be there. At least let the American people know who has bought access to the President. Release the names. If there’s nothing wrong, if you think that this is all above board, then what are you hiding?”

“Americans sent us to Congress to unrig the economy — not to help the President turn the White House into a crypto cash machine with private dinners for his top meme coin buyers or legislation that supercharges his stablecoin profits,” said Banking Committee Ranking Member Warren. “The GENIUS Act should be written to prohibit the president and his family from profiting—period.”

“President Trump has put a ‘for sale’ sign on the White House lawn with his cryptocurrency schemes,” said Merkley. “Congress needs to act fast to stop the massive corruption and national security threat that is Trump selling access and influence to the highest bidders. My End Crypto Corruption Act not only cracks down on this corruption but also prevents other federal officials, like Members of Congress, from betraying our ‘We The People’ government.”

“Donald Trump is selling access. He is selling out America, he is selling it to a foreign power, and he is putting our national security at risk. Trump is becoming beholden to foreign powers—the Emirates that provided $2 billion to World Liberty Financial, the Qataris that have provided him with a plane, and the unknown foreign actors that have invested in his meme coin operation. It’s not just about corruption—it is about corruption that endangers our national security by putting the president in a compromised position in relation to foreign powers,” said Blumenthal. “My hope is that the Trump Administration will give us the list of individuals attending tonight’s dinner as the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigation has asked them to provide.”

“I was not invited to dine with Donald Trump today. I’m not disappointed.  But you know who should be disappointed? The 746,000 people (probably many of them Americans) who bought small amounts of that Trump coin – maybe some of them bought a little bit more – who didn’t get invited. When I introduced the MEME Act in the House it was because, to borrow from Richard Nixon, those 764,000 Americans needed to know that their president was a crook. And hopefully, we’re going to find some Republicans who have the courage and the spine to say this is corruption regardless of which party is committing it,” said Liccardo.

“America should not be for sale. With tonight’s prize dinner, our President is using his private golf course to cater to some of the world’s richest people, instead of working on behalf of working families and our country. He claims to be ‘America first,’ but really, he’s ‘Donald Trump first.’ Between his outrageous meme coin grift, his Tesla car show on the White House lawn, the jumbo jet gift from Qatar and his numerous candlelit dinners for tech bros and foreign billionaires, this President is the definition of corruption and personal profit over regular people,” said Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen.

“The President’s corrupt dinner is yet another alarming example of foreign interests opening their wallets to him. By turning the American presidency into a money-making venture, Trump is inviting an unprecedented level of corruption—and putting our national security at risk. End Citizens United proudly stands with Senator Murphy and the other lawmakers who spoke out today to demand transparency and accountability,” said Justin Unga, Vice President of Public Affairs, End Citizens United.

Earlier this month, Murphy introduced the Modern Emoluments and Malfeasance Enforcement (MEME) Act, legislation to prevent corrupt federal officials from using their position to profit off digital assets such as meme coins. Rep. Liccardo introduced companion legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.

  • MIL-OSI China: Nagelsmann names Germany Nations League Finals squad

Source: People’s Republic of China – State Council News

The notion of free choice can be an elusive ideal for national football coaches, and Germany’s Julian Nagelsmann may be feeling that reality more than ever ahead of the 2025 UEFA Nations League Final Four.

Germany will face 2019 Nations League champion Portugal in the semifinal on June 4 in Munich, but the buildup has been marred by a string of absences.

Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck, Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller, Arsenal’s Kai Havertz and Gladbach’s Tim Kleindienst are all sidelined.

There is some positive news with the return of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.

New call-ups Tim Bischof (Hoffenheim) and Nick Woltemade (Stuttgart) join returning players Serge Gnabry (Bayern), Robin Gosens (Fiorentina) and West Ham striker Niklas Fullkrug.

Spain and France will meet in the second semifinal in Stuttgart.

“Portugal is a strong side, and we will have to invest everything to proceed to the final. That’s our desire, to go all in and reach the final,” Nagelsmann said.

The coach emphasized the importance of considering the health and long-term readiness of players. “They must be in the best shape when entering the upcoming season,” the 37-year-old said.

Bayern had requested that Musiala be given a rest ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, and Nagelsmann agreed. Whether players like Gnabry, Gosens, Waldemar Anton (Dortmund) and Robert Andrich (Leverkusen) are pleased with their recalls remains to be seen.

Ter Stegen and Fullkrug are among the biggest surprises, having recently returned from long injury layoffs. Rudiger, meanwhile, is preparing for the Club World Cup after recovering from his own injury.

“Mark is our undisputed No. 1. He lately played two games for his club, and Hansi Flick told me he is back to a top level,” Nagelsmann said.

The German squad will assemble on May 30 in Herzogenaurach at the facilities of their sponsor, Adidas.

The semifinal winners will meet in the final on June 8 in Munich, while the losers face off the same day in Stuttgart.

Woltemade is expected to join the UEFA Under-21 Championship in Slovakia from June 11-28 after the Final Four, while Bischof has signed with Bayern through 2029.

Woltemade’s current focus, however, remains on Germany’s senior squad. “But we wanted him around after several losses upfront,” the coach stated.

Nagelsmann pointed to Spain’s recent success as validation of the Nations League’s importance. Spain won the 2023 Nations League before going on to claim the Euro 2024 title.

Spain’s achievement has become a model for other European teams, the German coach said.

  • MIL-OSI Asia-Pac: Special traffic and transport arrangements for Kai Tak Sports Park concerts on May 24 and 25

Source: Hong Kong Government special administrative region

The Transport Department (TD) today (May 23) said that, to facilitate the holding of concerts at the Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) on May 24 and 25 (hereunder referred to as event dates), special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented to provide convenience for spectators to travel to and from the KTSP. Cross-boundary travellers are urged to plan their journeys early and those who plan to return to the Mainland using cross-boundary coach services should purchase tickets in advance.

As the traffic in the vicinity of the KTSP is expected to be heavy, concertgoers should opt for public transport and avoid driving. There will be no private car pick-up/drop-off area (PUDOA) for public use at the KTSP during the event period.

For public transport services, the TD has co-ordinated with local and cross-boundary public transport operators to strengthen their services during the dispersal period on the event dates. The MTR will enhance the interval between trains of the Tuen Ma Line. Franchised bus companies will provide a total of 11 special bus routes at the Sung Wong Toi Road PUDOA to Lok Ma Chau (San Tin) Public Transport Interchange (PTI), the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port/Airport and major districts across the territory.

In addition, the KTSP will arrange cross-boundary coach services during the dispersal period to facilitate travellers’ return to the Mainland via the Lok Ma Chau/Huanggang (LMC/HG) Port. Passengers should purchase tickets in advance. On-site ticket sales will not be available during dispersal. They should refer to the operators’ website (Eternal East Bus: www.myeebus.com/eebusfans; CTG Bus: m.hkctgbus.com/#/layout/home) for the latest ticket information.

For taxi services, the Sung Wong Toi Road PUDOA will be opened from 3pm to midnight for taxi pick-up/drop-off on the event dates. The waiting time will be longer amid an outflux of spectators during dispersal and passengers’ patience is appreciated.

Of note, cross-boundary travellers should pay special attention that, according to the event organiser, this concert is expected to start and end slightly later than past events, and the last MTR train to Lo Wu Station via interchanging at Tai Wai Station on the East Rail Line (ERL) will depart from Sung Wong Toi Station at 10.59pm and Kai Tak Station at 11.01pm respectively. Those who opt for railway services should plan their journeys ahead and arrive at the station platform in advance. Travellers may also take the ERL to Sheung Shui Station and then the KMB route No. 276B or N73, or take the special bus route No. SP12 directly at the Sung Wong Toi Road PUDOA to the Lok Ma Chau (San Tin) PTI, and transfer to the LMC-HG cross-boundary shuttle bus (Yellow Bus) for their journey to the Mainland. As a large number of travellers may use the LMC/HG Port after the concert, it is expected to be very busy and the clearance time will be longer. Temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented along roads to the LMC/HG Port when necessary to ensure the smooth operation of public transport services. The TD has steered operators to reserve standby vehicles and manpower to meet passengers’ demand.

Spectators are advised to heed the real-time information via the on-site broadcast and the “Easy Leave” platform (easyleave.police.gov.hk) as well as the latest traffic news through the TD’s website (www.td.gov.hk), the “HKeMobility” mobile app and radio and television broadcasts.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Five Defendants Federally Charged in Los Angeles, Orange Counties as Part of Nationwide Crackdown on Child Sexual Abuse Offenders

    Source: US FBI

LOS ANGELES – Attorney General Pamela Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel recently announced an unprecedented national initiative to protect the most vulnerable members of our communities. The FBI launched a coordinated effort with all field offices in a sweeping action to identify, track and arrest child sex predators.

Since the end of April, the FBI arrested 205 subjects across the country and rescued 115 children during Operation Restore Justice. These subjects are accused of various crimes including the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material, online enticement and transportation of minors, and child sex trafficking. They include school leaders and registered sex offenders, among others.

In the Central District of California, a seven-county jurisdiction that includes Los Angeles and Orange counties, five defendants were charged with federal crimes as follows:

    • Andrew Castillon, 47, of El Monte, was arrested May 1 on a federal criminal complaint charging him with possession of child pornography. A federal magistrate judge ordered him released on $5,000 bond. Castillon’s arraignment is scheduled for May 27 in United States District Court in Los Angeles. Assistant United States Attorney Thi H. Ho of the General Crimes Section is prosecuting this case.
    • Jose Olvera, 34, of North Hollywood, was arrested May 1 on a federal indictment charging him with two counts of distribution of child pornography and five counts of possession of child pornography. He pleaded not guilty to all charges at his arraignment and a June 23 trial was scheduled in this case. A federal magistrate judge ordered him jailed without bond. Assistant United States Attorney Mikaela W. Gilbert-Lurie of the General Crimes Section is prosecuting this case.
    • Steven Martin Nuss, 66, of San Juan Capistrano, was arrested May 9 on a two-count federal grand jury indictment charging him with distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He pleaded not guilty to both charges and a federal magistrate judge ordered him jailed without bond. He is scheduled to go to trial on July 1. Assistant United States Attorney Melissa S. Rabbani of the Orange County Office is prosecuting this case.
    • David Eugene Parker, 55, of La Palma, was arrested April 30 on federal grand jury indictment charging him with two counts of possession of child pornography. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and a federal magistrate judge ordered him released on $100,000 bond. A June 24 trial date is scheduled in this matter. Assistant United States Attorney Lauren E. Border of the General Crimes Section is prosecuting this case.
    • Gregory Cole Jr., 30, of Lancaster, was arrested April 30 in Arizona after he failed to appear at his trial earlier last month in which a jury found him guilty in absentia of one count of production of child pornography, one count of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity, and one count of receipt of child pornography. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 23, at which time he will face a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of life in federal prison. Assistant United States Attorney Derek R. Flores of the Violent and Organized Crime Section is prosecuting this case.

Two additional individuals were arrested in Los Angeles for sexual exploitation of a child and charges of coercion and enticement, respectively; however, those cases are being prosecuted in separate districts.

An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

“Sexual predators who target children leave emotional scars that can last a lifetime,” said United States Attorney Bill Essayli. “Along with our law enforcement partners, we seek to bring a measure of solace to victims and put criminals on notice that they risk lengthy prison sentences and severe penalties for harming children.”

“The amount of child predators arrested during Operation Restore Justice should shock the conscience of any law-abiding citizen and parents or guardians, in particular,” said Akil Davis, the Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office.  “Each day, our agents are tackling criminal allegations involving children, whether it be online dangers such as ‘sextortion,’ emerging nihilist extremist networks such as ‘764,’ or children being groomed by someone close to them. We urge caretakers of all children to educate themselves about these constant threats targeting the most vulnerable members of our society.”

As the nation marked National Child Abuse Prevention month in April, the timing of this effort was a culmination of countless hours by hundreds of FBI agents. It further underscores the FBI’s unwavering commitment to protecting children and raising awareness about the dangers they face. While the Bureau works relentlessly to investigate these crimes every day, April serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of prevention and community education.

The FBI takes a proactive approach to identify unknown individuals involved in the sexual exploitation of children and the production of child sexual abuse material. We do that through our Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Forces (CEHTTFs) located in each field office. This allows the FBI to combine resources with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The FBI also partners with the nonprofit National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which receives and shares tips about possible child sexual exploitation received through its 24-hour hotline at 1-800-THE-LOST and on missingkids.org.

In 2004, the FBI created the Endangered Child Alert Program (ECAP) to identify individuals involved in the sexual abuse of children and the production of child sexual abuse material. The program is a collaborative effort between the FBI and the NMCEC.

The FBI also offers resources for parents and caregivers to stay engaged with their children’s online and offline activities. The FBI’s Safe Online Surfing (SOS) program teaches students in grades 3 to 8 how to navigate the web safely.

The FBI urges the public to remain vigilant and report suspected exploitation of a child through our tiplines at 1-800-CALL-FBI (225-5324), tips.fbi.gov, or by calling your local FBI field office.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Mexican Cartels Targeting Americans in Timeshare Fraud Scams, FBI Warns

    Source: US FBI

    • Fraude bancario
    • Confabulación para cometer fraude electrónico
    • Confabulación para cometer fraude bancario
    • Blanqueo de dinero

    Source: Government of India (4)

The 2025 FIFA Arab Cup will have a record prize fund of more than $36.5 million, Qatar’s Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the regional tournament announced on Thursday.

The competition, which features senior men’s national teams from the 22-member Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA), representing both Asia and Africa, takes place from December 1 to 18.

“This announcement further elevates the stature of the FIFA Arab Cup, a tournament we reinstated in 2021, and reflects Qatar’s leading role in developing football across the region and beyond,” said Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth and LOC Chairman in a statement.

Having taken over the organisation from UAFA, which initially ran the event, FIFA has been in charge since the tournament’s revival in 2021, when it had a reported prize fund of $25.5 million.

The draw will be held in Doha on Sunday, with defending champions Algeria among the favourites.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Arizona Man Pleads Guilty to Child Exploitation Offenses in Connection with Catfishing Scheme That Targeted Young Boys

    Source: US FBI

PHILADELPHIA – United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Donald Michael, aka “Baseball Fun,” 47, of Queen Creek, Arizona, entered a plea of guilty before United States District Court Judge Mark A. Kearney yesterday to multiple child pornography offenses.

Michael was charged by indictment in July of last year with one count of conspiracy to manufacture child pornography, one count of conspiracy to receive and distribute child pornography, one count of distribution and attempted distribution of child pornography, and two counts of receipt of child pornography. He pleaded guilty to all the charges against him.

The defendant, who served as a baseball coach of minor boys for more than 20 years, engaged in an online child exploitation catfishing scheme for more than 18 months with co-conspirators Andrew Wolf, a former teacher at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy (SCH), and Kray Strange, of Carthage, New York, both of whom were previously convicted and sentenced.

Michael conspired with Wolf and Strange to target minor boys who were Wolf’s current and former students at SCH and to coerce and induce them to produce sexually explicit images and send them to the defendant and his co-conspirators over the internet. They did so by creating multiple fake online profiles where they pretended to be teenaged girls, engaging each of their victims in sexually explicit and graphic chats, and distributing child pornography to the minor boys, in an effort to get them to reciprocate with their own images.

When the boys refused to continue to engage, Michael and his co-conspirators used blackmail and extortion to manipulate them into continuing to produce images. After Wolf and Strange were arrested and incarcerated, this defendant continued his catfishing scheme by targeting and victimizing minor boys who were Little League World Series players.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on August 14 and faces a mandatory minimum term of 15 years’ imprisonment and five years of supervised release, and a maximum possible term of 110 years’ imprisonment and lifetime supervised release. He will also be required to register as a child sex offender under both state and federal law.

“Donald Michael and his co-conspirators strategized at length about how to ‘bait’ young boys into taking and sending explicit images of themselves,” said U.S. Attorney Metcalf. “They reveled in the anonymity that the internet provided them to target and catfish their young victims. Unmasking these predators is a priority for my office and the FBI, as we work to protect children everywhere from sexual exploitation.”

“The sexual exploitation of children remains one of the most devious crimes the men and women of the FBI investigate,” said Wayne A. Jacobs, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Philadelphia. “This serves as a reminder how seriously the FBI and our partners take the online victimization of minors. We will continue to work tirelessly to protect children from abuse and exploitation, and that ensure that those who harm them will be held accountable.”

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys’ Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. For more information about Project Safe Childhood, please visit projectsafechildhood.gov.

The case was investigated by the FBI and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Kelly Harrell and Michelle Rotella.

“Inclusive missions are not only fair–but also smarter and more legitimate”, said Ms. Roselinda Soipan Tuya, Cabinet Secretary for Defence of Kenya, at last week’s Peacekeeping Ministerial in Berlin. More than 130 Member States gathered to discuss the future of peacekeeping, including how to create environments where both men and women are empowered to serve together.

Despite progress, women remain underrepresented and face barriers to full participation. This is not only a matter of equality—it also affects effectiveness. Studies123 find that peacekeeping missions are more successful when women are meaningfully represented among military, police, and civilian staff, including at the senior leadership level.

During the Ministerial, UN Member States committed to enhancing women’s participation at all levels by fostering an environment where they can thrive. “We need to look at how to make this work in our context,” said Ms. Tuya. “We cannot continue to leave out women… it is like going into a football match without half of the team.”

Inclusive teams make peacekeeping more effective

In the peacekeeping mission in Abyei (UNISFA), an area nestled between Sudan and South Sudan, women peacekeepers were instrumental in building trust with community leaders and women’s groups. This engagement enabled access to new information, which helped UNISFA detect early warnings of attacks and prevent violence.

In the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon (UNIFIL) a military unit from Ghana was deployed that is comprised of 20% women. The unit reports a significant increase of trust in UNIFIL and its forces in the communities where they have patrolled, as well as an increase willingness of women to interact with the mission.

Women are often uniquely able to build rapport with community members, granting access to critical security information, such as areas at risk for conflict-related sexual violence, helping us better protect the populations we serve.

Visible participation by women in UN peace operations also helps dismantle barriers that prevent local women from engaging in peace and political processes. Women peacekeepers serve as role models, inspiring women and girls to pursue non-traditional paths, in turn acting as catalysts for inclusive societies where women are represented and active at every level.

Many steps forward, and more to go

Women peacekeepers in civilian, military, and police roles have been rising steadily over the last several years. The share of women in military roles has doubled since 2018, for example, but still sits at just 10%.

Persistent barriers continue to limit women’s access to peacekeeping roles—especially in military and leadership positions. Equipment such as flak jackets and helmets are often not designed for women, compromising safety. Inadequate sanitation facilities can prevent women participating in long-range patrols.

Creating an inclusive environment—where all personnel, regardless of gender or background, feel empowered and respected—is critical for advancing peace effectively.

The UN and Member States are working to address remaining barriers by deploying more women peacekeepers and fostering a work culture that enables them to serve effectively and meaningfully. Recruitment pipelines are being established to increase the pool of women available for deployment, including in leadership roles. Facilities, accommodations, health services, and equipment are being improved to support the needs of all personnel and increased efforts are being made to protect them from sexual harassment.

Gen. Mohan Subramanian, Force Commander of the peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, underscored the important role mission leaders play in advancing these objectives: “The most important thing to support uniformed women is to ensure leaders [have] the right mindset,” he said.

    Redoubling efforts

During the Ministerial, Member States made key commitments to continue progress, particularly in military roles.  These included providing gender-sensitive equipment, deploying mixed-gender platoons trained to engage with host communities, and funding “barrier assessments” to identify and address challenges uniformed women face in countries that deploy peacekeepers to UN missions.“An enabling environment begins at home: participation of uniformed women at all levels and all roles at Member State level. All Member States must advance this at a national level,” underscored Brigadier General Jürgen Schrödl, Head of Sub-division III, Directorate-General for Military Strategy and Operations for Germany’s Ministry of Defence.

These initiatives aim to remove obstacles preventing women from joining peacekeeping operations and serve to their full potential. With global conflicts at their highest since 1945 and peacekeeping budgets declining, we cannot afford to overlook any measure that enhances our effectiveness. Supporting women’s participation is critical to the success of our mandates. “Meaningful inclusion of women is not optional, it is essential” stressed Monica Bolaños Pérez, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala. “It is a matter of operational effectiveness.”

Background: What is the Women, Peace and Security Agenda?

Adopted in October 2000, the landmark Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) recognizes the vital role of women in peace and security. It calls for increased participation of women at all decision-making levels, protection of women and girls from gender-based violence, and the integration of gender perspectives in peacekeeping and conflict resolution efforts.

Since its adoption, UN Peacekeeping has been advancing on integrating gender perspectives and advancing the implementation of the 1325 Agenda including in the current scope of seven peacekeeping missions.

In 2018, the UN introduced the Uniformed Gender Parity Strategy as a key step towards meeting WPS goals in UN peacekeeping. It aims to increase the meaningful participation of women in military, police and justice and corrections roles across all missions by addressing barriers, setting concrete targets, and fostering inclusive environments.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the resolution.

  • MIL-OSI Global: Marathon runners rely on family and experts to succeed, while races rely on passionate volunteers

Source: The Conversation – Canada – By Julia Yarkoni, Fellow in Global Journalism, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto

This past April, the Boston Marathon attracted more than 32,000 runners and approximately half a million spectators. With such a huge crowd on hand, it’s easy to think that the athletes’ major source of support comes from fans of the sport. More than a million people annually run marathon races, and most of them have a team of people behind them.

Marathoners rely on the strengths of a community of people. Families, coaches, marathon volunteers, race directors and health professionals dedicate time and energy to the runners’ dreams. And each group protects the health of the athletes in a different way. These unsung heroes make the impossible possible and they do it because the sport of long-distance running is a community endeavour.

Families lay the foundation; research found that partners are “strikingly co-operative” as the non-running partner often picks up chores and child care uncomplainingly because they believe in the end goal. And a [2023 New York Times] article reported that athletes reciprocate by giving their partner recreational time.

    Running is a lifestyle

When a family member is training to complete a marathon, families recognize there is safety in sticking together. Registered dietitian Kristy Baumann, owner of Marathon Nutritionist in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., has run 13 marathons. She describes how her mother would accompany her when she trained for hours.

“My mom would bike with me on my long runs,” she says.

In a 2015 article for Runner’s World, runner Courtney Crandell described how her family made sure she ate, maintained her health insurance and had a ride home after the race.

Long-distance running draws people together who are not family. Coaches get to know their runners intimately and can prevent racers from ending up in dangerous situations. For example, Molly Monk, an athlete with unpredictable blood pressure, relied on her coach to help her train so that she avoided passing out during the marathon.

    Preparing physically and mentally

Andy Jones-Wilkins, an American endurance running coach and writer, takes pride in being able to train marathon racers for four to six months because he values his relationships with runners. Jones-Wilkins, 57, is currently coaching 24 athletes scattered across the U.S.

“My job as a coach is to give them not just the physical but also the mental and emotional tools to not just prepare for the race but to execute and to finish,” he says.

Jones-Wilkins stays in contact with his athletes to debrief and to discuss with them the next step forward, particularly if they were disappointed on race day.

Thirty-four years of long-distance running has taught Jones-Wilkins who the true unsung heroes are: “The people who put on these events (race directors) are the heart and soul of this sport.”

    Supporting runners

Jones-Wilkins’ admiration for race directors led him to write “The Race Director Chronicles,” an online series profiling different race directors. He says they are often unpaid, deal with thousands of race details and invariably face negative feedback. He particularly admires the talent these individuals have for networking.

Long-distance running brings together introverts and extroverts. Tim Bradley is one of those extroverts. A volunteer co-ordinator specializing in running events in Los Angeles, he works 11 races a year and also created a volunteer registration platform to help other volunteer co-ordinators: “I can’t think of other sports that recruit so many volunteers and are so dependent on them.”

He typically starts recruitment four months before a race and registers 4,000 volunteers in preparation for race day. Volunteer responsibilities include raising funds, registering runners, building spectator stands, operating refreshment stations, regulating traffic, offering first aid, tracking and publishing results and cleaning up.

Volunteers at major races go beyond first aid, and prepare volunteers to treat dehydration, heat stroke, low sodium levels and orthopedic injuries. They also provide a sweep medical bus to pick up runners who cannot finish the race.

    More than the run

Sometimes the most important role a person can play in a marathon runner’s life is to tell them when there’s a higher priority requiring attention than the marathon itself. As a dietitian, Baumann says she encounters young women who struggle with nutrition issues that come to light when they start to train.

“My job is twofold: helping people fuel for performance, feel their best and finish their race strong but also a lot that comes with it for many people is healing their relationship with food,” she says.

Marathons get their name from the Greek legend of the messenger Pheidippides, who ran 40 kilometres from the town of Marathon to Athens to announce Greece’s victory over Persia in a battle on the plain of Marathon.

Today a marathon runner’s successful finish is celebrated by many people who love the sport of long-distance running because its message is that solidarity wins.

Julia Yarkoni does not work for, consult, own shares in or receive funding from any company or organisation that would benefit from this article, and has disclosed no relevant affiliations beyond their academic appointment.

  • MIL-OSI Security: Matt Jukes takes on role as Deputy Commissioner

Source: United Kingdom London Metropolitan Police

Matt Jukes has been confirmed as the Met’s new permanent Deputy Commissioner.

Assistant Commissioner Jukes is currently acting in the role since the retirement of Dame Lynne Owens earlier this month.

He will now formally step into the substantive role of Deputy Commissioner on Monday, 26 May.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Jukes said: “I am honoured to be appointed as Deputy Commissioner. I’ve had the privilege of serving communities across the UK throughout my career, including here in London since 2020.

“I have seen the incredible difference local policing can make to communities, and in recent years, the progress we’ve made in ensuring the Met is an organisation our people and London can be proud of. I’ve seen first-hand the efforts of tens of thousands of dedicated officers and staff, all working day and night to continue building the public’s confidence in us.

“We have much more still to do, but I am looking forward to building on the work of my brave colleagues across the Met and building on the legacy of my predecessor Dame Lynne, who was pivotal in driving forward our mission of reform.”

Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley said: “I am delighted Matt has been formally appointed as Deputy Commissioner.

“He is an exceptional leader with a wealth of experience from his time across South Yorkshire, South Wales and of course here in the Met as head of National Counter Terrorism Policing.

“He has lived the realities of neighbourhood policing right through to some of the most complex counter-terror issues we’ve faced in decades. He has a proven track record of reducing crime and increasing confidence in communities right across the UK. His skills and experience will be pivotal in our ongoing work to reform our service to London.

“Matt is held in incredibly high esteem by all those who have already worked alongside him. I look forward to seeing how he shapes this role and continues to build on the legacy left by Dame Lynne.”

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I know how determined Matt Jukes is to help deliver a New Met for London, build on the progress we have achieved tackling crime in the capital and improve the confidence and trust London’s communities have in the police.

“His experience as an officer, detective and across a variety of senior roles will be invaluable as the Met continues to reform, modernise and improve the service it delivers. I’m looking forward to working with him and keeping the momentum of change going to deliver a safer London for all.”

Minister for Policing and Crime Prevention Dame Diana Johnson said: “The role of Deputy Commissioner is one of the most demanding and important in policing, so I am delighted that Matt has been appointed to take on that challenge.

“I also want to thank Matt for his vision and leadership as head of CT Policing since 2021.

“Matt’s experience, leadership and dedication to duty, which he has demonstrated throughout his career, proves he is the right person to help lead the charge in reducing crime, restoring confidence in policing and making our streets safer.

“His skills, track record of delivery and understanding of what’s needed to protect the public and keep communities safe, will be indispensable when it comes to policing the capital.”

After Dame Lynne announced her intention to retire in February, a process to recruit her successor was launched. That process concluded, with AC Jukes recommended as the successful candidate.

As is standard procedure, Home Secretary and Royal Household approval of that recommendation was required and has now been received.

    Bio

Deputy Commissioner Jukes joined policing in 1995 as a constable with South Yorkshire Police.

From patrolling Sheffield’s East End, he worked as a detective, and in a variety of other roles, working his way up to the position of Chief Superintendent, Borough Commander.

He joined South Wales Police in 2010 as an Assistant Chief Constable leading on Specialist Crime and served as Deputy Chief Constable before being appointed Chief Constable in January 2018. He was awarded the Queen’s Policing Medal in that year’s Honours.

He held the post until November 2020 when he joined the Met as Assistant Commissioner, leading and overseeing transformation programmes, moving to the post of Head of UK Counter Terrorism Policing and the Met’s Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations (ACSO) in July 2021. This continued a longstanding focus on intelligence and security, that began with a first role in counter terrorism in 2001 and saw him perform the role of counter-terrorism Commander in a number of significant operations.

As ACSO and Head of CTP, his responsibilities included countering threats from domestic and international terrorism and the protection of the Royal Family, Ministers and Parliament. He oversaw the CTP investigation and response to the murder of Sir David Amess MP and contributed to security at the funeral of HM The Queen and HM The King’s Coronation. Most recently, he led responses to the recent conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.

As the national lead on security policing, he oversaw a four-fold increase in operations emanating from espionage, foreign interference and war crimes over almost four years.

This 30-year career has been split between periods in specialist areas of policing, and others at the heart of local policing, delivering for communities and supporting frontline colleagues, including a focus on their wellbeing. He is a former Chair, and now Vice Chair, of Police Sport UK, and a Patron of the Police Roll of Honour Trust.

He became acting Deputy Commissioner in May 2025.

  • MIL-OSI United Kingdom: Foster families celebrate Foster Care Fortnight with a fun day at Shipley Park

    Source: City of Derby

Over 260 foster carers, children, and families from across the East Midlands came together for a sunshine-filled day at Shipley Park to celebrate Foster Care Fortnight 2025 — and what a day it was!

Organised by Foster for East Midlands Councils, made up of Derby City, Nottingham City, Nottinghamshire County, and Derbyshire County Councils – the event was a special way to say thank you to our incredible foster carers and raise awareness about the importance of fostering.

This year’s theme was “The Power of Relationships”, and it really came to life on the day. Smiles, laughter, and warm conversations were shared everywhere you looked. Friends old and new came together to enjoy games, share stories, and celebrate the strong bonds that make fostering so special.

Foster carers play a vital role in our community. They provide safe, loving homes for children who cannot live with their birth families – often during very difficult times. Their dedication helps children feel supported, valued, and safe, and it gives them the chance to grow and thrive. The Councils across the East Midlands depend on these incredible individuals to help care for children locally, and this event was just one way of showing how much their hard work is appreciated.

The event was packed with exciting activities, including a bouncy castle, African drumming, arts and crafts, mini trampoline bouncing, dancing and even kickboxing. There was even a ‘best dressed dog’ competition, as we know our fury friends form part of fostering families too!

Families also got to take part in a Foster Walk, inspired by the national campaign led by The Fostering Network. Collectively, foster carers and their families walked over 40 miles around the beautiful park, waving fostering flags and showing pride in their community.

Entertainment came from the amazing Plus One Theatre Group, who brought music, dancing and energy to the stage. Thanks to kind donations from the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) organisation and the food producer SmartParc SERGO Derby, children also enjoyed tasty treats and a free ice cream each – a perfect way to cool down on a sunny day!

The Ross foster family attending the event said:

Just wanted to express our appreciation for today’s event. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed it. I know a lot of hard work and effort goes into organising these things and it was totally worth it. Thanks to everyone who has participated.

    Another foster carer family said:

Congratulations on running a wonderfully successful event!

A new person considering fostering, came along to the event and they said:

Coming to the fostering event was a big step for me, but I’m so glad I did. The child I care for absolutely loved it – we had a fabulous time together. I couldn’t believe everything was free, from the ice cream to the tea, coffee, and all the amazing activities. As I looked around, I found myself thinking, maybe fostering is going to be okay for us. For the first time, I felt like we might really be part of something. I’m already asking what’s next – I want to get more involved.

Activity provider Rok-Ard Kickboxing team said:

We had a great time at the event, working with the families and passing on our Kickboxing knowledge, it was lovely seeing a range of individuals taking part.

Cllr Paul Hezelgrave, Lead Council’s Cabinet Member for Foster for East Midlands Councils said:

Foster carers are true champions for children in our community. The love, stability and care they provide helps young people feel safe and confident to move forward in life. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication, and events like this are just one way we can say thank you and show them how valued they are.

By bringing together foster families and community supporters, the day truly showed the power of caring, connection, and fun. Foster Care Fortnight is more than just a celebration – it’s a reminder of how important foster carers are, and how much they are valued.

  • MIL-OSI USA: UConn Athletic Trainer Honored After Saving a Life

    Source: US State of Connecticut

In the world of high school athletics, athletic trainers are often the unsung heroes, steadfast, skilled, and always ready. But for Kyia Barnett, athletic trainer with the UConn Institute of Sports Medicine a recent evening at Bloomfield High School turned into a moment of true heroism.

On a Monday evening, shortly after 7 p.m., Kyia was wrapping up a long day in her office after a late practice when she received a frantic call from one of the track and field coaches. The message was urgent, 911 had just been called, and she was needed at the track immediately.

Without hesitation, Kyia grabbed her medical bag and AED and sprinted to the scene. When she arrived, she found two adult men: one lying unresponsive on the track, the other kneeling beside him in distress. Kyia quickly assessed the situation and, finding no pulse, immediately initiated CPR.

“When you get a frantic call like that for a medical emergency, the only thing in the moment for me is to blank out everything else around me and zone in on the situation and do what needs to be done,” said Barnett.  “It’s almost like second nature to hyperfocus in emergencies. At the same time, as soon as I assessed the situation of the collapsed individual with no pulse, it’s shocking. In our line of work, it’s uncommon to deal with cardiac arrest, and we also hope to never see it even though we have been intensely trained and prepared for it since day one.”

Barnett performed four to five rounds of chest compressions before EMS arrived on the scene. Thanks to her rapid and skilled intervention, paramedics were able to regain a pulse and transport the patient to a local hospital for further treatment and is now recovering.

“Kyia’s swift action and clinical expertise were instrumental in saving a life that night. Her calm under pressure, unwavering focus, and precise execution are the very embodiment of what it means to be an athletic trainer,” said Christopher Watkins, director of ambulatory services for Storrs, Willimantic, and Putnam.

Justin Bolton, Athletic Trainer, Kyia Barnett and Carin Dulin, Athletic Trainer, Clinical Practice Manager celebrate Kyia’s award from CATA.

Barnett was recently honored with the Connecticut Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA) President’s Award, a special recognition presented at the discretion of the CATA Executive Council to acknowledge excellence in the practice of Athletic Training.

“There is no question that Kyia exemplifies this excellence every day, and on that evening, she went far beyond the call of duty,” says Anne Horbatuck, Vice President, Ambulatory Services and Chief Operating Officer, UConn Medical Group.

“It is a blessing and honor to receive this award, not only for me and my own successes, but to bring attention to other athletic trainers’. Our skills, responsiveness, and assets are extremely vital to athletic departments, as well as communities,” says Barnett. “I’m thankful that I was in the right place at the right time in this situation, and that my many years of experience and training, alongside my attentiveness, aided me in saving this man’s life.”

This event also speaks volumes about the trust and strong relationships Barnett has built with the Bloomfield High School coaching staff. In the most critical moment, their first call after 911 wasn’t to a supervisor or colleague, it was to Barnett

“It’s an honor, truly to be an athletic trainer. We are not only the medical backbone to athletic teams, but we are also a shoulder to cry on for athletes (and coaches), a safe space for them, and even the comical output to brighten one’s bad day,” says Barnett. “Somedays, we are simply just cheering on our athletes at games after rehabbing athletes back to their sport, others we may be in the situation where another’s lives are in our hands. I’ve put so much hard work, education, dedication, love, and compassion into being an Athletic Trainer, and I would not trade it for the world.”

New UK-Japan partnership to boost economic growth and cultural exchanges

Boost for UK businesses and growth as new Musubi Initiative strengthens UK-Japan connections

    • Innovative public-private partnership to encourage investment and grow the next generation of UK and Japanese leaders, while creating new opportunities for sports programmes, youth scholarships and cultural exchanges
    • Backed by major partners including UCL, Liverpool FC International Academy, SSE Pacifico and Hello Kitty presented by Sanrio

Current and future business leaders across the UK and Japan will benefit from a range of new opportunities thanks to the innovative Musubi Initiative launched at the World Expo in Osaka by UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy today.

The initiative, which begins a new phase of UK-Japan cooperation, will draw in private funding to support a diverse range of programmes to create lasting connections spanning youth scholarships, sport, cultural exchanges, science, innovation and opportunities for women in business in both countries. It builds upon the UK and Japan’s increasingly strong relationship, reflected in collaboration on defence, security, digital innovation and expanding trade through the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the Hiroshima Accord.

Named after the Japanese word for ‘connection’, the Musubi Initiative is a first-of-its-kind for the UK-Japan partnership and will strengthen ties and grow the international talent pool needed to grasp future opportunities.

Unveiled as part of the UK National Day celebrations at World Expo 2025 Osaka, it represents another step forward in delivering the Government’s Plan for Change by fostering international relationships that drive economic growth and opportunity.

UK Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lisa Nandy said:

The UK’s vibrant display in Osaka demonstrates the breadth of creativity and innovation from across our four nations and our strong partnership with Japan. From BBC Planet Earth and Paddington to our world-famous musicians, the UK’s creative industries are a truly global hit, worth £125 billion to our economy and vital to our Plan for Change – it’s great to see them in the spotlight today as part of UK National Day.

I am delighted that we have deepened our relationship with Japan further through this new Musubi Initiative, which will create even more opportunities for businesses in both the UK and Japan now and in the future.

    Pioneer Partners

The Culture Secretary announced the first group of Musubi Pioneer Partners, who will help deliver the initiative’s vision, including:

    Sports programmes:

    • Liverpool Football Club International Academy sports programme supported by Musubi developing young players and providing opportunities to build leadership qualities.
    • The UK Ekiden, inspired by Japan’s famous relay race, with UK and Japanese university students participating.

Representing the strong links between the UK and Japan, Hello Kitty presented by Sanrio, the globally popular Japanese brand, will be the Musubi Friendship Ambassador, while Japanese firm Dentsu PR Consulting Inc. will be providing PR advisory services.

The programmes under the Musubi Initiative will be delivered with an ambition to create a long-lasting legacy and network of alumni that will become champions of their communities, their country and of UK-Japan relations.

The Culture Secretary has also been in Japan to promote Britain’s creative industries overseas, push British brands within Japanese markets, and attract trade and investment into the UK that can be redistributed across the country to the places where it is needed the most.

Yesterday (21 May) the Culture Secretary met with Minoru Kiuchi, a senior Japanese minister with responsibility for the Cool Japan Strategy, in Tokyo to discuss strengthening creative industries collaboration. She also met with executives from major video games organisations, including Bandai Namco and Nintendo, as well as the Japanese cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Japan is currently the UK’s 6th largest investor, with an inward Foreign Direct Investment stock of more than £86 billion at the end of 2023, and with bilateral trade worth £31 billion in 2024. Japanese investment into the UK has already roughly doubled over the last decade, with nearly 1,000 Japanese companies sustaining 200,000 UK jobs.

    Exports Minister Gareth Thomas said:

The UK and Japan enjoy a dynamic and enduring trading relationship, with £86 billion in investment to the UK economy.

As part of the Government’s Plan for Change, initiatives like the Musubi Initiative and Expo 2025 are helping to strengthen our ties with key economic partners, creating new opportunities for businesses and deepening people-to-people connections across the world.

Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya said:

It is connections between people that develop our societies and serve as a foundation for exchanges between countries.

In the Japan-UK Hiroshima Accord, issued by the leaders of Japan and the UK in 2023, we also confirmed our cooperation in revitalising people-to-people exchanges, including in the key areas of tourism, studying abroad, culture, and the working holiday programme.

I hope this initiative will strengthen our “Musubi (bonds)” especially among the younger generation and that our partnership, now stronger than ever, will continue to grow.

The UK’s presence at World Expo 2025 is providing a global showcase for British companies and creative talent.

To mark UK National Day (22 May), there were musical performances from all four UK nations featured across Yumeshima Island, from bagpipes to bass guitars. This was followed by the Japanese premiere of BBC’s ‘Planet Earth III Live in Concert’.

Top Sportsbook Promos to Claim at Sportsbetting.ag

SportsBetting.ag offers one of the most competitive bonus lineups for US players, with promotions built to reward both newcomers and loyal users. These bonuses go beyond typical one-time offers and provide ongoing value across the full range of sports and betting styles. Here’s a closer look at the top sportsbook promos currently available.

50% Welcome Bonus up to $1,000

The flagship offer at SportsBetting.ag is the 50% welcome bonus, available to all new players making their first deposit. By using promo code SB1000, players can unlock up to $1,000 in bonus funds, starting with a minimum deposit of just $20. This offer comes with a 10x rollover requirement, which is competitive among US-facing sportsbooks. The bonus funds can be used across all major sports markets, giving players the flexibility to bet how they want. With 30 days to meet the rollover, it’s a strong value for bettors who plan to stay active.

    25% Lifetime Reload Bonus

Unlike other sportsbooks that restrict reload offers to limited-time windows, SportsBetting.ag gives players a consistent edge through its 25% lifetime reload bonus. By entering promo code LIFEBONUS with each deposit of $50 or more, users receive a 25% boost—every single time. The rollover requirement is a manageable 6x, making it one of the most accessible ongoing promotions for US sports bettors. There are no restrictions on how often this bonus can be claimed, which makes it ideal for players who deposit frequently and want to stretch their bankroll further without waiting for a special event.

    Risk-Free Bets on Select Events

For marquee matchups and special occasions, SportsBetting.ag offers limited-time risk-free bet promotions. These typically surface around major sports events like the Super Bowl, NBA Playoffs, and high-profile UFC cards. While the terms can vary, most risk-free offers involve placing a wager (usually between $25 and $50) and receiving a refund in site credit if the bet loses. These promotions are a great way to place high-stakes bets or try out less familiar markets without the usual downside. Availability is announced in advance, and players may need to opt in or use a specific code to qualify.

    Odds Boosts and Enhanced Payouts

Daily odds boosts are another key promotional feature at SportsBetting.ag. These enhanced lines apply to a wide range of markets including moneylines, parlays, and player props across major leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL. Odds boosts offer significantly better potential payouts without requiring larger bets or special entry steps—they are automatically available and clearly marked in the bet slip. For players focused on maximizing returns without taking on extra risk, this is one of the most straightforward ways to get added value.

    Seasonal and Event-Based Bonuses

Throughout the year, SportsBetting.ag rolls out rotating bonuses tied to major sports seasons and events. These include March Madness bracket challenges, NFL kickoff promos, playoff specials, and even leaderboard contests that reward volume play. While the format of these promotions can shift—from free bets to deposit matches or betting competitions—they consistently offer strong value for players who stay active during high-profile sports periods. Details are posted regularly on the site’s promotions page, and these limited-time offers are often among the most lucrative for engaged users.

Overall, SportsBetting.ag’s bonus program is built for longevity and consistency. Whether you’re signing up for the first time or placing your 100th wager, there’s always a promotion available to make your bets go further. With clear terms and real benefits, it stands out as the most rewarding sportsbook promos site for US players.

Sports Betting Markets to Explore with Bonuses

SportsBetting.ag doesn’t just offer top-tier promotions—it backs them up with a full roster of betting markets across all major US sports. Whether you’re using a welcome bonus or taking advantage of reload offers, you’ll have access to deep betting lines, player props, futures, and live in-game options. Here’s a breakdown of the top sports markets where your bonus funds can go to work.

    NFL Betting

The NFL remains the most popular league for US sports bettors, and SportsBetting.ag provides full-season coverage—from preseason to the Super Bowl. Bonuses can be used on moneylines, spreads, totals, player props, and futures for every team in the league. You can back dominant franchises like the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills, or bet on rising teams like the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans. Odds boosts and risk-free bet offers often center around Sunday matchups and primetime games, giving bettors even more value during key NFL weeks.

    NBA Betting

Basketball fans can use sportsbook promos on every NBA game, including regular season matchups, playoffs, and the Finals. Teams like the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers draw consistent betting action, especially when tied to featured promotions or odds enhancements. SportsBetting.ag also offers extensive coverage of player props and live betting for fast-paced, in-game wagers—ideal for turning reload bonuses into real-time profits.

    MLB Betting

MLB’s long season is perfect for stretching out your bonus funds over time. SportsBetting.ag covers all 30 teams with daily lines, team totals, pitcher props, and game-specific boosts. Popular teams like the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves attract major market action, while sharp bettors can find value in under-the-radar clubs like the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays. During peak months, promos often include parlay boosts and streak-based bonuses tied to MLB series outcomes.

    NHL Betting

Hockey fans will find competitive odds and full-season markets across the NHL, including moneylines, puck lines, goal props, and period-specific bets. Teams such as the Colorado Avalanche, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, and Edmonton Oilers lead in futures and nightly handle. Bonus offers are often extended during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with enhanced odds and second-chance bet promos for close games and overtime thrillers.

    College Sports (NCAAF & NCAAB)

College football and basketball bring weekly excitement, especially during bowl season and March Madness. SportsBetting.ag offers deep coverage of powerhouses like the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, and Texas Longhorns in NCAAF, as well as elite hoops programs like the Kansas Jayhawks, Duke Blue Devils, and UConn Huskies in NCAAB. Bonuses can be used across spreads, moneylines, over/unders, and tournament props, with special promotions typically activated during major playoff and championship weekends.

    UFC & Combat Sports

For fans of MMA and boxing, SportsBetting.ag provides full cards with pre-fight odds, method-of-victory props, round betting, and live wagering. UFC events featuring stars like Israel Adesanya, Sean O’Malley, Jon Jones, and Tom Aspinall often come with exclusive promos, including risk-free bets and enhanced parlays. These are high-action opportunities to turn bonus dollars into quick returns.

No matter your sport of choice, SportsBetting.ag ensures that every bonus you claim can be used across a wide selection of betting markets. From top-tier NFL matchups to under-the-radar college games and headline UFC cards, there’s always action—and promo value—to explore.

Top Sportsbook Promo Bet Types at SportsBetting.ag

SportsBetting.ag gives players flexibility when using bonuses by supporting a wide range of bet types across major leagues and events. Whether you’re activating a welcome offer, reload bonus, or risk-free bet, you’ll find multiple ways to put your promo dollars to work. Here are the most popular and promo-friendly bet types available on the platform:

    • Moneyline Bets – A straightforward wager on which team or athlete will win. Perfect for new bettors using bonuses, especially on favorites with strong odds.
    • Point Spreads –  Ideal for balancing mismatches, spread bets are popular in NFL and NBA markets and count toward rollover requirements for most promotions.
    • Totals (Over/Under) –  Wagering on combined score totals is a common choice for using reload bonuses—especially in high-scoring leagues like the NBA and college football.
    • Player Props – Bet on individual performances like passing yards, home runs, or goals scored. These bets are available across NFL, NBA, MLB, and more, and are often featured in special boosted promos.
    • Parlays – Combine multiple bets into one for bigger payouts. SportsBetting.ag frequently offers parlay insurance or boosts that pair well with promo funds.
    • Live (In-Game) Bets – Bet as the action unfolds with dynamic odds that shift in real time. Many bonuses can be used for live betting, making it a popular option for experienced players.
    • Futures – Long-term bets on outcomes like championship winners or season awards. Futures are a smart way to lock in value using bonus funds before a season heats up.
    • Risk-Free Bets – Offered during special events, these let you place a wager and get refunded in site credit if it loses—great for trying larger bets with less risk.

Each of these bet types not only counts toward promo rollover requirements but also gives bettors strategic ways to stretch bonus value. Whether you’re playing it safe or chasing big wins, SportsBetting.ag gives you the tools and flexibility to do both.

Why These Are the Best Sportsbook Promos & Bonuses

In a crowded US sportsbook market, a promotional offering is only as good as its consistency, clarity, and actual value to players. What sets SportsBetting.ag apart is its ability to deliver reliable, ongoing bonuses that are easy to claim, transparent in structure, and designed to serve real bettors—not just first-time sign-ups. Here’s what makes it stand out:

    Consistent Value Across the Board

While many sportsbooks focus solely on welcome offers, SportsBetting.ag builds long-term value with ongoing reload bonuses, risk-free bets, and odds boosts. The 25% lifetime reload bonus is a prime example of this approach—available on every deposit with no seasonal limitations. This kind of ongoing support keeps players engaged beyond their first wager.

    USA-Focused Promotions

All bonuses and terms at SportsBetting.ag are tailored specifically for US-based players. That means easy qualification, support for major American sports, and betting options structured around leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA. There’s no guesswork when it comes to currency, deposit methods, or availability—everything is streamlined for a US audience.

Clear Bonus Terms and Fast Access

One of the biggest frustrations with promos at other sites is vague or buried terms. SportsBetting.ag takes a different route by clearly publishing rollover requirements, eligible bet types, and expiration timelines. Bonuses are credited quickly, often within minutes of deposit, and funds can be used immediately on qualifying bets.

    Wide Range of Promo-Eligible Markets

It’s not enough to have great bonuses—they also need to work on the sports and bet types players care about. SportsBetting.ag supports promo use across all major markets including spreads, totals, props, parlays, and live bets. Whether you’re betting on the Super Bowl, a midweek NBA game, or a UFC main event, your bonus funds apply.

    Trust and Longevity

With over two decades in the industry, SportsBetting.ag has built a reputation for reliability and player-focused service. In the US market—where trust is everything—its long history, responsive support, and steady promo track record help it stand out as a top-tier site for both casual and high-volume bettors.

For US sports fans looking to get more out of every bet, SportsBetting.ag offers a promo system that’s built on value, not gimmicks. It’s not just about what you get when you join—it’s about what you keep getting every time you play.

Conclusion: Why SportsBetting.Ag is the Top Sportsbook Promo Site Today

SportsBetting.ag has firmly established itself as the top sportsbook promo site for US players by delivering more than just flashy sign-up deals. Its consistent, easy-to-claim bonuses, player-friendly terms, and full compatibility with major American sports markets make it a standout choice for bettors who want lasting value.

From the generous $1,000 welcome bonus to lifetime reload offers, odds boosts, and risk-free bets, every promotion is structured to benefit both new and returning users. The site’s commitment to transparency, fast payouts, and real usability across bet types sets it apart in a market where too many bonuses come with hidden restrictions or limited shelf life.

Whether you’re placing your first bet or managing a full-season strategy, SportsBetting.ag offers a promotional experience that works hard for your bankroll. For serious bettors in the USA who want real rewards without the fine print, this is the sportsbook that delivers.

Stewart’s Fourth Consecutive Final and Second Victory of his Top Fuel Career

American Rebel Light Beer Sponsorship of Tony Stewart Racing Drivers Tony Stewart and Matt Hagan Celebrate Stewart Win and Stewart Heads to 109th Indianapolis 500 to Join the INDYCAR on FOX team for Pre-Race Show

Nashville, TN, May 22, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — American Rebel Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: AREB) (“American Rebel” or the “Company”), creator of American Rebel Beer (americanrebelbeer.com) and a designer, manufacturer, and marketer of branded safes, personal security and self-defense products and apparel (americanrebel.com), is proud to congratulate Tony Stewart on his victory at the Gerber Collision & Glass NHRA Route 66 Nationals in the Top Fuel Dragster (nhra.com) this past weekend at the Route 66 Raceway (route66raceway.com) in Chicago. This past weekend’s race marked the fourth consecutive final for Stewart and the second victory of his Top Fuel Career.

“I said at Vegas that I was extremely impressed and pleased with the progress our team has been making,” said Stewart. “There were tricky track conditions on Friday, so I was excited about getting number one qualifier in Q1. There are a lot of heavy hitters that can really perform when the track is great and we just hadn’t been there yet. When the track cooled off and we ran a 3.67 (ET) yesterday, we got really excited. We had talked amongst our group about how tough it is to race for a championship at the end of the season when we haven’t raced in cooler conditions like we will have in the Fall. We had that this weekend, so to run that well was very encouraging. Now we have data that we can go back and look at and won’t be starting from scratch. We had a mixture of warm and cool conditions today for eliminations. I talked with Leah (Pruett, Stewart’s wife and driver of the Tony Stewart Racing (tsrnitro.com) Top Fuel Dragster until she stepped away to start a family) before the Final about what I had to do to beat Justin (Ashley). We concluded I had to just keep doing what I’ve been doing and get up on the wheel. You know when you race Justin, you have to bring your “A game” and rise to the occasion. His reaction times are the best out here and he does that both in qualifying and eliminations. That makes today’s win for our Rinnai crew that much more special. They have a great team and program. When you can beat them, it is a feather in your cap because you’re beating one of the best teams in the business.”

“I couldn’t be more proud for Tony, Leah, Matt and the entire Tony Stewart Racing team,” said American Rebel CEO Andy Ross. “Tony making four consecutive finals with two of them being wins is amazing; and Matt is also running really well. Our distributors, retailers and customers love our association with Tony Stewart Racing and Tony’s support team have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help American Rebel Beer every way they can. It’s been a fantastic experience!”

Stewart’s previous three consecutive final-round appearances came at the 65th NHRA Winternationals, NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Las Vegas, and American Rebel Light NHRA 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte in addition to the fourth consecutive final-round appearance at the Gerber Collision & Glass NHRA Route 66 Nationals in Chicago.

The fact that Tony Stewart may be the most versatile driver in the history of auto racing was highlighted again this weekend as Stewart earned a trifecta in Chicago with Stewart’s previous win on the oval track in Chicago, his win as a team owner with driver Donny Schatz’s 2005 and 2017 wins on the dirt track, and now Stewart’s win in Top Fuel on the dragstrip. Stewart’s versatility will again be highlighted this coming weekend as Stewart will join Danica Patrick and Chris Myers and the INDYCAR on FOX team and participate in the pre-race show for the 109th Indianapolis 500. Pre-race coverage begins at 10 am Eastern.

Ratings for NHRA telecasts are very strong and visibility continues to expand through additional streaming options through NHRA.tv.

Aiming to change the way influencers, content creators and digital media members experience drag racing, NHRA is working to expand its reach across social media platforms with its Cornwell Tools Burnout Box Content Creator Zone. This expansion and emphasis in the digital media space will significantly benefit American Rebel.
